Screaming for Help (Clover/Foxtrot/Blaise)

This was NOT happening! It couldn't be! Why was this happening? Those thoughts kept circling in Clover's mind. She had just been picking some interesting flowers, the she-wolf didn't deserve this! Sure, she ended up too close to an elk's young, but it wasn't like she wanted to eat it. The whole situation was a misunderstanding and now Clover was probably going to die for it. Clover ran as fast as she could, yelping when she felt the antlers brush near her. If the she-wolf had never left home, she wouldn't be in this situation. And even if she was, she'd have her brothers to help her out of the situation.

Clover panted hard, the area's many scents intruding on her pallete. Including the scent of a pack border as she crossed. Clover's eyes widened with the relevation and a plan began working in her mind. The loner didn't know what type of wolves lived on these lands but whoever they were, they could possibly save Clover's life.

The bay she-wolf sucked in some air as she prepared a howl but she cut it short with a scream as the elk knocked it's antlers into Clover. The howl had made the loner slow down, but thankfully the wound the elk inflicted on her wasn't too terrible. The antlers didn't skewer her, only scratching her side as she leapt away from the elk's attack. However, it didn't mean it didn't hurt.

"HELP!!!! PLEASE!!!!" Clover cried out. "MAD ELK!!! PLEASE!!!!"

Foxtrot

[/i] snow. A shiver went down his spine at the thought, but he smiled. But right now it's summer. A dark cloud eclipsed his happiness and Foxtrot's pawsteps became heavier. Ruko... He had failed a mission. It wasn't like he hadn't failed a mission before, but this one had so much handing on it and he failed the people closest to him. He let his head hand in grief.

A screaming howl pierced the air and Foxtrot's head bolted up. The sound was coming from inside the pack territory, yet he didn't recognize the voice. Who could it be? He made up his mind quickly and darted forward. I better find out! Ideas passed through his mind. A new pack member? No, they would not scream. An attack? No, they would keep howling. As he passed another tree, his view opened to a small clearing on the edge of the border. A female was sprinting in fear,running from a large elk. She seemed to be alone. It appeared to Foxtrot that she had run over the border in fear and was now screaming for help, knowing there were other wolves on the territory.

Foxtrot knew what he needed to do. A deep and large howl echoed over the clearing and he ran forward, towards the elk. He noticed the elk slow in surprise and Foxtrot took the opportunity to jump onto its back. With the elk distracted, he yelled at the female, "Hurry and run!" The effort from clinging to the running elk's back kept him from saying more, but he hoped she understood her position in this and took shelter in the trees or something.

He dug his claws deeper into the flesh and heard the elk scream. It began to buck, trying to fling him off. Foxtrot held on tight with his front paws and used his back legs to scratch its back. The elk furiously tried to eject the intruder, but Foxtrot's strength was too much to be thrown that easily. After a few minutes, the elk realized this and ran at a tree. At the last second, it turned its body and slammed its side against the tree. Foxtrot hit the tree hard, making a small whimper and losing his hold. The elk moved away and Foxtrot fell to the base of the tree, feeling the force of the blow. While he lay there, the elk faced him, shoving his hooves into the ground and preparing to charge. Now that he had the upper hand, the elk wasn't afraid. An elk without fear was a dangerous elk. Foxtrot knew this, but stood and faced the elk.

It charged. Foxtrot waited, stalling. Five feet. Three feet. Two feet. One foot. Now! He dropped his body through the gap in the antlers and under its head. As its head his the tree, Foxtrot leaped up and snagged its throat. The elk bellowed and pulled back, trying to dislodge him. However, the movement only pushed Foxtrot's teeth deeper into the flesh of the elk. Blood seeped into his mouth and Foxtrot growled, using his last effort to pull with all his strength. His tug gave way as Foxtrot fell to the ground with the throat of the elk in his mouth. He watched as the elk fell to the ground. It struggled for a second before passing. Foxtrot let up a quick prayer.

He remembered the female and dropped the throat, looking around for her.[/ul]

Clover kept running until a wolf suddenly came out of the forest and attacked the crazy elk. She had only kept running for cover and hid in the bushes and then began treating her wound. It wasn't too bad. As long as it was kept clean it would heal nicely. Clover looked out from the bushes and watched the other wolf, a male, struggle with the elk. She watched with wide eyes, scared that he would die in place of her. Clover didn't want that, she never wanted someone's life to be taken. Especially if she could help heal them.

Clover gasped, jumping out of the bushes as the male was thrown into a tree.

"NO!!!" She howled as she watched the elk charge at her savior and then...

And then... the elk seemed to drop dead. It was all so very fast, Clover couldn't tell what had happened. But she did know that the brave wolf was still alive and she wouldn't have to worry about the elk any more.

Clover stood there in awe. That elk had weighed more than both of them combined. And usually it took whole packs to kill an elk, especially one with so much life in it. But there the male was, still breathing. Still alive. Clover's tail wagged slightly before slowly walking up to her hero.

"Are you okay?" Clover asked softly. "That was... I mean... Do you hurt anywhere?" She asked carefully. "... Thank you, for saving me." Clover smiled. He didn't have to. She was a loner and had been trespassing, in fact she was still treapassing. But he did and Clover decided that he had a good heart. Where he placed his heart she didn't know but this wolf was okay.

Foxtrot

He opened his eyes. Based on what he had seen, crossing into the territory was an accident. She seemed to have an innocent heart that loved beauty such as flowers. Foxtrot decided that she was not threat. He licked the blood from his muzzle and walked towards her. His eyes scanned her fur. It was a light brown with a black back and legs. A white patch stretched across her front. It was a more natural color than most wolves in the valley. The only thing that stood out were her eyes. They were a dazzling blue. Their color reminded him of the Kai Lake. They sparkled in the light, but had a startling depth that captivated the mind.

Foxtrot pulled his eyes away and began to answer her questions, hoping to avoid the awkward stare he knew he must have been giving her. "I am fine, miss." Despite his answer, Foxtrot could feel the blood starting to flow from a gash in his shoulder. Dang antlers. They must have snagged be when I slid through. He hoped the blood of the elk would cover his injury and kept talking. "I am more worried about you. The elk gave you a little shove didn't he?" Foxtrot started to approach her in order to assess her injury, but realized that he had not told her who he was. It would be fearful for a strange wolf to come so close without introducing themselves. He dipped his head. "I apologize. I should not approach you so casually." He raised his head and made eye contact, giving her a polite smile to lighten the mood. "My name is Foxtrot. I am the male alpha of Secluded Sunrise, the pack that currently resides in this territory. May I ask your name, miss?"

Clover didn't catch on to the staring the heroic male was giving her. At least not right away. There was a small voice in the back of her mind trying to say something but it was too soft for the she-wolf to take any notice. It was only enough to give her a feeling rather than a thought. However, the she-wolf knew that she liked this wolf. Clover frowned at the blood as she looked over him. The blood from the elk made it hard to tell whether the male was bleeding himself or not. She hoped he wasn't, Clover didn't want someone else getting hurt because of her carelessness.

Doubt came over her expression as the male insisted that he was fine but she didn't press it any further. "I'm fine, the elk's antlers only scraped me." Clover replied, a soft smile slowly forming on her face. "But it wouldn't be only a scrape if it weren't for you... again thank you for that." she added. The bay chuckled softly at his politeness. He was not threatening her or at least she didn't feel like she was being threatened. It just felt like he was concerned about her well being.

"It's alright, you don't have to apologize." Clover smiled "It's nice to meet you, Foxtrot, I'm Clover." she smiled happily until she remembered where she was. On a piece of land that belonged to another. Her head dipped apologetically as her ears swiveled back and pressed against her skull. "Your pack is in a good place, but I did not mean to over step my boundaries..." Clover apologized in return. Her curled tail twitched a little in an instinctive response to go between her legs in submission. But it stayed where it was, keeping itself high in the more aggressive position.

"I'll be on my way if you're truely okay... but... I... I'd like to check..." Clover murmured "Even if it's just the smallest wound it could get infected and kill you slowly, I'd rather not let that happen to you."

Foxtrot

Foxtrot watched the female's body language. She seemed to be timid, yet she stood her ground against him. He had to admit, he was impressed. Foxtrot knew he was a large wolf. He had a large stature and a thick muscle build. Not many others could beat him in size. Despite this, she did not shrink away or show any sign of fear. It made him feel better knowing that his size did not intimidate her.

She said her name was Clover. Foxtrot let the name run through his mind and found that it fit her nicely. He remembered how he had seen her picking flowers in her vision. Had her parents predicted that she would like flowers? Or did she give herself the name after being abandoned? Or perhaps it was merely a coincidence that developed over the years. Foxtrot looked at her thick coat and had to resist a laugh when he saw flowers sitting in her neck fur. That must be the smell that seems to be causing a bubbling feeling to develop in his chest.

It appeared to him that she was trying to explain her reason for being in the territory. As she spoke, he shook his head. He didn't like revealing his secret so easily, as it could be a formidable way to discover information about others, however, he felt that he needed to make her aware of how he knew that she was telling the truth. "I know that you did not come onto our territory with bad intentions. Before I spoke with you, I used my power of Recall to see in what fashion you came to be on our territory. I know you were only picking flowers when the elk felt that you were too close to its young and chased you here. There is no need to explain yourself." Foxtrot dipped his head.

He then noticed that she was asking to inspect him for injuries. For some reason, this made his heart flutter slightly. He turned his head, avoiding eye contact and responded to her request. "I see no reason for you to do so, as I have stated that my condition is fine, however, if you feel the need to due so..." A pause broke in his sentence and Foxtrot let himself sit on the grass. "Please. Proceed." If this was what it took to give her solace, he would at least be willing to do this much. Although he was not looking at her, he knew that she must b staring and decided to turn his head to avoid looking into her striking blue eyes.

Clover tilted her head a little as Foxtrot spoke of a power he apparently had. She was lost for a moment of what the power 'Recall' before she finally remembered. Stories of a white wolf who had three other little white wolves flooded her mind from the bedtime stories told by her mother. Clover wondered if the first white wolf was still around or if she had died off. She slowly began to lift her head, looking up at the male only to find that he had dipped his head to her. He was unusual for a pack wolf. But Clover liked that. Too many packs had members who would rather tear a loner apart rather than trying to talk and assess the loners' intentions.

"Recall sounds like a powerful ability if you can see into someone else's past." Clover smiled softly. It became a little too hot under her pelt as she remembered what she had been doing before the elk decided to try to kill her. It was a little embarrassing to be seen caught off guard like that. And that poor young elk was now without a mother thanks to her carelessness. But hopefully another elk will adopt it. She's seen it happen before.

"I understand, but I've had others tell me that and it proved to be false." she smiled.

Clover moved closer to Foxtrot as he opened himself to her. She nosed at his body, lapping at the elk's blood to clean it off of the other. It was too confusing for Clover but once she tasted wolf blood she knew something was wrong. Clover followed it and frowned at the wound. It may not be life threatening but it was obvious it was deep enough to cause some problems if it became infected.

Clover dipped her head and cleaned the wound, licking the blood from her muzzle. She soon pulled a purple bell flower from her neck fur and placed the flower on the ground to show Foxtrot.

"I want you to find a purple flower like this, chew it up, and then lick it onto your wound." Clover instructed "It'll create a poultice and help keep your wound free of infection, but I also want you to periodically wash your wound with water every morning until your wound closes up, okay?" she smiled before chewing up the flower and spread it onto Foxtrot's wound. "I don't want to come around here again and find you with a fever." Clover said before quickly speaking up again. "Ah! Um... You must remember the flowers I was picking earlier right? It's the perfect place to find flowers for medicinal uses."

Foxtrot

[/b] He laughed a little at her embarrassment and gave a slight shrug. She must be embarrassed about something in the past. In an attempt to comfort her, he gave a quick explanation. "Maybe one day I will become strong enough to see into the pasts of wolves, but for now, your secrets are safe." A thought came to mind. Maybe she isn't embarrassed of something in her past, but of what he had seen her doing. Suddenly, Foxtrot became flustered and tried to patch his mistake. "And don't worry about the whole flowers thing. You seem to enjoy it and that's all that matters. Plus, they really compliment your blue eyes." He started to shift his paws as he realized what he'd said. Would she think he was weird?

Foxtrot looked up and saw her walking towards him. Although he was slightly disappointed that she didn't trust his word, he had to admit that she had good instincts. As she approached, Foxtrot felt his body tense with nerves. Relax, relax! She's just like any other female you've ever met. But something in his gut told him she wasn't and his stomach began it's tumbling act.

It took her no time at all finding the injury. When she first brushed the gash, Foxtrot had to bite his tongue to keep from making any sound. However, as she ran her cool tongue over his wound, he felt his muscles relax and the pain ease. It was so strange how her touch seemed to affect him. Foxtrot closed his eyes and lost himself in the rhythm of her cleaning. The warmth of her tongue ran over his shoulder and even as she lifted her tongue to start again, Foxtrot could feel the sensation linger. How such a simple act could have such an impact on him, Foxtrot didn't know, but he knew what he felt.

Clover pulled back. Foxtrot opened his eyes and met her gaze. She seemed to be speaking, but all he could see was a sea of oceanic blue that pulled him farther into its grasps with every lap of the waves. The sun beat on his back and Foxtrot felt himself drift in motion with the soothing waves and relax at the sound of a distant voice. Randomly, Foxtrot snapped back into reality and he stared blankly at Clover. What had she been talking about? He knew that his subconscious had picked it up, but it took him a few seconds to retrieve the information. He shook his head and smiled sheepishly. "Yes. Of course." Before he could stop himself, his words continued. "But I'm not sure I'd be as good at it as you are. Do you think you would be willing to help me until it healed?" Foxtrot froze. What was he thinking? Clover must totally think he was hitting on her now. He started to panic, grimacing in preparation for her response.[/ul]

Clover could feel the skin under her fur heat up as if she had control over fire. However, what was happening wasn't under her control. The bay she-wolf smiled bashfully and giggled a little at the other wolf's compliment. Well wasn't he quite the gentlemale? There weren't many of those out in the world.

"Thank you, Foxtrot." she replied, her voice softer than it was before. "They're my favorite, I'm happy that you think so... I— I mean..." her fur heated up some more as she embarrassed herself. Clover pawed at the ground softly before lifting up her head once more. The male was acting strangely, but perhaps it was due to his wound. "I would love to... I mean... I'm sorry, I've been on my own for so long I'm sorry if I'm a little awkward..." Clover murmured. "If it would be okay, I would like to monitor the condition of my hero and make sure he lives a full life for my mistake." she smiled.

"Maybe we could meet in the mornings? Or afternoon?" Clover suggested. Some packs she had encountered along her travels were picky about the wolves that would join their ranks. And the loner didn't want to impose. Being unattached did have its perks. "What is your preference? It doesn't really matter to me, I'm free either way..."

This thread isn't open because it doesn't say open in or on the thread, I just wanted to point that out.

When you make a character in Become please find an open thread or make an open thread. This thread is not open. Sorry if I'm repeating myself here but the word count isn't letting me put in a single sentence and I would only put in one sentence if I could. So I have to ramble a little bit lol;;;
