( Rykett) Ao: Ao was nervous, as any younger wolf would be. Her uncle was away, all the wolves she knew were gone, and she was alone for the first time in her time here. She was of one of the most hated packs, or at least looked like them, anyone from the east or west would kill her on sight. Absentmindly she wondered if that was what had happened to Justice. What had happened to Cal. "Karera wa daijōbudesu... Watashi no kyōdai wa watashitachi no hahaoya no yō ni jōbudesu. Watashitachi no chichi no yō ni." (They are fine... My brothers are tough like our mother. Like our father.) She muttered in Japaneses. Ao found herself somewhere pink. She stopped dead, watching the strange color. "Sukunakutomo karera wa pinku no ōkamide wa arimasen." (At least they are not pink wolves.) She often slipped into Japaneses when she was alone with her pack, or just alone. It was the language she had been raised in, along with the language of all the packs. To her it was like a secret code. She also knew some Latin, mostly insults like 'Oculis Monstra Blue' and, a very bad insult she had had spat at her a few times, 'Argentum daemonium'. She had called those wolves a few choice words in Japaneses. As Ao resumed walking, she found a pretty flower. Sniffing it, she was mesmerized by it. Her mother had once told her and her brothers and sister of a pink tree called a cherry tree. These must be cheery trees.

Volka:
Volka had returned to the Forest of Love, flooded with success. How fun it’d been messing with Hemera and Khoine! There was a little Volka running around the valley, too! Oh, what triumph! Volka was smiling as he strolled through the Forest of Love. He knew why they called it that now. Wolves were supposed to find their soulmate here. Hemera had found hers, hadn’t she? Or the wolf that could’ve been hers, if he wasn’t lying to her the entire time. Volka had decided to do it all again. Find another she-wolf. Trick her. Fool her. Make her fall in love with him. Make her have pups with him. This was the perfect place to do it, too! Wolves came here looking for love. The scent of this place intoxicated them and made them do rash things. Volka would give it to those foolish she-wolves. Play with them. For what else was their purpose in valley, but to make Volka happy? These deceptions made him happy and he wanted more.
Volka scanned the surrounding forest. His ice blue eyes searching for the perfect female. There she was. Hesitant, alone, vulnerable. She wasn’t nearly as colorful as Hemera had been, but she had her own air of beauty. She was mumbling strange words to herself as she inspected a flower of one of the trees. What type of wolf should he be around her? The sensitive male that had captured Hemera’s heart, perhaps? Or the rogue that had captured Khoine’s? This female might require something different. A bit of conversation with her should reveal what she wanted. Volka approached with an easy smile, ”Hello! My name’s Volka. What brings you to this part of the forest?”

Ao: Ao almost jumped out of her fur at the sound of a male's voice. Her wide blue eyes examined him, and she settled down a little. He had blue eyes, but his fur was dark grey. He wasn't a enemy. Maybe he was even like her, a mix. She swallowed, and finely got her voice back. She found him quite handsome. Her ears pinned back, and she spoke softly. "I am Ao, and.. I was attracted by the trees. They are nothing like I have ever seen. This valley is strange, strange colors and even stranger wolves. It is good to see a wolf who is not golden or lavender or pink or anything." Her ears went up as she stopped talking. Her tail tucked ever so slightly. "My name means blue, like my eyes. What dose your name mean, if it really means anything." Sheepishly, she looked at the ground. A cherry blossom fell on her head, giving her a little pink berrea almost.
Ao looked back up at Volka. She wondered what his parentage was, maybe he was a native of this valley like her ancestors. That would explain the blue eyes, maybe not all the evil wolves in this valley had blue eyes. She knew that she was no longer one of the only. She almost wanted to smile. Someone of this valley who did not scare her, and she liked him. It did not hurt that he was the most handsome wolf she had ever seen. She cocked her head, asking, "Did you ever have a pack?" Her blue eyes implored him, curiosity peaking.

Volka:
The female jumped as he spoke. His voice hadn’t been particularly loud, but the she-wolf had been distracted. Her blue eyes focused on him and he flashed her a friendly smile. She offered her name, Ao. A simple, but unique name. Ao found the trees strange and she wasn’t particularly a fan of colorful wolves. Volka was glad for his plain fur in this interaction. She was obviously from out of the valley. ”The Power of this valley certainly does strange things to both wolves and trees,” Volka said with a smile.
Ao explained the meaning behind her name. Did a lot of females have meaning behind their names? Both Hemera and Ao’s names meant something. Should he make up a meaning for his name? Yeah, maybe it’d help Ao feel like she knew him. ”Ao sounds like an amazing name! My name means rock; steadfast and loyal. I’d say it fits me pretty well.” Ao had a little blossom stuck to the fur of her head. If they were further along in their interaction, Volka might’ve brushed it away with his nose, but it was too soon that that sort of motion. It would get him a little too close, too fast. It might scare Ao off. For now, Volka left the flower alone. Hopefully it’d remain there as an excuse to get him closer when Ao was ready.
Ao’s next question was about his pack. Should Volka v2 have a pack? Did Ao seem like a pack wolf? He’d known that Hemera had siblings, but he had no such knowledge about Ao. She was alone, but Hemera had been, too. She could have a family or a pack somewhere nearby. Perhaps this Volka should have more of a big family feel to him rather than a pack. ”No, but I had a big family once. My parents had two litters really close to each other. We were all so close in age it was if we were from the same litter. I thought we’d all stay together like a pack, y’know, but when we hit adulthood, most of my siblings went off on their own. I tried to keep everyone together, but they kept leaving. My parent passed and the last of my siblings left. I had my sister for a bit, but she found a male and decided to run off with him. I miss them, but I guess we all had different plans. Maybe I should start making my own, too.” Volka expression had grown depressed while he spoke, his eyes unfocused. Then he refocused on Ao with a sad smile. ”It’s nice to meet someone new with a friendly face.”

Ao: Ao smiled, sheepish. She sat, tail curling over her paws. "Yha, I already met a lavender wolf. That was a little hard to take. I'm... Not from inside the valley." She looked down again. Her silver coat glittered in the sun, and was silent as he explained. She wagged her tail, "Nice name, and... It dose suit you." She wagged her tail, and cocked her head. A full smile spread over her features. She was like her mother, strong but still beautiful. She had her father's elegance, though.
Ao listened to Volka explaining his family/pack. She winced, remembering her own family. She had once had brothers, a sister, a mother and a pack. A small tear almost trickled down her face. She screwed her eyes shut for a brife moment. SHe could not cry over the dead and missing. Her mother would not, her uncles never cried. "It sounds nice... Having such a big family. With two parents." Ao seemed a little bitter at that last part. She had grown up in war, hate, and fatherless. Mauku, her uncle, was the closest thing she had ever had to a father, but she had secretly longed to see her real father. The handsome, but defeated warrior who she was sure had stolen her Mother's heart like she had stolen his. She wanted someone like that, and Volka was like that. "So, what is it like here? Anything good to eat?" She asked, smiling again.

Volka:
Ao wasn’t from the valley as Volka had thought. She also accepted what he’d said about his name. Hopefully, the belief that he fit a name that tagged him as loyal would help Ao to trust him faster. She was enjoying their conversation, too, as shown by her wide smile. The smile faded at his backstory. Ao seemed on the edge of tears, but she seemed to bite back the sobs. She must sympathize with his history. Volka had chosen well, then. She made a comment about his family ending on a bitter note, ”With two parents.” She must not have had both parents around. Should he comment about that? Perhaps, not directly. ”It was. I miss them a lot. But, for now, I’m on my own. I… I wish I could find someone that wouldn’t leave me like they did…” Volka shook his head gently as if clearing it of sad thoughts. He eagerly moved onto the next subject, ”What’s your family like?”
At Ao’s next questions, Volka glanced around the surrounding landscape as if considering his feelings about the place. ”It’s alright. It’s not as cold here as the rest of the valley, so prey’s a bit more active here. I like it. There’s tons of rabbits here, if you like rabbits. They’re not my favorite, but they’re pretty good. I’d prefer some tasty geese, but they’ve already flown South.” Suddenly Volka perked up as if he’d had a brilliant idea, ”I could catch you one! Would you like me to?”

Ao: Ao clammed her mouth shut. Sighing slowly, she began her story. "It's a very long story that begins before I was even born." She waited, then began her long story. "My father was the second son of the Alpha Pair of the most evil pack of the mountains outside of the Forbidden Valley. They destroyed the peace the West and East had enjoyed for as long as anyone could remember. They destroyed a seafaring pack called the Ageans, who built ships to said across great lake. They destroyed everything in the west. Then they went to the east. That is were the story of my family begins, in a way." She paused, then continued. "My father was born before the start of the Eastern Wars, he had two brothers and sister, and he was a honored member of the pack. When he was a year old, he lost a ritual in this pack. My mother explained it to my siblings and I that it was rooting out the strongest of a litter of pups. If a female had only one pup, that pup would be thrown in with another litter. My father was blinded in the fight, and his sister was killed. He was cast out with his other brother Caesar." She paused again, remembering Justice and Cal's questions. They had wanted to know so much, normally meaning Ao overheard. She took a deep breath and started again. "Eventually he wandered into the territory of the East, just past the battlefield of what was once Rừng Cao and Pahāḍa Bvām̐sā land. My uncle, Beijing, found him. He brought him back to the pack he belonged to, the Tsurīrainpakku." She let that sink in a little. To herself as much as Volka.
"He was taken as a prisoner, and my mother was sent to see if he would be of any use. She was about a year old, mu father was a year and six months almost. She got him to talk to her, the way my mother told it he seemed surprised at her innocence. She had seen blood and hurt, but she had never seen a wolf like my father. He was dark silver with lighter flecks, she was brown with a white underside. He was also depressed. My mother could not get anything useful out of him, but she was told to stay with him to make sure he stayed alive. They ended up cuddling. In my mother's words, he was warm and it was a cold night. When they woke up, she found my father eating. A larger slab of meat was next to him, most likely meant for her. So she ate it, and my father explored the crevice he was being kept in. He got too close to a water pool and fell in." Ao smiled at this part, like her mother had when telling this part of the story. "She had to drag him out, he couldn't swim. It was only a couple inches deep." She felt a small laugh rise in her chest. Her mother had many funny things to say about her father, he was scared to death of water for one. He also had no idea what to make of puppies, they made a lot of noise but had never been able to figure out were each one was. "Eventually, they grew to love one another over the course of a year. My father began to see the Tsurīrainpakku as his pack more then his birth pack. So, he revealed as many secrets as he knew. He left soon after, he never knew that my mother was pregnant. My mother was worried sick over were my father was, but my uncles calmed her down somehow. Fast forward a few months, there are puppy me, my brothers Justice, Cal, Ming, and my sister Nia." She felt like she might cry again now. This was a sad part, very sad. "My father's old pack attacked. They took my uncles, Mauku and Beijing who were the Alpha and Beta respectively. They were going to kill us too, until my mother told them who our father was. They let us live, but took my brother Cal. About a year later Justice left for the Forbidden Valley, convinced that he could save the east and maybe one day rebuild the peace if he had a power. He was the first in a long time to go, and soon after the West fell. My uncles were freed, and I was traveling with them until recently with my mother. Then we got separated and it was just me and my uncle, then we got separated again and.. I'm here. She smiled sheepishly at the long story. It's very long, I know." Then he said something about prey. "I could catch you one! Would you like me to?" Ao felt her fur fluff in surprise. Her cheeks flushed, That is the nicest thing anyone outside my family has ever offered to do for me.. "Yes! I mean, if it's not too much trouble."

Volka:
Ao proceeded to tell him her life story. Volka wasn't sure whether that was a bad thing or a good thing. For one, he had to listen to an overly long story, but at the same time, it showed how easily Ao was opening up to him. She was willing to go into so much detail for him. Volka now had a large amount of information about her origins to fall back on. She seemed fond of her parents, if a little frustrated that her father hadn't been around for her. Should he try to replicate the relationship that she described between her parents? Yes, that should definitely speed things up. So, he should remain friendly towards her, if a little more hesitant than with Hemera. He’d let her fall for him as he slowly “fell” for her.
As she smiled sheepishly at him, he smiled back, making eye contact as he responded, ”I don't mind. I like learning more about you.” Then Volka cleared his throat, standing as she moved on to respond to his rabbit question. He broke away from her gaze, as if feeling slightly awkward around Ao. ”Don't worry, there's tons around here.” Volka lifted his head, sniffing for rabbits. There! ”I think there are some this way! Come on!” He flashed another smile at Ao then bounded towards the origin of the scent. He paused, making sure she was following.

Ao: The silver she-wolf followed Volka, cautious with her nose raised to the wind. The scent was definitely of a rabbit. Thank goodness that the prey was the same here. She wasn't sure what she would do if they had winged rabbits or deer with three tails. That would be far too much for her mind to comprehend in a week. Or a month. Maybe a year. Okay her entire life, she would never get over how weird eating a bunny with wings was. Or a three tailed deer. Oh that would be so weird; but back to the task at hand. Hunting rabbits. She was going to hunt a rabbit and share it with Volka. Share a moment.
Creeping forwards and taking the lead, the silver she-wolf tensed. She was more then ready to pounce, but she must have made a noise. A rabbit came bursting out of the bush at breakneck speed. Ao was startled by the rabbit coming seemingly right at her. Her instincts took over, and she chased it. A few seconds later, the silver she-wolf had a bunny hanging limply from her jaws. She was at least happy that it wasn't blue or something. "At least the rabbits are normal, I was expecting polka dots." She smiled from behind the rabbit as she set it down.

Volka:
Ao overtook him as the rabbit scent grew stronger, probably eager to get some food. Volka had been planning to catch the food for her, but Ao seemed to be preparing to catch it herself. She crouched and Volka followed suit as to not scare away the rabbit she was stalking. With a sharp intake of breath and tensing muscles, Ao seemed like she was about to pounce. Perhaps the sound of that inhale tipped the rabbit off to her presence, for it barrelled out of the bushes. Unfortunately for the rabbit, it was speeding the wrong direction, straight towards the very predator that it was attempting to escape. The rabbit had made a fatal mistake. Ao galloped after the bunny and within a couple paces, her jaws closed around it.
”Great catch!” Volka congratulated. He trotted over to Ao as she dropped the dead rabbit. She made a comment about expecting polka dots. Volka v2 would find that funny, so he laughed. ”A polka dotted rabbit would be quite the sight. I suppose it’d seem as strange to me as us, valley wolves, seem to you.” He smiled at Ao. This relationship was progressing along perfectly so far.

"You are too kind, I only caught it because it ran into my jaws." Ao brushes off the compliment feeling rather sheepish, but her heart swells internally. She lifts her head, her smile widening somewhat at his laugh. It's nice to know he found her remark funny, even though she wasn't exactly trying to make him laugh. It's also nice to hear from a native wolf's mouth that prey animals aren't as technicolored as their predators. As far as she knows, this rabbit could've been born with natural colors, a mutant among brightly colored monstrosities. She dips her head again, sapphire eyes looking from the rabbit back to Volka.
"I know it isn't a tasty goose, but it is a rather large rabbit. Would you, perhaps, like to share it with me?" Her heart flutters slightly in soft, nervous beats. She flits her gaze down at the rabbit, her ears shifting back slightly, bashfully. "You do not have to if you do not want to, I just, might not be able to finish it and I would not like it to go to waste." It's an attempt at explaining her offer to herself as much as to Volka. She does not want to admit that she is letting the romantic in her take charge. It's just, Volka is sweet and kind, he listened to her family's history and showed interest, he sympathized, he wanted to hunt with her. Though it is far too early for there to be anything, perhaps, sharing more moments with each other could spark the beginning of something more. She shakes herself internally, okay, she's letting her romantic side take too much control, she barely knows him. Though, she feels that she'll love to get to know him. "Plus," She adds gently."I'd like to hear more about you and your family. Of course, if it doesn't pain you to speak of them more than you have. I understand if it does." Her eyes, again, trail up to look at Volka, sympathy swimming within their depths.

Ao suggested sharing her catch, but quickly backpedaled with an explanation. Volka chuckled softly and replied, ”I’d love a bite or two.” There was a short pause then in a more joking tone, he added, ”Even if it’s not a goose.” Ao was hooked. Volka noticed how she kept avoiding his gaze, bashfully, and when she did meet it, it seemed like she was enchanted by his eyes. She was definitely hooked. Now Volka just had to reel her in. She expressed the desire to know more about him. ”I’d love to talk more about them with you,” Volka hurriedly answered. He had to think fast. The stories she expected to hear had include enough details that they didn’t seem like lies. Perhaps, it’d be easier if he based them off reality. ”My sister that stayed with me the longest, her name was Ursa. She and I were very close. When we were pups, we would race all over the place. I usually won. She promised she would never leave my side and I hers. Then that male came along and swept her off her feet. I mean, I’m happy for her. She has a family, now, but she doesn’t really need me anymore. I used to go visit her, but she must’ve moved dens or something. Last time, I visited it, it was empty. Enough about that, though, wherever she is, I know she’s happy.” Volka took a bite of the rabbit they were sharing and watched Ao for her response, hoping she believed his story. But then again, what reason could she have for suspecting it was lie? Volka had been nothing, but kind and trustworthy.
