Marley found the spring air light and refreshing as she trotted along through the tall grasses. The benefits of living in the largest grassland territory meant Eternal Snowfall had easy access to the Hunting Plains as well as Lunar Meadow which was her destination of the day. The brown she wolf had a small gaggle of pups with her to day, to be more precise, her grandchildren. Their parents were off for a day of romance and Marley was happy to watch the pups and give her daughter and son in law a break from pupsitting.
Soon the she wolf found her way into Lunar Meadow, a beautiful span of grass to the south of the territory. Marley knew it was quite a popular destination for couples but she figured that since it was the middle of the day the place would prove to be plenty appropriate for the young ones accompanying her. Full of energy and excitement not too common in her age, Marley bounded down a small hill that spilled out into the meadow where she rolled around playfully in the soft grass. Her flop into the green grass caused a cloud of pollen to rise up above her and float away on the spring winds. For some reason, this made the brown wolfess incredibly happy and giggly. "Come on pups!" she barked to her grandchildren.
Of the three pups, Hearth most resembled his grandmother. He was a rich, chocolatey brown just like Marley but where she had lighter brown on her back, he had red, a trait from his father. Despite his looks, Hearth's personality was all his own. The youngster was friendly, outgoing, curious and self confident and he planned on proving these things to his brothers as he walked along behind Marley. When the small group came to a stop at the meadow, the brown wolf could hardly contain his excitement.
It wasn't the first excursion out of the territory for the pups, but this was the first time they'd been taken to Lunar Meadow. Hearth was not yet familiar with all of the mountain valley areas but he had heard adults talk about the meadow and how it bloomed with flowers at night time. The young brute couldn't understand why his grandmother had brought him here during broad daylight when the flowers were still sleeping but he didn't dare complain about traveling. He wanted to see all of the valley some day.
As Marley romped around in the meadow, Hearth got more and more excited. He couldn't wait to go down there and play and as soon as his grandmother told him to join her, he didn't hesitate. Red tipped paws carried Hearth down into the meadow where he enthusiastically jumped onto his grandmother and bit her ear playfully before jumping off once more to face where his brothers stood. "Come on you wee pups!" he barked out tauntingly. The youth was ready for a healthy round of play fighting with his brothers.
