Whisper:
The water that still remained in his lungs exited in a fit of hacking coughs. Whisper's orange eyes were squeezed shut as he felt himself leave the water. The cold air around him made him shiver. This weather would freeze his wet fur before the soft breeze dried it. Whisper struggled to his feet. Jules was worried, so he needed to comfort her in some way. "I... uh... I'm o...okay," he said between chattering teeth.
Spring had to be just around the corner, right? The winter felt like it'd been going on for too long. If only there was a warm breeze of Spring instead of the lingering chill of Winter. Maybe Whisper could summon the warm wind with his power. His wind element mark glowed as a gentle rush of warmth buffeted his soaked fur.

She stopped her frantic licking when he sputtered to life. She was cold, having run through snow to save time. Subconsciously, she shook out her fur, flakes of snow wistfully floating back down to the ice floor. Jules' looked frantically over Wisp, checking for injuries. If she was cold, he must be freezing! The she wolf let out a sigh, her breath billowing in steam. Her concern and worry quickly took a turn for the worst.
Suddenly irritated, she lifted a paw and clouted him over the ear. She wasn't mad that he fell, seeing as it was kind of her fault for chasing him even when she knew it was dangerous in the Winter. She more just had so many pent up feelings and they burst out like bats out the underworld. "You had me worried sick! You could've DIED out there!" Jules harshly lashed out at him."Y-you would've left me here. I would've lost you, forever this time." Her voice cracked and the she wolf immediatley felt guilty. No sooner did she bark, did a warm gust rushed over their cold bodies. Out of habit, she moved and stood beside him. Skin touching, she could only hope that this helped warm his up some more. "I'm sorry. It wasn't your fault. I didn't mean to get loud."

Whisper:
"It... It's f... fine," Whisper said after he'd pinned his ears at Jules' outburst. His white ears slowly perked up at her apology. "I... I wouldn't want to lose you either." His voice was shaking from his shivering. The Spring would bring warmth thankfully. Whisper noticed how the snow around him was starting to melt in the warm wind he'd summon. As he thought of Current, the breeze sputtered to nothing. Current had been predictably unpredictable once again. "W... We sh... should find some sh... shelter. Maybe someplace w... warm." Whisper smiled at Jules his white teeth glinting in the contrast of his brown fur.
In attempts to get his mind off the cold, Whisper wondered over what had been going on with Jules since he'd seen her last. Hopefully there'd be time to ask her about how life was treating. But what if there wasn't... Whisper's near death experience had definitely shown how unexpected life could be. Life could sometimes be ripped away before you got a chance to say goodbye. The white flecked male worried over the possibilities of death that were disguised in everyday circumstances.

(THAT'S TOO DEEP FOR ME and too real)
Jules felt incredibly guilty for lashing out and Whisper's reaction made her feel worse. The way he looked so shocked and maybe a little hurt. He perked up at her apology and sympathized but it still left a pit in her stomach. She stood with her head lowered and her ears leaned back. Her head lifted when he mentioned finding someplace warm. She nodded and ushered Whisper onto the already melting snow. It was cold, but it was getting warmer by the moment. The purple female rushed ahead and looked around. There were a few places that could serve as a den yet they might not meet the standards of being warm. She frowned at them, but checked out a small cave and tree roots. The cave was better, as the tree would only fit one of them. To be fair, that would be fine with her. Whisper could sleep inside while Jules slept next to the tree. Though she figured Wisp would protest to that. "Maybe over here?" She called from the cave's entrance. She frowned yet again. her head drifted and it made her sniff to stiffle a sob. Don't do it Jules. Don't. She mentally scolded herself.
She turned to looked at Whisper again. Why did it have to happen to them and why now. She wished bad thing would stop happening to her. She could list plenty. They all hurt. But then again on the bright side of it, eventually you can't break what's already broken right? That's what she told herself at least. As she sat at the entrance, she looked Whisper over. He looked tired and saddened. What if he hadn't made it. What if he got mad at her and blamed her for him falling? What if- she cut herself off and decided to think about possibly trying to get a power again.

Whisper:
Whisper poked his head inside the cave. It was big enough for both of them, though it was slightly chill from being empty. "It works," he said, somewhat sulkily. Though finding Jules had been great, Whisper was in a bad mood which was expected since he'd nearly just drowned. Now here he stood wet and cold. This cave wasn't ideal either. Why was it so cold, anyways? Why wasn't there someplace warmer? But this was the best they could find, he guessed he had to live with it. Whisper lifted his head as he stepped inside. A thud resounded through the cave as Whisper hit his head against the ceiling. He winced at the sudden noise. It hadn't hurt, but the thump had surprised him. He growled at his clumsiness and the stupid ceiling for getting in his way.
The male ducked his head low to avoid bumping his head again as he lay down to rest his eyes. But despite how hard he tried, Whisper couldn't lull himself to sleep. While they'd been searching for shelter, Whisper had been battling with himself. He didn't want to be mad, but no matter how much he tried, he could see enough positive things to keep a good mood. He eventually failed, so rain clouds now rained on the way he viewed the world.

Jules being slightly shorter than Whisper didn't have the problem of bumping her head. She held back a chuckle and rested farther up. Most of the wind that blew through their den caught on her body and didn't go much farther. Wisp was in a bad mood so she gave him space. She was going to get yelled at or scolded. She hated it. The she wolf had plenty of that before, no need for it again. She was an adult and could make decisions of her own. She refused to ever let someone force her into submission. She scoffed quietly and rested her head on her paw by the entrance. Heat radiating off the two wolves' bodies began to heat up the cave, but it was still fairly cold. She didn't get why he was that grumpy. He made it didn't he? They had a place to rest, didn't they?
They were still kicking, still breathing. She frowned and nuzzled deeper into her own fur. Current and previous events rushed through her head, keeping her awake for awhile. They were only bits and pieces. The scenes in her head came to an abrupt stop and let her rest. The female curled her tail to her side and got comfortable. Soon enough she steadied her breathing, but she could still hear Whisper who hadn't fallen asleep. She turned her eyes away and faced outside. Jules grunted and got up, walking outside. She wanted to leave, but she had done that to she cared about too recently. The wolf moved away so Whisper wouldn't be able to see her. She scraped her claws across the snow angrily and hung her head. If she hadn't been playing on the ice, Whisper wouldn't have climbed on with her. They wouldn't have rushed around in the snow. She lowered herself herself into the melting ice and pressed her forehead into a sturdy mound. Finally, she got a hold of herself and shook off her head, but didn't bother with her body. The snow covered female returned to their small cave and nuzzled down again. This time, she fell asleep easily.

Whisper:
After what felt like hours of tossing and turning, Whisper finally drifted to sleep. A dream vividly presented itself to his sleeping mind. There he sat in front of the den that he'd been raised in. He was alone. In his memories, the den was full of their laughter as Tear, Jules, and Whisper played. Now, everything was silent. Not even birds sang in the quiet. A distant buzzing filled his ears and Whisper turned in circles to find the source of the soft noise. Nothing seemed to be there. Then the buzzing grew louder and became more of a roar. A roar of rushing water. Whisper whipped around and his orange eyes widened in terror as he saw the giant was racing towards him. For a second, Whisper was frozen then he ran. There was no where to run but forward since the water engulfed everything in its path. He glanced back for a second to see the powerful tidal wave destroyed his puphood home. He focused back on running, tears threatening to spill. No matter how fast Whisper dashed, he couldn't escape the water nipping at his heels. Then the wave engulfed him. The world was a spiral of confusion as Whisper tried to paddle to the surface. But... where was the surface? Whisper couldn't tell in the swirling white water that spun him around. The air in his lungs was running out, so Whisper trying to use Current. Unreliable as usual, his power refused to work. Just when he was about to take in a breath, all went black.
Whisper started as he woke from the nightmare. It many ways it mirrored his near death experience. He shook from the shock of it. He breathed slowly to calm himself. He lay his head on his paws, waiting for sleep to return to make the memory of the dream disappear if only for a night. Finally the darkness of sleep returned.

Jules' eyes fluttered open to scuffling. She watched quietly and with her eyes barely open to seem as though she was still asleep. She wondered what was horrifying Whisper. She shrugged mentally and closed her eyes again. Sleep refused to return to her and by the time she decided to get up again, Wisp was sound a sleep. The she wolf got up and walked out of the den, shaking out her fur. Snow drifted to the grass. Overnight most of the snow melted. Now only wet grass was there. She licked her nose and returned to the claim that nearly claimed a loved ones life.
She figured her companion would be hungry. She sighed. It was the least she could do to for him. The figure sat quietly as she stared out over the quiet land. Her head dipped once more and she stalked off to find a morsel. Luckily enough a pair of ra bits sat quietly. She prowled over snapped towards them. She only came away with and left the only one running. Running back, she dropped the rabbit by her friend's paws and went back outside. Jules laid at the edge of the lake staring at the water.

Whisper:
His eyelids fluttered open at the sound of a soft thump. The delicious smell of meat immediately reach his nose. Whisper took a deep breath in and gazed down at the rabbit by his paws. He looked up in time to see Jules' tail disappearing out of the den. She must've hunted it for him. Whisper stretched his limbs before taking a bite to eat of the rabbit. He devoured the meal. He hadn't realized how hungry he'd been. The battle for survival yesterday had taken a lot out of him as well. At the thought of the incident, Whisper's expression darkened for a second while he suppressed the urge to attack the lake. It wasn't like he could hurt water. Whisper chuckled at his own foolishness.
The male had shaken off the darker emotions as he emerged from the den. Jules lay serenely by the lake. The surface was no longer ice. Now it rippled with a couple chunks of remaining ice still floating in the blue water. Whisper wondered if he should stay something. Maybe he should apologize for being in a bad mood? That mood still shadowed him though. Whisper wasn't sure if his fear and anger had completely dissolved. Best not to talk of that. Instead Whisper said, "Thanks for that rabbit..." He couldn't think of anything else to say so his sentence hung in the air.

Jules was surprised by the sudden voice and she lifted her head, snapping her attention towards the speaker. Her ears flicked back in a slight embarrassment of being thanked. "No problem. It was the least I could do." She said and offered a smile. After she thumped her tail in a playful manner, but no actions followed after. She just wanted to cheer him up. She hated seeing him like this. The female dug her claws into the dirt again and pressed her stomach to the soft earth. It only somewhat stifled her own rumbling belly. She ignored the noise.
She turned her back to the lake and stared after it again. She saw fish swimming past and Jules felt a harsh pang in her heart. She scowled at the swimming creatures and scornfully looked away. Feeling childish for blaming and basically hating the fish, she sighed. Another pang hit her and she buried her head in her paws. Though a few thoughts raced through her head. Don't notice me. Don't notice me. She tried to make it seem like she was just rubbing her eyes and lifted her head again. Though her eyes were clearly glassy and awfully wet.

Whisper:
The male had noticed the fish as well. He watched them for a moment before his attention turned back to Jules. Her paws covered her eyes. She seemed to be rubbing them, but Whisper hear the almost inaudible rumbling of her belly. Of course she'd be hungry. Orange eyes flicked back to the fish as Whisper summoned courage as the will to catch the nearest prey. That prey happened to be the fish. "Here, let me get you something to eat," he said as he prowled forward.
His white paw flashed out and into the water. He retracted it just as quickly. A fish that caught on his claws, flew through the air with a spray of sparkling water. Whisper thrust out his muzzle to catch the fish to finish the show. His missed by an inch. He snapped down a millisecond later and managed to grip the fish's tail in his teeth. It struggled in his jaws as he backed away from the water. His brown fur was sopping wet from the water. Whisper shuddered at the feeling reminding him of his recent battle. "Here," he grunted and set the fish at Jules' feet.
He lifted his head to meet her gaze. She seemed upset, judging by the way her eyes looked. "You okay?" Whisper whispered worried. Was it something he'd said?

She frowned as he went to get something to eat. She really didn't want anyrhing , but her belly sure did. Sheesh you might as well have given it the power of Siren. "Thanks, you didn't need to." The she wolf said, with a small smile. It had been amusing to her when he fumbled with it as he tried to catch it. Silly Wisp. Ah, of course. Now was the 'What's wrong?' question. She scrinches her nose at first and took a bite. It had been roughly a month since she last ate. Jules didn't eat as much as she used to.
A frown creased her lips again. "No." She grumbled. Before she knew it, three quarters of the fish was gone. Most of the really meaty stuff was still on the other half intact. With a flustered look, she scooped it into her own jawe and set it to rest at her companions feet. "I was told I wasn't wanted by the one who I had loved most. He ruined my trust." She shocked even herself when all this came out in a snarl. It enfuriated her. Rising to her paws, she scowled. Though a howl reached her ears. She looked surprised."Ohmygoodnessiforgotallaboutthis. Sorry, I forgot all about this! I have an important role in a pack! Come with me?" Jules asked, trying to act as if Anders never happened. She found herself taking a step closer ready for plead for his forgiveness and acceptance.

Whisper:
Whisper knew there was something bothering Jules, but he decided not the press her. Then there came the answer. Trust is easy to destroy but hard to gain. Of course it was still gnawing at Jules. Whisper didn't want to meet Jules' eyes. The lavender orbs were filled with a distant anger of betrayal. He couldn't find any words to help her or comfort her. She wouldn't want his words since they'd just sound like pity. Whisper gazed down at the last couple bites of fish Jules had given him. As he bowed to eat it, a howl trembled on the breeze. Jules seemed to recognize it. The male lifted his head. The half-eaten fish hung from his mouth like a weird tongue.
"Sure, but your pack might not accept me, considering that I'm neutral and all..." Whisper responded. The fish dropped to the ground as he spoke. Whisper silently cursed and quickly picked it up again. Whisper wondered whether Jules' pack might invite him to join their ranks, despite the words he'd just spoken. He wondered what it'd be like if they did. Would he ever feel welcome in an evil pack? Whisper doubted it. Though he did have his darker moments, he wasn't truly evil. He wouldn't kill a wolf, would he? Doubts began to fill Whisper's mind, but he banished them with a burst of mental wind.

"We have some time to kill, there seems to be a delay. Don't worry, we're not killers like the rumored Midnight Silence. Though I heard their howl too." She said, getting to her paws with her normal excitement. When she looked up at him, she fought back her laughter. He looked so funny with his look and the fish. With a mischievous look, she swatted his shoulder. "Lighten up. If you don't like us then don't sweat it, I'm not going to be offended." They were different and she knew that. Well he and tear were different from Jules. The female relished in the dark, found it welcoming. The definition of evil wasn't a murderer. After all, she hadn't killed anyone and she was welcomed.
A thought hit Jules like a smack to the face. Her ears perked and she pranced around Whisper. "Oh! Did you hear? Did you hear? Tear is a gammess and she has a mate too!" She yelped with glee. It seemed like her slightly older friend had matured in a whole new way. She chose the route of starting a pack and family. It warmed Jules to the core to see that old friends were happy and that they weren't alone anymore. It was great.

Whisper:
"Yeah, I've heard about that pack, Midnight Silence," Whisper said. He shuddered at the thought of the rumors that surround the pack. They were definitely. Whisper hoped he'd never cross paths with a wolf of that pack. He smiled at Jules and tried to 'lighten up' as she recommended. Through he was still rather tense, though evil didn't exactly mean murderer, but most evil wolves worked in different dark ways. Whisper knew he'd be safe around Jules, though. He trusted her despite the time that'd passed since he'd seen her oh so many years ago.
The prospect of meeting a pack of evil wolves wasn't the only thing that bothered his mind. It was the lake. Whisper felt vulnerable so close to the water. He scooted away from the water's edge, trying to make it seem like a casual motion. At Jules' next words, some of the stiffness fled and Whisper broke out in a grin. "Really? I had no idea! What pack is she a gammess in? I haven't heard any claiming howls except for Midnight Silence's. Is she part of one of the larger packs?" Tear had a mate! The news was refreshing and joyous. It sudden struck Whisper that he was old enough to find a mate of his own. The concept seemed a bit foreign, since Whisper had never considered it before.
