tovaanaAtra's paws step softly on the dirt ground of the Redwoods. She barely makes a sound other than the occasional dragging her paws off of the ground and she stays close to the extremely large trees that grow across the area. The female's legs bend slightly to keep her low, out of habit and her ears stay lowered. It is her first time to any kind of forest ever and she has an anxiety that makes her feel a little sick to the stomach and her heart weak. The predominantly beige female continues making her way slowly around the large trees until a sound is heard from a few meters away. It causes her to jump and her ears shoot up. Her head turns in the direction of the noise and her eyes grow big staring in the direction. She's completely still and she holds her breath. The noise continues and she jumps again, this time taking a few steps away. She doesn't dare get closer to whatever that noise was coming from. After a minute of her staring in the direction of the sound, a little bird jumps out from behind the tree. Atra's muscles relax a bit at the quiet chirps and the curious bird. She quickly realizes that she's been taking extremely shallow breaths, and she gasps for air, still trying to stay as quiet as she can be. She sits by one of the redwood trees with her eyes closed and she sighs shakily. "What am I thinking. It's only a bird"

Valhalla;
She had never left her packlands before, she had never felt the need to, as she was a homebody. Her heart was with her pack, her family, and she had great pride in her home. It was her imagination that had stolen her from home and at first she was somewhat aware of what she was doing. Val had been pretending to be running away from a great predator, but because of her great speed she easily stayed far enough away. In her mind, as she crossed the border, she had to – because if she didn’t keep running, the beast would catch up to her. It wasn’t until she came to a stream that she stopped, huffing and puffing. Her tan muzzle (spotted with blue on the top) dipped into the cool water as she greedily lapped up water. Something in the back of her mind was an adult, the voice of her mother, telling her that if she drank too quickly she would get a stomach ache… so she paused drinking, her tangerine gaze looking up and around at her surroundings.
The little pup was so deeply in her imagination that she knew going back to home would be going into the jowls of the monster. She would have to keep going and find help….Her family! They needed her help! But she was too small. She would need to find someone else.
She was slender and tall for her young age, but still obviously in her youth. Val leapt over the stream, her lacy leg hitting the other side of the shore first, followed by her other front paw which was the creamy tan that was the same color as her base coat, and followed by her blue and clay back paws. Her light body made little noise as she hit the other side and continued in a jog.
A night passed, or was it two? Valhalla quickly lost track of time, and her stomach growled, and it was tempting to come out of her world of imagination, but it brought her comfort where everything was unknown and different. She traveled in silence, which for her was different than her talkative self, but it was mostly because she had no one to talk to – and she didn’t want the beast to hear her.
She paused when she heard a noise. The monster? Had it found her finally? Her feet trembled, half out of fear, half from exhaustion. The pup fell into a crouch when a bird flew over her head and she nearly laughed from her nerves – when she heard a voice. "What am I thinking. It's only a bird." The voice is a whisper, but very close.
“And boy was I glad it was a bird, and not the monster!” She said, coming from behind the wolf, glad to have found another wolf. Her tangerine gaze looked through her clay mask-like markings up at the wolf, her tail swaying back and forth as quickly as she could muster to express her joy in finding another.

((So sorry I let this go so long without replying! I've been super busy since I'm finishing up things at school for the year. My posts should speed up a lot from here on!))
Atra;
Just seconds before Atra is truly able to allow her tense muscles finally release and her lungs continue to supply oxygen to her body, a sudden voice pierced through the sounds of nature around her. The voice has a slight hint of relief and joy, which Atra definitely was not feeling right now. The tan-coated female's eyes widen, her tail tucks between her legs and her ears flatten against her head. Atra is crouched low to the forest floor and doesn't move a muscle from there. She trembles and has to clench her jaw together to keep her teeth from chattering. Her eyes looked toward the origin of the voice, Atra not daring to move any other muscle. Her breaths are shallow, causing the female to struggle in breathing since she had been holding her breath prior to this moment.
The wolf before her was quite slender, looking more on the lanky side and she had a lacy pattern running on her front left leg. Just by her posture and tone of voice, this wolf was still young and incredibly energetic, which could possibly cause some problems for Atra since she's about the opposite of energetic and excitable. All of these emotions overwhelm her and causes her to feel intimidated, which in result her instinct is to keep her mouth shut, maybe this happy-go-lucky personality will become bored of the incredibly shy and scared Atra and leave her to go on her way.

Valhalla;
She was too tired to notice that was wolf was uncomfortable with her presence, especially with her bubbly attitude. What the wolf did not know, was this was Valhalla mild; as she was tired and hungry from her long journey running from the monster. She lay down heavily, plopping her thin form to the ground with a sigh of relief.
“I’m Valhalla, but you can call me Val.” She blinked her tangerine gaze up at the wolfess, not at all aware that if this had been an evil wolf, she could very well be dead at the moment – or at the least in danger. She licked her legs a little and then looked back at the female, not at all put off by her silence.
“I’ve been on a very long heroic journey, but I’m tired now. I think I should go back home, but I’m sort of scared that the monster will find my family – that’s why I ran, you know. Now I’m here, but I think I lost its trail.” Her slender head looked around quickly, as if to double check and swiveled quickly back to the female.
“What’s your name? Are you hungry? I’m hungry. I mean, my name isn’t hungry – I’m Valhalla, but I already told you that.” She grinned with a little giggle, laughing at her own little joke. She would get up, but she really was tired… and hungry. Her stomach rumbled quietly, making her squirm a little. ooc// no worries! =D yay for the end of school year!

Atra;
Atra watches the wolf with eyes wide open, jumping when the female's form dropped to the ground, mostly out of surprise that the she-wolf was crazy enough to be this comfortable around a complete stranger but still because the tan-pelted female was scared of the other presence. The wolfess tries her best to keep up with the young wolf opposite of her, but, not being used to talking to anyone at all, the quick words only leave her confused, with her head slightly tilted and shaking, almost as if she's trying to shake all of the words out of her head.
It takes Atra a moment to regain her composure and give up on trying to make sense of, to her, the jumbled, incoherent words and going completely out of her usual character, she lets words escape her throat,
"W-What?" Atra's eyebrows are knitted together wondering if she was right in guessing that this wolf is crazy, but the rest of her body remains in its original terrified state, her guard not faltering as she continues to watch every move the other female makes, so much as to be able to count how many times she's taken a breath. This will definitely be extremely tiring for the sandy colored female and a deep breath followed by a small sigh shows that she knows it'll be rough.

Valhalla;
“You didn’t think that was funny? Or didn’t you get it? I said that I’m hungry, like – how you say I’m so-in-so, but my name isn’t hungry. So, it’s funny because I’m not really named hungry.” She looked at the stiff female who was obviously frightened. She knitted her own brows in confusion.
“I mean, I guess… now that I’ve explained all of that, it’s not all that funny any more…” She mused as she thought it out, not feeling the bubbly giggles after explaining the joke. Her tangerine gaze looked the female up and down.
“Are… you okay?” She tilted her head and smirked a little. “You look like my brother when I startle and pounce on him before he sees me coming.” She giggled a little at the memory, smiling. “You look like you’re afraid that I’m going to bite you, but I’m not. I only like to pounce and bite my siblings… Which, I should probably be getting back to them. But, I’m not sure I know the way…” She cleared her throat, trying to seem professional about the fact that she was probably lost. Val assumed she could eventually make it home again, but she was very tired and hungry, she was hoping for a short cut of some sort.
“Are you hungry? I’m hungry. I know I asked that before, but you didn’t answer… So, are you hungry? I’m not asking if your name is hungry though.” She said with a wink and smile at her genius wits.

Atra;
With her ears pinned to the back of her head and her tail tucked tightly between her legs, Atra stands, completely confused.
"I-I-I," Atra stutters not able to form words. Her maw opens and closes like she's thinking about trying to say something but instead changes her mind. With dilated pupils, the dusty-sand-pelted female looks around as if the answer to her confusion is hiding somewhere in or around the trees, her mind completely blanking out and almost blacking out, forgetting the words that were said to her just a second ago.
“Are you hungry? I’m hungry. I know I asked that before, but you didn’t answer… So, are you hungry? I’m not asking if your name is hungry though.” Atra blinks a few times, staring at the hyperactive female, only being able to comprehend her last few sentences.
"Uhm- Uh- No." Surprisingly, the shy female was able to make out a simple answer, although it sounded more like a question since she didn't know if she wasn't hungry or not due to how overwhelmed her brain was at the moment.

Valhalla;
She tilted her head, ears perked forward with great interest – and…it was just a no. “No…?” She wasn’t hungry? "Oh..." She sat down and looked at the female, “Well… would you go hunting with me anyways? I mean, I’m a great hunter and all, my parents even say so, but it sure is easier when I have help… And, and, and….I’m kinda tired from my travels..” Val paused and sighed, feeling her fatigue slowly starting to catch up with her.
Her tangerine eyes looked up pleadingly at the female. “Uhm, please?” Her tailed swayed slowly, her ears folded back and eyes big. A picture of a pup that was used to getting convincing others to give her what she wanted.

Atra;
When the female sits down, Atra relaxes a bit, her shoulders dropping slightly and the wrinkles between her eyebrows disappearing. Her eyes dilate a bit, her brain catching on that the hyperactive pup isn't as much of a threat as she originally thought.
With a more relaxed posture, Atra's able to focus her brain a little more on trying to work out what she's saying, since, just recently she's had her first conversation in years.
The female explains that she wants to hunt with the help of the timid female, and Atra opens her mouth to answer, but the young female surprises her by looking up at her with big eyes and a pout, earning a strange look from the more naturally colored female. None the less, Atra would help. She's shy and scared of most things, but she's not rude!
"Uhm... okay. I-I probably won't be of m-much help." With her head slightly tucked toward her own body, she answers the female, meeting her eyes a few times before looking somewhere else, as she's still not completely comfortable with contact with others.

Valhalla;
“YES!!” She lifted to her four paws from excitement, but remembered the skittishness of the present wolf and stopped herself. She cleared her throat and wagged her tail apologetically, “I mean, great! - I am starving.”
Her soft tangerine gaze scanned the wolf in front of her curiously. “Why not? You’re bigger than me, probably faster too – though I am pretty fast. I have long legs, but I’m not all big yet, but I can’t wait to be! I want to hunt with my pack when they find the really big prey! Like… deer with horns! Or… elk! But I can’t even catch a rabbit properly. Well, I can, it just takes a long time….and usually I have help.” She was sitting again, thinking of her encounter with Epicenter. Ehem. Her gaze trailed back to the female. “So, rabbit sounds good.” As if to reiterate her words, her stomach did a rumbling growl of protest.

Atra;
The female swallows thickly, and simply nods at everything that was said as most of it was just the younger wolf speaking about something that Atra didn't know anything about, but, either way, she didn't exactly want to know about this pack, as she spoke of it like it had many wolves, hence them supposedly being able to take out an animal as dangerous and as large as an elk or a buck deer.
“So, rabbit sounds good.” Without another word or nod, the larger female walks off, her ears pushed forward, moving back and forth with every small sound that's within earshot, and her nose twitching as she sniffs the air before cranking her neck down slightly, so sniff the ground, trying her best to catch onto the scent of a recently passing rabbit, or at least some kind of small mammal. And it didn't take long before she caught onto one and began following with quick steps, mostly to put some distance between her and the other female rather than trying to get to the animal before it gets away.
It wasn't very long before she comes across a rabbit that is seemingly traveling into it's little burrow. Atra comes to a quick stop, hiding herself behind one of the large trees and some a brave cluster of ferns that grow next to it. The tan-pelted female gives a quick sniff into the air to see if anyone else is in the general vicinity, which she doesn't pick up on.
The more naturally colored female turns her head looking behind her to see if the young wolf is following, but honestly, she half expected the hyperactive female to have passed her already and she just hadn't notice it yet.

Valhalla;
The female was nodding at everything she said, but there was a part of Val that wondered if she was actually listening. Her suspicions were confirmed when the female stalked off without a word. “Hey!” She blurted, her body becoming especially heavy and tired all of a sudden. Her grey and blue ears tilted toward Atra, fixated toward where she had exited. Anger flared through her hungry and weakening body. She stood with her mouth open a little in dismay.
“Uhm, excuse me, you know that it’s rude to leave a conversation mid-sentence?” She called to the female and then stalked after her. She growled and muttered under her breath as she moved as quickly as her stiff legs could move. She quickly caught up with the female who had stopped behind a tree. Val opened her mouth to continue her protest when she saw and smelled what the female had found. Her body immediately crouched, her eyes big and hungry as she tried to spy the rabbit again.
“So, what’s the plan?” She hissed just as the female turned to find her. Her tail rushed back and forth in uncontained excitement at the thought of a meal, whatever it would be.

Atra;
As expected, the female shouts at the older of the two, upset at Atra walking away suddenly. At seeing the small burrow that's been dug into the ground. The timid female rolls her eyes to herself as the female completely abandons her anger within a fraction of a second and asks what the plan is. With a quiet voice, Atra speaks,
"I-It just walked into its den. But, I-I don't really have a plan. Uhm..." Atra trails off as she thinks to herself, trying to come up with a plan. The female looked at the younger wolf, silently asking if she's been able to come up with anything.
There isn't a time that the female can remember where she'd gone after a rabbit that's already hidden away in its burrow. Maybe they could try surrounding the burrow and getting it to run out. Even if the female could come up with a plan that could work, she wouldn't say anything because of her fear of it possibly going wrong. It stressed her out just thinking about getting in trouble with someone.

Valhalla;
She looked at the wolfess expectedly, eyes wide and ready. Her face slowly furrowed and tilted into skeptical confusion.
“Uh-huh…” She looked and the female was right, the rabbit had disappeared. “Welp…” She paused, humming quietly in thought. Her stomach was getting more and more angry with hunger and it was driving her desperate thoughts and ideas. Obviously this adult wasn’t going to be a magic wand and make food appear in front of her like at home. Being in smaller groups was… hard. How did loners do it? How did this wolf ever survive? Or maybe it was her nerves with others and she did better alone.
“Well, I’m small, but not small enough to get into that burrow.” She whispered with a frustrated sigh. “Maybe we just have to wait…” She groaned quietly, she hated waiting, especially when she was so hungry. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid! “Fine, you stay here- I’m going to go around to behind its burrow – I don’t want it to smell me or it’ll never come out. Once it comes out, I’m gonna sneak pounce in front of the burrow – it’ll be a pounce, but also sneaky because it won’t see it coming!” She giggled quietly at her sneak pounce term and then cleared her throat. "Then hopefully it’ll come toward you or near you and you pounce kill it! Pounce on it, then kill it! Pounce kill!” She squirmed, very pleased with herself. “Kay, stay here.”
She winked at the female wolf, something she’d learned from a few of the older males in her pack and didn’t really understand its use – but it seemed to make sense to her in this situation. Val turned and snuck off behind, making sure to make a wide circle around the area until she came close to the burrow and she could see Atra’s silhouette.
Now she just had to wait.. Another quiet sigh and she laid down, her tired eyes willing the rabbit from the burrow.
