The Moon Shines Bright, But Not On Me For Years. {Open}

A red wolf, with a black brindle, and covered in scares, walked into the meadow. The moon shined, but he seemed lost in another time. Another life. The moon was shining as bright as it could, but he seemed unaffected by the beauty. Only saddened. He howled half heartedly. Not for a mate, it was a song. A song of regret.

Claws dug at the earth with each step taken, the young male venturing through the moonlit meadow aimlessly. His strides were slow and silent as emerald eyes gazed cautiously at his darkened surroundings. The many aromas of the land, new and old lingered within the grasp of the shallow breeze that swept through the terrain, leathery nostrils flaring as his lungs filled with the many scents surrounding him. One scent in particular was more recent then the rest, an unknown masculine scent. Ashen grey, black and brown fur bristled around his neck and down his spine to his tail, blackened ears twitching atop his lean head as he listened carefully to the many sounds of life that echoed within the unknown land. The soft swaying of the grass, the gentle whistle of the wind and.... A howl?

Head jerked slightly, eyes staring in the direction of the saddened call. It's melody echoing around till it gradually faded. The brute wasn't sure of his next move, should he go? Curiosity began to cloud the young male's mind, but his paws carried him forwards anyway. Bushy fox like tail swayed behind him, muscular form rippling as he picked up the pace to a slow jog, searching for the owner of the sad song.

Mike sang his sad song for what seemed like a eternity, then ended the song abruptly. His blood red and black fur standing out in the meadow. His scars pale skin, his eyes emerald green, his fur bloody red, his markings black as coal. His ears back as he looked up at the moon, as it looked down. He sighed, and asked, "All I ever wanted... And it was taken." His eyes looked up at the eye of the moon, not red as the night he had lost so much. Tears welled up, and he looked down at the ground as he thought of his two pups. Rollan and Sharia had left long ago, they where roaming the valley, Rollan with a power and Sharia with a heavy heart. His thoughts wondered to his mate, Marcie. She had been so beautiful, and the best Alpha Female he could have asked for. She had also been the love of his life. Tears welling up again, he thought of how she may have liked it here. He closed his eyes, head hanging.

He had only been walking for a short amount of time, this masculine scent becoming stronger with each step taken. His jog decreased in speed as he gradually came to a slow walk, emerald eyes searching the layout before him till his soft stare fell upon a figure that stuck out from the darkness. The moonlight shown dimly for a brief moment as passing clouds concealed its mighty glow, the young male crouching himself some as he watched the scar covered, crimson and black brindled male. Vasco couldn't help himself as he surveyed the male's coloration and markings, tilting his head some as he watched, Vasco heard muffled words.

Unsure whether to make his presence known, the young male pondered momentarily; silently watching as he contemplated on his next decision. Looking around once more, Vasco decided to take the next step forward, the young brute allowing a small chuff to escape his leathery lips.
