Blitz: Emerald orbs peered at the rushing water of the falls. The steady rhythm of the flowing water filling his ears. Paw by paw, he made his way toward the dampened edge of land. As the blue of the water consumed his concentration and the fall of water blocked out all other sounds, he set himself down on his rump. His eyes drifted slowly back and forth from dry land to dry land, his gaze watching the water tumble from the elevated ledge. If it wasn't for the splashes of crashing water, he may of even been able to hear the branches of the trees swaying back and forth in the wind. Fiery leaves swirled and danced around his head and landed on the water that was calmer. He had an odd fascination for water, rain and falling leaves. Although, most would think that rain was dreary and grey and ruined a day. He simply loved the sensation of the droplets of moisture soaking his bright fur. Running his mind through the memories of puddles and the damp, thick fur that clung to his body as a youthful pup. A small grin played on his maw as the heavens happened to open with a light sprinkle of rain. Perfect weather we are having. The bitter wind of the beginning winter whipped at his flaming orange pelt. No snow had yet fallen but he knew that the winter weather was coming thick and fast. Although he would find a great joy in just sitting in the rain and washing all his thoughts into the oblivion, he knew it was time to take a little bit of cover. Slowly he lifted his hindquarters, then the rest of his sleek build.
He blinked a few droplets of rain out of his eyes and scanned the immediate area for some sort of shelter to take cover under. A miniature patch of almost bare trees stood just to the right of the waterfall. With a slight shrug the male made his way toward the small trees. It will do for now. Find something better later. He ambled along for Blitz was in no such rush. There wasn't a need for rushing anyway. He spared a quick glance over his shoulder to see the beauty of the aqua falls one last time before he would catch some sleep and cover. With his grin widening for once again, he let himself fall into a comfortable heap of fur. With the steady patter of rain drumming at the ground and surroundings, sleep overcame him in an instant.

The rain was blissful. After a few days of irritating sunshine (she kept to the shadows), Delilah felt capable of strolling about as she pleased. It was an easy thing to take for granted, particularly for those who have always felt perfectly comfortable in their own skin. She ducked under the low-hanging branches of bushes, heavy with rainwater and dead leaves. Waterlogged foliage shimmered and wept in her wake, spilling water upon the ground in time with the rain. The noise, she found, was surprisingly pleasant. A smile—not an unfamiliar gesture, but still one that took some remembering—grew across her face as she went. Delilah, out in broad daylight, felt powerful.
It was cold, but her thick, dark fur kept her amply warm, even as the breeze ripped down the last of autumn's leaves. She squinted against it but could not stop her bright, neon pink (they seemed... bloodless) eyes from streaming with tears. Delilah blinked them away and soldiered on, her head tucked down against her chest. It was imperative to find cover—although she could still make out vague shapes, her vision was blurred and untrustworthy. Delilah closed her eyes and scented the air, taking a moment to stand completely still. The forest fed her a variety of information: to the east, a family of rabbits. The overwhelming smell of water, water, everywhere covered everything—the rabbits were not only rabbits, they were wet rabbits. Delilah wrinkled her nose and shook her head, scattering more rain.
She lowered her body closer to the ground and picked up the pace, her deft paws picking a safe path through the trees. Ahead, she heard the thunderous crash of yet more water. Out of the storm and into...? Once she broke into the clearing, she coughed in surprise—the waterfall was tremendous, its strength breathtaking. She had been her once, maybe, when she was younger, but the memory was lost before she could catch it. No matter. Delilah spotted the copse of trees just as Blitz had, though she was unable to see him sleeping peacefully through the driving rain. Having made up her mind, she padded around the falls and made her way towards tree cover.
Once she was underneath the trees, she smelled it: stranger—not just stranger, wet stranger. Delilah smirked to herself—everything under the sun was wet, today, it seemed—but kept to herself. Maybe, if she was quiet enough, she wouldn't disturb him...
Keeping him in the corner of her eyes, Delilah retreated to the furthest tree and curled up beneath it, her head upon her paws. She could bolt if he proved threatening, but she remained blissful and unconcerned. Today, she felt powerful.

Blitz A dreamless darkness surrounded him, a silent nap without a nightmare to haunt him. Half awake, he rolled around slightly side to side in a swaying motion. The ever falling rain melding into his dreamless darkness and a faint rustle of bushes didn't seem to disturb him even. Loving this state of almost awake, he continued to sway. Although he wasn't quite aware of his surroundings, he could feel a small grin playing on his maw. The rain, the oddly fascinating beauty of it made his mind swirl with joy. Of course, he couldn't stay all day. There was a whole valley to explore in such little time! With a slight bit of annoyance, the male forced himself to open his eyes. All his vision was cloudy and blurred which was quite unreliable. With a few blinks he cleared his emerald orbs enough for them at least not to play too many tricks on him.
With a quick scan of the area he concluded that he was still alone. Not that it was a terrible thing to have company of course. He deemed his nose was useless to try and sniff anything out in the damp weather and he really didn't give a dam if there was someone there anyway, turned out to be a terrible wolf, he could always fight if need be. To him life wasn't all about worrying about what might happen next, we just needed to live life in the present. With that last thought, he gave out a light yawn and clumsily staggered onto his numb paws. Time for adventure, time to find danger and keep exploring! As he stepped lightly out of the half-bare shade the tree had provided, an odd black clump caught the corner of his vision. The male's head tilted in curiosity and stepped toward the weirdly place figure without a second thought. With a half leap, half trip Blitz padded over to the black shape was perched.
"Hello there." His tone was neutral, not threatening but not overly welcoming either. "Coming out to enjoy the rain?" The question was genuine, he was really wondering if this odd clump of wetness enjoyed the rain like he did. Although he thought that it would be fairly useless, he used his maw to sniff the ball of darkness. Wet, wolf? Just behind him, a wave of water soaked his coat and drenched him beyond belief. He blinked in surprise and and slight pleasure. With a small chuckle, he seated himself not far from the wet ball of fur and patiently waited for a reply.

Delilah watched him sleep, a bemused smile on her face. He slept like a pup—swaying gently, unabashedly dreaming. It was a pleasant thing to see and reminded her of simpler times. A male at his most vulnerable was always an interesting sight, regardless of context. Her bright pink eyes were filled with good humor and delight; from her resting place, she was safe to observe. When he opened his eyes, Delilah tensed imperceptibly. It was not that she could see his open eyes, but rather, she could make out the change in his body from resting to a sort of near-wakefulness. Alertness was required of her.
She recoiled slightly as the male bounded closer, noting his clumsiness. This worked in her favor. Delilah, naturally suspicious, tried to work every outcome of the situation. While suspicious, she was a creature that tended toward logic: he didn't carry himself in a threatening manner, and so he was not deemed a threat (until otherwise noted).
"Hello there..." Delilah's ears perked. She gazed up at him dolefully from the ground and did not rise to meet him—she felt more comfortable here, at any rate, and her eyes still streamed slightly. It was easier to make him out from an unconventional vantage point. "Hello," replied Delilah, allowing him to scent her without protest. She returned the favor in kind, but received about as much information. The rain swallowed all pertinent details.
Her eyes widened a bit as Blitz withstood the wave of water—seemed to enjoy it, even. What a strange male, but she supposed they all were, in their own way. Delilah tilted her head to the side, "Are you a wolf or a fish?" His antics put her at ease, despite her inability to entirely see him. "Certainly only fish are out and about in this weather."

Blitz: The she wolf seemed a cautious one, considering his every move. He didn't mind in the slightest but observed and took it in. She seemed almost pitch black in colour which seemed it would help blend into the shadows and darkness, good camouflage really. Although the rain was still falling and it was useless, he shook his coat lightly, spraying water everywhere possible and he was careful not to dreanch the female. "Certainly only fish are out and about in this weather." The she wolf had replied. "If that is so, then I guess you could call me one then." He chuckled lightly in the attempts to try to erase any tension and fear in the air. "Are you a wolf or a fish?" She had followed it up with. "I just love water." He gave a slight shrug. "But I assure you, I am a just another wolf." His usual grin played on his maw once again. With a few swift glances he took in her figure and her neon pink eyes.
With a light yawn, he gave her a question of his own to answer. "Do you live around here or are you more of a traveller?" The male was wondering if this neon eyed wolf loved adventure as much as he did on top of it but didn't want to scare her off with a barrage of questions. A thought sprung to him, he hadn't even introduced himself or given her a name to go by! The she wolf seemed friendly enough for his liking anyway. "Oh, I am Blitz by the way, just so you know." His tone was friendly and open. His eyes drifted from rock to rock, tree to tree, he was pretty relaxed here and he wanted something to do without moving so this was the best he could do. With his legs being a little stiff from sleep he began to stretch them slightly while remaining seated. It was nice in the rain, although, it had come to a drizzle and it seemed it intended to stop sometime soon. He had surprised himself on how well he had been able to keep most of his questions to himself and hadn't gone and just blurted them all out all in the same moment.
With one last stretch he regained his posture of casually sitting in front of her. Although she was mostly black (from what he could see), she was a fair in looks but not the kind of stunning that struck him down. Looks weren't really what he saw in friends and even love if it came, it was all about their personality and actions. From the small information he had gathered so far, she seemed like a potential friend or at least an acquaintance. Although he wasn't the most social wolf in the land he liked to chat and wouldn't mind a friend he could take on adventures and explore. He hoped that this female might be that exact wolf.

"Okay..." Delilah replied slowly, "I will call you Fish." There was a mischievous glint in her eyes. It had been a long time since she had felt in control of a situation, but with the decent cloud cover, she was able to open her eyes wide and take it all in. There were no shadowy figures or half-hidden threats—it was all laid out before her, Blitz included; good humor was in order. "I just love water." Delilah laughed lowly and stretched out her front paws, curving her tail and rear towards the sky in a full-body stretch. "That makes exactly one of us." For good measure, she gave her coat a thorough shake. Water flew everywhere, but it was barely noticeable in the steady rainfall; it simply joined what fell from the sky.
"Nope—any creature that loves water this much is definitely a fish, Fish," Delilah reasserted as she stood up through her stretch. She sat herself down before him, the full glare of her neon pink eyes defiant. "Do you live around here..." This question gave her pause—there wasn't a strictly good answer for it, as she 'lived' wherever she happened to find herself resting for the night. It had been a long time since she had been with family, and longer still—before her eyes had opened—that she had been part of a pack. Her dimmest memories were crowded dens, stuffy caves—but they were happy ones, filled with darkness and quiet and love. "I live around here," she answered. It was true. More or less. "And my name is Delilah, Fish."
His open demeanor made her feel more at ease. She was no longer tensed to run, but seemed willing to entertain him for as long as he kept her interest. The rain had lessened, which pleased her, but the clouds remained, which pleased her immensely. Delilah blinked, long and slow, allowing herself to savor the rare treat of a world fully seen. The fur underneath her eyes and at the corners was a bit matted from the previous day; the late autumn sunlight had been blinding, and she had made the mistake of sleeping without cover. After opening her eyes in the broad sunlight, they had streamed all day and left her dazzled; it was with great difficulty that she had stumbled towards a copse of trees and then deeper, deeper into the woods... until the rain had come and the sounds of the falls had beckoned her onwards.
"What do fishes do for fun, then? Must be vastly different from wolves—can't hunt, after all, if they're always swimming." She allowed herself a small, genuine smile.

Blitz: "I will call you Fish." The female had said to him, in good humour. This made him laugh, a genuine one at that. "Call me what you like." He replied casually, actually happy with his odd new nickname. Fish, it suited him in a way, liking water and all. With a few blinks, he cleared out the rain in eyes and raised his gaze toward the sky. The bleakness of grey around him made his fur stand out like a sore paw. Not that he cared either way, sticking out or not. The weather looked like it was taking a turn for the worst, well maybe only in his opinion, it was probably a different story all together for this she-wolf. Sadly, the rain was beginning to slow even past the standards of a drizzle. At least the sight may attract some of the critters out, rain was far from a favourite for most. Blitz pulled his head back down and let the female come back into view. They began to stretch, for a small while, from muzzle to tail. Her legs bent as she leaned towards the ground with her snout and her tail lifted high into the air as if it were reaching for the sky. She finished off with an extensive shake of fur, the water being flung into mid air before crashing to the ground with the rest of the light rainfall.
"Nope—any creature that loves water this much is definitely a fish, Fish." The female continued to prove that he was a fish, not a wolf while standing from her stretch. Who knows, maybe I am secretly a fish? His head shook lightly, but unnoticed, at the odd thought of him being an actual fish. Part fish? Well, maybe he could believe that at the very least. The she-wolf had seated herself before him. The male's mind wandered from the current situation at hand, to one his favourite memories of pup-hood. He remembered his small paws padding along the deep snow, occasionally falling and digging himself deeper into the white powder. Him pulling himself out and making it over to the falls to meet the other pups and compete with them. A friendly competition he and his friends liked to call, Snowball Hurling. It was a simple concept really, they would gather a snowball, around the same size as each other. Then, take it in turns tossing it into Wilderwater Falls and seeing who could throw the furthest. As the memory faded, he could feel a small grin sitting upon his face that he had not noticed before.
The male kept the smile as the she-wolf went on to answer his simple question plainly. "I live around here," He wondered how long and if she had been here since she was a pup. He looked into her neon eyes that seemed to tell him the answers, The female had been here long enough to know the area somewhat but she had not but she had not been here since pup-hood. She then continued to introduce herself. "And my name is Delilah, Fish." His grin widened more so, from ear to ear. She really loves using that name, doesn't she? "Fish..." The joyful male tried it under his breath. A light breeze blew in his face, his fur flapping softly in the wind. Unexpectedly, a large leaf blew in his face and blinded him. He gave a yelp of surprise before brushing the lone piece of foliage away with a paw. The male gave her a sheepish grin. "Uh, sorry about that."
"What do fishes do for fun, then? Must be vastly different from wolves—can't hunt, after all, if they're always swimming." Blitz decided to go wild with his response. "Does cliff diving sound fun? 'Cause this fish wants to go plunge into those falls where he belongs."
