“Anything like me?” Pearl began to beam, “Well, he is much bigger and stronger than I, and I’m sure he’s grown more since I’ve last seen him. He has a beautiful blonde pelt with silver eyes that look just like mine. We made sure they matched when we looked in the reflection of the water. He’s very brave too, and isn’t afraid of anything.” Pearl trailed of as her gaze found Arold’s. His eyes were much darker than her brother’s, but she could see a similar spark in them. There was a certain glint in the eyes of a fearless adventurer. And Pearl could feel it in her gut that Arold was one of those who brave the world no matter what challenges it brings.
She was so eager to hear all about his family, but a sinking feeling came over her when he was quick to brush it off and tell her that he wished his family would stay away forever. A sad expression passed over her face and she nestled her head deeper into his furry pelt as she whispered, “Why do you wish that about your parents? Has something that horrible kept you separated?” Pearl had no filter or knew no boundaries about personal privacy. She simply cared for others and more often than not it would lead her to pry too deep sometimes. But she wanted to help, she wanted to help Arold find his past, and his parents were obviously apart of it.
Her gaze fell even more when he corrected her about his answer. “Oh, I apologize. I must not have heard you right. All of the season are very special in their own way.” She peaked back up at the smiling male and didn’t feel as bad. He must have been being goofy, because the grin on his face definitely looked the part. ”Oh, you’re being goofy aren’t you?” She gave him a little glare, Gale would tease her too, and it only made her miss him more. Arold mentioned the sun and Pearl closed her eyes and sighed with a content smile on her face. “The sun... oh how I miss it.”
