A flash of bright yellow zoomed through the trees, making the bare brush and twiggy undergrowth bend in its trail. Small, light clawed paws tapped the frosted ground rapidly as the wolf ran, eating up distance faster than a bear eats berries after hibernation. It was Treble. A smartly put together male with a heart bigger than his grin. He was always happy, a wag taking his tail. And he was even happier with his new found love, Halona Darksdaughter. Halona was a pretty black and white female with rich dark gold for irises. When they first met, the relationship was a bit-no-entirely, one sided. But through their journeyings, they grew to love each other genuinely. Presently they were racing through the timber, flying swiftly towards the glimmering puddle, Kai Lake. Snow puffed up in the trails of the two lovers, adorning the brisk air with shimmering crystals. Skidding to a halt in the thin layer of snow, Treble huffed, his rib age expanding and contracting after each, gargantuan breath. Everything was the silent peace that consumed winter time, a violent quietness if you will. The noiseless wind was cut through by the loud, rapid crunching sound that accompanied Trebles one and only, Halona.
Halona arrived, her sprint evolving into a crisp trot before relaxing into a casual pace. She came to a stop next to her love, Treble. She nosed his cold penetrated ear with her freezing nose, then nuzzled his neck directly under his jaw. "Isn't it wonderful?" Treble spoke, in awe.
"Yes, it truly is." Halona answered turning her attention to the landscape sprawling out before her. Kai lake stretched out, its shores coated with shelves of ice. Beyond the opposite bank were rolling hills of gleaming white. While winter was dangerous and hard, the pair refused to focus on the bad. Instead they chose to view the beauty in life. Together. Recently they had decided to have pups, winter was the season of love after all. Starting a family in the spring would bring new joy to their happy lives.
Turning away from the winter wonderland, Halona and Treble retreated, tracing their way back to the den they had chosen the previous week. Their pace slow, their breathing deep, their beating hearts one. While Halona didn't exactly see eye to eye with Treble, they were as happy as a pair of worms in dirt.
(Bad description? XD)
The pair halted in front of a striped limestone shelf, the soft, acidic stone eroded by the lake. Carved into the shelf was a small cave opening. Walking inside, the main chamber could be observed. It was made completely from limestone and was rather cold. Branching off from the cavity were two tunnels. One led to a higher up chamber, cozy in earth instead of rock. The other passage let out into the forest surrounding the lake. This way if the lake ever flooded, there was a way to escape. Smiling, the two wolves slid up the tunnel and into the higher room. There would start the beginnings of a great generation.

~much later~ Rykett@pittypat Adante: It was a beautiful day. The little pup wagged his stumpy ivory tail with excitement. Today was the day that Daddy would take them out to the lake shore! This was so exciting, Adante couldn't wait. Energy was practically radiating from him. He couldn't wait to see what kind of flowers were out by the lake. Mother had only brought a few blossoms and they were all covered in frost. It was so cold outside, he wondered how the flowers could even survive. But Mother said it was nearly spring time. Adante wondered if in spring, the ice on the ground would be orange instead of white. Dad seemed to find this notion very funny. "Aurelia! Don't you think the sky is very beautiful today? I can't wait to see what it looks like reflected in the lake!"Allegro: It was a horrible day. Everything was painfully bright. Even in the darkest recesses of the den, the reflective snow blazed a cold white light. Screwing his eyelids shut over his deep purple eyes, Allegro moaned. His stupid brother was talking again. The annoying thing just needed to shut his springy trap. Clamping his red hued paws over his muzzle, he gritted his teeth, his temper threatening to blow. Yap yap yap. Butterflies and rainbows and stupid happy things. "Will you just shut up." Allegro moaned lazily. He was much to gloomy to actually go into a rage. Halona: It was a cold day. Halona shivered despite her thick coat. Treble was crazy! How could he take their precious darlings out into the ice in a day like this? Yes, spring was coming, and yes, the wind was getting warmer. But it was still winter! Rolling her turquoise and gold eyes, Halona lifted her head. "Hush Allegro. It's a beautiful day, let your brother enjoy it." The white and black shewolf nuzzled her grey ticked pup, even as he cringed and scooted away. "but, if you don't want to go, you can stay inside with me."Treble: It was an eventful day. "Guess who's home!!" A bright yellow wolf stumbled over his large paws and tumbled into the den, a fat white ermine hanging from his grinning jaws. "Too bad you kids can't eat neat just yet, this is for your mother, my angel Halo." Treble carried the weasel to his beloved, accepting her small smile if thanks. "Anyway! Who's ready to go on an adventure?!"

Skia:
It was a fun day. Skia was actually smiling. Smiling! It was a very evil smile, though. She had given a mission by Alpha Fjord. A mission to kill. It would be so much fun! Plus, she would gain the powerful rank of alphess. There were only a couple things bothering Skia at that moment. First of all, there was the painful wound on her chest. It was still bleeding, but the scarlet liquid blended well into her red fur. The other matter was the task of finding a target. Skia was on her way to the Amoux Creek, figuring that if she waited there long enough a wolf would walk straight into her path. They would be expecting a refreshing drink of water, but instead would receive death.
Usually, Skia was an ‘attack first, questions later’ kind of wolfess, but for the mission she would make an exception. She required to know whether the wolf(ves) she killed were of good alliance so she didn’t need to wonder whether her mission was complete. So today she would try her paw at trickery.
As Skia’s paws crunched on the gravely shore of the creek, she sighed, settling herself down for a long wait. Stakeouts were boring. Maybe, today wouldn’t be as fun as she thought. Fortunately though, the wind carried the strong scent of wolves to Skia’s nose. Her evil smile reappeared and the red wolf loped along the creek.
Skia approached Kai Lake cautiously. She used the dips in the landscape to hide her approach though her pelt didn’t help in her efforts of camouflage. Settled in a hollow of snow, she could see the figures of wolves on the opposite side of the lake. They shouldn’t be able to see her, though. It looked like a family. Skia would enjoy tearing them apart. She realized that she wouldn’t be able to hide her presence anymore if she tried to approach anymore. Skia decided to stay put until a more appeasing opportunity to attack appeared or until Skia concocted a plan to maintain her element of surprise.

Aurelia: It was a terrifying day. Aurelia was scared, it was the first time she was going to see Kai lake. She was fretting over everything, what if she went on the ice? What if Daddy went on the ice? She curled her tail over her paws. She knew something that might calm her down, a story. "Mommy, can you tell me about auntie Stormstar?" she asked. In her mind her aunt was a wolf of great power, that could wild lightning. A noble wolf that had helped keep Mommy and Daddy together and had led them on the way to get their powers. Auntie Stormstar had had a star like her too. When Daddy came home, however, she made a "Blah" noise at her brothers, her paw at her mouth.

Halona: "Stormstar?" Halona's wild eyes lit up with a warmth as she reminisced. Her sister Storm was a very brave soul. She was fiercely loyal and she would do anything for her family. To this day, Halo didnt know if she was still alive, or had died by Fjord's evil scarlet paw. Halona pushed away the feeling of hopelessness and dread, and instead looked down upon her spawn. She was beautiful, the dove grey soft and velveteen in the dim light of the den. "I'll tell you all about my adventures with auntie Stormstar once you comeback. Now shoo! Daddy will take care of you!"
Treble: Treble stepped outside of the den, head raised, eyes closed tight. He sucked in the chilly air, his electric violet eyes snapping open, alight with excitement. "Come on kids! Today will be your first day out of the front yard! Adventure is out there!" A goofy grin sprung into his yellow muzzle and he nosed a pathway through the snow. He didnt want his beloved kiddos getting cold.
Adante: The little pup smiled and followed his father, a little spring in his step. His large paws padded on the hibernating grass that was revealed by his father. Grass. So maybe the grass would wake up in the spring, instead of the snow changing color.

Allegro:
Allegro scooted himself into the far end of the den into a little niche that he liked to think was his own. A little crevice he could just fit into and be alone when people were bugging him. It was just right for a pup his size and he took up the whole thing, so his "sunshine and butterflies" nosy brother and sister couldn't follow him. His dark violet eyes watched without interest as his father and siblings left the den. The snow was pushed away easily and made a sloshing noise as the male pushed it aside. A dead brown substance underneath was revealed - grass he guessed. "Still dead? Good, why can't you just stay that way and leave me alone? I want Winter to stay." He enjoyed the gloom, the cold, the struggle. The sun hurt his eyes, the happy voices of his family hurt his ears. He hated them. He hated the sun and the happiness, why couldn't they leave him alone?
Sighing, realizing that he would be stuck with Mom for a while, he turned around in his niche and lay his head down and closed his eyes. I wanted to enjoy the time alone, but that would be hard to do with the stupid sun being so bright, so he had to escape it, escape to the dark of his niche and the dark of sleep.

Skia:
Skia had a plan. It came to her as she watched the group of wolves separate. One yellow larger wolf started to trudge away from the other larger figure. Some of the smaller figures followed him while one ducked inside a den that was carved into sandstone. With the two adult wolves apart, Skia could attack one without too much trouble from the other. Probably by the time the other noticed, it would be too late and Skia would be coming for her/him.
Though instead of charging across the beach and digging her teeth into the closest wolf, Skia had decided to act injured. If one or both were of good alliance, they would be eager to aid her. Skia examined her chest wound which was still bleeding somewhat. There needed to be more blood to sell the fake injury. Skia carefully reopened the gash with a careful claw. She winced at the flash of pain. Then she tucked her leg against the wound. The blood wet the leg fur and made it look gravely wounded if glanced at without close inspection. Skia planned to be killing before they got her into their den in order to nurse her back to health. The performance was only required to get close to the wolves and determine whether they were good. Then Skia could release her rage and kill them all.
Skia stumbled out into the open. She pushed the leg up against her chest as she limped towards the group of wolves. She winced at every step. Skia didn’t need to fake the expression, the cut pulsed sharply with pain, but she was able to conceal the look of pain then show her pain in synchronization with her pawsteps. As she drew within range, Skia swallowed the saliva in her throat to cause her mouth to become drier, so her voice would sound hoarse and desperate. ”Help!” Skia’s rough voice carried over the land, ”Please help me!” Skia purposely stumbled then seemingly recovered before limping onward.

Aurila: Aurila raced ahead of her brother and father. She slid on the slick snow and toppled into the lake. She came up, laughing. She was in a shallow part, really shallow. "Daddy look! I'm swimming!" she yelled. "I know just the power I want when I grow up!" she said smiling. For a scary-cat puppy, she had found something she loved. Aurila pounced around in the water, going after fish? Her fur soon sopping wet, she ran with such speed in the water that she ran in a little too deep. She didn't take long to learn to swim, she loved swimming! "Adante! Come on in, I dare you to swim!"

(Leave me alone will ya. Just bump me in my bump thread. Please refrain from bumping me until a week has passed. -_-)
Treble: The father was pleasantly surprised as his most skittish, cautious pup leaped right into the newness. This was their first time out. Perhaps little Aurelia was braver than she thought she was. A warm smile floated lovingly into the sunny males lips as he watched his daughter swim. "A power? Which one." Well she was an ambitious little rascal. "Come in Adante!" Treble yipped as he splashed into the freezing cold water. Treble wasn't very worried, wolves rarely came to this side of Kai Lake. He was as happy as a wolf could be, no worries.
Only, a wolf did appear. She was a lovely shade of red, yet there was a darker red spot on her chest. This wasn't a marking in her fur, Treble realized. She was bleeding. She yelped for assistance and Treble only hesitated to quip to his two pups. "Adante, Aurelia, run back to the den, I'll be there in a moment." Treble smiled, though his eyes were wide with worry.
"Miss? Are you alright?" He padded up to her.
Adante: The pup grinned at his sister and was about to leap into the water as his dad had suggested when a loud bark filled his ears. He jumped, his pelt tingling in surprise. Adante rolled his shoulders to relax when daddy told him and his sister to go home. The white pup frowned but turned away from the scene, padding slowly home. But was inevitable distracted by a bright orange flower pushing through the snow not to far away. He bounded over to the inspiring bloom, his mostly white pelt blending into the icy landscape, unseen and undetected.
Halona: The half-white shewolf noticed her grey flecked son slip away into the shadows. The new mother frowned, not knowing what to do. Allegro obviously didnt want to accompany his father and siblings on their little 'adventure.' Halo struggled for a moment, wondering what she could do before slipping down the tunnel and tentatively poking her nose into his sandy crevice. "Hey, Al. Is everything alright?"

Allegro:
"Al?" Didn't she know that he hated that nickname? ...And what did people not understand about him coming to his crevice to be alone?! He testily slit his eyes and stared at his mother. He should have loved her, he should have trusted her. But then why did he feel so bitter and mistrustful? He was tempted to growl, but wasn't in the mood for a reprimand from his father and siblings later, so his just heaved a sigh and put on his unassuming puppy face. "Yeah, just -" What was a good excuse? Hungry? Bleh, that didn't make any sense. Angry? That would really alarm her, and then a long talk with more acting. He was already failing at acting. Tired? ...that would hold. He faked a yawn, his ears falling back and his face almost splitting in half, the stupid expression that his mother called cute. "I'm just kinda tired Mom, I might catch a nap," he curled back up, ears still against his head and closed his eyes, slitting one just enough to watch his mother and see if she would take the story.

Skia:
Perfect. This was perfect. The yellow wolf was separating himself from the other wolves. Skia realized, of course, a couple pups would only be an annoyance if they tried to intervene. In fact, it be enjoyable to watch their horrified faces as Skia killed their caretaker. Maybe she could indulge herself and kill them as well. For now, they would at least be out of the way while Skia made her first move.
The "injured" Skia continued limping toward the yellow male. In response to his words, Skia spoke, wincing with every word, "What do you think? I'm bleeding profusely and limping and calling for help! Of course I'm not alright!" Just because she was playing an injured wolf, didn't mean she had to act completely Good. Plus a little could help sell the act.
Suddenly Skia groaned and stumbled again, nearly collapsing this time, while her face morphed in one of intense pain. Her injured persona's personality, or rather the personality Skia might had if she wasn't absolutely evil, was quickly becoming clear. A she-wolf who had an attitude and would rather look after herself, but was so injured that her only choice was to ask for help. "I'm sorry, please just help me! Surely a Good wolf such as yourself wouldn't turn away a wolf in need. You are Good, right?"

Arulia: Arulia laughed as she was splashed by her father, splashing him back. When the red wolf appeared, she obeyed her father. A little. She saw how far it was, and cowered back into a bit of reeds. She glared at Adante, and shot out to grab him by the scruff. Growling in a way only a ticked off little sister could, she dragged him back to her hiding spot. It would be hard to see them there, but they could watch. Aurlia glared at her brother with a nip. She was terrified in truth and it was taking everything not to cower. Pressing close to her big brother and pressed her face into his flank and whispered, "I'm scared, what if this wolf dies? What if daddy ends up not being the same? What if..." Aurlia stopped herself.

Halona: Her teal eyes softened and she licked her sons head. "Rest well Darling." The white and black mother returned to her alcove to rest some more. However, she was just a lump of worry as she knelt down to rest. Allegro was being increasingly grumpy, always the pessimistic pup in the trio. Silently, Halo wondered where she had gone wrong.
Adante: as Aurelia drug him over to her hiding place, His eyes widened. This wasn't the Aurelia he had always known. His sister was afraid of literally everything. A twig snapping sent her running to mother, a leaf falling made her think it was the end of the world. How come she was suddenly able to jump right in and swim, usually she would be frozen to the spot, cowering. Surprise filling his eyes, he backed away from the silvery shepup. "Who are you and what have to done with Aurelia?!" He yipped and scampered away from the imposter. His clumsy paws led him towards the den. ((XD oh Allegro, she's your sister! Little Boys and their imaginations!))
Treble: "Im sorry, come now, you can have a bite to eat." He neared the red shewolf and placed his shoulder on hers so she could lean on him. "If I wasn't a good wolf, I don't think us be helpin' you right now." Treble chuckled as he led the woman towards the den that was at least 1,000 tail lengths away.
((Let's get this done soon, I would like to have MS leave ASAP))

Allegro:
He nodded 'sleepily' as his mother gave him a quick lick and nuzzle and padded to a different 'room' of the den to rest by herself. As soon as he was sure she was settled, he opened his dark, scanning eyes and stared.
He wasn't looking at anything in particular. If he looked out then he could have seen a long, white sheet fading into silver and then blue at the lake. He could have looked almost anywhere around him and stared at the tan and red and brown rock of the sandstone den, but he wasn't truly looking at anything. Staring off into space, his intense violet eyes simply stared without looking and gazed without seeing.
No, he wasn't watching he was thinking.
Why were Mom and Dad and Adante and Arulia so happy and him so solemn and weary? What was the difference? He glanced down at his growing claws, starting to emerge from his paws and idly started sharpening one on a ledge in his niche. What was the difference between them and him? Why did he want his little niche? Why did he want to be alone?
His eyes hardened and he felt the fur on the nape of his neck raise as he somehow became aware that he didn't care. He liked being different - well, he almost liked it - nothing really made him happy, but he liked the dark, the cold, a struggle, a challenge, he was meant to be this way.
He froze, then quickly lay his head down to continue his act of sleeping and slit his eye, just enough to vaguely make out shapes and kept his ears alert enough to discern voices. Somehow, he got the feeling that things were going to change today, and would change for the better if no one thought he was watching.

Skia: Skia bristled at the touch of his fur, but begrudgingly leaned some of her weight on the vibrant male. "Thanks," she responded gruffly. As he answered her question casually, she limped forward, allowing him to take the lead for a couple paces. He confirmed her suspicions and that was all she needed to hear. Skia disguised her preparation for the attack in a particularly bad stumble. She widened her stance and lowered her head to supposedly regain her balance. For a couple milliseconds Skia froze, as if dealing silently with increased pain, meanwhile the voice reminded her, "Surprise is a deadly advantage. Don't loose that advantage until the last second."
The time was now! Suddenly Skia catapulted towards the male with a vicious snarl. Her teeth aimed straight at his scruff. As soon as her fangs gripped his flesh, he would slam him against the ground. Her power mark glowed with her adrenaline as she focused on sharpening the stones by her feet and beneath where the male would land for maximum pain. Skia was immediately enjoying herself. This is what she learned to live for. She thrived in her chosen path of chaos.
