Blaise:
At her arrival, the twins paused in their feast. The alpha was supposed to be given the first bite of the meal. Hurriedly spitting out a wad of half-chewed meat, Kanga offered Blaise her portion. ”I’m not that hungry. I’ll get some later. The sentiment is appreciated, though.” In truth, Blaise was rather peckish, but she had more important things on her mind. Manaaki responded to her query about the moose, ”Yes, it was us that brought down the kill.” Blaise had supposed that’d be the answer, still it impressed her. Bringing down a moose was nothing to sneeze at, not even for wolves of the twins’ stature. Kanga added on a ”Single-handedly,” to Manaaki’s affirmation. Blaise raised an eyebrow at the large, brown wolf. Bragging was frowned upon by the alphess. Manaaki sighed and rolled his eyes at Kanga. Apparently, Blaise’s opinion was shared by the older twin.
Blaise considered the two wolves before her. All boasting aside, their hunting skills merited a promotion. Hunter would be obvious choice, considering the feat that was giving them their new ranks. Blaise considered hunters the well-rounded wolves. They required both speed and strength to excel at their job. Both twins had those abilities, but both also seemed to lean towards one end of the spectrum. Manaaki has a slightly sleek and speedier build than his younger brother, whose build was bulkier and seemed more geared towards war. Perhaps, it was their combined efforts which had helped them conquer the moose. Blaise should then assign ranks according to their strengths.
”Manaaki and Kanga,” Blaise addressed formally, deciding that there was no need to wait to give the twins promotions. They’d proved themselves and promotions weren’t necessarily a private affair. ”Since you have both provided for the pack and proven your skills, I would like to offer you ranked positions in Secluded Sunrise. Manaaki, if you choose to accept, I’d like to promote you to Scout. And Kanga, if you also choose to accept, I would like to promote you to Warrior.”
