Zeus:
The warming sunshine poked through the gray cast sky as a larger stormy pelted wolf trudged through the woods. His fur was matted down and dripping wet at his elbows and knees from the melting landscape that he had been walking through for a good hour now. Most of the snow was melting in large puddles of sopping grass and earth, but some white patches still survived under the shadows of the trees. Spring was upon the valley, and this brought a feeling of new life and rebirth as green buds could be seen poking through on branches of trees, and animal life was slowly awaking from their long slumbers. Zeus couldn't have felt more happy with himself in this season of the valley, since his life changing experience with the great White Wolf Sheba, spring would always hold a significant meaning to him. It was the time of rebirth, and new life, and that's exactly what Sheba had given him instead of taking his life, a second chance, a chance to start over. The pale scar that curved over the right side of his face glowed silver in the sunlight, and Zeus could feel the exposed flesh obsorbing the sun's heat. It made him proud, as if the great Sheba was still touching him, as if her presence was still by his side. He carried the mark of Sheba, and it constantly reminded him of his service and duty to do her will.
Every step he took sloshed on the mushy ground, and his soaking wet black paws kicked up splatters of mud. The ground slowly inclined, reducing the amount of sitting puddles and wet mud, as Zeus made his way to the Wildflower Clearing where Hemera and her son should be safely sleeping in a temporary den that he had dug for them at the edge of the clearing. The season had made the ground too wet to dig a below the surface den, so Zeus had resorted to clearing out the inside of a hallow tree that had been split in half by a lightning bolt. How ironic, Sheba must have been looking out for him and his sister.
It had been a great while since Zeus had seen all of his siblings except Hemera whom he had stayed with once he found out that the wretched liar, Volka, had intentionally abandoned her even when she was still carrying his offspring. Volka would pay for is actions, Zeus would make sure of it. The rest of his siblings had all gone their separate ways though, and Zeus had no idea if he would see them again, or randomly run into them. That was one area he was worried about. What if seeing his siblings again would make him fall back to what he used to be like? He didn't want that to happen, his new purpose was still fresh to him, and he didn't know how tender he still was. Only time would tell.
The clearing came into view and he stopped at the edge and shook his fur, sending water droplets everywhere. The lightning struck tree was at the edge of the tree line and Zeus trotted over to the hollowed out trunk. Snow was packed around the sides no longer white, but browned from the mud and moist bark that lay scattered in heaps from when he dug it out. He poked his nose in the dark hole and whispered, "Hemera?" Wondering if she was awake.

Hemera & Laden:
The sunset colored she wolf laid in the den that her older brother had dug out for her. That was when she had been expecting little Laden. She couldn't hate her only son considering she had lost her other pup and that she held a dislike for Volka. The unfaithful, slimy he wolf. She watched Laden crawl about the inside of the den. She had refused to let the little he wolf out til her older brother,Zeus, had returned. So she got to listen to her gray and blue son as he played with her tail. She had been woken up because of him wanting to play and she didn't much mind it. She flicked tail back and forth smiling some as she watched him hop after it.
"Ha I got it"Laden exclaimed with his ears pricked and his tail high. The small pup even though young for him to notice he often took notice of his mother's moods going from happy to depressed and he often tried to find out why though she would never tell him. He watched as Hemera pricked her ears and his pricked as well as he heard the whisper. Eagerly Laden moved peeking to where he could see his uncle in the entrance."Uncle Zeus your back!"He said tail whisking back and forth as he made his way up the hole though his legs somewhat a bit shaky still."mom wouldn't let me come outside til you got back! Now I can! Right? Right?!"he asked hopping at the entrance his eyes sparkling with excitement.
Hemera ears perked as she heard her brothers voice and she smiled some"yes?"She said sitting up but that was all she could get out before her eager son went up and to Zeus. Heaving herself to her paws much to her own inner complaint she smiled"yeah he's been wanting to go out since he woke up...."She said flicking her ear quietly.

Zeus:Hemera was not the first answer that Zeus heard, it was his nephew Laden. The squeaky voice called out to Zeus and the small bundle of gray and blue fur came wobbling to the den entrance and stuck his nose out at the great gray male. With a growing smile, Zeus listened to the young pup complain about mom not letting him go outside then laughed and then spoke with his deep voice, "Yes, now you can, but you must always listen to what your mother says." Her reached his great big head into the hole and pinched his incisors around the scruff of the small pup and lifted him out. Zeus softly set his nephew down and lowered his body to the ground, his long forelegs were stretched out on either side, and little Laden sat in the middle. "It's story time with Uncle Zeus while mother goes out hunting." The large male turned his attention from the pup and looked over at his younger sister who had a sad glimmer in her eyes even though she managed a smile. Zeus gave her a sympathetic smile to comfort her, he knew she was still taking the loss of her still born son very hard. It wasn't easy for Zeus to bury the precious body, but nature wasn't always the giving force of life, she also takes away. After another moment in silent sympathy, Zeus then turned back to the anxious puppy that was bouncing up and down with excitement. "Okay Laden, you're ready for the story aren't you?" A toothy grin spread across Zeus' face as he looked down at the small pup in between his paws. "Once upon a time..." He began, and a flood of memories came to his disposal ready to tell the legend of... "The Gift of Sheba".
"Once upon a time, there was a very proud wolf. He was a mighty wolf, and he thought he was greater and stronger than any other wolf in the entire valley. This proud wolf had other siblings too, and he thought he was better than all of them, but he wanted to make sure that he was truly the strongest and wisest of all his brothers and sisters, so he set out to receive a power. This power would surely make him the greatest of the siblings, but he had to climb a mountain to find the giver of power. The mountain was tall and steep, and every possible danger was against him, but the proud wolf knew that he had to make it to the top, so he fought against every danger and and struggle that came in his way. He was a strong wolf indeed, but he could only be the strongest if he received the power.
After every danger was faced and beaten, the proud wolf finally made it to the top of the mountain, and there in a dark mammoth cave at the mountain's peak lived the great goddess of the valley. The great White Wolf Sheba. She was the largest most beautiful being the proud wolf had ever seen. She had the purest of pure white fur that glowed like fresh snow on the first winter morning, and her eyes sparkled like diamonds that reflected hundreds of rainbows in the clearest of blue skies. Her gaze held the sovereignty of the universe and her appearance was an eternal specimen. She was surely the giver of power. Any other wolf would have bowed before her superiority, but the proud wolf was too selfish and full of himself that he didn't even show his respect for her but rudely demanded to be given a power from her.
The great White Wolf Sheba was appalled by the proud wolf's actions and grew suddenly angry, very very angry. Her beautiful rainbow eyes turned the color of blood red and raged like the wildest of forest fires. Her shining white fur grew dark and ghostly like a moon and starless night that would never see the sun's rising. She spoke to the proud wolf and her voice thundered with rage that shook the heavens. She said, "Wolf, how dare you come to me, the giver of power, and demand with such disrespect a gift that I freely give to the wolves of the valley. I will teach you a lesson!" With that Sheba transported herself and the proud wolf to a silver pool that lay below her cave, and when they reappeared next to the pool's edge, Sheba commanded him to look over the water and tell her what he saw. The proud wolf did so, but he only saw his normal reflection. He was annoyed with the great White Wolf, and in his haughty attitude, he refused to answer her question, and again demanded to be given a power.
Sheba had had enough of the proud wolf's disrespect, and she roared at the skies. They answered her with booms of thunder and blinding flashes of lightning. The earth also trembled as if the entire mountain was crumbling, and it was. A great boulder was broke loose from the mountain and cast down upon the proud wolf, a giant wave of ice and water crashed down on him, and fire raged all around him, but the paw of Sheba was held over the scared wolf who was no longer proud. Not a pebble or a drop of water touched him, for Sheba had caused the elements not to harm him. Then she spoke to him, "You are an unworthy, ungrateful wolf who does not deserve to be alive in the valley of the White Wolves. You do not deserve the life you are living, but you also do not deserve to die, not today. Your life is mine, and I have given it to you as a gift. Never forget that." The wolf, no longer proud, looked over the water of the silver pool once again and saw his reflection. It was different this time, he was a different wolf, a changed wolf, a new wolf. He had been given a gift from Sheba, and it was the gift of his life." Zeus sighed as story time came to an end. His tail had curled up at his side but the gray pup still lay between his paws and looked up at him with a transfixed gaze.

Hemera & Laden:
Hemera watched as her brother focused hid attention to her son and his nephew Laden. She was thankful as he did so. As he mentioned hunting she nodded and snuck past quietly to go hunting out a little bit aways. She was never gone long and always came back with a rabbit or a small mouse. She flicked her colorful tail. Often when she hunted she would think about what she had done wrong and what she shouldn't have fell for but then she would return and focus as best she could to the family she had. As she headed off she had heard Zeus as he started his story. She could guess or already knew the story was about her brother but she couldn't help but listen for a moment. Zeus in her mind was a great storyteller and she was glad he stayed with her. She didn't know if she would have made it thus far without him.
Laden had let him pick him up. Once placed in between his uncle's paws he grinn his white teeth that were still coming in showed through his black muzzle. His green and blue eyes focused on his uncle"ok uncle Zeus I will"he said honestly. He wouldn't have a problem listening to his mother. He wanted be as he saw Zeus. He had took notice of how he took to helping his mother and he wanted to do so too even more so because how his mother almost always seemed to collapse in on herself, emotionally. He could tell even though she tried hard to hide this from him. Though one thing he had never asked but wondered was where was his father if he wasn't there. The stone gray and blue pup listened to Zeus story with rapt attention as he settled down laying down while he looked up at his uncle. Once the story was over he wafted his tail and stood or rather jumped to his paws"so what happened to the wolf after ,uncle Zeus?"he asked curious.

Zeus:
Zeus had already begun telling the legend to the eager Laden, but from the corner of his eye he could see his sister standing off to the side and listening along to the story he was telling. Hemera had already heard the story before, but she enjoyed how much Zeus exasperated the details and made every part of it interesting. He noticed her colorful coat pass by in his peripheral vision as she silently left for her lone hunting trip.
With dramatic expressions, and loud sound affects, Zeus told the story, and his heart couldn't have been happier when he saw how intrigued and intent Laden was in the legend. His tail thumped excitedly on the ground when the tall tale came to an end. Laden however, was still very curious about the proud wolf who had been made new, and asked in his hipper voice that squeaked with every syllable, what had happened to the wolf. A hardy laugh rippled up from Zeus' throat and a queer glint shone in his electric blue eyes as he looked down at his young nephew.
"You want to know what the wolf did with the gift that Sheba gave him? Well..." He began, tilting his head up as if thinking for a moment while staring off into the sky. "The wolf didn't become any stronger or any more powerful, but he did become greater. He became an ambassador for Sheba. A messenger for the great White Wolf." Zeus sighed and let the awesomeness sink in to the small mind of the pup. He wouldn't understand that answer until he was older, and Zeus wasn't going to try and explain everything to the pup now. Even now, Laden probably didn't think the legend was even true, but Zeus would make sure that he knew that Sheba was true, very true indeed. The he-wolf's eyes grew with a reverent passion as he lowered his head to Laden's level and looked him straight in his heterochromic eyes and spoke with a deep serious tone, "One day Laden, when you are old enough, I will take you to go and receive a gift from Sheba. I promise." His serious gaze rested on the small pup for a moment longer before a wide grin broke his solemn expression and his paw came down in a tackling motion on top of the little rascal, shoving him to the ground in a gentle playful action.

You want to know what the wolf did with the gift that Sheba gave him? Well..." Laden heard him say and the he pup nodded his head standing up ever so slightly eager to hear his answer. Though his answer some what confused him for a moment his green and blue eyes filled with slight confusion"what's an ambassador uncle Zeus?"he asked. Though he watched his uncle closely he took note of his seriousness as he said his next sentence and Laden's ears pricked"whe is real?"he asked somewhat surprised bit curious if he would get a power.

Zeus:
The blue and gray pup had so much curiosity in his large heterochromic eyes, and it made Zeus swell with pride as he taught Laden the legends of the mountain. He felt a sense of responsibility and he realized that this is what it felt like to be a father, except it was his sister's son. The large gray male only thought for a moment about what it would be like to have a family of his own and raise pups, before his thoughts were quickly changed. He had a mission to focus on, a mission for the great White Wolf Sheba. He didn't have time to dabble in the fancies in life; relationships and a family, his life was already set up for him.
Laden's question dragged Zeus out of his mental state and his great head turned to the small fur ball. "An ambassador? An ambassador is someone who brings the business of their leader wherever they go." He smiled at the pup, "You'll understand when you get older." Zeus added as he ruffled his big paw on top of the small boy's head, flattening his ears.
"Of Course she is real! There is nothing in the entire valley that is greater than her, only her sister's are her equals." Zeus raised his rump in the air while his paws stayed on the ground around the pup. His tail began to sway in the air, slowly beating faster and faster. "But first, you have to get strong enough to even climb the mountain, so you better get strong!" With a huge smile on his face, Zeus began to play with the pup.

An ambassador? An ambassador is someone who brings the business of their leader wherever they go. Laden heard him say and blinked before his ears perked at his uncle's next words."She has sisters... who are the sisters?"He asked jumping to his paws tail stirring up the air behind him as his tail wagged. "And why not now I'm strong enough"He said puffing his chest out before he played with Zeus he batted his paws his green and blue eyes shining."I'm strong enough to climb a mountain you sure I can't go now Uncle Zeus?"He asked curiously. He liked the idea of going to gain a power. To do so so he could protect his mother later on.

Zeus:
Laden had question after question for his uncle to answer, and Zeus was surprised that his patience held. If any of his siblings would have asked him so many questions at a time, he would have had their tongue ripped out before an acorn dropped. It must have been his changed life and the preciousness of his dear nephew that had given him an unlimited supply of patience and gentleness.
"Yes, sisters. Two of them, there are three great White Wolves that live in caves on top of the mountain. One is named Taboo, and she is the goddess of the good wolves, Sheba is the goddess over the neutral wolves, and the third, Geist, she is evil." Zeus was partial for Laden to grow up to be a neutral wolf, and he didn't want it to even be an option for the small pup to choose which path he followed. Neutrality was how Laden would be raised.
Zeus rolled over on his back, his hind paws pointed to the sky and his front paws tossing the fur ball of a pup into the air. Laden landed in the middle of Zeus' broad chest with a giant smile on his face. His little voice squeaked, and Zeus chuckled, his massive lungs inhaling an immense amount of air and bouncing the pup with each laugh. "Oh you're strong little Laden, but you are not ready to receive a power yet." His chin was pressed to his throat as he craned to look at the small pup laying on his chest, a twinkle lit his eyes as he smiled at the small thing. "Don't worry Laden, I will take you when you are ready. Remember, I promised you." He tossed the gray and blue pup back into the air until his little squeaks came out of his smiling mouth.

Laden listened as he spoke about the other two goddesses and he blinked his two different colored eyes. His blue and green eyes closed for a moment before he wagged his tail"I want to be just like you when I grow up"he finally piped up looking up at his uncle. "Especially how you stayed around for momma"he said tail wagging. He then blinked as he was bounced and let out a small laugh of excitement."I'll remember that"He said smiling showing his little white teeth."your going to stay with me and momma for a while though right you won't leave?"he asked.

Zeus:
Every time the little pup let out a laugh of joy, Zeus' heart overflowed with complete happiness and his smile grew even bigger. His sister's pup had given him so much more purpose in his dull life of resentment and vanity. Sheba had surly beaten the attitude out of him, but his heart had truly been changed for the better when Laden entered his life.
Zeus laugh, "Just like me, Huh?" His eyes watched the small pup as his tail beat the air, but his mind was playing his life out in his head. All of the regretful past decisions, all of the selfish words and foolish actions, none of them Zeus wanted Laden to become like. He frowned when his nephew mention his mother and how Zeus had chosen to stay with her unlike her other siblings. That was the one thing that Laden had seen of his uncles unpleasant life, and he found it worthy of following after. This put a new smile on the he-wolf's gray muzzle, a higher importance on the life he was living around Laden. The pup was watching his every action and word toward Hemera and any other wolf, thinking before doing wasn't just some saying now.
"Leaving, why would I ever want to leave you or your mom?" He rolled over and the pup fell at his side."You are too much of a troublemaker to be left with just mom to take care of you." Zeus raised his nose to the air as he laid on his stomach, the scent of Hemera seemed to be near, she must have been coming back from her hunt.

Laden tail wagged as it was held high as he looked to his uncle to him he was the only one he could consider close to a father even if he was his uncle. He watched ever move and listened to every word. He wanted to be like him and unlike whoever his father truly was. He didn't know and one day he would want to know but he did t want to know now. "Yeah exactly like you and I'm glad you aren't leaving!"he said. Only them did he blink realizing his uncle called him a troublemaker "I am not a troublemaker"he barked but smiled. Only them did he stop as he caught the smell of food and then his mother.
Sure enough Hemera had returned caring at least three rabbits. They weren't too fat but it would feed them and get them full."I brought back some food"She said. Ever since the group had separated Hemera had been getting better at her hunting not because she wanted to but because she had to.

Zeus;
A genuine laugh came out of Zeus’ open maw when Laden replied with his innocent little voice. ”Maybe not a trouble maker, but you sure are a handful little Laden.” The large gray wolf stood up to his full height that towered over the tiny pup, and he rubbed his giant black paw on the head of the squirming, tail wagging pup. Zeus’ own tail was swaying high in the air as well, the joy of the moment was contagious and it filled the small area that they played in.
As Zeus had sensed, Hemera had been close by and soon appeared from beyond the tree line with fresh kills in her grip. Her hunt had been successfully, that was for sure, and from the look of her face, she had needed that time to herself. ”Welcome back Hemera.” Zeus dipped his head, a large smile still on his face as she spoke. ”It sure looks like it, good job little sis, you keep getting better.” The he-wolf trotted over to his sister and grabbed a limp carcass from her, tossing it over to the pup. ”Laden’s going to become a mighty hunter someday too, but he’s got to get good at it.” A playful growl slipped through his bared smile as he play-bowed to his nephew, ”Attack your prey Laden! Don’t let it escape!” With that, Zeus snatched up the same hare carcass and tossed it a little further.

Laden:
The little gray and blue pup blinked as he heard his uncle laugh and he puffed his little chest out"I am not...i just want to explore and mom won't let me"he spoke only because he wouldn't admit he was a handful. As he was put back onto his own paws . Though he didn't mu h expect the shadow that fell over him just before his uncle's paw rubbed his head."Hey!"he squeaked in surprise before the pup ducked down and out of reach or at least that's what he thought. Though his thoughts desytacyed the he pup bounced on his paws and scrambled over to his mother."mom your back!"he yipped tail wagging.
Hemera:
Hemera smiled setting the carcasses down. The sunrise colored she wolf's tail wagged as her brother and her son came over both very happy which made her even more happy her thoughts distracted."thanks i..have been practicing. I'll need to since you won't always be around"She said. Though she blinked and nodded"of course"she said"we don't need him being like me...i was too dependant on you and the others"She said before sitting down watching Laden run after the prey that had been tossed his little pink tongue hanging from his mouth.
Laden:Laden gave chase after the hare that was thrown. He pounced on it at first before he nibbled on it growling slightly as his uncle took it and three it before he gave chase after it latching his small jaw on it and shook it.

Zeus;
Zeus smiled and sat up when the pup took off after his meal, attacking the carcass like a true little hunter. His eyes glinted with pleasure at watcheing the happiness of the pup, but his expression changed when Hemera spoke up about him not being there. ”Hemera,” Zeus began, a stern note to his already deep voice. ”I’m not going to be leaving you any time soon. Remember I said I’d take care of you and your son until you’re able to manage on your own.” The older brother walked back over to his sister and looked down on her with caring eyes that glowed with sympathy. Zeus didn’t know why his little sister was always so hard on herself, but he hated when she made it sound like she was the problem. Maybe she was still feeling the regret and pain that Volka had left on her, maybe she had felt this way even before she had met Volka. Zeus wasn’t sure, but he had had enough of seeing Hemera down in the dumps, he wanted to help her step out of her doubts, and if that meant staying with her until Laden was grown, then that’s what he would do.
”Hemera, you’re not a burden. You never were. Maybe to Nox or Khoine, but never to me.” Zeus took his place next to his little sister and sat and watched the pup mangling the hare carcass. The pup was surely a sight of joy, and Zeus was going to use Laden to bring his mother around. ”Laden looks up to me Hemera, he told me he wants to be just like me when he grows up. Be that kind of a model for him too. He needs to know how strong his mother is even when the circumstances are tough.” Turning his gaze away from the playing pup, Zeus again looked down on his sister, ”And if not for Laden, then do it for me.” He dropped his gaze and nudged one of the other two hares closer to his sister. ”Here, eat up. You’re probably hungry from hunting.”
