Ilana Valdís "This was.. the most interesting fight I had yet."The beginnings of a growl slowly died down in her throat as Ilana watched, apprehensive. Her tail lifted ever higher, outright declaration of her victory, her right, her dominance in their challenge. She was small and she was quick and it had served her well enough; the slight wolf's muzzle smoothed, the snarl released. Her fur was windswept, her frame sharp and angular, legs long and straight. Said fur whipped around her form as she found herself moving away after her final attack, causing the wolf to appear all the more like the wind-torn warrior she was. Lean muscle rippled under her frame, taut and unrelenting. Her eyes were harder than steel, colder than ice; her posture strong. No, Ilana was not willing to simply let her guard down after her decisive win - who knew what else the man had up his metaphorical sleeve? But as he slid to the ground onto his side, her stiff tail lowered, until it was still by her flanks again. Iron eyes merely watched his every action as he forced himself to his feet, hefting his bulk upon a pink-leafed tree. In truth Ilana pitied the tree; she herself had felt the full weight of his body, and it had been grievously overwhelming. He was slouched, back to the trunk. She stood there, body poised to strike if he thought about challenging her again. When he made no move to do so she relaxed her stance the barest of a fraction, still unwilling to fully trust him. But he had fought well, Ilana would give him that. The fresh memory of his attacks caused a new bout of pain to coil around her shoulder, the adrenaline that had so recently numbed it fading fast. Her jaw tightened in an imperceptible grimace, so small it was barely even there. This would hurt for a good few days, a week, if she strained it further. Exertion found her muscles sore, the scratches on her nape scabbing again. But the exhilaration that had rushed through her lean frame brought new breath to her lungs, as if she had previously been in a daze and the taste of blood on her tongue invigorated her down spirit. The briefest shadow of a smirk crossed her lips, there one second and gone the next. Her mouth twitched upwards in that instant, so slight, so fast that it was almost unnoticeable. There were benefits to keeping emotions hidden. Satisfied? Ilana thought, as he trained his nose towards her. No doubt the tang of her blood was obvious in the air; likewise, so was his. Perhaps in another time they might have made good partners - not friends - but the heightened tensions found the woman easily on the offense, her position in their crafted hierarchy still new. "Well, you won Quiet... You won.."They both heard the unspoken promise in his tone. At this Ilana allowed a low chuckle to emerge past her jaws and into the open. You'd do best to remember it, she thought darkly, face neutral, and somehow still fierce, still untameable. This thought he would not see; she hid it too well, buried in the depths of her scythe heart. And so her name was Quiet... How fitting. "A commendable effort was made." Ilana said then, not raising her voice, simply allowing the winter wind to brush it by him. Her gaze did not flinch from him, but there was a softness to her words. He had fought, at least.

Snake;
His sore, aching body slowly moved towards the female. Snake sat in front of her, he had no intentions of attacking her, the female could see it. His blue eye nearly reflected some light, he smirk, his smirk was small and simple. Yes the female was very interesting, for a small wolf she won the fight. Maybe they would be partners, if they did they would surely be good partners. With her speed and his strength, they would be unstoppable. But no, maybe that shall be for another time. Snake flatten his right ear and ever so slightly tilted his head "How you feeling?"
Venom's legs nearly trembled, oh he could not even sit without some support. The male sighed to himself, sometimes he wished he wasn't so heavy, he laid his body down, on his stomach now. Snake buried his head in the snow for two seconds before pulling it out, the rim of his right eye had some snow on it. His nose with snow also and some on his snout where his cross is at. He did not bother to shake it off, just moments after, he got up and walked around. Snake seemed to have not made any noise, if only he was a different pelt color maybe, he could walk along the shadows. No enemy could hear him approaching for the most part, it had been awhile since he was in the valley, three years to be exact, he had his fun while out. Snake discovered new things, he still has yet to tell anyone about his journey.

Ilana Valdís "How you feeling?"Ilana was tempted to scoff; instead only the upwards twitch of her lips betrayed the fact that she felt something other than apathy. But what did she care of his queries, truly? They were wolves of this valley, mortal, winking like fireflies in the dark. There for a night and gone the next... it gave her a passing sense of amusement to consider his question and think about whether it would be worth her while to answer it. What would it give her? What gain could she possibly attain from humouring his ill-worded enquiry? Possibly nothing, or perhaps the short-lived engagement she might find if she so chose to deign him with an answer. But why would she need reason to do so? There was little warmth in her steely gaze, though her lips curled upwards just the tiniest fraction. Clearly better than you, she thought, while at the same time her glib tongue let other words slip past. She kept her face motionless; save the movements of her maw as she spoke, her expression was entirely neutral, if not a little amused. Placated, by his earlier submission. My first victory. "Well enough."She turned her white eyes upon him as he moved. He was slow, slow to bring himself to rest atop the snow-laden earth. His weight seemed to have overtaken him; the male gingerly allowed himself onto his belly, now entirely below Ilana. For a brief moment she considered what it might feel like to once again have his throat in her jaws as he lay dormant, but she dismissed it. It is no use subjugating a surrendered foe.But he was no foe. And in this state, bruised and sore - no doubt he was in some measure of pain - they both were, and she had clearly had the better luck with her sharp attacks, he would welcome warmth... Joviality... Ilana's lips once again tugged into a smile, as if she had looked upon the wolf and decided that he was worth the effort. In the back of her mind she knew it was merely a ploy - but her face was so still and so statue-like that he would have no hope of discerning her true intentions. He was quiet as he rose; in this instant Ilana took the time to properly observe his heavily muscled form. Of course she had appraised him earlier; but then it had been a clinical one, with a marksman's eye to identify and tackle his weak spots. Now, removed from the apathy of battle, she was better able to cast her gaze upon him and perhaps even appreciate the way his shoulders rolled as he moved, silent in the wintry air. In another life he might have made a good spy. She would have to take note of that. Little shadow, she mused. How you flatter me with your imitation. After all, was she not the silent, stalking one? Was she not the hunter? Again her jaws parted for her honeyed words to emerge, at odds with her warlike, wind-ravaged frame. "You will only aggravate your injuries if you strain yourself further." And what was the harm in offering commonly-dispensed advice? So Ilana watched, passive. She found herself seguing into a sitting position, upright on her haunches. She bothered not to calm her fur - it always looked windswept, anyway, and she thought that it lent a certain charm to the appearance. "You should rest."

Snake;
"Well enough."
The quiet female said. He gave a small and almost quiet chuckle, his pace would become slower and slower. His nose twitched and his tail swayed, Snake blinked as he came to a full stop. He said nothing for mere moments, standing still statue-like as he was deep into his thoughts, she was ok which Snake would be kind of glad. The woman made a well fight and for that Snake is pleased for now, he had some excitement, which is a feeling he had not felt for awhile. But he did not show signs of emotion still, his face was blank as he stood very still. After just a few more moments later, Snake finally shook his head quite roughly, he felt pain but he was used to it. Used to the pain he had endured many seasons ago, to him this was just a walk in the park.
"You will only aggravate your injuries if you strain yourself further."
Wait-What? did she..care about his injuries? No, that can't be. No of course not, maybe she was just simply trying to give him a common advise, where was the harm in that?
"You should rest."
No harm at all. Snake made a closed mouth smile on to his maw, small it was. "Maybe I should, but I'm used to it. In my past I hardly ever rested." the male said with his deep voice echoing through the cold air. He would have said more, but he does not truly know her well enough to tell her his past. Maybe if she asked but, what are the odds? The female sat down, he sat down at the same time. Snake faced her, of course not being close to her but his one blue eye almost lingered on her build. "The way you move... it's...intriguing... it's, quiet." he breathed heavily, heavy enough to where he would create a small thick air come out of his nose.

Ilana Valdís Pathetic, thought Ilana, mental lips curling into an invisible sneer. He sought once again to emulate her, by being still when she was, and copying her mannerisms as if she were a woman to intimidate? Yet to the outside eye her face, her eyes, were hard, chilly. They glowed like ice chips against the midnight of her visage, colder than the frost that would soon melt away into spring. Yes, spring... it slunk closer and closer with each passing day, and the winter would soon be over. Displeasure was evident in her stare then, for Ilana revelled in the burn of snow against her fur, and the ravaging wind that froze the lands and brought blood rushing to the cheeks. But her innermost thoughts would not be revealed to this snake-like male, as flat and as corporeal as a shadow was... Not even her earlier bestowed title of snake befitted him, for his attacks had lacked the cunning her body yearned for in battle; he had met her with only strength, it seemed, and it was in no way reminiscent of the silent, darting snakes. Ilana's face was carved into stone; her eyes met the wolf's coolly, seemingly without rancour. Perhaps but moments ago she might have been willing to watch him with a gentle eye, but it was becoming clearer and clearer to her that the male would merely imitate her on actions in a poor mimicry. It almost disgusted her, but she kept the placid smile that was already on her face there, the sheer intensity of the frost in her eyes at odds with her pleasant, soft smile. Or perhaps... perhaps it was not soft, but jackalesque, toothless and yet, still dangerous, muzzled only by the seal of her black lips. "Maybe I should, but I'm used to it. In my past I hardly ever rested." Did he think to impress her? Ilana raised a brow, the smile falling from her jaws. He was old, his prime slipping away from him, the years falling as sand in an hourglass. He was no elder, but he was clearly her senior and by a good couple of years - she could see it in the hardened edges of his masculine face, and the deep set sockets of his eyes. They were sitting now. "The way you move... it's...intriguing... it's, quiet."She brushed aside his most recent statement, choosing instead to focus on the prior words. A wolf who did not rest was a wolf who cut their lifespan by many months - years, even. Her brow furrowed on its own accord; perhaps he was one of the few who simply did not require it - like the fabled shadow-masters of the valley. But she saw no corresponding mark on his fur, so it could not be that he was a wolf burdened with power. Ah... this was interesting news... "Wolves should not make nests on arrogance's soil..." Ilana's voice, hollow and simultaneously full, rang like the melody of a windblown note across a bottle. It was musical and unnerving at the same time, impossibly smooth, unerringly strong. Her words were cryptic - but wasn't that the fun of it all? Perhaps the wolf would draw his own conclusions... perhaps they would be far from her intended meaning, or perhaps he might hit the nail on the head... Her eyes flashed. Now what might her shadow make of that statement?

Snake;
Arrogance? a word Snake hasn’t heard in a long time, maybe he’d call other wolves arrogant, but with good reason. Was she calling him arrogant? more than likely. He snorted, his tail swayed very slowly as he turned his neck to look behind him. Snake’s eye squinted as he heard something from a distance, or at least he thinks he heard something. But the wind did blow hard, so maybe it was just the wind. His ear right flicked, still looking behind him and he waited a few moments to be sure that there was nothing there. It was just the wind blowing the leaves around, but for some reason Snake did not feel… safe, the sun was starting to set and quite fast also. Maybe Snake was getting old and he’s just starting to get crazy. He then slowly shifted his head to face the female “… I’m not the type to do such thing.” he didn’t care if she would believe him or not. But what ever the case “But since it is getting late, maybe you should get some rest, and me, since I don’t rest much.” to be honest he didn’t want to rest, he just thought something was there. But his face was neutral, he looked like he wasn’t worried about anything.
Snake got up and turned his body to the opposite direction of the female, he walked up near a tree again and laid his body down. He buried his head in between his paws and shifted his eye to look at the she-wolf, suddenly it was dark now. When he looked at the female it was like she was a shadow or invisible even, her white orbs was the only thing that would stick out or at least that was all Snake could see at the moment. He squinted his eye once again to make it seem as if he was asleep, his breathing slowed down, he was quiet. The moon came out and shined it’s light over the darkness but some area’s would still be dark and since Snake was under a tree there was enough shade to basically cover him. As he squinted his eye he shifted only his eye to scan the area around him, then a drop of water landed on his nose. Snake raised a brow right before more droplets of rain would fall from the sky but he made sure his eyes were still half closed to make it seem as if he were asleep and since he has been doing this for years it is less likely for the female to notice.

DEATH GOD "… I’m not the type to do such thing."Outwardly she did not react - years of practise had instilled the discipline needed to school her expressions into those of neutrality into her. But Ilana found her tolerance growing dangerously short, her patience exhausting itself, and it would not be a lie to say that she might have lunged once more for the male's face. As it was, she kept her temper in check, and upon her visage, a blank (if anything) stare. The sun was setting behind them; it set the sky awash in fiery reds and oranges, tingeing the farthest parts lavender-blue. In the fading light she appeared even more radiant - bruised and swollen and lean and sharp, frame at odds with her sustained injuries. For all her training, it was hard to hide the slight wince that marred her lips when she rose, carefully. The sun's rays touched her fur and looked for all the world as if one movement would send her into flames. "But since it is getting late, maybe you should get some rest, and me, since I don’t rest much"In the darkening light, Ilana's lips shifted into a sneer. But black as they were, set against the night sky, it was unnoticeable. By that time the male had turned away from her; even so she did not move until he had lain down. His eyes closed. She did not care if he was truly asleep, or if he was merely toying with the notion of further trickery. The umber woman had no cause to concern herself with his physical condition, so she did not. If anything, the fact that he was lying down meant that she would have more time to run if he decided to lunge for her. But in the forgotten spirit of integrity, Ilana allowed herself, just once, to turn her back on the male. She began her steady, slippery walk away, calm and without haste. She moved as if she were the wind, gone as quickly as it had come, with nothing of use left in this area. After all... there was indeed no use left, and she despised the thought of pointless small talk. -Exit Ilana- speech OOC:

(Left this opened for awhile and I forgot to close it >XP)
Snake;
As he laid his head between his paws, more droplets of rain poured down. Now he opened his eyes barely and his expression looked bored. There was, a small feeling that the female wasn't there anymore. Snake flicked his ears but didn't move his head to make sure she left or not, the male scoffed barely. Was that it? A fight? It seems that was all she wanted, to fight and leave. Maybe Snake did something wrong, but then again he couldn't care less. The female was interesting, Quiet, was what he called her. He chuckled barely to himself thinking of what happened only minutes ago "Thank you, Quiet. I haven't had a fight like that in awhile.. And now I know what to do next time," he tiled his head up a little "I'm actually glad I bumped into you, if you were someone else I'd probably be dead." he shook his head in a 'no' motion as he spoke to himself. "Maybe we'll meet again... But if not I know both you and I would be ok, not caring much for one another." Snake snorted before laying his head back down.
He lifted his right paw and covered his eye hole so that no water may fall in, maybe he didn't regret coming here, even if he didn't find love he got entertained at least a little. And that would be fine with Snake. Besides, it would probably be better because of his curse, should he continue on if he had children.
