Noelle slowly opened her ice blue eyes and scanned the grassland before excessively sniffing the air. No one else seemed to be here. There weren't many caves around the creek, so she just slept in the tall grasses. She finally mustered the strength to get up, and hurled herself upwards with a grunt. The female lazily let out a long yawn, then shook her ginger pelt to rid herself of the debris that she was sleeping on. She raised her head, pointing her muzzle to the shining sun. What a a lovely morning it is, she thought. The breeze carried very few scents. All she could smell was the water running through the creek, and all she could hear was the chirping of the birds in the distance.
Noelle began to pad down a slope until she was met with a steeper hill. She instantly broke into a sprint down the mound, running to the Amoux Creek. The distant sounds of water rushing through the creek was music to her ears. The early morning sunlight dappled onto Noelle, highlighting her red and white pelt. The weather was warm, and several birds were singing in the looming trees. As she sniffed the air again, the fresh scent of damp earth and salmon filled her nostrils. It was a beautiful morning, and the greenery was laced with beads of dew.
Noelle was new to the area and didn't know anyone else yet. Perhaps some other wolves will come along, she thought. She was very shy, but she was eager to meet some new friends. She began to walk towards the creek, lowering her form and using her salmon-colored tongue as a spoon to drink the refreshing water.
