Sorry I took so long to get this up!

Nia

Nia's sleeping form filled and blended into the equally dark shade of a tree, rising and falling slowly with every gentle breath.  She had been traveling for what felt to her like forever.  Rather than pausing upon reaching the border of the Valley, she had penetrated it so as to explore further and submerge herself in the surroundings of her new home.  This was really her first real break since arriving, and, clearly, she was taking full advantage of it.

At this moment, she had no worries, no thoughts on her mind at all.  Just...nothingness.  It would take a lot to rouse her, as the soft white noise of the running creek had been enough to block out all the tiny distractions and lull her into a deep, dreamless slumber.

Of course, she was not fully aware of the menagerie of gatherings that happened here at the creek.  She was just innocently following the flow of the water.  Friendship, conflict....In her idle state, she was vulnerable to every kind of encounter.

It felt like he had been on the move for hours! Well, it probably has only been one hour, if you want to be technical. It would have only been forty-five minutes, but he thought he had deserved a break after such exercise. It didn’t help that everything in the forest looked the same, everything! That tree looks exactly like that one tree he had passed when he first started his trek. Was he going in a circle? Coming to an abrupt halt (with a secret cheer) the male sniffed at the air before shoving his nose to the ground, after a couple minutes of smelling the ground like he was some kind of special tracker; Crow concluded three things, one he hates trees, two he hadn’t been through here, and three there was water nearby. Water typically meant a clearing and a clearing meant he could get a well-deserved nap, finally.

With a little more vigor, Crow walked in the direction he believes the water could be in. It was a big disappointment and embarrassment that he got lost a couple more times (adding another thirty minutes to his hike) before he reached a small clearing with a shallow creek. He huffed out a sigh of relief at the sight. With sluggish movements, the black pelted wolf walked over to the clear water and lowering his head to take a couple laps of water. When satisfied, he scanned the area with curious if not slightly cautious blue eyes. If he hadn’t been as observant as he was he probably would have missed the other wolf, but he was so he didn’t. Crow felt his body tense up involuntarily with this new information. He wasn’t a very social creature out of habit and he wasn’t going to start today. Yet, he wanted to be sure this new body wasn’t a threat.

So, he knocked a rock into the creek with a rattle and splash to hopefully get the other wolf's attention if he hadn’t already.

Nia

A disturbance in the water caused enough of a break in her precious white noise for Nia to stir.  A grey ear flicked in acknowledgment; cobalt eyes fluttered open, and the she-wolf lifted her head with a lazy, toothy yawn.  Pushing herself up to sit, she shook off the fog of sleep and skimmed her surroundings.  A product of nature, the noise that roused her...or did she have company?

So far, she had been pleasantly surprised by the new faces she encountered.  She was not opposed to a little excitement.

And excitement she was provided.  Nia took in the sight of the stranger, whom she eventually spotted near the creek:  tall, lean but not ghostly, with a deep chest and burly limbs.  She made the figure out to be male, dark with bright eyes; for a moment, she wondered if Renegade had found her again.  That would have been a coincidence.  However, upon closer inspection, it was clear that this was someone else, someone new, for she had yet to meet someone with the pale markings that sparsely peppered this creature's front.

He looked skittish, as if he had intended to slip by unnoticed but failed.  Nia maintained a nonthreatening posture, simply tilting her head in a silent conveyance of interest, particularly curiosity.  "Hi, there," she said, her voice still a tad scratchy with sleep.  "You all right?  You look a little lost."
