Yemen, the Babysitter [Juice]

Yemen

    It had been a few months since Yemen had arrived at the Honovi pack. America was healing fast, while the pups were growing like bean sprouts. His sister had finally told him about Bane, the diespicable wolf who deceived her. Bane had seduced her, impregnated her, and stolen one of her pups, leaving her alone. She said that he was a part of the Dark Donoma pack. Yemen planned to later get revenge for his sister, but for now -the blue wolf felt something jump on his back- he was babysitting. He let out a sigh and returned to the matter at hand. Yemen had been appointed as the babysitter for when Calamity and America went to get powers from Sheba. Now, two bundles of fur climbed over him. 

    Yemen dramatically fell flat on the ground, yelping and moaning. "Oh! You are too strong!" He pretended to attempt to rise, but fell to the ground. "Please have mercy!"

Echo

    The black and silver pup crouched low and creeped up on the blue wolf. He sat a little ways ahead, thinking. Yemen was unaware of the impending doom of Echo. She giggled. Echo leaped and landed on the grown wolf's back. "Got you!" She laughed as he fell to the ground. "You're weak!" Echo had never realized how strong she was! "No mercy!" She bounced on the wolf's back laughing. "I'm Alphess of the Yemen pack!"

A little blue ball with white appendages was crouching on the ground watching his uncle when he suddenly saw his sister spring forward for the attack. Darn! She'd been quicker than him and beat him to the punch. Not wanting to waste anymore time crouching, Spangle darted forward and joined in the attack on Yemen. He pounced on his uncle's back and exclaimed "You're really strong Echo!" before giggling and jumping down along with her. "Well if you're the alphess I want to be the alpha!" Spangle jumped at Echo, hoping to romp around and wrestle with her in the dirt.

Yemen

    As he lay sprawled out on the ground, a second weight appeared on his back. Now both pups were on his back. "Oh no! Not two!" Yemen gave an exasperated sigh and made a short howl of despair. "How will I survive when I face such strong opponents?!"

Echo 

    She stood atop Yemen and listened as he cried. Echo felt bad for him, but she was the Alphess now. Mercy was not in her vocabulary. A blue form appeared next to her. Spangle had joined her and was now wanting to be Alpha. No way was she going to share her position with a small runt like him! Echo howled a battle cry and leaped at him the moment he took flight. The two would meet in the air. 

[Juice]

Spangle liked rough housing with Echo even though he was a lousy fighter and usually lost. Soon the siblings were rolling around excitedly in the dirt, nipping and wrestling with each other. Finally Spangle managed to roll away from Echo long enough to stand up. Before Yemen had a chance to fully stand up, Spangle raced towards him and jumped on his back once more, and exclaimed "I have claimed Mount Yemen as my fortress! All who trespass here shall be punished!" he looked at Echo with his amber eyes, daring her to challenge him.

Yemen

    After fighting about who was the alpha, both bundles of fur fell off Yemen's back. Yemen went to stand, but Spangle separated from Echo and pounced on his back again. Rolling his eyes, Yemen fell to the ground again.

Echo

    The black pup wrestled and nipped the blue pup. She was going to win. Before she could pin him to the ground, Spangle escaped and climbed Yemen. That little... Echo leaped to her feet and looked into his eyes. Her blue eyes blazed with determination. She may be small and weak, but she was smart. "Hey Uncle Yemen! Bet you can't catch me!" Echo took off running. 

[Juice]

ooc: would you be willing to have Yemen tell the pups about their past? I kind of want Spangle to know where he came from but I don't know how to go about it xD

Spangle was not about to be left out of a game of tag. "Hey!" he barked at Echo before racing after her. "Uncle Yemen is it!" he called and jumped onto a boulder before leaping off immediately to chase after his sister.

OOC: that would be cool. We could have one of the pups ask about who their father is after Yemen talks about his and America's father. 

Yemen

    Echo raced off telling Yemen to catch her. Next thing he knew, it was a game of tag. Yemen never caught Echo or Spangle, being the fun babysitter. All he did was chase them howling and growling like a mad dog. It took a lot of effort not to catch the puppies, but he resisted the urge. As his lack of breath caught up to him, he fell to the ground dramatically and pretended to be dead.

Echo

    The black and silver pup ran for her life as her uncle chased her. He was fast! Echo ran so hard she had to hide behind rocks to take a few minutes to rest. Uncle Yemen had almost caught her twice! But she was too fast for him. Echo giggled. The big blue wolf that had been so energetic fell to the ground all of a sudden. He didn't move or make any sound. Echo stopped in her tracks and looked at him curiously. She glanced over at her brother and asked, "Do you think he's dead?"

[Juice]

Spangle laughed happily as his uncle chased after him and his sister, growling ferociously and playing a long. By some miracle Yemen wasn't able to catch Spangle or Echo and finally the blue pup was out of breath and stopped to pant. He watched as his uncle, who looked similar to him in color, collapsed on the ground in a sweaty heap. The blue pup's white legs raced towards his uncle and he skidded to a halt next to Echo. He looked at her with his amber eyes and said with a straight face "Yes." before biting Yemen's ear, probably a little too hard, to get him to wake up. "Story time!" Spangle demanded, yearning to rest after the physical activity but still wanting to spend time with Uncle Yemen.

Yemen

    The pups approached Yemen. He lay sprawled on the ground, breathing heavily. Spangle bit his ear and Yemen yelped, pretty sure the pup drew blood. He growled a little. The blue pup yelled for a story. Yemen had no idea what type of story kids liked. Staying on the ground with his eyes closed, he replied, "What type of story do you want?"

Echo

    Echo watched as Spangle bit Yemen's ear. He yelped, so now she knew he wasn't dead. She watched as Yemen stayed on the ground and thought. When he asked what kind of story they wanted, she jumped at the opportunity. "I wanna hear about our dad! Mom won't tell us anything and we know Calamity isn't our dad. So who is and where is he?"

[Juice]

The young blue pup had been considering asking for a story about magic or powerful alphas but, again, Echo was just too fast for him. She wanted to hear about their dad and, now that he was thinking about it, he wanted to know about their father too. He had never directly asked America about their father - that was usually something Echo did - but he could specifically remember asking Calamity once. The black and white wolf whom Spangle had known his entire, short life, was not his father. The pup felt he had always known this but didn't want to believe it until Calamity had said so directly to him. It was a little upsetting as Spangle was curious about where he came from, but he was glad that the large black wolf was in his life and he still considered him a father figure. "Yes! Do tell us about our dad!" Spangle said excitedly, ready for his questions to finally be answered.

Yemen

    Echo was the first to respond. Their dad? Yemen had not expecting that. What should he tell them? It was a little too mature of a story for them and he didn't want them to get curious and go searching for him. Yemen thought long and hard, closing his eyes and furrowing his brows. These pups were so obnoxious. The blue wolf opened his eyes and looked at the pups seriously. "Do you really want to know? Once you know you can't tell your mother that you do. If you promise me this, I will tell you who your father is."

Echo

    The big blue wolf now sat and made a funny face. Echo shifted her paws in anticipation. Would he tell them? After a minute of awkward silence Yemen spoke. Not telling her mom? Echo had never kept a secret from her mom before. Sounded like fun! She hopped to her feet and let her tail go wild. "Deal. I won't tell." Echo remembered Spangle and looked at him. "Although I can't vouch for Spangle. You won't tell mom, right?" She stared him down, daring the blue pup to defy her.

Spangle's ears perked forward expectantly and he was surprised by his uncle's reaction. When he prompted the pups not to tell their mother the information he was about to put forth, the blue pup's eyes widened in shock. What was so important that they had to keep it a secret? Spangle was caught in childlike curiosity wanting to know every single detail but somewhere deep in his mind, or perhaps it was his heart, he could sense the weight of what his uncle was asking him. This was some serious information about to be given, a key in Spangle's history that would unlock the mystery of who he was. Although he was too young to fully understand these feelings, the weight was still present. "I won't tell!" he exclaimed loudly.

Yemen

    Yemen sighed as both pups agreed. He wasn't sure if they truly grasped the seriousness of the situation. Plus, he hated talking about it. Every time his said the mutt's name he became furious. Yemen looked up at the expectant pups. "Fine." The blue wolf lay down in a comfortable position so that the pups could curl up next to him. Then he began. "It was before you were born that your mother, America, met your father. As you know, she was once a loner. One day she was out enjoying the weather when she stumbled upon another wolf. This wolf was black and grey, a lot like Echo. The wolf was a packwolf. He seemed kind and sincere, but he planned to take advantage of America. She was unaware of this and she befriended him. They went hunting the same day and that night he took her to a romantic place." Yemen paused and thought hard about his next words. How is he supposed to tell pups what happened that night?! "That night they slept together in a cave." Yemen let out a breath of relief. That shouldn't raise any questions. "In the morning the male had left. Your mother stayed in hopes that he would return, but he didn't. America discovered she was pregnant and later gave birth to three beautiful pups in a cave." The moments the words were out of his mouth he regretted them. The pups didn't know that they had a brother that their father took. Yemen grimaced and waited for the ultimate question.

Echo

    Echo sat attentively until Yemen gave in. She jumped up in happiness. Yemen lay down and Echo curled up so that she was looking at him. She listened quietly to the story. Her dad didn't sound nice. Echo had hoped he would be a lot like Calamity. Yemen told them how he left their mom and everything. Echo started to get bored and play with her tail. She didn't notice when Yemen said that their mom gave birth to three puppies instead of two. 

[Juice]

Spangle's amber eyes widened as Yemen began to speak and told them of a wolf that had come from a pack and looked similar to Echo. The pups were never told that Calamity was their father but Spangle had always identified him that way and assumed that Echo took after Calamity with their black and gray fur and he took after America with his blue coloration. It was shocking to hear that his sister looked like their father and he could almost picture the wolf as his imagination began running.

Spangle's face seemed locked in a look of deep contemplation as his uncle spoke. He knew how important this information was although he didn't understand why. The young pup continued to listen to the sad story of the night he and Echo were conceived. Spanle's ears drooped at the thought of his mother all alone in a cave waiting for the wolf she loved to return. The pup was too young to grasp the concept of heartbreak but he did feel a heavy emotional sadness settle over him from the love he felt towards his mother. He didn't like to think about her sad and alone. Then suddenly Spangle caught the tail end of Yemen's story and, being a sharp one, caught that his uncle had said three pups. "Three?" Spangle said softly before yelling it louder "Three?! Who is the other one? Me and Echo have a little brother or sister?" the youngster's mind could barely comprehend this.

Yemen

    He grimaced as Spangle asked the winning question. Yemen groaned and looked at the two pups. "Yes. There were three." Maybe he could leave it at that. Change the subject before they can ask anything else! The blue wolf sped to meet his next words. "Now you two are here and happy! Let's play another game!" Yemen sped off in the direction of a large rock. He lept up to the top easily, knowing that the pups were too small.
