They say that the pain of the past fades, but the scars remain.
That silver and brown puff, the one in the center. Yes, the tiny one. The bigger ones are his brothers and sister. But refocus on the small one. That, is the center of the story. He is Justice.
We start as this little one is opening his eyes for the first time.
Justice cracked a eye open, nervous and slightly frightened. The world was so bright, so shiny... He opened both eyes next, his two-colored eyes. He tried looking around, and got face full of brown and silver fur. He pulled his face away from whoever was next to him and crawled forwards. His mother. He looked up at his mother's soft green eyes. She gasped in delight and nuzzled his tiny face. He had been the third to open his eyes, and he could see perfectly! She smiled t the three pups. They all smiled back happily and two began to nurse. Justice did not. He began trying to get to his paws. She admired her smallest son, who truly was strong. Soon, the largest pup and the first to open his eyes, followed. Justice looked at his larger brother and smiled. They where a pair of explorers ready for anything!
]Six Months Later....
Justice exploded out of the den, silver and brown fur a blur as he raced out of the safety of the clearing and into the woods. Cal was close behind and soon the two where deep in the Forest. Justice slid to a stop by the stream and Cal stopped beside him. Both where handsome young males, Jutice being smaller but quick with a coat that was pleasant on the eyes. Cal was large, and buff. His coat was also easy on the eyes, which their mother said they had inherited from their father, a silver wolf with light flecks. Justice looked up at his brother. "Past this stream, we do not know."
"You ready?"
"Three two one go!" Justice said as he ran across the stream. Cal followed soon after and the two trotted into a meadow beyond. They explored, laughed, play fought, and even hunted a few fish. Cal caught one under paw. As the two trotted back with the fish, they herd a scream. Cal dropped the fish and ran fat out, with Justice right by his side. WHen the two got back, they saw Hell itself. Blood everywhere. Justice and Cal somehow made it back to the den, where their siblings all cowered. Mother was sobbing. Justice and Cal, both not even 50lbs, hid behind her. Then the attackers found them. Justice braced for the blow that would end him, when Mother shouted, "Wait! There father was the your Alpha's son!" Tht stopped them dead. A light silver wolf came forward, with a white face and legs. He had blue eyes like Cal, half like Justice. "Who is their father?" He asked harshly.
"Nico." Mother said, and he looked back at the other wolves. They all nodded, and the silver-white wolf said,
"As these pups are of Alpha blood, we will spare them. On the condition one comes back with us." Mother looked mortified. The silver-white wolf whispered in his ear and she calmed down. He looked at Cal, and, with tears in his ble eyes, he nuzzled his smaller brother goodbye and left. Justice sobbed into his mother's side.
One Year Later....
Justice padded across the stream, heading down the mountain he had been raised on. He looked back, and soon he was running at full speed down the mountain and stopped on a ledge. He looked out on the valley and howled. He was ready to leave. He raced down, and into the green valley.
