A home fit for.. Maybe a king and a queen?

Xenia had limped quite a distance to get to a shelter as the clouds started to catch up with the female and her male companion. That had gone from The Forest of Love, to The Hunting Plains, then to Amoux creek, only to end up here now. She felt nervous crossing the border at first, but knew there was a vacant area, having seen the pack that once took residence here move out for a more spacious territory.

The female looked up at the clouds again and then at the tunnels. "We can't fit side by side in the tunnels until we get to a little den inside.." she replied to him, looking down the hole. Before she waited for an answer she began to limp forward and into the densite of what used to be Dark Donoma's pack. "Just follow me.." she said, a bit uneasy in tight spaces, but she would need to get used to it, and of course she would be able to overcome it if Uther was there to help.

It didn't take her long to find a quick den near the entrance, she quickly limped herself into it and made sure there was room for both of them, thankfully there was more than enough room. The scent of the Dark Donoma pack was fading, but it was still lingering somewhere in the area. She laid herself down near the wall, close to the entrance, but not blocking it.

Uther

Uther followed Xenia. She limped slowly as they entered what was once Dark Donoma's territory. He crunched his nose at the revolting smell. Xenia stood at the entrance to a tunnel that must have been the densite. She spoke before limping into the underground tunnel system. His fur brushed both sides of the tight tunnel walls. It was dark, so he could not see Xenia. He had to use his ears and nose to follow her. A few times he bumped into her bottom and muffled an apology. After a while, Uther felt the walls widen and Xenia turn. He followed her into a spacious den.

The den was big enough for both Xenia and Uther. He could tell that she had lay down already so he took the liberty of circling around a few times before laying down. Uther felt awkward in the silent darkness. Xenia was too far for him to feel the warmth of her fur. Almost whining, he shifted his body. He hoped one of them spoke before he went crazy with the feeling of needing to be close to her.

Xenia scented Uther as he walked into the small den. Soon enough her eyes began to adjust to the lack of light, there needed to be something done about that if this was to be their home, she would find a way to fix it as soon as she could, that is if they were to stay there anyways, that didn't know what awaited them yet.

She was going a bit mad lying there with just the wall against her, wondering if Uther would notice, she slowly squirmed over to his side. Once there she couldn't up but nuzzle her nose and muzzle towards his shoulder, for some sort of protection and perhaps a bit of affection as well. As she got close to the male, she started to calm down, relaxing herself as she felt his warmth and to a certain extent his protection.

But this also came with a slight price to pay, and she hoped he wouldn't notice. Her heart began to thump a bit rapidly, fast that when she was stricken with fear of what might be lurking in the dark, it was now replaced with a fast and romantic heart beat, but she couldn't tell what it was or why. All she knew was when she was near Uther she got warm inside, and her heart beat picked up, and she felt a strange feeling like none other. The female didn't want to admit it, but she thinks she has fallen for Uther.

Uther

His eyes were just beginning to adjust to the darkness. Uther could see the den walls. The dirt was packed smooth after years of use. Smells of many older wolves wafted through the tunnels. A slight breeze died as it reached his fur. He took a deep breath and almost sneezed from the dirt.

Uther froze. His heart stopped as he felt the touch of another wolf against his back. The warmth sent his heart into a frenzy. The silence was filled only by the sound of his heartbeat. Xenia had snuggled up next to him. Uther was surprised by her assertiveness. Was this a message that she was sending him? Did she like him- love him?

As he thought harder about it, he realized that his reactions to her could be the result of... He swallowed and finished the thought. Love. It hit him like a ton of bricks, stealing his breath. A cold settled into his bones. What was this feeling? He had never felt it, but he knew what it was. Dread. Fear. Desperation. Thoughts circled into his mind as he feared his new feelings for Xenia. Then he felt it. The warmth. It was not a scalding hot warm, or a taunting lack of warmth, but a loving warmth. This heat was the body pressed against his back. Xenia. Uther knew that if he did not take action now, he may never have the courage to again. He stood in what little space there was and towered over Xenia.

"I love you." The words flowed from his lips like honey. Sweet and smooth. He lost all doubt and knew that even if she rejected him, he loved her.

Xenia was blushing furiously as she kept herself near to Uther for many reasons. The first being her fear of tight spaces and darkness consuming her together in one giant hell. The other being she felt protected by Uther, safe when she was near him. But lastly.. She wanted to keep warm, not warm as in she was freezing, but the warm feeling she felt in her chest as her heart throbbed and thumped over and over again.

In a quick instant she lost that feeling, but ached and longed for it to return as she felt the male stand back up. She whimpered lightly and looked up in his direction before she heard his voice  break the darkness. Time stood still as Xenia grasped what had just happened. The feelings the two were sharing had grown since The Forest of Love, maybe it wasn't a bunch of lies about finding your true mate there. The female gulped for a moment before she opened her jaws to speak back.

"I-I love you too Uther." she whispered as she halfway sat herself up. Once high enough, she found Uther's muzzle in the dark and licked him affectionately on his muzzle and cheek. Though he couldn't see it, Xenia was currently blushing furiously as she sat in the darkness, unable to see him.

Uther

Uther braced himself for Xenia's response. When she said those five words, his heart jumped with joy. He was about to go down to lick her muzzle, when she beat him to it. Not only had she said that she loved him, she had proven it. His tail wagged so much that he was sure that the ceilings were going to collapse. Uther licked her in a fast rapid pace. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, for this he was positive. He loved her. Love! "Oh, Xenia. I love you so much! I'm glad you feel the same!" Now that he had confessed and they had licked each other's muzzles for the first time, he didn't know what to do. There was no pack to announce that they were mates to. What did they do now? "Xenia, this might be a weird question, but what do we do now?"

Xenia was a bit overcome with joy herself, she didn't know what to do however as her tail wagged about happily and she returned just about every lick that Uther had given her. She was filled with joy before Uther paused and asked her a question. 'What should we do now.. ' she thought to herself before she finally thought of something. The thought however caused her to blush a bit more again, "W-Well.. We could always.. Start our own pack.. After all this isn't anyone's home anymore.. We could settle here, with a pack.. A-And a family."  she replied to her newly found mate, looking up at him through the darkness. "We'd need more than just our family though is the thing.." she added.

Uther

He tried to see her in the dark to see if she was kidding, but he didn't need to see her face to know that she was being serious. The idea of being a pack alpha thrilled him, but he doubted the family part. It took him a few minutes to convince himself, but he did. Uther wanted a family with this beautiful wolf. The way she said and did things made him want to give her everything in the world. "We can figure all this out another time. For now, let us enjoy our first night together." Uther licked Xenia on the muzzle slowly and affectionately this time.

OOC: that's okay. We can post as her being pregnant until they come. We could do, them just finding out, or Uther hunting for Xenia after. Anything like that, just to pass the time.
