CalypsoKoa;Spring was nearing its close, and Koa was out in the cool, wandering through the trees of the valley before the summer sun would come and bake everything in a layer of heat. She didn't mind the heat, exactly, but there was something to be said for going for a walk and not ending up panting like one's life depended on it. Koa had needed a walk to clear her mind, anyway; not just to clear it, but to confirm a few things. She had stumbled upon a quaint little territory, unclaimed of course, late this past winter. It was small, to be sure, but charming in its own way. It was well-situated, with trees providing cover all around and an open meadow perfect for hunting. It had got her to thinking. She had gone to peek at the territory again once the snow had melted, and she noticed that the meadow slanted down slightly, and that the water was pooling in the bottom—but that wouldn't end up being a deal breaker, necessarily. Besides, any wolves that lived there could just build dens along the treeline, in the roots and the like. Yes, it had certainly got her to thinking... But her? An alpha? Koa frowned at a passing tree, deep in thought. She was certainly confident enough to fulfill such a role; in fact, it almost struck her as funny that she hadn't ever considered it before. It was a big job, but after her mind had started down the track, it suddenly seemed entirely doable. That was one thing her dear parents had always told her. Anything she set her mind to, she could do—even seemingly impossible feats. And starting a pack wasn't even close to impossible; in fact, it was downright possible! Her paw falls sped up as she got a little bit more excited. All she would need would be a few wolves to claim the territory and to hold it while they got things settled. Her storm-coloured fur shook as she thrashed her tail. She had never seen herself as a pack wolf, but that had been because none of the other packs seemed like she would enjoy them. But her own pack? Why, how couldn't she love her very own pack? Her eyes glowed with possibility, and it wasn't until she came to a little clearing that she finally stopped and registered her surroundings. She tilted her head, taking in a massive oak before her that stood in the middle of the break in the trees. She hadn't been there before, but she noticed right away that there was something mysterious and calming about the old bark. Koa took a few more steps forward, then found herself sitting a ways off from the tree, staring into it's leaves and feeling entirely content with her decision; for that is what her imaginings had become. A decision.

Nanouk;
Having the freedom to do as you please always had its perks. No rules, no restrictions, no limitations. The choice to do what you want, go where you want, and be what you want. It was a freedom that, surprisingly, many wolves had. But not all wolves really took advantage of it or really acknowledged it to its fullest.
Nanouk was one of many with that freedom. She was still mostly new to the valley, so with no pack and no known wolves to hold her back, she went where she wanted. Even now she was doing what she wanted and where. The dark-furred female had walked for a while, previously wandering the ruins of the valley before she found this place. This large, grand oak that for sure was known by many who lived here. It towered over the trees around it and looked like the picturesque sight of nature in its full health. The shade beneath it was cool and protected any underneath from rays of sun, though the whole valley was already cool enough from the passing winter.
The she-wolf had found herself at this tree not too long before now. She had taken a few moments to take in the sight of the tree, just as a new wolf was doing at that moment. She was quite tired after her walk from the ruins, so she had curled up amongst the roots of the trees, the small, confined space providing her with comfort and warmth. She had drifted off into a peaceful sleep, one that she felt she needed.
But that sleep was now interrupted. A scent had filled her nose that she didn't recognize, causing her eyes to open. She heard footsteps on the other side of the tree and thought she heard breathing as well. She lifted her head and scanned her surroundings, confirming that whoever had approached the tree was on the opposite side that she was. She slightly shifted her position in the roots and moved her head just enough that she could peer around the corner.
It was another she-wolf, one with a blue hued pelt and swirled markings on her head and lower torso. The female was a short distance away from the tree, but she was close enough that the black and orange she-wolf saw something on the other's face. She could have been mistaken, but it seemed to be a sense of excitement or determination that went through the stranger female's eyes. Any other wolf most likely have spoken up, introduced themselves, but Nanouk wasn't such a wolf. She would wait. If this female desired to speak to her, she would return the favor.

Koa;
Yes, starting a pack was within her grasp. It would be a pack based in knowledge and independence. Koa's eyes traced the lines of the bark. Her leadership, the betas and the gammas, would be smart wolves, cool, and collected. Too often had she seen wolves rise to power in a pack and then reveal their true colours—uselessness, anger, and even stupidity. Koa wouldn't want that in her pack... She chewed her lip for a moment, suddenly unsure. How would she be able to tell a wolf's true colors before allowing them in? She decided that she should meet with every wolf beforehand and speak to them—get to know them. The thought brightened her attitude and her ears perked once more. She knew what she wanted, of course she did. Her betas would be decidedly competent, capable of keeping order if she were away, and also willing to let her lead the way she thought best (though giving advice when necessary). They would be her right-hand wolves—the ones she could turn to for advice or suggestions. And the gammas? She paused and considered. The gammas would be cleverer still. The combat leaders, the planners. They could lead hunts as well as battles (though she hoped the latter wouldn't be necessary), for how different were they, really? A gamma that could organize the successful take-down of a bull moose could surely at least imagine a successful plan for battle. Her tail hadn't stopped wagging since she arrived at the tree.
Koa was so caught up in her thoughts that she almost didn't notice a flash of gold from the other side of the old trunk—almost. Her head flicked to the side immediately and saw a black-furred female taking in her appearance. The flash of gold had been from the very bright detailing along the stranger's back, ears, and face. "Hello," Koa said confidently and without hesitation. Second-guessing was not Koa's style, and nor were little pauses borne of self-consciousness. "I see this strange old girl pulled you in as well." She was of course, talking about the gentle old oak with the mysterious markings carved into the wood. There were paths leading to it, but none very well-traveled, and Koa had stumbled upon the tree completely by mistake. Was it just coincidence that both females had arrived at its sturdy branches? Perhaps.

Nanouk;
The female had noticed her and chose to speak. She wouldn't have expected anything else from a stranger, really. This female did seem very calm and didn't mind the appearance of the black-furred she-wolf. She actually seemed to embrace the fact that a stranger wolf was in her presence. The blue-hued wolf said her hello and mentioned something about the tree, perhaps to start conversation.
"I suppose so, " she simply stated, pushing out her legs and standing. She hopped from out of the tree roots, shaking her fur for a moment. She stepped out from behind the tree to reveal her whole body, facing somewhat to the side while her golden eyes remained locked on the female. Lithe torso, long legs, dark fur with the golden accents, surprisingly long tail, and piercing eyes were what made up the wolf that stood before the storm-pelted she-wolf.
Nanouk once again took in this female, more so in a bit more detail this time. As said before, she didn't mind the fact that there was a stranger in the same location as her. She also still seemed very interested in whatever she was thinking about. Excitement, determination, and purpose shined in her eyes. It was a somewhat odd sight, but it made her curious as to what was on this female's mind. Of course, she wasn't going to ask; her being the one to ask the questions and do the talking wasn't really in her nature. She would, as she always had in previous encounters, allow the atmosphere and conversation take its course.
(I will be honest. I don't blame you for having a little bit of difficulty in our Desoto and Nanouk thread. With Nanouk being a wolf who doesn't talk first it is kind hard to get anywhere in an interaction with her :/ Maybe this one will be better since its gonna turn into pretty much a pack invitation of sorts.)

((Haha yea, this one should go smoother!!))
Koa;
Not one for words, this female. Koa didn’t mind that necessarily, but it did make conversation somewhat of a trial. The female before her was well-proportioned, with a graceful tail that made her golden stripe look all the more long. Koa’s own build, in comparison, was much the same if not slightly shorter in almost all aspects. Koa was beautiful to be sure, and graceful when the time called for it, but her best strength was her adaptability. She had always been able to do things on her own, including hunting and protecting herself. She had never gone hungry, and she had never been in a danger that she couldn’t get herself out of. Perhaps not the fastest or the strongest, but always enough for what she needed. In any case, Koa didn’t let the clipped response slow her down.
”I found my way here mostly by accident,” She said, not getting up from her sitting position as the female stood. Koa peered into the leaves above them, yet stayed aware of her company. ”I was sorting a few things out in my head, and by the time I looked up, well, here I was.” Her ears flicked, flashing the vine-like patterns on the backs for a moment. ”But it seems like a good a place as any to make big decisions.” Koa was purposefully being a bit cryptic, because she half-wanted the female to ask her to clarify. She nodded her head in any case, content just to sit now that the decision had been made. Maybe if she sat by the old oak long enough, she would figure out how to actually make her plan a reality.

Nanouk;
There wasn't a way to gloss over Nanouk's thoughts as the female spoke. She didn't really care. It was kind of blunt, but what could she do? She wasn't going to act super cheerful to meet a new wolf or ask a bunch of questions; that wasn't who she was, so she wasn't going to act that way.
The female went on saying that she got here on accident and that it seemed to be a good place to make big decisions. Nanouk's golden eyes narrowed slightly and scanned over the female. That previous determination. was still present all around this stranger. It was painfully obvious, actually. Her eyes were open and seeming to look for answers in the branches of the large oak. Answers to what, the dark she-wolf was unsure. But she decided to humor the female. She left her little statement off at a bit of a cliffhanger, so might as well.
"Big decisions?" was all she said, turning herself and rubbing the side of her body against the tree, letting its bark go along an inch on her side.

Koa;
Just as Koa had hoped, the somewhat quiet female questioned her cryptic words. It had been slightly unfair and out of character on Koa's part to fish around for somebody else to carry on the conversation, but she hadn't even been sure what her decision had been, yet. But the longer she stood in front of the tree, the more she felt as if it was looking into her soul and making things obvious to her. Koa didn't know this golden-marked female who was running her frame along the bark of the oak. Not a name, not a background, not even an alliance; and yet, somehow Koa couldn't picture an evil wolf skulking around a tree like this. It was as if it was the very heart of the forest, pure in every aspect, and it was unimaginable that it could be defiled by the likes of darkness.
Koa inhaled, about to answer, then paused. Speaking it out loud would make it real—and really, truly, she had no idea who this wolf was before her. Could she be trusted? But honestly, the worst thing about her so far seemed to be only that she was quiet, and Koa could deal with quiet. Koa could deal with a lot more than that, in fact, and she was so excited that she felt she almost had to share. She took another breath.
"I'm thinking about starting a pack," She said confidently, and with no hesitation. She didn't mention just how set on the idea she was though, but even saying it out loud caused her shoulders to square slightly, and her chest to broaden. She gave a slow nod of her head. She had no mate, and nobody to start it with her, but her mind was almost completely made up. "I'm rather new to the valley and no other pack has seemed right to me—" She gave a rare pause. "And I don't know anybody, really, and have almost no experience... but it seems like something I really think I could do."
Well, it was all out there now. Koa kept her chin up though, confident in her choice even if it seemed somewhat unlikely.

Nanouk;
The dark-furred she-wolf finished her scratch against the tree and moved away from it, not really going towards the strange female, but rather away from the tree before stopping. Her eyes scanned over the large tree, taking it in for how large and dominant it was compared to the trees around it, which she had not done before this. The tree really was impressive; it stood tall and strong, long branches pointing in all directions and covered in newly grown leaves coming in as Spring advanced into Summer. Its trunk was much larger than a wolf and could most likely house many small critters, which would bring in many predators. Her only hope was that, at the moment, the two of them were the only ones near the tree. Handling more than one wolf, or a creature that wasn't a wolf, wasn't a very fond idea at the moment.
Nanouk then turned her head as the female continued. She spoke of starting her own pack, as well as the packs in the area, but only briefly. She allowed her golden eyes to scan over the female once more, now finding something to somewhat compare this female to: an Alpha. Appearance wise, she was a pretty she-wolf. A light blue-grey color with greenish-black swirl markings. Light blue eyes and average size. She wasn't really tall or really short. She didn't have too much muscle but wasn't super thin and lanky. Overall, she was average. In all honestly, Nanouk wasn't really sure what to expect an Alpha to look like. In her old pack, if you would call it that, she had seen the Alpha many times and knew what he looked like and acted like. But she didn't really see him as an Alpha, seeing him as family instead; he was her grandfather, after all. But she tried to do a general comparison between the two of them. The only issue here was that she didn't really know what this female's personality was or how she acted in certain situations, so she didn't know whether she would be a good Alpha. But then she realized. What if she didn't even want to be Alpha? What if she just wanted to start a pack but only be a member, not the Leader?
"I am new as well. I don't know of all of the packs of the valley. There's only one that I know, but it is only by name and alliance." She then glanced around the area, soon questioning one thing, other than her previous Alpha question. A pack has to have wolves to be called a pack. So...?
She looked at the female and slightly tilted her head, but her voice wasn't really hinted as curiosity as the action might suggest. "You need other wolves in order to start a pack, you know. There's no such thing as a one-wolf pack." She wasn't really hinting at anything with her statements, or at least not on purpose. It had just been a general thing to point out to this ambitious female. You can't just randomly decide to start a pack by yourself without any other wolves to help bring it up, she thought, taking a seat,

Koa;
Koa watched as the female's golden eyes scanned over her. Fortunately, she was not uncomfortable with being sized up; in fact, she appreciated it. She liked the idea that she was not getting glossed over as just another female, no potential threat or source of interest, but instead as an actual animal that had potential of her own. Worthy of being taken account of. Whatever the golden-slashed female was thinking though, was lost to Koa. The stranger was looking her over with both an air of calculation and something that reflected on reminiscence. Perhaps comparing Koa to something familiar? The stormy-blue female didn't trick herself into imagining she was a mind reader, nor anything close, but sometimes facial expressions spoke volumes.
The female said that she was new as well, and only knew of one other pack—but she knew its alliance as well. This was good! The female knew of the alliance scale in the valley. Koa knew of four packs herself: Midnight Silenceâevil, dark, dangerous; Eternal Snowfallâgood, peaceable, quiet; Secluded Sunriseâneutral, like her, but full, busy, and lead by an alphess that Koa knew she would butt heads with; and Frigid Plagueâevil as well, though Koa knew almost nothing about them. There could have been more, but Koa knew of no others. She nodded slowly.
"I'm neutral, myself," She added. "Somewhere in the middle. Some wolves view neutrality as somewhat lackingâas if we can't decide whether to be good or evilâbut I don't agree. I see it as a source of strength. I'm controlled by no expectations. I don't have a heart of gold, but I do have a heart. Therefore, I've decided I'm neutral." She smiled. "The only pack lead and inhabited by other neutral wolves, Secluded Sunrise, is full. I have no interest in being a burden to a bursting-territory." She got up and walked a little bit closer to the tree, though not to the female, as she had taken a few steps away. Koa lifted one paw and pressed it against the trunk. The bark felt warm, as if it really was living. Koa dropped her paw quickly and gave it a slight shake, unsure of whether it was socially acceptable to touch such a mysterious, old, and clearly powerful entity.
"You need other wolves in order to start a pack, you know. There's no such thing as a one-wolf pack."
Mint-green eyes flicked to the side and took in the stranger once more. She sincerely hoped that the female was just making conversation, rather than trying to explain something to her as if she were a pup. Koa was smart though, and knew that assuming only made things worse, and rarely better. "I had heard that, yes," She said, chancing a smile. The other female didn't seem especially friendly, but nor did she seem haughty. "That is the one thing I lack. Guts? Of course. Brains? In spades. There's even a territory that I want." She paused and chewed her lip. "It's just the matter of finding other wolves."
Her eyes flicked to the female again, looking at her from a new angle. She supposed she wasn't so bad. Koa didn't know her alignment, but if she were neutral... well, who was to say? Was that normal? Was that how a prospective alphess gained new members? Koa really had no idea, so brought her eyes back to the tree. She would play it cool, and see how this interaction turned out.

Nanouk;
As far as packs went, as stated before, she only knew of one. Frigid Plague, an evil pack with a Alphess she couldn't remember the name of. The only other thing she knew of it was that a wolf she had an interaction with was a part of it. He had been an evil wolf, but was more of a thinker than one who immediately took action. This female, she had a feeling, was neutral, like herself. But there was always that chance that she was good, as well. Her thoughts were cut off by a confirmation that this female was of the neutral alliance. She listened to what the female said, but didn't really process her words, or chose not to. The only part she really felt she needed to hear was the part about a pack she hadn't heard of. Secluded Sunrise. Its name had a ring to it, but she knew nothing about it except for its name and now its alliance.
She then watched as the female took in her words. The stranger had talked about how she lacked a number of wolves to begin a pack, but also that she had a territory in mind for when and if she did start one. As she said this, Nanouk saw the light-colored eyes of the she-wolf lock onto her as she stated that she needed wolves. Even if the glance hadn't meant anything, Nanouk almost saw this as a moment where a light clicked on in the storm-furred female's head. Is she.....no. She just met me. Why would she think of having a stranger become a part of her pack. She doesn't know anything about me. Plus, do I even want to ever join a pack?
Her own question whirled around in her head as the female looked back at the tree. Her own golden eyes looked down at the ground and her paws. Suddenly the question she asked herself seemed to weight her down. She tried to think of what the answer was, but was finding nothing. The pack she was once a part of was likely different from any of the packs in this valley, especially the one that this female wished to create. In her old pack she had been, in some way, related to every member, so she was always surrounded by family and no strangers except the wolves that had mated into the family and stayed. Did she want to experience the feeling of being a part of a pack again? Her thoughts went many directions. The comfort of having others around that she could trust and that feeling of belonging, but also the danger and the possibility of losing that feeling...again. She was conflicted, unsure of what she wanted anymore.
Without even thinking any further, her head lifted and her eyes went right back to this female. "I'm Nanouk. Neutral."

((All of Koa's struggles about whether or not to ask her, and how, are my own xD No matter how I phrase it I feel like it's gonna be awkward. 'Hi I'm Koa. Join my pack.' Hahaha))
Koa;
Koa couldn't help but feel that most of what she said was being ignored by the female before her. This irked a piece of her that had already been irked when she offered her advice. If Koa hated anything, it was being underestimated. She succeeded in keeping the bulk of her judgments at bay, but it was slightly more difficult this time. She wasn't just speaking for her health. She was speaking to be heard, and if this female didn't want to listen then perhaps she would just stop.
But then when their eyes met a second time, at least something of what Koa was saying seemed to sink in. Whatever the female had chosen to hear, it caused her eyes to fall to the ground. Koa stood tall, eyes never wavering, but watched as the stranger turned over whatever it was in her mind. Suddenly, Koa was eye-to-eye with her again, and she had learned that her name was Nanouk, and neutral at that.
"Koa," She replied, searching Nanouk's eyes for some hint at what she was thinking. Had Nanouk mentioned her alliance simply to make conversation? Or had it been in reference to the would-be pack? "Can I assume you're a loner, since you've only heard about one pack?
Asking if she was a loner was fine. It meant nothing. There was no hint, no connotation. It was a simple question that would allow Koa to glean a little bit more understanding from her. Before anything was asked, proposed, or even really considered, some sort of relationship would have to be built. This much was obvious. But how to go about it with a seemingly closed-off wolf?
"What brought you to the White Wolf valley?" She knew it could be a sensitive question, but it could also be completely safe if there wasn't too heavy of a history attached. It was like asking about the weather, but with a bit more substance and a touch less cliche. Besides, what Koa had already guessed and learned about the female lead her to believe that if she was uncomfortable answering, she would either simply choose not to, or change the subject. Either was alright in Koa's eyes, as long as it went somewhere.

(My school is closed tomorrow cause of the cold, so that means more replies ) Nanouk;The black wolf's face was now stern and unwavering, as Koa was. Her thoughts had been mixing together for a while before, but now she seemed certain of whatever it was she was thinking. She stared this female, Koa, in the eye and didn't look away or flinch. She kept eye contact, but allowed her thoughts to roll slightly. In all honesty, she didn't see this she-wolf as an Alphess. She was trying to see her as one, she really was, but it was difficult. She wouldn't see this female as one unless she gave her a reason to. She didn't know much except that this Koa was neutral, she was female, and she was starting a pack. She could only hope that Koa would prove herself to be a wolf worth forming a pack of her own. When she was asked about her being a loner, she merely nodded, feeling no other words were needed. But when she asked about why she came to the valley, her mind went back to the first encounter she had when she got here. The first wolf she had met had asked her the exact same question. Only because she had just met this she-wolf, she decided to give the same answer. "I came here merely running from my past, as cliché as that sounds." She shrugged her shoulders, knowing that her answer was very broad, but she wasn't fully willing to give away her past right off the bat. Her eyes then turned back up to the tree, watching its branches sway. "How do you intend to start this pack of yours? You have no other wolves and most likely no name chosen. Plus, if my assumptions are correct, the other packs of the valley are much larger, so a newer pack won't be known by many expect for those that stumble into you."(You know what. I've decided. I'm gonna make a thread where I just put up all of the drawings of scenes in threads I make. In almost every thread I have some sort of scene I'd want to draw, so I'm doing it. No going back now *filled with determination*)

Koa;
Something in the female's eyes hardened, then. Koa watched it happen before her. Something about the way Nanouk looked at her after that, Koa didn't like. Like she was being sized up and this time around it looked as though she wasn't quite measuring up. That was what Koa disliked most of all. Perhaps it was a weakness in herâbut when others thought that she wasn't capable of something, it gave her all the more reason to try. Not that Nanouk was even thinking along those lines for sure. But a slight crinkle in her brow, a flick up and down of the eyes, and Koa had a feeling.
She answered that she was running from her past. Koa nodded slowly. That was a common story in the valley. She herself had had a splendid upbringing, so she was spared from the horrors that so many other wolves seemed to have endured. She was lucky in that respect. She was about to answer in kind, when Nanouk launched into a few weighted questions. Basically, she didn't think Koa had what it took. That was clear now. Koa didn't growl, for she wasn't actually angry, but her voice was all the more confident when she spoke because of what Nanouk was assuming.
"I intend to start it the way that I do everything elseâon my own, until others come along that are willing to help me. Far be it from me to ask for help, but if other wolves think that what I'm offering and suggesting would benefit them, I would expect their help to make it come to pass, for it only makes sense to work for something you believe in. Ours would be a pack of intelligence and logic. We would not allow just anybody to waltz in and feed off our landâthey would have to be an asset; smart, and willing." Her mint-green eyes were suddenly not so much frosty as they were burning. Her mind was made up, and if this female scoffed at the idea before she even fully understood it, then Koa could not be bothered. She knew that there were many neutral-loners in the valley, smart ones at that, that would want a place in her new pack family. "The pack will be Ivory Wild, named for the white spruce trees growing on the outskirts of my desired territory, the Wildflower Clearing." Her eyes widened slightly as she spoke. She hadn't considered a name yetâhow could she, with having just made her mind up? But as soon as it came out of her mouth, somehow, she knew that was right. The 'Wild', of course, she had probably gotten from from 'Wildflower Clearing,' and the 'Ivory', from exactly what she had said. There were other kinds of coniferous trees growing as well, but the white spruce stood out most prominently. The name made sense. It sounded good. Koa allowed herself a moment of smugness. She could do and come up with all sorts of things when under pressure.
"It is a small territory, you are correct, but healthy with prey, sheltered from the worst of the elements, and there is already a suitable place to build dens for future young." Koa did not take these ideas on lightly. The name, of course, had been a happy accident borne of her quick-tongue, but the rest she really had thought about already. It wasn't in her nature to make her mind up about something without having thought it through thoroughly first. "And the other packs are larger, yesâsome more than double what I estimate that my land could holdâbut that means nothing, unless Power-forbid, they choose to invade us. But after taking this into consideration, I've decided that those that I rank to gamma would be logical above all others. Organizers of both hunts and battles. I would have faith in those that I appointed, and even in the face of adversity, I believe the wolves I pick would do their job to perfection."
She didn't even know if that made sense. Basically, she was coming back at Nanouk with all of the planning that she actually had already considered. Larger packs invading? Well, Koa would not appoint gammas unless they had proven themselves to be either skilled in organization, or extraordinarily logical. She had no other wolves signed-on to start Ivory Wild with her, it was true, but she had planned. She had thought it through.
"I'm not some fanciful pup that woke up one morning and decided to start a pack." She lifted her brow and chuckled, her words more joking rather than harsh. "I know it can't mean much to you, because you know nothing about meâbut I will do this. And I apologize for flattening you with my ideas—" Her teeth glinted in a soft smile. —but not for my reason for doing so."

Nanouk;
The dark she-wolf merely listened as Koa spoke of how she would start her pack, the apparent name she had came up with, what kind of wolves her pack would be, and how she would deal with the larger packs if needed. Nanouk had to admit it. This female really did have a plan in her head. Of course, there was that chance that all of this had just been her rambling on or her coming up with it on the spot. She tried to convince herself that it was all thought of by the other female beforehand, but she allowed that pinch of doubt to remain a possibility.
She then continued not to speak as the blue-gray she-wolf explained that this wasn't just some idea that she randomly decided to do one day. She also listened when the female apologized for laying her ideas on her all at once. She didn't really mind that much. Having information about possible future packs and where they lived would benefit her for the future. But that one comment did seem to stick in her head, even though it wasn't much.
I know it can't mean much to you, because you know nothing about me...
A very slight smirk pulled at the edge of her jaws, but she forced it too stay dormant. She lifted her head slightly and looked the female in the eyes with her own golden. "It is true that I don't know much about you except for what you have provided me so far. But I can clearly see one thing about you, " she stated, her ears perking and her tail flicking. "You're confident and determined in this idea of yours. You're not letting some loner make you doubt yourself. Those are qualities of an Alpha." A slight smile formed over the she-wolf's face, though she didn't really realize it. She had been comparing this female to wolves she knew in her old pack. The traits she had used to describe this female were basically the same she would have used to speak of her own father or her grandfather, who had been the Alpha of her previous pack. She had finally found a similarity between them and Koa, and it made her slightly proud of herself.

Koa;
A lot of what Koa said seemed to wash over the female, but that was to be expected. Koa and Ivory Wild were nothing to her, save the rambling of a random wolf in the forest that Nanouk knew nothing about. But it was part of gave last thing she said that suddenly Nanouk appeared more interested. Koa finished speaking and watched as the female clearly thought something over, then met her eyes and said her piece. Her tail flicked, and at one point she even smiled—but Koa didn’t really notice that. She had said that Koa had the traits of an alphess. Koa smiled as well, mirroring Nanouk. It was true, she was confident in it, but she also knew that it wasn’t just intentions and determination that started a pack family. She didn’t need reassurance, but it was nice.
She gave a brisk nod. ”If all it takes to be an alpha is not doubting myself, then I should have formed a pack many season ago.” She chuckled lightly. Alphas needed much more than just that. But it was a good place to start. She glanced at the old oak. There was a light breeze blowing, but the leaves seemed to barely be moving. It was mystifying. Koa turned back. The female before her was strong, perhaps not the strongest—but capable. So far, she seemed plenty able to keep a decent conversation going as well. A slight wondering began to grow in the back of Koa’s mind. She didn’t mention it, but rather tossed her head.
”I’m getting hungry. Could you eat? How’s about us loners try and score ourselves a deer or something.” Koa watched for a reaction. Seeing how this female hunted would give her a bit more insight about her, as well as help to satisfy the wondering going on in her head; besides, it as impossible not to get to know somebody while hunting together.
