Illao:
The fiery pup struggled back to her feet as her family gathered around. Her breath slowly returned to steadiness as she nuzzled into Mom's fur. Illao wiped away her tears with a white paw. She liked the attention everyone was giving her. Usually Akiane got the most of Mom and Dad's focus because of her disability. Illao's green eyes flicked to her sister beside her, the feeling of jealousy filling her. The white pup was wheezing for breath and her brown eyes were worried. Illao felt ashamed for being jealous, if only for a second. Akiane needed the attention. Illao grinned to reassure her family.
"I'm okay, just a little out of breath. I was going to win until Kilpi tripped me. If not for the whole falling thing, it would've been an awesome move. Maybe we should redo this round! Then I'll be the definite winner." Illao laughed to show there were no hard feelings. Suddenly she raced away, calling, "Restart!" pounced on the cone that Kilpi had just abandoned. "The cone is mine! Muhahahahaha!"

Akiane:
Akiane smiled and nuzzled into her mother's warm fur for a moment, her breathing returning to normal from the gentle pats from Kit's tail. She looked over at Illao, a small smile on her face before she softly spoke, "I'm glad your okay, Illao." The small white pup yawned and stood up, wincing a bit as she walked away, back to her spot on the edge of the field to take score. As she walked, she limped slightly for when she fell a rock ended up under her side and left a small mark. She hadn't noticed the red that shown through her bright white fur until she sat down beside her father and looked to see why her side was stinging so badly. Akiane gasped when she saw the small trickle and looked up at Jelack, turning so he could see what had happened to her side. How he would react was beyond Akiane, she just knew she had to tell him so he could determine what to do about. The small white pup lowered her head and looked down at the ground, tears welling up in her eyes and spilling down the front of her nose as she allowed her father to inspect her, fear choking her up as she tried to speak, but nothing come out of her small mouth. She jumped slightly when her other sister Kilpi spoke to her while she was getting inspected. Sadly she shook her head, "Illao is still winning," she murmured softly, still letting their father check her over.
Kitsune:
Kit had watched Illao walk away from her, smiling at her pup as she walked away to continue playing. The small female turned and walked back over to Jelack, Kilpi, and Akiane. Seeing the red streak in Akiane's fur, Kit panicked and stumbled slightly before hurrying over and asking Jelack all sorts of questions, "Is she okay? What do we do? How do we stop it?" The questions rolled off her tongue in rapid motion as she stared up at Jelack with wide and fearful eyes. Yes, she new it was a minor scratch to them, but to Akiane it could hurt very much since she was disabled and smaller than all of them.

Kilpi shrugged as her sister did what was typical of her: winning no matter what. The little brown and green pup trotted over to sit next to Akiane. "Tie breaker you two!" She called out to Illao and Dad. Then to Akiane. "It's not a tie is it?" Kilpi chuckled and nuzzled her sisters cheek. Family was forever. she wanted it to be at least.

Illao:
"I don't need a tie breaker! I'm winning, aren't I, Akiane?" Illao yipped. Her tail blurred as wagged back and forth. She shook the cone that she held in her jaws. "You else could be winning? I've gotten the most cones. I would know since I caught them... What's wrong Akiane?" Illao noticed that her sister looked fearful. She dropped her cone and padded over to see. She recoiled at the sight of blood. It was as red as her own coat. "Mom? Dad?" her voice was frightened. Nothing like this had happened before. Illao was used to seeing blood on something dead, something the were going to eat. "It's my fault," Illao whispered. Akiane was hurting, bleeding. Bleeding meant death... Illao had just killed her own sister. There was nothing she could do. They would all blame her, then they'd hurt her for hurting Akiane.
Her belly brushed along the ground as Illao sneaked away. They wouldn't notice, not while Akiane was dying. She reached the tree line around their home and fled. Illao realized that she was making a lot of noise but she didn't care. She just needed to escape. Illao could only hope that they weren't following her. Her path of escape took her up into the mountains. Nobody would find her there. She'd be alone. A murderer who would never kill anything or anyone again! -Exit Illao-
Jelack:
His blue muzzle dipped to inspect Akiane as she approached. She was bleeding! He tongue caressed her, comforted the frightened pup. His ears flicked as Illao claimed victory. Then the pups' voice took a fearful turn as she saw the blood. In response to Kit's worried question, Jelack said, "It's not too bad. It should stop on its own." His voice was quiet, only meant for the ears of Kit and maybe Akiane. Jelack didn't want Kilpi worrying over the wound. She would be more frantic than Illao when she realized that her sister was hurt. As he thought of Illao and Kilpi, Jelack realized the almost constant chattering of Illao was quiet. Jelack jerked his head up and scanned the area with his hazel eyes. No fiery red pup. There was Kilpi, sitting beside Akiane, but Illao was gone. "Illao?"

Akiane
The white pup sighed in relief to hear that she wouldn't die, but she had long since noticed the quietness and was inspecting around the area, desperately searching for her older sister. "Illao? Illao? Oh please come out, Illao!" she cried out, tears streaming down the young pups face. She sat down, looking back at her family with sad eyes and a tearful face. Akiane took a moment to try and console herself before going over to her family, quietly speaking to her parents, "Illao is...gone.." As the words slid from her mouth, the white pup began to cry once more, her head burrowing into Kit's fur as she cried. Why would she leave? Did she not love us? thought Akiane, causing her to cry even harder as the thought of something horrid happening to Illao crossed her mind. She turned her head to look up at Jelack, tears still spilling from her eyes as she spoke to her father, "Will we ever find her..?" she asked, sniffling and crying continuously.
Kitsune
Kit noticed the quietness as well, her eyes shifting to look up at Jelack. "H-honey..?" she murmured, waiting for Jelack's opinion. She watched Akiane look around frantically before wandering over to give the news and be comforted. With tears in her green eyes, Kit slid Kilpi closer to her body and wrapped her tail snuggly around the two pups, trying to comfort them, for fear that they thought it was there thought. Kitsune then turned her head to look up at Jelack as well, waiting for him to reassure her and the pups and to tell them all that they'd find the lost pup. When they found her was beyond them, but Kit knew that they had to try. If not, the rip that had marked her heart would be there forever, and no amount of pups would change that. Not even if they all looked like Illao, Kit wanted her one and only daughter. "Jelack...we have to find her.." she murmured softly, tears spilling from her eyes as they clouded over. So now instead of having lovely green eyes that showed every emotion she felt, Kitsune's eyes now showed nothing. Nothing but fear and sadness...

Kilpi relaxed as Akiane relaxed. She was going to be fine. The brown and green shepup slumped into a laying position, her slender head resting on her large paws. She let out a sigh of relief that puffed out in a white cloud of steam. That was when she realized it was colder out. She sat up and looked around. She was picking up many things. First everyone was relieved and relaxed and then..."ILLAO!!! SISTER!!!!!" Kilpi howled in a high pitched tone that rang throughout the forest. Her heart was beating faster than fast. This was her fault. She had failed three times today! THREE! Kilpi's loud snicker howls and yelps turned into wet sobbing as she crashed to the ground, paws over her muzzle, loud genuine whimpers emanating incessantly from her throat. Illao fell. Kilpi failed. Akiane got hurt. Kilpi failed. Illao went missing. Kilpi failed. After a few dozen more racking sobs, the pup stood slowly. "We have to find her." She whispered hoarsely. Then in a louder, more determined (yet desperate) voice she repeated herself. "We have to find Illao." Sge turned to her family. "Daddy, Akiane. You stay here in case she comes home. Momma and I will go searching."

Jelack:
Illao... his daughter... she had just disappeared. Jelack looked at his family. He nodded as to Kit and Kilpi's repeated phrase. 'We have to find her.' Kilpi then was ready to go off and find the pup. According to Kilpi, Jelack would stay, but he felt a responsibility to find Illao. He was the one supposed to be searching. "No, I'll go. Mommy will take of you while your gone." Jelack turned away to depart. This would be his quest. Illao wouldn't survive long on her own. He had to find her as soon as possible. "I won't be gone long. I promise I'll return with Illao."

Akiane
The littlest white pup stood up and wandered over to her father, nuzzling him as he was soon to be leaving. "Please be safe..." she murmured softly. Akiane continued to nuzzle her father, not wanting him to go at all, and if he did have to go, she wanted to go along with him. "Father, do you promise you'll be home soon with Illao?" she asked, looking up at Jelack with her big brown eyes. Her eyes reflected Jelack's reflection as she gazed up at him, waiting to hear him promise that he'd be alright and he'd bring Illao back. Akiane knew that Illao was strong, but how strong she was is beyond her, for she was merely a pup roaming the world as though she had no care in the world. The thought of Illao no longer loving her made Akiane cry once more. She burrowed her face into Jelack's stomach as she continued to cry. First she lost Illao, now she may loose her father. What if something happens and we're not there to help? she thought, looking up at Jelack frantically. She wanted him to reassure her, Kilpi, and their mother. How he reassured them was up to him, Akiane just wanted reassurance.
Kitsune
Kit's green eyes went wide at Jelack's words. "Oh no. No, no, no! I just Illao and I'm not loosing you as well! If you go, we all go," Kit said, determined to not loose her family. She had waited her whole life to get this far in it, and she was not about to let go and loose it all in the blink of an eye. So, she looked up at Jelack with sad and pleading eyes, wanting him to tell her they could go with him. She wanted Illao to come home so they wouldn't have to even leave the Barrens! This was the place Kit had only really known and she was a bit fearful of moving away from it. But if it meant she'd keep her family together and working properly like a family should, she'd do anything. "Please Jelack...I can't be away from you for more than I must...I need you, I love you..Please let us come.." she pleaded softly, walking towards her mate with tearful eyes. Kitsune went and stood in front of Jelack, her small body blocking his path as she waited for him to answer, or give some reassurance like Akiane had said.

"But dad! i have to find her! It's my duty! I failed enough times today! I need to find her. In going either way. If everyone comes: great! I can protect all of you! If you agree totaled me with you: even better! That way if Illao returns she won't be lost. However, if you refuse to bring me -or us- I'm going anyway." Kiloi yapped, putting her paw down firmly, little eyes narrowed in determination.

Jelack:
"I'll be home before you know it!" Jelack touched Akiane's nose with his tongue. Akiane's words were easily answered, but the others' refusals were more difficult to answer. Kit's tearful objection and Kilpi's determined yapping broke Jelack's heart. He tried to form a convincing argument against them coming. Finally Jelack sighed, "Fine... I can't convince you guys otherwise. I wish you'd stay though..." He pleaded with his hazel eyes for them to change their mind, but he was sure it was useless.

Akiane:
The small pup looked up at her father when he said they could come along. But what if we get hurt? or worse... she thought to herself, fear building up inside her small body. Akiane was very worrisome, almost paranoid, but kept the thoughts to herself as she stood up and walked away from her family to go back to their den. She had no idea what she'd do when she got back to the hollowed out tree, she just simply wanted to be left alone for the time being and the best place to do that would most likely be the tree hole. Once there, she plopped herself down near the very back of the den and looked around the smallish hollow with her chocolate brown eyes. The same eyes she always enjoyed looking up into that were in her father's head. If he goes and something happens to him...Will that even make us a family still? Then, who else will I be able to gaze up at and not feel strange for carrying my father's eyes? she thought once more, unsure what she should do. Convince Jelack to stay with her and Kilpi while Kit went to look, or go out together as a family to look for Illao. The thoughts racing through her mind came and went at rapid speed and the frustration she felt was enough to make her cry. Which, of course, she did softly.
Kitsune:
Kitsune was overjoyed that Jelack agreed to let them come along, but was soon back to being miserable when she remembered why they were leaving. She turned her head to watch Akiane trudge back up to the den, ready to follow after her, but changed her mind. The mother turned to look back at her mate, an even sadder look in her hazy green eyes. "Jelack.." she said softly, not even finishing what it was she'd been about to say for she knew that Jelack knew what to do with Akiane. The red female stood aside and sat down, pulling Kilpi into her thick red fur and nuzzling the pup's ears gently, trying to keep the tears that were welling up in her eyes from spilling over and watering the earth below them. Kit couldn't take all that had happened in the few short hours since she'd waken up. First both Akiane and Illao got a bit hurt, Illao ran away, and now Akiane was becoming less and less like herself with each passing moment. The miserable mother just couldn't take it anymore and allowed her tears to gently fall from her green eyes, dripping onto both Kilpi and the ground as her small frame shook with each sob she gave.

Kilpi grinned as she gained success. Now they could go if d Illao! The brown and green shepup puffed out her chest and her eyes shined. Today was the day! The day they would find Illao! But then her grin fell as she yawned. Maybe, tomorrow was the day.... Her face was still a smiling one, but that fell as well as Akiane stormed away. Sure, Illao was missing, but that didnt give her family an excuse to fall apart! Everything seemed to become better as her mother Kitsune drew her close and nuzzled her ears. The stressed shepup rekaxed into her mothers warm body. Wishing that Illao would come back and Akishe would cheer up again. But all her jokes were once again dashed as her mother began sobbing, somehow crushing her in the process. Kilpi would comfort her right now, but..."Mom, I-cant-breeeathe!" She wheezed and attempted to wriggle away but to no avail.

Jelack:Jelack watched Akiane walk back to the den. She wasn't herself. A pup should be playful and happy. Akiane seemed neither. No pup should be filled with so much worry. It was Jelack's job to worry. He trotted to the entrance. He kept his manner light. Akiane needed comfort and maybe something to laugh about. He poked his head into the den. The little pup soft sobs were the only noise besides the two wolves breathing. Akiane's breaths were slightly labored compared to Jelack's even breathing, but it didn't seem as though one of her attacks were upon her. Jelack slipped in, nearly completely silent. A couple pebbles skittered away from his paws as he wrapped himself around Akiane's form. "Hey," his voice was soft, "We will find Illao. Don't you worry about her. We'll find her and we'll be back together. A family together. We're still a family, right now. Even though Illao's away, we're still a family. Nothing can change that and nothing will. An army of squirrels can't even change that fact." Jelack's tone had slowly changed from a soft, slightly sad, voice to a confidently comforting one. He smiled at Akiane as he gently licked her forehead. "Would you'd like to go and find a squirrel to chase? Fun always helps us to find a silver lining. Plus, everything's the squirrels' fault anyways!"((@shiver ))

(Let's see if I can pick this back up.. ^^; Sorry for the delay and all, but I lost account information and all and finally found everything, so yay! :3)
Kitsune:
The fiery-red she-wolf continued her sobbing, somehow managing to crush her daughter, Kilpi, in the process. She didn't really know what she was doing until the little pup wheezed that she couldn't breathe and made a vain attempt to wriggle away. It was then that Kitsune lifted her head up and gave a quiet chuckle, sniffing before licking her pup behind the ears in a motherly fashion. "S-sorry Kilpi.. I d-didn't know," she murmured softly under her breath, doing her best to blink back her tears and dry her eyes. She had been crying to much over a simple solution, and she realized it on her own before things could get worse. But that never stopped fate, now did it? "Kilpi, dear, let's say you and I go and find Illao on our own?" she whispered softly so that only herself and the pup could hear, her green eyes brightening some as she regained some happiness from deep down within herself. Her ears perked up some as she awaited her daughter's answer, hoping that the pup would agree and they could go rescue Illao and bring her home, safe and sound...
Akiane:
The white-furred pup was laying on the floor of the family den, sobbing as quietly as she could. Her breathing was a bit labored thanks to said sobbing, but she was fine and wasn't having one of her attacks, thank goodness, but she still blamed herself for what had happened. It's because of me Illao left! I should have left a long time ago.. Akiane thought, her mind zoning out and wrapping around all sorts of different scenarios of how the day could have gone instead of how it went wrong, soon getting lost in her own thoughts that she hadn't even heard her father walking in until a warm body wrapped itself around her small form. Chocolate brown eyes gazed up at her father when he assured her that they would find Illao and other things, filling her innocent mind with promises the pup knew he'd go above and beyond to keep and fulfill. Akiane couldn't help but giggle when Jelack made a little joke about an army of squirrels not being able to change the fact that they were still family, a small smile soon forming as her forehead was licked and she was asked if she wanted to go and find a squirrel to chase, the pup unable to laugh some as her father blamed everything on the squirrels. "No thanks dad, but I'll take you up on the offer soon. Right now I want to go and find Illao," Akiane said, her voice strong and not giving away her fear of not being able to find her lost and runaway sister...
