I'm standing tall, up against the world, up against the wall.(@shiver Strange ) Stormstar stood at the border of Midnight Silence. She looked at the ground, and another tear fell. She was going to die, but she would make sure she was remembered. She growled, her fur crackling with electricity. She snarled, and howled. Her voice was loud and clear, calling Fjord out. Her howl ended with a loud growl that faded slowly. She stopped, her blue eyes glittering with tears. She would never see her sister again, she would never see anyone again. Besides Fjord. She closed her eyes, and told herself that she was avenging her dad and Grandma. No matter what, she was going to get her revenge. Or she would die trying.

StrangeWho was this at his border? A female by the looks of it. She had thick, deep grey fur fading into velvety black. She bore a white star on her chest. Over that star in black coloration was the three slashes that symbolized the powers of offense. It was obvious which power the young shewolf bore. Electricity crackled through her pelt, making the hairs separate and stand on end. Although she radiated power, Fjord could see something else in the way she held herself. The solemn finality. She looked like she knew she wouldn't make it out alive. Fjord grinned, she was right. She wouldn't. It had been much too long since Fjord had tasted blood. He couldn't go killing his packmates all wildly nilly. He needed them, much to his distaste. They were his clan, the heirs to his glory, his back up singers to his malevolent ballad. The white male padded down to meet her, sliding half of the way on ice that he had summoned. He was getting better at this ice business, while the rookie with lightning down in the thicket was...well, just beginning. "Who are you to challenge my border, you knave?" He hissed, a frosty breath puffing through his gleaming fangs, red eyes glittering with Mal-intent.

(@shiver , @shiver)
You can give me death, but I will vow revenge, until my dying breath. Stormstar stiffened. She finaly lay eyes on the wolf who had mauled her father and grandmother. "I am Stormstar, and I have come to get my revenge on you." she snarled, her light gray face was stiff as a rock. She bared her teeth, and a bit of sun went through the clouds. She was almost just like her father, in her patterns. "You left my father and grandmother almost dead, my family was happy before you came along!" Stormstar yelled, her blue eyes suddenly teary. But they disappeared almost insistently. I'm doing this for Halo. For Mom and Dad, for Grandma. she reminded herself. I'm dying for a cause.

Fjord smirked even as he snarled. "Would you be happier if I killed them instead? I'll tell you what. After you're gone I'll put them out of their misery." The white alpha laughed a harsh, mirthless laugh, his blazing red eyes ice cold. Winter was setting in and the chill was blissful. This was his element. He would win this fight. There was no doubt in his mind. Blood red paws bored wicked sharp claws he had meticulously sharpened on one of the many rocks lying about his lands. These barrens, however would be fruitful when Marrow returned. Then he would have a gamma make among his ranks. Ice began forming on the ground, not yet solid, but still making the heathland slick under paw. Fjord began circling, ice climbing up his fur and hardneing into a thick collar around his neck. It was best to protect your vitals just in case.
The large male lowered his head. Giving her the first move, something Fjord al last never did. Stormstar should feel privileged. Alpha Fjord was giving her a chance. Slight as it may be.

Cause I will never go down any other way!
Stormstar growled low, and her fur charged. She made to flank him, her grace making light movements in the snow. She was not her larger father or older grandmother. She was smaller, younger, and had a power. She suddenly turned, charging her fur as much as she could to attack. She wished she could practice more, she needed to be stronger. She was here now, though. She had to live with it. Stormstar wished she could see her sister again, but that would be impossible. Halona was in the valley. All of this rushed through her head as she ran, steeling herself.

(After this post we will have to wait for another staffer to mod)
As the shewolf began to rush forward, Fjord pushed himself and ice immediately coated the ground, half an inch of clear beauty. This took a large amount of energy out of him though, so instead of attaching right away, he simply backed up seven paces, giving him time to recover before he advanced. He payed no attention to her flanking maneuver as he simply strode backwards. The shewolf could not hold the charge forever, and when she dropped it, he would strike. But until then, she was untouchable. For now.

.::Fjord backs out of the way of Stormstar's attack leaving her to skid slightly unbalanced on the ice. She can easily recover from the failed attempt in a couple seconds.::.

Stormstar skidded, slipping a little until her claws dug into the ice. She quickly regained balance, and started on another attack. She looked at the slick ice, and had a idea. She started running, her paws making the ice getting slicker. If she could get it wet enough, she could use her power to shock Fjord. She turned it off, leaving her defenses down. She growled, inviting Fjord to attack. "What, are you too scared to attack? Do you only pick on old wolves like my grandmother?" she snarled. That would get him to attack her. Maybe if she turned on her power as he touched it would work even better.

The ice was slick. Fjord noticed this and quickly covered his own paws with ice gauntlets to prevent unwanted sliding. He had used this method before, the large, knife-sharp ice claws on the mitt were deadly. He snarled at the dumb shewolf's taunt and barreled forwards, light on his ice clad feet. He did this so that he could crouch down, his ice-paws still gliding and rip at her underside as he passed under her. If that worked he'd cover his muzzle in ice, making his fangs longer and sharper. Then he'd go for her back leg, hoping to crush or dismember the leg completely.
The large white male rushed forwards, muscles tense and ready to slide beneath her.

(@shiver can post first after) Ready aim fire, ready aim fire away...
Stormstar felt one of her paws start to slip. She looked up, watching Fjord come at her. She felt herself start to slip around, skidding. She looked back at Fjord, her eyes finally seeming to register fear. She growled, but closed her eyes in preparation for the pain that was sure to come. Stormstar figured this is what her grandmother had felt before her leg had been ripped off. A plan formed a split second later. If Fjord sunk his fangs into her, she would charge her fur. The ice might even give him a burn.

.::As Stormstar is unbalanced, Fjord’s attack succeeds as planned. He opens a shallow, but very painful gash on her belly. He also crushes the bone of her left front leg. The leg will not heal correctly without a visit to White Magic to repair the leg. Without White Magic, the leg will heal to be limp, twisted, and unusable. Fjord is shocked by Stormstar’s charged fur. He is given a numb jaw that won’t be able to bite with a fair amount of strength for the next week/thread and is violently flung away. The landing twists his right back ankle. As a result of the wet ice, the electrical static in his fur will cause pain to Fjord until his fur dries completely. There is some lash-back of the power as Stormstar is slightly wet from the slick ice which flings her against the ground.::.

Stormstar yelped as Fjord crushed her leg. Tears flew as she was thrown against the ground and felt the lashback of her power. She tried to drag herself up, still crying. She looked back at Fjord, far away from her. Stormstar tried to take a step, but fell. Her leg was on fire. No, worse. It felt like it was burning and freezing at once. The gash on her belly was bleeding badly, and it hurt. Her entire body trembled with pain. Storm growled, low and deep. She dragged herself with her one good leg to Fjord. She wanted to make him remember her, and other wolves to know that someone had gotten her revenge.

Fjord hissed, rearing his head back. His jaw was unable to move much without a stab of pain tracing up to his ears. Anger flaring in his eyes he re-evaluated the situation. He was still standing the ground, his back paw throbbing painfully. He didnt have much to go on really. He if course had his skills, his talent and violent history backed him up. But without his teeth, he wouldn't be able to fatally wound the shewolf. However, seasons ago, he had visited Giest, the witch, and she had administered a power to him. So that was what he would fall back on.
Instead of attacking immediately he gathered his remaining energy, focusing it in his eye where his powermark was. Power surged through him as he watched the bleeding shewolf pad slowly towards him. He twitched slight from the shocks still stinging him, the static zapping annoyingly in his damp pelt. Ready for the pain that would surely come, he began his work.
Behind Stormstar, rising from the ground knife-sharp spikes emerged, closing off her escape. She could escape if she leaped over them, but the ice was climbing so high that the tip would rip her wound farther open and make many shallow ones along her underside. This was all behind her so she wouldn't notice. If front of her, however Fjord was forming ice around his muzzle. It was useless for now, but with the ice over it. Large, deadly spikes erupted from the ice around his mouth, two holes in it so he could breathe.
Blood red eyes narrowed Fjord began his attack. He rushed forwards on three legs, sliding over the ice towards his prey. Lethal spiked mouth ready to gouge at her neck. He swung his hindquarters out if the way as he darted back after delivering his attack. Making the ice had taken alot out if him, exhaustion threatening his consciousness.

Stormstar watched the ice rise up around her, and watched Fjord come at her. She growled, as his fangs came at her. She focused the rest of her energy on her power, and the three slashes glowed red. Her fur charged as she lashed out with her own paw at Fjord's face. If she died, it was with honer and pride. She felt herself lose consciousness after her paw hit, and fell. Her blue eyes closed, she needed to rest i the soft snow that had started to fall... It was nice, no more pain. She was still alive, just out like a light.

.::Stormstar's paw connects solidly with the side of Fjord's muzzle. It deflects the main attack, but the ice shatters with the impact. The ice shrapnel flies in all directions and leaves shallow scratches all over the two wolves' head and necks. Other than the scratches, the ice leaves a deep slash on Stormstar's right cheek that will scar without White Magic's healing and larger pieces of ice embedded in the right side of Fjord's muzzle. After the ice melts, the wounds will also scar without magical aid. The charge in Stormstar's fur causes a sharp jolt that once again flings Fjord a couple feet away. The combination of the electrical shock, the power behind Stormstar's blow, and Fjord's own exhaustion forces him into unconsciousness. He'll recover in at least ten minutes.::.
