Ximena:

Ugly. That was the word Ximena would describe herself with. True, she hadn't prided herself on her good looks, but how wpuld she ever find love with a face like hers. She looked all ragged and torn up from the acid. Part of her nose was ruptered, there were scorch lines around her eyes, there were tufts of fur completely missing in ragged, random places. True beauty was supposedly only on the inside, but that didn't mean that everybody could go around being ugly, but kind. The world wasn't like that, Ximena knew.

Ximena hated Geist, she hated Geist with a passion. Her rage was so deep, she found herself looking for the one drug that would get her away. Love. Mabey she would fal in love, the have pups, then well, that was a long shot. She slipped into the forest of love then padded up to a tree. She wanted to try and hide for a little while and see her options, so she positioned herself perfectly in a comfortably sit with her legs out and stretched. She focused all her energy into her task, and then looked down, she was invisible.

The flicker of nothingness that was her didn't last very long. In just a few minutes she had to rest for about 25 minutes to re-charge her strength. At least Geist had given her a distraction and a cover. She didn't want to be a coward, but who would ever want to see her face? Also, there was the tiny fact that part of her doubted she ever wanted to let anybody see her face again. Only Mr. Right Guy, if only she could find him.

Mark had been running along in the towering redwoods. Well, not running, he had been trotting. But still, he noticed the trees become shorter and more pink. Nothing like this in my old home. Then again, we didn't have magic wolves either. Mark shook his fur, and picked up arcid smell. He followed it until he found a female. She was burned, with acid burns all over her. Mark padded forwards, his face kind. He wondered if he should howl, but he figured that he was too close. Mark padded up to the female. "Hello, miss. I am Mark, who may you be?" Mark asked. His icy white eyes sparkled.

Ximena looked up at the male with icy white eyes in front of her. He had said his name was Mark. Ximena liked his name, it reminded her of her old home, where she had known a 'Mark.' The wolf seemed polite enough, and so Ximena decided to return the favor, at least someone was talking to her. She was almost positive nobody wanted to hang out with the she-wolf with the burnt face. "Hello Mark, I'm Ximena." she said. She gave a small smile, though she could tell that the smile might be the last of many. "What brings you to these fine woods?" she asked.

Mark:
"It is nice to meet you Ximena, I was in the Redwoods and ended up here, what brings you?" Mark asked. He remembered his mate in his old home, and how that valley had burned to the ground and scarred the mountain he had called home. He had escaped the flames, his family hadn't been as lucky. Mark felt a shiver run from his head to the tip of his ringed tail. He hated remembering that, this was a new place. He could make new memories. Maybe with her? he thought. She seemed polite, and nice. Mark, being a good wolf, liked nice.
