James followed Jess quickly, he was looking around his ears pinned back as he saw Flint come out of nowhere with some prey, he growled something under his breath as he ran with his sister by his side to where Jess was, his ears still pinned back as he pushed his sister against the wall of cave.
Leafa growled as her brother pushed her into the cave wall as she managed to say to him. "James... can't breathe here..." She felt him move a bit so she could breath but so she was still against the wall, her ears pinned back annoyed now at her brother.

Illao:
As soon as Jess started towards the shelter, Illao began making her way to the leaf coated floor. Leaping down from from stone wall in a couple jumps, she stumbled at the last landing and fell on her rump. Unharmed, she popped back onto four paws and galloped towards where she'd directed Jess to hide. Cautiously slowing as she traveled through the area that the males had been fighting, her ears rotated towards the crag as Jess's voice rang out, "Illao, is Flint back yet?"
"I don't..." Illao started, forgetting the pheasant still in her jaws. It dropped to the ground, meanwhile Flint emerged from the bushes. "Flint!" Illao said happily, abandoning her previous sentence. Noticing the prey, she began chatting in her usual fashion, "Nice catch! I caught something, too! Those are for Jess, right? She's in there," Illao gestured to the stone shelter, "I don't know if you saw them, but there were two males fighting near here. They ran off, but they could still come back! I don't want to run into those two any time soon. The last thing we need in our lives is two aggressive wolves, ready to tear us apart. I mean, we're barely surviving here. I don't know if we could handle some serious wounds or something. Did you have any clue what they might've wanted? I guess you wouldn't, you were just off hunting. Speaking of which, let's bring the grub in to Jess and those two little pups."
Illao scooped up her pheasant and trotted to the stone shelter. She ducked in and crawled to where Jess crouched. Despite the low ceiling, the shelter was width after a couple paces to the right. The little male pressed his sister against the back wall of the shelter, protectively. A quiet growl came from his throat as his eyes watched the two new arrivals, untrustingly. Unwilling to drop her pheasant in her dirt again, but wanting to introduce herself, Illao sent her thoughts to him, hoping that he was willing to accept the telepathic speech. A slight glow lit the cave as Illao met his gaze, "Hello! My name's Illao. I live nearby with Jess and Flint here. You're safe here. What's your name?"

Flint: Flint was assaulted by Iallo's chatter, just like always. He blushed under his fur, fire orange eyes on his red paws. He looked back up and nodded. "Yha." he said, and nodded again when she said that they where barely surviving. Flint had been bending over backwards to keep Iallo and Jess fed when still getting enough to feed himself. Then he noticed James, and Flint's eyes went hard. He didn't look like he had missed a meal recently. He was protecting his little sister, so that was something Flint respected about James. One thing for Flint was set in stone, however. He and James would never be best friends.
Flint looked back at Jess. "Hey Jess, guess what I brought back for all of us. A rabbit. It's a big one too." He nuzzled his small sister and dropped the rabbit at her paws. He didn't eat the rabbit himself, as much as he wanted to. He looked like he hadn't eaten in ages. He smiled, and turned to go. He was going hunting again at a mouse burrow he had found. He planned to eat a few mice so he didn't starve. There was no chance of getting back to what he should be, a 137 pound male. Flint was supposed to be big and thick, with glossy fur like flame, ash, and charred wood. Not a 56 pound wolf with dull red fur.
Flint trotted outside and flushed out the mice. He grabbed the biggest mouse and gobbled it up as fast as he could. The he looked out and saw a small stream. Suddenly he saw the stream frozen, and covered in snow. He shivered, remembering the biting cold of the water, and the huge brown pup he had been carrying. Suddenly he was lost in the cold wasteland of that day when they had met Iallo, and he had almost frozen to death with his brother Kodiac. Then a year later, and that same creek was covered in his brother's blood and a bear tracks. He stood there for he didn't know how long.
Jess: Jess gnawed on the rabbit half hardheartedly but gave the rest to James and Leafa. She wasn't hungry. She, instead, curled up and went t sleep. Then, her ears perked and she sniffed around for Flint. Cocking her head, she got to her paws and followed her brother to the entrance. Then she stopped, and pinned her ears back, not hearing Flint moving around. She lowered her head, wondering where Flint was.

James looked at the food then let his sister out from behind him finally as he watched her sniff the food then start to eat it, clearly hungry, as he sat down looking at Jess as he said. "Thank you, Jess..." Leafa sniffed the food then quickly started to eat on it, as she mummered between a mouthful in a squeak sorta. "Thanks, Jess!" She went back to eating as, she chomped down on the food, her gaze straying to her brother for a few seconds before she ate the last bite of food, now sitting down as she looked at James. She tilted her head as she looked at him saying. "Aren't you hungry, big bro..?" He looked at her and said smiling. "Nope, i'm fine lil' sis."

Illao:
James hadn't responded to her mental questions. Perhaps they never reached him. He must be too frightened. Illao dropped her pheasant and decided to be friendly and comforting. "Hello! My name's Illao. I live nearby with Jess and Flint here. What are your names?" She waited for their answers. Jess had pushed the rabbit towards them and the two pups were considering the food. "You're safe here. You two can chow down on that rabbit. I ate something on the road, and I think this pheasant should fill Jess up. Right, Jess?" Illao, glanced towards Jess, allowing a paused for confirmation as she nudged the pheasant towards Jess. As the pups began eating, she spoke once more, "I'm sure we'll find enough food for you guys. You just gotta trust us."
Flint brushed her as he departed. Illao looked up at her friend and followed him out with a "I'll be right back, okay?" thrown over her shoulder. She sat down beside Flint after he gobbled down his mice meal and was silent for a minute. But, Illao could never stay silent for long. "Flint?" her voice was gentle. Illao wanted to voice all of her worries and doubts, but she didn't want to trouble the two pups inside the den who'd she'd just promised to find food for. So, instead, she looked at Flint with her emerald green eyes and sent her thoughts to him. "Flint, I'm worried. Two more hungry mouths to feed and I feel as though we've exhausted most of the prey that roams here. Whenever I leave the ruins, my hunts are more successful. I've been thinking and... maybe we should leave especially with these two pups. We can't just abandon them and there's not enough prey here for all of us. Besides, I think it's about time we left this place. Too many missing faces and we'd have a better chance of finding them somewhere else. What do you think, Flint?"[/i]

Flint: Flint dug his claws into the dirt. His firey eyes fixed on the water. "That older one can hunt for himself, so if we leave he takes on some hunting duties. The pup, she's too young. About as young as you where when you came here. So, yes. We need to leave. It will also be safer, and maybe we can find your family." Or mine. he added silently. He was mostly talking to himself. He closed his eyes, and turned back to go back to the den. "We are leaving, at first light. High time we got going, and we have a better chance of finding those we lost." He walked right past James and Leafa, and curled up in the far corner. His tail covering his face as he tried to drift off to sleep. Everything had changed so fast, it was driving him nuts. Things would never be the same way ever again.
Flint's dreams were scattered, and he couldn't hold on to anything. Iallo's face kept popping up, only they were glimpses. He loved her, he knew that. Did she love him? He curled tighter, trying to center hi dream. But it was all just fractured pictures.
Jess: Jess ate the pheasant, polishing it off and sighing. She started singing softly. It was more a hmm, mearly a melody. It comforted her though. She got to her paws and sighed. She walked past James and Leafa and outside. She sat, looking up. She looked whistful, and sad. Her tail curled over her light tan paws and she looked down again. Thinking of the rest of the story that she had been telling James and Leafa. How both brothers had been doomed to lie out their lives in the caves and how Sheba had left them to die. Like her parents. She looked back, her ears perked to the sounds of James and Leafa. Like them in a way.

James was talking to his younger sister quietly, as he wrapped his tail around his paws. He stopped hearing what Flint said as he let out a very low growl possibly about to say something to him. Leafa nuzzled her brother making him stop growling, as she nipped his ear, making him be quiet as she laid down on the ground. Putting her tail over her muzzle as she eyed her brother seeing if he would try to say anything rude to Flint. James sighed, as he curled up around his younger sister, closing his eyes a little, as he smiled at her a little. Trying to hide his worry about their father, as he closed his eyes going into a light sleep. Leafa smiled at him, as she placed her head on his back, curling up around her brother as he fell asleep, her green eyes closing slowly, as she fell into a deep sleep.

Illao:
A sigh escaped as Flint turned away and returned to the den. He'd spoken of the two pups' hunting abilities. Did he intend to leave the pups to what small prey was left in the ruins? Perhaps Flint knew more of the pups' parents than Illao did. Perhaps the pups would be better off on their own. Flint, Illao, and Jess had turned out alright a little malnourished and smaller, but alright. Still, it troubled the red she-wolf. She knew what it felt like to be utterly alone. She wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Illao followed Flint into the den a minute or so behind. Her emerald eye flicked over to the brown male as he curled in a corner. Illao suddenly had the urge to curl up next to him, so their noses touched, but she dismissed it and settled for a "Good Night, Flint" thrown in his direction. Illao, instead, relaxed beside Jess and caught her up on what had been discussed outside via telepathic speech as to not bother those that were trying to sleep. "Jess, we're gonna head out tomorrow. There's not enough food here for three nearly full-grown wolves and we have a chance at tracking down our families. I'm sure they're out there somewhere, we just have to look harder. We're been in these ruins since we were pups, rarely leaving, but now that we're older we can roam the entire valley! It'll be just a matter of time before we finally find them all!"
Her sleek red head tilted back as a yawn overcame her. Illao spoke her parting words aloud, "I better get some shut-eye. Good Night!" She rested her head on her paws awaiting sleep. It overtook her quickly, sweeping her away into the land of dreams.
Illao ran beside her sisters. They laughed and galloped together, still pups. Akiane didn't seem to be held back by her illness at all as she ran and giggled without wheezing. Kilpi playfully tackled Illao and the two of them tumbled in the grass. Akiane sweet voice was faded with time, "Illao! Kilpi! Wait for me!" Illao disentangled herself from her wrestling sister and pounced on Akiane. The white pup yelped and Illao recoiled, immediately. Akiane stared at Illao as blood ran down her cheek originating from a gash on her head. Kilpi approached, giving Illao a cold stare. Her parents appeared wearing the same, accusing expressions. The world suddenly became foreign and unforgiving as Illao's family became silhouettes, their eyes still bright and blaming. Illao tried to defend herself, "No, wait! I'm didn't mean to. I'm sorry! It was just an accident!" The young wolf backed away from her family and suddenly she slipped. The world around her seemed to crumple away into as Illao fell. Four pairs of accusing eyes followed her descent until she fell back into reality and woke with a 'thump' as she bumped her head on ceiling from jerking awake.
Light from the dawn sun blinded Illao for a moment as she comprehended her surroundings. With a stretch, she yawned. She jostled Jess gently to wake her. Then she padded over to Flint to wake him with a quick lick on his forehead. "Come on, you two. Time to go," she whispered. Leaving the den, she breathed in the morning air and shook off the eery feeling her dream had left her. It was a new day. A day in which Illao could find her family... and they would be happy to see her. They had to be. She waited for her companions to join her before trotting away from the ruins. She flashed a look back, wondering if the pups would follow the tiny parade into the forest.
-Exit Illao-

Flint: Flint woke startled after a bad dream. He got to his paws, blinking the sleep out of his orange eyes. He looked at the pups, and Jess. He nudged Jess awake, and she yawned and got to her own paws. Then Flint turned his attention to the pups. He slapped the older pup awake, not really trying to be gentle. He disliked James with a passion after when they had first met. Gently trying to pick up Leafa, he walked out of the den. Jess followed behind him. Flint looked back at the crevice, and looked ahead at the world beyond. He had somewhere he wanted to go, a power he wanted. He was going to get it. `Exit Flint and Jess~

James woke up quickly as he looked at Flint a bit angrily then sighed as he followed him quietly.
Leafa was quiet, still asleep, as she was beinh carried away from their home.
