Koa;
Even through all the mixed emotions Koa was feelingâconfusion, irritation, a grudging sense of comedyâshe could sense the tension between the two males. She had always been a remarkable read of others, even before she had been blessed, and in that moment it was all but palpable. Each male wore a pretty face of course, but even as Epicenter gave his suggestion, she could hear it all but at breaking point behind his voice. She would not comment on it, for he was her Beta, and she had asked him a question. He had well made the right choice to answer... but somewhere in the back of her mind, a part reserved for just Koa, not Alphess Koa, was laughing.
"I can guarantee that he has not learned his lesson," Koa said, now putting a mask of her own on and hiding her vague sense of amusement with a look of pure authority. "The Yukios of this world make a habit not to learn anything that resembles a lesson." Her ears flicked and she moved an inch closer to Epicenter again, close enough that the ends of the fur brushed in the rain. It was partly because the ground below her feet had become muddy and falling would be about the worst thing that could happenâand it was partly to gauge Yukio's reaction. Her tattoo flared to life on the back of her neck as it peered through her dripping fur. Why was he here? Would her moving closer to Epicenter anger him? Perhaps this was yet another stab at unrequited love.
"Though you do need to understand that whatever our history is," She watched him closely as she spoke. "We will not abide any evil wolf shadowing our doorstep without permission." This wasn't to say that perhaps they couldn't get to the point of Yukio actually visiting once in a while, as Epicenter had (grudgingly) suggested. Maybe he could even be a double-agent of sorts. Wasn't he basically a double-agent already? Between himself and his true thoughts, and the rest of the world? But this was not the time for that discussion. "You're both smart wolves..." Her eyes flicked to her Beta and traced the lines of his long frame. She then turned to Yukio, chewing her lip in thought. "As my Beta, and as my friend, I come to you for advice. What do you two think a suitable lesson would be?"
She already had an idea of her own, of course. But part of Koa's charm, and indeed one of the reasons she considered herself to be more clever than the average animal, was the way she could confidently discuss all the options. She was, truly, asking their opinion. A smart wolf is the first to admit that they do not know everything.
As she waited in the short silence following her words, she gave herself a quick check over. Something about the way that Yukio was standing before them—haggard, hurt, muddy and dripping—yet still unflinchingly meeting Koa's eyes, was distinctly charming. It was an entirely absurd idea, especially for her to be thinking while in the position she now held, but she couldn't help but be struck once more how attractive she found him.
She gave a side glance to Epicenter, quick enough to be casual but not so quick as to look like she was trying too hard. He was a more suitable match, of course. And not that she was looking... she was just searching her thoughts. He certainly wasn't unattractive either.
She gave a little sigh. Good thing she was a female that knew what she wanted and didn't have time for that sort of thing...
