An owl cried in the darkness, piercing the silent night with a screech that sounded eerie and distant, like a lost soul searching for the light. The air was cold and damp, and the touch of the hard stone under Gale's toes felt like ice. Above his lurking figure loomed the dark mountain that silhouetted the starry night, it's great shadow cast out over the valley like a curtain of darkness. Gale glanced around him, his silvery eyes keen on the hidden corners and crannies that could possibly be hiding danger. His nose was alert to any scents that passed by him, as he leaped up the mountainside on his way to the caves of the White Wolves.
Gale knew about the White Wolves that ruled the valley with their superior powers. He heard stories about them growing up, that they were the turning pieces of the circle that ruled life, the good neutral and evil that possessed the world. The sisters that were constantly against each other's plans. Gale knew that the only way that he could help fight the war of restoring peace to the world was to seek advice from the one who knew the eternal wisdom of goodness. Advice, and a gift of power that could possibly help win the war.
With a panting tongue lulling out the side of his mouth, Gale reached the place of the White Wolves' caves. There were three, but Gale was confident about knowing which one was Taboos' for it was smooth stone and it had a clean appearance. With confidence in his step, Gale walked to the entrance and stopped. "Taboo, I am here to seek your wisdom." He called out with a voice that broke the dark silence of the night.

Taboo was outside of her den, the full moon amplifying her brightness in the darkness. The stars were cold and bright, shining their chilly rays onto the snow driven world. The mountain on which she sat cut a harsh shadow onto the valley, enveloping a large portion of the grasslands and forests in its incredibly opaque shadow. The white wolf observed the valley, the cold air that clasped its clammy hands around the valley struggled to maintain the mirage of silence and slumber, however Taboo could not be fooled so easily.
The forests carpeting her slope were alive with the enchanting calls of owls chasing after nocturnal weasels and skittering rodents that tunneled under and through the icy floor of snow. And besides those smaller creatures, Caribou, ever vigilant kept watch in the night. For even these white breasted beasts knew, this valley belonged to the wolves. Wolves crept through the lands below, each a mystery waiting to be explored. Once such wolf was making its trek up the side of the mountain now.
Taboo stood to meet this wolf, Gale, to be specific. The shewolfs eyes shifted to a haunting ice blue. ”Wisdom? Or a gift of power? Do not trifle with me,” She spoke, even her soft, gentle voice loud in the faux silence.

It was at that moment when Gale laid his eyes on the great white wolf, that he truly believed every story his parents told him about how magnificent and beautiful they were. He didn't have time to think about what words to say next, for he was dropping his figure in humble bow of complete adoration. Gale felt like the most honored wolf to be in the presence of Taboo. She suddenly spoke to him, and she went straight to the point. A soft inhale of surprise made Gale's chest quiver. He felt suddenly apologetic for how he had first requested. He hadn't meant it to be a test of the white wolf's patience, she was the greatest being in the valley, and she deserved all his respect. "Forgive me great Taboo, I meant no disrespect to your all-knowingness. I guess I just meant to say that I am here to seek your wisdom about a gift of power." 'Ugh, words, why do I always mix them up?' Gale corrected himself and raised his head to look back up at the stunning sight of the wolf goddess. "I came to seek a gift of power, one that would help me serve the greatest good in the valley." Gale's voice had changed to a deep sovereignty as he made his request double clear. Not that Taboo didn't already know, but he wanted to make it clear and to the point like Taboo had wanted him to when he first arrived.

The moment of belief, of total resignation to the myth now proved fact, a pure and unadulterated revelation. It was beautiful, endearing even for Taboo to witness time and time again. This look of awe and wonder reaffirmed to Taboo that this was her time well spent. Whether the wolf left her with a power or not, their time was well spent. The male wolf blinked, the initial light that he had first experienced upon seeing her burning bright in his eyes as he continued. Gale apologized profusely before amending his statement.
”No matter, mortal,” She breathed in her hushed lilting voice. ”You have come to me in the coldest, most honest season, what power do you Hunger for?” Winter, cold, clear, brutally honest, icily so. A season where hunger drive each wolfs outer coating away, revealing their true character. Taboo had seen much. Had seen everything. She had observed the hordes of wolves permitted into the valley, liars, cheaters, murderers, thieves alike. And yet she had also observed the good crop, lovers, dreamers, heroes, providers, protectors. She had even seen sparks of good in the darkest hearts, and glimmers of darkness in the most golden souls. Sheba had something there, although true balance as she seemed to think existed could never be attained. The wolfs heart and soul were constantly pulled between good and evil. Those wolves who could not make a decision and stand for their values called themselves neutral. Were they truly neutral? Or were they simply aiding the plague of apathy?

((Ahh, I totally thought I created this thread in the Spring! Would he still be allowed to request a Spring season ability?))
There was no punishment, no harsh words or stern reprimand. Taboo simply excused his ill manners and brushed his indecency off of her shoulder. He had expected to hear some sort of lecture on how to properly speak to a white wolf, or a gentle tap on the paw in the right direct, but the goddess before him, with her piercing ice blue eyes, was graciously forgiving him. So much kindness and loving nature was radiating from Taboo, Gale found it absolutely breathtaking. He breathed a silent “thank you” as he stared at her majesty and inclined his ears to the soft whisper of her gentle voice.
”Hunger?” Gale dropped his chin, and his eyes followed. ”I hunger for justice in the Valley, to protect the helpless, to bring the weak to greatness.” His face slowly lifted, until his gaze had returned to the onlooking eyes of Taboo, the passion he felt was flickering in his silver orbs. ”I hunger for the power that can serve in great ways, yet has the tools for defense and offense. The power that is solid in every way and firm, just like my beliefs.” Gale paused, and before he continued he let out a slow breath. The desire in his heart, to want to do more for his alliance, for the good of his wolf kind, burned bright and strong. But he also understood the meaning of being declined. Taboo knew him better than he could ever, and if she didn’t see it fit for him, then he would be content with her answer.
”Taboo, in your unwavering greatness, I humbly request the gift of Stone.”

((You definitely did create this in Spring, I don't know what Shiv was talking about lol))
Taboo;
The mortal before her spoke of justice. Taboo listened without showing anything on her fine face. With the first bite, justice often tasted sweet. It tasted right—like what one had been craving. And indeed, it could remain sweet. Often times justice was exactly what was needed. But justice was also a dangerous thing. If a wolf got greedy, or took a larger bite than was necessary... it could often turn bitter. And then, it was too late.
But he also spoke of helping the weak, and protecting them. These were things that Taboo valued, for though it wasn't true, the good wolves of the valley often were taken as weak. Sometimes all they needed was a voice.
"I caution you," Taboo said. "Your will is strong, and your reasoning, steadfast... but if I give this to you, you must understand one thing first." Her eyes shifted a deep blue now, though went transparent as well. "Stone is solid, yes. Unyielding and strong—much like how you have described your beliefs. But." She tilted her head slightly, allowing one ear to flick—a silly mortal habit, but one that seemed fitting. "To become a master of Stone is to render it no longer firm. No longer unchanging. So too, your beliefs must also become dynamic. For not in every situation is a firm paw and an unrelenting sense of justice warranted, or indeed, safe or needed. If you become a Stone bearer, you, too, must become movable and willing to change, just as the stone will." She watched him and waited to listen to the way his thoughts took these new pieces of information. Not much would slip past her.

Gale watched Taboo as he gave his request. She was reluctant to show her thoughts, and hardly let emotion decorate her stunning features, yet the strong sense of love and kindness was in her features. An overwhelming touch of guidance in her bright capturing eyes. Like a loving mother desperate for her children to choose the right way and to make the right decisions.
"I caution you," She began. And Gale's ears shot forward and his chin lifted at the words of praise that followed. His chest breathed in a deep inhale of fresh mountain air and he thought back on the days of his youth when his own sweet mother would lift up his accomplishments and praise the great work he had done with hunting down a field mouse. He had feasted on those words and never let them leave his heart.
"one thing first." Gale's reminiscing ceased and his attention was back on the eyes of Taboo that changed like the summer sky. The shift in color within her gaze was not unpleasant or unnerving, but it was something that demanded he pay close attention to what she would say next. And he did. Every word she spoke entered his mind and formed into solid information that he would never act against. Wisdom he would always guide his actions and intentions around.
Would he be willing? would he be willing to change his solid beliefs and render his mind and moralities mold-able? Surely Taboo would not want him to become less good, or give up on his belief of doing well to those in need. Her reason for giving such instruction must have been to be willing to change his view of the good he was raised with. To become a better good and have a better understanding of how good works.
"I am willing, Taboo. To become as the stone. Movable and willing to change. And as I become stronger with the substance and more in unison with it I will take heed to become even more mold-able myself just as with the stone." Gale noticed that he was speaking as if he knew that he would receive the power from the white wolf. He did not intend his speech to sound like that, but he had to, in his mind, be putting himself in the position of a master of stone in order to perceive what his intentions would be with the power.
Even so, he was willing. Should Taboo see his true heart and be willing to trust him, a mortal, with her precious gift.

Taboo;
Taboo listened as his thoughts turned over what she had said. No, he was correct in thinking that Taboo did not want him to change his fundamental goodness. But in her many years, she had learned that sometimes the “good” path was well hidden. Evil or neutral paths often masked themselves as the good and honorable options, but she wanted to be sure thyay Gale would keep his eyes open for that third path. The path that she would take. He spoke of staying smart, even as he gained in power. Taboo looked through his future in that moment and saw that he would indeed rise within the ranks—but she also saw that he would keep his word. Yes. This was not to be some mistake that she would later regret. Gale really did seem truthful and willing to adapt to her wishes.
Well. In that case, she has kept him waiting long enough. ”Eat and be blessed,” She said, and with her words rolled out a single piece of fruit from her den. It’s surface was hard, and it looked quite stone-like—but it was not so hard that it would break teeth. It could have even been mistaken for a rock, but that was not so. For if Gale ate this stone fruit, mere seconds later he would feel the power begin to filter into his veins. Taboo smiled once, and was gone.

Taboo seemed to swallow his every word, turning them around in her mouth as she processed the value and honesty of them. Her gaze stayed solid on him, but her mind seemed to be searching his very soul, weighing his life on a scale of the eternal balances. Would she find it worthy.
Gale didn't realize he had been holding his breath when his paws suddenly began to feel numb. A slow breath hissed from his nostrils as he watched the expressionless face of the White Wolf. Taboo finally seemed pleased with what she saw in him. Pleased with his answer; for she commanded and blessed him, just as something tumbled out of the cave, across the ground, and stopped at his paws. It looked like a rock, but for some reason Gale knew it wasn't, for why would she tell him to eat it if it wasn't edible. He sniffed it once before clapping his jaws around it and clutching it between his teeth. The solid object was harder than he expected, and for a moment he doubted it wasn't anything but a rock, but then the substance cracked in half and crumbled in his mouth as he crunched away. Swallowing it was bitter, but as the gritty paste mixed with saliva slid down his throat and hit his belly, the very pulse of his blood was changed. His tongue felt like a dry riverbed and his breath came in heavy rushed currents. Even his paws felt like rocks as he took a step back and bowed his thanks to the great White Wolf Taboo. Her smile released his voice from captivity and he was able to speak his appreciation just as she disappeared.
A numb sting tickled his throat where a sharp petaled silver flower appeared on his blonde fur right above his chest. The mark began to faintly glow as Gale locked his eyes on three small pebbles huddled close to each other. There presence called his name and he called back, their small bodies shivered and then slowly melted like butter on a hot day, turning into flat disks that rested on the stone surface. The pulse of his blood throbbed in his ears and he called the stone disks to himself. They shivered again and slid along the ground towards their master.
-Exit Gale-
