Saffron:
She had already planned her trip ahead, starting with the Redwoods she was going to venture the valley but try to steer clear of Pack territory. That's the smart choice to make. Saffron had enough on her mind to think about as is, so wandering into these borders was just another risk she didn't need to take. To add to that point, she had no current desire to join a pack. Her focus came back to reality. The damp but somewhat pleasant air of the current Winter day made no added difficulty to her trek and a few faint scents of prey lingered too. The she-wolf added a reminder in her many tangles of thoughts to hunt soon. To others she didn't seem like a wolf that was anywhat interested in adventuring, they would be right. She was not particularly interested in moving a lot, but the motivation that got her to her feet was the large possibility of having wolves to study. With such a long journey, Saffron was bound to meet someone sooner or later. She also added another mental note to avoid the Forest of Love, for nothing good could surely come out of that... Actually, maybe if she could hide somewhere, so she could do some wolf watching. No, that was just plain wrong. As much as she studied wolves and loved it, the she-wolf wasn't gointo be peering on things like that, especially if she wasn't meant to. Saffron sighed deeply, oh how easily she could get lost in her on plans even ones with simplicity.
The wolf was just half a tail length away from a tree before she noticed it. Stopping abruptly, she merely touched her nose on the towering tree of red. 'I really must pay some more attention.' She muttered in her mind and continued to travel through the woods. It was lucky Saffron was a patient wolf, otherwise she may of never been able to bear waiting for a wolf to appear. She'd been walking for maybe an hour or two straight, possibly more but her legs weren't sore at all as well as her paws. She was flicking her ears this way and that as she went and was sniffing lightly at the air for the scent of wolf. She could still smell the scents of a variety of prey around her, though none where obviously the company she was searching for. 'They'll appear sooner or later, I might as well just catch a little prey while I'm here.' The she-wolf thought, one of her previous mental reminders being completed.
With a nose guiding her through the foliage, she scented what seemed to be a bird of some sort, or was that a vole? She continued to hunt, her paws treading the snow lightly so that she would leave almost no trail, trying to cover her scent so that she wouldn't scare of the few pieces of valuable prey that surrounded the area. Saffron continued on, her full trust still invested in her nose. It was not until a few more pawsteps that she could make out what the scent was exactly and she stopped to pick it up fully. It smelled clearly of a rodent and it had passsed through here in at least the last half hour. With that in mind, her paws began to move again, the trail leading her to something she wasn't quite expecting...
