DRak mentally winced and stopped his trotting in order to sit down and tend to his wound again, for it seemed to like bleeding whenever it got the chance. Luckily it wasn't too deep, and he could still walk without a limp. It would be too embarrassing if such a young wolf had gotten to him bad enough to cause anything worse than this.
After a bit of licking, it seemed to subside and he once again hoped that it would stay subsided. Otherwise it would take longer for his scar to set in. He smiled a bit at that, imagining himself with such a nice scar as these two deep gashed would surely make.
Spotting the sun, he got back up. Soon it would be dusk, and he wanted to be in his den by then.
It was not long before he crossed into Frigid Plague lands, his new home.
...his new home that he got accepted into yesterday...and already got into a fight.
"That stupid whelp," he growled under his breath. "I would have killed him if it was two days ago."

The sound of twigs breaking caught her ear, and the smell of blood drew her in. Not out of any thirst of course, unless you counted the thirst for an explanation. It didn't take long for Perjury to pinpoint the source's location, and she was surprised to see Drak sitting at the border. She had been attending to other matters and had assumed he had stayed within the packlands. But the scent of blood was accompanied by the scent of other wolves, and she narrowed her eyes at him as she made her presence known.
"Good evening," she said, walking into the clearing where he stood, "Although it doesn't seem to be as good for you." She looked down at his wound, "I should hope that you were impaled by a branch." Her expression darkened, making it clear that she was in no joking mood. "Explain."

He had heard her semi-hurried footsteps before he had seen her. When he did see her, though, it was much worst than he imagined it would be. Judging by her dark mood, she had figured out what had happened already, the basics anyways, and probably wanted to know how bad he had mucked up.
"You have a sniffer right? You probably can guess...and you'd be wrong." He looked from her and then to the sun. It was perhaps best that he gave up being in his den by a specific time.
"So I went walking to have my last hurrah before being all pack-supported and probably not getting to leave for months on end...And I stop to talk to a young wolf, things were going fine- at least I thought so...then his care taker comes and suddenly the kid decides he wants to snack on my face."
He says the last part with an annoyed sort of sarcasm. "So...I couldn't let him snack on my face for free...and I got a couple nice gashes somewhere in there." he shrugged, purposely sounding bored to see how far he could piss her off.

Perjury snarled, "Watch your tone when you speak to your alphess, boy. This is not a game. There are not many evils in this valley, and the few that remain either belong here, or they belong with the Dark Donoma." She stepped towards him, "Do the math. That wolf whom it was so important to fight...where do you think they could have come from?"
"I hope it was worth it to defend your masculinity with a pointless fight. If Ilana comes knocking at our door because of your foolishness, I may just offer up your 'masculinity' to her claws as a peace offering. Is this situation still a joke to you?"

He raised an eyebrow at her, "A joke? The only joke here is the kid that jumped me was an evil. And he was Axel of Dark Donoma, and the only need I had to fight him was to make sure that he didn't...and I will repeat...Snack on my face." he growled the last part lowly, but making sure he wasn't being more disrespectful than he needed to be, for he was sure she could bury him alive in an instant.
His tail swished at her threat though, "If the alphess of that idiot comes for me, you won't have to offer anything. I will take her on myself and simply explain to her that I could have attacked her precious whelp without warning and eaten the prey from his very innards while he was still alive - instead of teasing him and playing a joke, such as I had."
He looked her defiantly in the eye, "I am evil, like you, and like yourself, I am not stupid. And it's very unwise to treat me like I am....now...are you going to continue to chastize me for being attacked? Or are you going to kill me for not groveling at your feet for displeasing you? Or are you going to back off and let me rest?

His words made her pause, and then they made her laugh. "What kind of fantasy are you living in," she said, almost in tears, "That you think I would start a war with Dark Donoma for your sake? That you think I would allow you to talk to Ilana with such disrespect and bring her wrath down upon us?"
She fought the urge to strike him down when he threatened her. It would have been more than deserved, but she wasn't a leader who ruled by fear. Instead, she backed up a few paces, turned her back on him, and sat down. "I welcome you to make good on your threat. Go ahead and show me how unwise it is to treat you as I am. I will even give you the advantage of attempting the first strike while I look the other way. You'll notice that my body bears no scars...this is because when I fight a wolf, I defeat them absolutely." She smiled, "Or, if you would rather not lose all confidence in your superior strength, you can leave this pack and be glad that you get to keep your tongue. The squirrels and the fish in the forest will swoon at your rebellious charm, I'm sure."

He took a deep breath when she misunderstood and over reacted to his words, this breath was exhaled as a sigh. He padded over next to her, "I did not mean I would kill you for it now. That would be stupid- as would have been killing the whelp that you continuously are chastising me for being attacked by. I could have killed him- he was weak and inexperienced. But his caretaker was a variable and decidedly not weak and inexperienced."
He looked at her, "You may say that you can kill any wolf, but I remind you that you can kill those wolves without having to risk your own body." he growled slightly, but cut it short, "and you are the one that told me to avoid bringing pointless troubles to you and the pack. So which way would you have preferred it, alphess? A possible visit for a vengeful smack in the face for a misbehaved whelp? Or a definite vengeful visit for a dead one?"

Perjury suppressed the low growl that was forming in her throat, "You still refuse to silence that insubordinate tongue? Yes, I blame you for being attacked by that wolf. I blame you because it was your fault. Unless you are going to lie to my face and say that you were just an innocent soul who did nothing to goad or provoke that wolf into attacking, then I will hear no more of your blather. You might be able to assure yourself of your victimhood, but I am not so blind."
She stood, turning back to face him, "You say that I should choose between definite revenge or possible revenge, as if any other course of action was unavoidable. I choose neither. This pack does not revolve around you, and you shall henceforth be an omega. If you would someday like to take responsibility for your actions then you can leave your sarcasm and insubordination behind and come talk to me. Until that day comes, you can make a new den at the edge of the territory and learn to humble yourself."

This time he did growl , not bothering to surpress it. His eyes narrowed, "You fool! You can't choose to not have a consequence to an event that has already happened! You are as blind as the trees around us, only capable of announcing your clarity in vain! If you weren't so stupid you'd have been able to see that I wasn't asking you to choose, I was asking you if you had regrets of telling me to avoid trouble- which I did to the best of my abilities as an intelligent and respectable evil. The only reason why you have not seen my respect is because you continue to attack my intelligence with blind accusations when you have no knowledge of the subordinate that you are attacking...no....I will not be an omega, I will not even be in service of one as stupid, blind and incapable of being a leader as you are. Go ahead, attack me! But at least do it with your teeth like a real wolf!"
With this, he prepared himself to be jumped at, for no pack leader, especially an evil one, has ever laid down and taken an insult to their leadership.

Perjury stood, saying nothing. Talk was pointless at this point, he would not listen and she did not care to subject her ears to any more of his backtalk. She smiled as he called her stupid. For a wolf so full of himself, he sure came off to her as though he badly needed validation. She had no such qualms about herself.
For a moment she looked as though she was going to turn and leave him at the border, but then in one swift motion she whipped around, crouched down, and jutted the shelf of earth underneath her paws outward, using it as a springboard to push her forward faster as she sailed towards Drak with her claws outstretched and her jaws agape, aiming for a precision strike on the back of his neck where she could grab him and have some leverage, hopefully bringing him down with the help of her momentum.

He really wasn't stupid. Even though she had put on a show to leave him at the border, he knew that it was important to alphas to be in charge of their packs. There was pride to be had in controlling and organizing the lives of other wolves. No pack leader would be able to stand having that pride bruise. Perjury was no different.
Therefore, he was ready for her when she dropped her ruse. Or as ready as he could have been. She was fast with her whip around strategy so he didn't have much time to work a doge and counter into action. His best bet was to lunge at her and meet her in battle faster than she had expected. His jaw was open, and he went for as much damage as he could get.

.: Perjury's attack is swift. Although Drak's plan is fairly sound, Perjury still has the upper hand in speed and surprise - she manages to get a grip on his neck, though it is not as strong as she had hoped due to her speed. She succeeds in knocking him onto his side, but not without injury - Drak's lunge does not land quite where he expects it to, but he manages to injure her neck near her shoulder with his incisors. It is not a major injury, but it is bleeding and will be painful, especially if the fight drags out. Perjury does a bit of damage to the back of his neck in the process of toppling him, but she cannot keep the hold and lands a short ways away. Drak is winded by the fall and may not be as fast to recover as Perjury, who lands on her feet. :.

Perjury doesn't miss a moment. She manages to right herself in the air, landing on her feet and lunging forward once more. This is not her first fight. She has had more than enough experience dealing with intruders, defectors, and other malcontents that this is almost second nature to her now. There is no enjoyment in her, no gleeful bounce for the love of bloodshed, but a very simple precision. She does not take joy in fighting, but she does glean a certain satisfaction from laying down the law.
Drak's fall knocks the wind out of him, and she decides to use his exhale to her advantage. Focusing her power, she brings up a hard spike of earth in the space where his open mouth should be, as well as collapsing and then reforming the ground near his paws, hoping to swallow them up and hold him still, with the spike making him unable to close his jaws. Perjury had mastered earth completely. It obeyed her in instants, and she could compress it down to near rock density. If she could catch him, she could hold him, at least long enough for the lesson she wanted to teach him.
His insults meant nothing to her, and she couldn't care less what he thought of her honor. Her power was no less part of her body than her own claws and fangs, and she did not have a moment's hesitation about using it to end conflicts quickly and prevent injury to herself. Only a fool would be goaded into discarding an invaluable tool, and Perjury was no fool. She knew that Drak needed her to ignore her power in order to have any chance in a one-on-one fight with her, and she knew just as easily that that wasn't about to happen. He would be punished for his insolence.

Drak cursed as he fell onto the ground. Well, he cursed mentally, because the air knocked out of him meant that he didn't have the breath to curse at that moment. Before he could recover enough to stand, a spike came out of the earth near his mouth and his instinct told him to get away. So his feet quickly scrambled to push his body away and into a position that he could stand from. (leaving this part to gyll then. feel so bad for the short post XD)

.: Drak is partially successful - he avoids the spike of earth in his jaws. Instead, it comes up just below his chin - but in the male's haste, Perjury is successful in trapping three of his four paws. Only his back left paw is not trapped, and if he sets it down it surely will be trapped too. He has some degree of movement in his head and neck, but it is limited by the proximity of the earth spike. He is well and truly stuck. :.
