Volka

He was so greatful when his father stood and shouted his name. When he approached, however, Volka could see blood spilling over his eye. Volka was naive and began to panic over the minor injury. He rushed up. His mouth began moving a mile a minute as he spouted questions. "Are you okay? Are you going to be blind? Are you going to die? Am I going to have to live alone? Will I have to find mommy? Will this shewolf help you? Do you know each other? Does she know my mommy, Echo? You're not going to die are you?" He finally ran out of questions to ask and settled for walking in circles. 

Volka bit his lip. He could see the other wolf trying to help his dad. She seemed to be pressing moss to his wound. A sigh of relief left his lungs. She looks calm, so it must not be too serious. Volka could feel himself calm down. Then a large wave of exhaustion hit him. The extremity of the situation had taken quite a toll on him. He sat and pushed out his chest. That didn't matter. He had to be strong for daddy. Volka pushed away his exhaustion and watched the shewolf treat his dad.

Scorpius sat diwn, his limbs shaking. They had no food because that shewolf stoke Volka's fish, he had a cut over his eye, and Mysti was here. He decided mentally that fate hated him. He guessed he couldn't blame fate. Didnt everyone hate him? The ashy grey male pulled Volka close and lucked his muzzle. "it's okay, I'll be fine. Just rest, don't worry about me. We can resume hunting once you're rested and when we have no....visitors." He said and eyed Mysti. She was still beautiful, but he didnt want to be reminded if the incentive that brought him to hurt all those wolves

Scorpius was by no means good, but he wasn't evil. He was unsure, neutral. He held Volka close to his furry chest. Just keep him warm until this us all over.

Mysti:

The bleeding slowed to a trickle. Mysti set aside the blood soaked piece of moss. Her eyes were down. She needed to speak. Now. Savu's tone and words dug into Mysti. He wanted her to leave, but she couldn't. She hadn't searched for him just to give up because she couldn't think of what to say. Mysti's downcast sky blue eyes shifted towards the pup, Volka. He looked similar to Savu but different in his own way. His coloring allowed no doubt that Savu was his father. She bent down and spoke to him. "Everything's gonna be alright. You can rest easy." As she spoke the words, something Volka had said registered in her mind. 'Echo' That was the mother's name.

Somehow hearing the name made the whole situation real. It had all seemed a bit unreal. Savu's actions, all these pups, the heartbroken she-wolves... Mysti found words to speak hidden within her mind as she kept referring to the truth of it all. "Where did you leave Echo? Did you leave her alone? Broken because of betrayal? Did you leave her like you left Blaise? Hardened to never trust easily? Why do you leave everyone that loves you alone and broken, the way you left me?" Mysti's tone wasn't harsh. It was soft, but it wavered at every word. She caught her breath as she spoke the last question. This whole trek, she'd been convinced that it was all her fault. That one question had revealed how she really felt about Savu's departure. Alone and broke. No matter how many wolves she met, Mysti would feel alone. She was broken. She couldn't operate right without Savu.

She still felt guilty though. It didn't matter that her emotions were dying because Savu left her. It was her fault. Nothing could change that fact. "I... I'm sorry, so sorry. I turned you into this. I've missed you every moment, every second. I can't go on living like this, without you."

Volka

He backed away as the two adults conversed. They appeared to know each other. How? Does mommy know about this other shewolf? Volka couldn't keep up with all the questions. However, as he took in the information, he could feel his body swaying. Apparently he had been more shaken up than he thought when he had been thrown. 

Volka felt the world spin. Trees flew past his vision. Leaves fell up instead of down. The water rushed in a spiral pattern. He couldn't tell where he was or what was happening. The ground rushed to meet his body as Volka flopped over. A black frame started closing in on his vision. The last thing he saw was the shewolf tenderly caring for his wounded father. Then his vision went black with exhaustion.

"Volka?! Are you alright?!" Scorpius leaped away from Mysti with the moss and nosed his son. 'He was just tired, whew, okay.' He thought with relief and his shoulders relaxed, his breath exhaled in a white puff. A white puff?! Scaorpous craned his neck towards the heavens. Large white clouds, they were low. The air was frosty and cold. It-it was winter! It had been a full year since Mysti had hurt him. He turned around, his trademark blank state focused in her. "I do not know you." He says and took a step forward. "And if there ever was something between us, it was destroyed. There will be nothing between us ever, ever." He turned away and leaned over to lift Volka off the ground.

Mysti:

Mysti glanced over as Volka collapsed. Savu leaped to the pup's side. The she-wolf anxiously focused on Volka, worried something life-threatening had happened to the pup. Fortunately it seemed as though he was just exhausted from all the excitement. Then Savu turned to Mysti. She hoped to see an expression of happiness or love that she had found him. There was... nothing, no emotion at all. Though his eyes, his breathtaking sapphire blue eyes, were focused on Mysti, there wasn't a single spark of recognition or feeling in them.

The words were harsh, emotionless. They tore into Mysti like teeth. Tears flooded from her eyes. They streamed down her cheeks, collecting at her feet. Her heart seemed to rip itself apart as those words echoed in her ears. "Savu... I... thought that..." Mysti couldn't find the words to respond. Finally, she picked up her scattered thoughts and spoke. "What's happened to you? Is the wolf that I love gone forever? You're colder than ice..." Mysti's voice was quiet at first, but with every word she found strength to speak louder. "You said you'd always love me. I have always loved you. Every moment we've been apart has not weakened that, but it has for you. You're not a wolf that I would love." The final sentence shocked Mysti. It had been spoken with confidence as her voice had risen to nearly a shout, but it wasn't true. Mysti would always love Savu, no matter how evil he became.

The tension in the air was thick as Mysti turned away. She couldn't face Savu anymore. She knew that she couldn't change what he'd become. Better to leave now before, he hurt her with more stinging words. Mysti watched the tears splash into the gathering snow for a second before she tore herself away. She fled, her paws beating against the cold ground. The snow swirled past her as she left behind the only love she'd ever known. Mysti wouldn't go searching for him again, but he would be forever in her thoughts and in her broken heart.

Scorpius sat, his cut seeping blood once again. He was worrying. The reason he just sent Mysti away was....he was afraid. He had done too much and he was no longer worthy of her. He wasn't worthy if anyone. He couldn't even call himself Volka's father. He promised to himself that he would take care of Volka. He had to keep him. Where else would he go? Back to echo? Maybe. Scorpius knew now. He knew. He had to find Mysti again. He had to make amends at least. Then he could leave her. And leave the valley. He would live alone where no wolf would be harmed by him ever again. No, maybe just dwell in a pack, start a new life. He would go back to where it all started. began to run towards the one place that wouldn't refuse him, the one place he could get directions. His old home, Eternal Snowfall. But he would die with the same name that he was born with, Savu. He stood up and scooped Volka up, he was getting bigger.
