As the incoming storm grew louder with each sounds of rumbling thunder, Veter looked behind him again and the wind suddenly got stronger. Snow from the ground got lifted up with the wind and went dancing around the two wolves spiraling away. The elder took a moment to feel the breeze on his fur before moving again. Wind meant that the the clouds would be moving faster and thus, meant that the storm was getting closer. A heavy sighed came out and the older wolf went to look up. Again, those clouds were getting darker and darker. The wolf was getting worried that they weren't going to find anyplace to hide before the storm. Turning his attention back at Blitz, he began moving faster to catch up to him. He had been moving slower mostly because he would stop often to look behind them.
Veter was going to say something when Blitz began speaking. So they were indeed lucky today. The elder took another look at the sky and squinted tying to calculate the distance between them and the clouds. He felt bad for anyone would be trapped outside right now. Another heavy sigh came out and he went closer to his new friend and took a look at the burrow. It seemed to be larger enough for the both of them. but if it weren't he would have gladly let the younger wolf take it. Unlike him, Blitz still had a long life to live and Veter was just an old wolf. Beside, it wouldn't be his first storm outside. Fortunately, it seemed that it was large enough for his heavy frame and the other wolf. As he reached the entrance of the burrow, he also went ahead to smell it. There were no distinct smell at all so that was perfect. But maybe it was just the cold that was hiding the scent. But with the storm coming, he was going to take the chance and just go inside. Seeing that he was the bigger of the two, it might be better for them for him to get in first.
"Do you mind me getting inside first?" He asked to make sure that it was alright with Blitz. "It will be easier for us two to fit in if I go first. And it will also show us if it's really big enough for the both of us." Right now, Veter wasn't very happy to be heavier than the younger wolf. It was still surprising that he didn't get much smaller as he grew older and older. He certainly didn't gain weight, or maybe he did gain a pound or two but nothing noticeable. After making sure that Blitz was okay with him going first, the elder lowered his body to get in and try to hug the side and look if Blitz could come in as well. And what did you know? It should be large enough. They might be very close to each other but they should both fit.
"I hope you don't mind being that close to an old wolf." He said while smiling. He sure didn't mind being so close to another wolf but maybe it was because he was older. Veter tried to lay down very awkwardly to take as little space as possible while trying to be comfortable. Well, he wasn't that comfortable but it was juts until the storm goes away. Which might take minutes or hours. "Come on in." He gently said as he moved his large body as far as he could into the burrow. He would then wait for Blitz to get as comfortable as possible before trying to do the same. "Thank you, Blitz." He would then say. "You didn't have to help an old wolf like me but you did. And for that, I have to thank you." And he lowered his head softly.
"And now we wait." He simply added. He could see the wind picking up from the burrow. The snow would move around in front of them and then another round of thunder could be heard. At worse, they would have to dig themselves out after the storm but it were way worse that being trapped in a burrow. Digging out wouldn't be that hard. But then, Blitz might be the one doing that after. The entrance was just large enough for one at a time. "Hopefully, we would not spend hours in here." And he yawned. "Being in the same position for too long would be bad for my old bones." he admitted while laughing. Moving too much was also bad but staying in such small space wasn't very good.
"Do you happen to have some stories to tell, my friend?" Veter would ask. "Or do you prefer silence?" He didn't wanted to sound demanding with all his questions but seeing that they would be here, might as well make it friendly.
