Fenrir’s large form moved over the ground like a silent mountain cat, incredibly graceful for his size. He growled lowly at something his sister had said, half not listening. He was oddly aware of the water around him, in the air, and the ground. Their travel down the mountain was bleak and Sigyn had been smugly silent, casting him looks every now and then that got on his nerve.

“Your pride will get you every time…” she was going on every now and then, laughing when she would remember the fury of the goddess when Fenrir tried to reason with her. “Reason with chaos?” Sigyn had laughed. As she learned how to toss snow to and fro, especially using Fenrir as a target, she found enjoyment in trying to get a reaction from him. It was after this comment days ago that he had stopped listening to Sigyn’s sharp words, making sure he kept cool and collected.

A couple times he took her down, just to remind her why she needed him. Strength.

Sigyn looked up at her brooding brother, feeling irritated at his apathy. After he had ignored her for multiple days, she stopped antics with words. She trotted on a couple of paces before Fenrir, focusing on small objects that she would find and focus on them and watch them totter awkwardly up and then fall when Fenrir would pass her and make her lose concentration. Finally after the fifth obvious attempt at thwarting her endeavors she snapped, throwing herself at his neck and pulling hard.

Her brother reacted calmly, as the rash movement and grab at his fluffy coat hardly caused him to sidestep. He fell on her, pinning her- but she slipped out from under him, familiar with his war tactics. She was at him again, and again- mostly to be annoying rather than give damage. All the while it seemed that clouds were gathering, even though it had just cleared a couple of hours ago…

They needed to find something to do, someone to beat all their pent up emotions on. Woe to the wolf that crosses the duo’s path now.

It was cold. Everything was cold. The snow was too deep to move very quickly. But it wasn't like she could move very fast even in the best of weather. When she did gain speed, her movements were clumsy and desynchronized. The small, tan shewolf turned her head to look at her sister. "Done resting?" She asked quietly. It was eerie how easily voices carried in the still, snow blanketed, mountain forests. Because of the deep snow, the two had tired easily, tan fur bunched with clumps and clots of ice. Aybell scrunched her nose and clenched her paws, trying to get her blood flowing. All of the sudden she heard something. It was a faraway noise, but it was unmistakably wolf. "Kaine!" She squeaked in fear. The sounds were getting closer, what if they were seen?! Aybell jumped to her paws; in doing so pulling Kaine up with her. "ack..." She winced at the pulling in her side. Looking over at her sister, she met her tangerine eyes. They were best friends, inseparable. But that was for a very painful, obvious reason. The reason they ran. The reason they cried. The reason they fought, tripped, and howled. The reason why they were looked down upon, bullied. It was because they were literally inseparable. Joined at the side, sharing a leg. Sharing a life. Sharing a body. While it was hard, Aybell wouldn't trade it for the world. It made her sad though, because Kaine would trade it for anything. Aybell's deep turquoise ey s widened as she saw the source of the teasing snarls and cynical laughs. Two formidable wolves came over a small rise. They were both large I stature, but their coats were differing in color and pattern. They were normal. One was a minty green with jet black, while the other was scarlet and ivory. They were both handsomely hued, yet their expressions were far from friendly.

Kaine:

Miserable as usual, Kaine tug a the nearest clump of snow in their tan fur. She allowed the chunk to melt into freezing water which she swallowed with a gulp. She repeated the action to another clump. Licking her wet lips after that one dissolved into liquid, she grip yet another snow cluster. Then Aybell’s voice sounded Kaine’s left ear. Between clenched teeth, Kaine answered in a spiteful tone, ”No, I’d rather we just stay here until we become an ice statue.” Continuing her work on the snow clumps, suddenly Aybell squeaked Kaine’s name and tugged her to a painful stand.

Jerked from her chilled, tiny water sources, Kaine complained loudly, ”What in blazes do you think you’re doing? You can’t just stand up without any warning whatsoever! I was resting! I hate when you think you’re the only wolf who inhabits this body and do unpredictable thing such as standing up when we were in the middle of an agreed resting moment! Well, I live here, too!” Kaine glared at her sister and was about to try to force their behind into a sitting position to prove her point when she noticed that Aybell’s apricot eyes were fixed on something in the distance. Kaine followed her gaze to the distinct forms of two wolves traveling towards the conjoined wolves. Their pelts contrasted easily against the white snow as they moved. One was of enormous size. A fight seemed to break out between the couple making it obvious that these were no kind-hearted wolves. Instead of feeling fear as most sane wolves would in the face of danger, Kaine only felt a numbness. Perhaps these wolves would end her rubbish life, but then that would mean Aybell’s death as well. That’d be Kaine's only regret in death. Otherwise, she'd welcome the relief.

She laughed until she got pawed in the side of her head – she yelped out of surprise and irritation. It wasn’t often that she got cuffed; she had gotten fast at dodging, having traveled and practiced often with Fenrir, if ‘practice’ was what you called it. As she recovered, a sound caught her attention, distracting her from yet another cuff, this time on her shoulder, Fenrir’s immense weight shoving her to the ground. She made terrible growling noises that varied between a snarl, yelp, and bark, while she bared her teeth fiercely. “We have company.” She hissed before continuing to snarl as she cautiously stood up. Yeah, yeah, Fenrir could take her down, she was used to it, and it was why she kept him around.

Her pale green eyes watched the triumph in his eyes turn to curiosity, turning his nose up and sniffing at the air. His tongue lolled from the exercise and nodding, encouraging his sister to approach first. She smiled, wondering what opportunity they would have to practice their abilities, to start to become something of reckoning for the valley. The two were silent; Sigyn slunk on ahead with Fenrir following at a short distance and quickly came upon the ghastly sight of the two femmes. She tried focusing on the loose crumble of rocks, willing them to roll as she passed them. She felt like it made her look larger, or distract from her unfrightening size, to have the ground move with her.

The red wolfess straightened herself when she came into view the rocks falling still as her concentration wavered. Her mind was still trying to swallow what she was seeing. In the corner of her eye she saw her green and black brother looming and circling around a few paces away.

She was silent, her face calm, as she examined the two, one seemed frozen while the other frightened. It seemed too easy – when her examinations of their markings froze and focused on the space between the two. “Now, now…” She said in a hushed curiosity, a small amused smile growing on her maw that seeped into her voice. She walked a little closer, uncomfortably close for strangers then backed up with a broader smiled. “That is something.” She laughed, and called to her brother now, who had positioned his self on the other side of the pair.

“No need worry about them getting away so easily brother.” She said in a tone, as if to pacify a beast. “Looks like we’ve found ourselves a mutant.” Sigyn paused, a malignant glint in her gaze and smile. “Or tell me I’m wrong.” She added, almost innocently to the pair… or was it just one wolf? Her mood swung drastically fro being irritated from brawling with her brother to intensely excited about this new… thing, new toy.

Fenrir seemed a little confused at first, not quite believing his own eyes- as he was at an angle that did not let him appreciate the pair of wolves’ dilemma. He glanced over at his sister, but then at the wolves, wondering if they were too frightened to banter… which took half the fun out of terrorizing lone wolves.

Aybell stiffened as the wolves came closer, deep seagreen eyes widening. Rocks emerged from the snow, dirtying the whiteness. They rolled with the red shewolf, who came to a stop mere inches from her. The young wolf leaned away from her sneer, eyes refusing to shut. That was when she realized that the male was behind them. Aybell's stringy muscles shivered and shook in fear. They couldn't die today! They still had to find their way to a safe place and...if Kaine so desperately wanted it...a way to become separated. Taking courage at the notion, Aybell spoke, voice wavering immensely. "Y-you could s-s-say that is-s w-wh-what we ar-re....but we are b-both wolves!" She hoped her orcs would motivate Kaine so that they could run. While running was hard, running was even more difficult if not entirely impossible in the snow. But that wouldn't stop Aybell.

Aybell looked away from the red shewolf's antagonistic stare, whole mutated body shaking with fear. Willing her sister to feel her strength she whispered with her mind. Kaine, we can do this. Kaine, stand up for ourselves..
