Nico:
Nico pawed the mud, and tried to make his way up. His paws kept slipping and sliding ad he became frantic in his efforts. He started biting wildly and no matter what he did he kept sliding. He couldn't see what he was doing, a blind wolf had no place in here. He yelped as he lost his footing all together and bit at the nearest thing thing, but all he got was air. His back landed on the mud and thumped his head on the ground. His head made a sicking thump, and he yelped. He got to his paws, and growled in sheer frustration and anger at being trapped.
Nico sat down and admitted defeat. He was trapped, no way could he get out. He had never let his blindness stopped him, but he had to now. Then he heard the clicking of pup teeth. He looked up, ears perked and listening. He woofed, listing for a response. Then he flicked his tail and cocked his head. 'Can you help me?' he asked using body language. It was the only way he could think of communicating with the pup who he suspected of being deaf. She would have talked by now, he had encountered a deaf pup before. It had died soon after, but he had tried to talk to it and had had no idea what he was doing.
Nico began a climb again. He growled, forcing his legs to move and grabbing at anything he could get his jaws on that was not furry. He felt compelled to ask for help, he wanted to get out and no way could he on his own. "Can you help me? I can't figure out where any solid spots are." His voice contained the bitterness of how he wanted to not accept help. He wished he could still see. Then he would not be in this mess. He then turned his attention to the pup. He bowed his head, and tucked his tail. For anyone but her it seemed, this would be something he would never do. He wanted her to trust him though. Then Nico cocked his head again, asking, 'What is your name? Do you have a name?' Then he came up with a idea.
He was putting it together in his head. A way for deaf wolves to understand one another, and to understand wolves who could hear. He wanted to teach it to her, as soon as they got out of here. Maybe he was not the best though. Blind wolves would not be able to tell what they where saying... Nico shook his head. Far fetched ideas never got anywhere.
