(( Fierfly @shiver)) Skia:The world seemed especially bright today. Maybe it was just Skia's excitement as she traveled to claim her position as alphess. The red female's pace was nearly a skip as she approached the border. Pausing at the edge of the territory, she checked to make sure that Allergo was beside her. Then she raised her head and let out a triumphant, calling howl. Her brown eyes scanned for any sign of the approaching alpha, her alpha. She hadn't thought much of him at first, but then he proved his strength and darkness. He had recognized hers, in turn, and offered her a place in his pack, and not just any place, the alphaship. Skia couldn't think of any situation more perfect. Just imagine; her and the most ruthless killer in the valley ruling side by side. Nothing would be able to stop them. If they were smart, evil wolves would flock to their pack by the dozens, for now being apart of it might be a death sentence. Those Good and Neutral wolves would be shaking in their fur as Midnight Silence rose to power. This could be the start of a new era of evil!

Allegro:
Mistress Snake had been keeping him up at a strong, unrelenting pace since she'd attacked the small den on the lake shore. Now she finally halted and he took a quick breather, standing quietly just behind her and slightly off to the side as she threw back her head and howled. His black-capped ears perked and drank in the sound - a greeting, a call. They must have been at a pack border of some kind. He stood tall and alert, eyes searching, but dark and serious and challenging. Rebellious. Independent. He hated Snake. He hated her for taking him and he hated the way she tried to rule over him. He was willing to fight her - he didn't necessarily want to, somehow he'd gotten used to her lording habits and superior demeanor, but if anything about this meeting she'd called went in a direction he didn't like, he was prepared to fight for it.

Fjord was frustrated. Things weren't working out the way he had planned....first off, his wolves seemed to be disappearing...secondly, Marrow hadn't brought back the botanist Amora. Had she been stronger than expected? Or had the hewolf fallen under her spell? Because of so many missing wolves, he had been unable to move his pack as planned. Instead he had opted to wait until Skia returned. For then, together, they would inspire wolves to join their fleet. The red shewolf was formidable and he couldn't bring himself to believe that any good wolf brought her down. She was just...taking her time. Fjord tossed his great white head in annoyance. Annoyance that swiftly dissipated as his ears picked up a self only heard sound. Round bear-like ears perking upwards, the male straightened. A howl! Not just any howl but her howl.
The great white male took to his regal red swirled legs and began to run. He was truly excited, his Alphess to be had arrived. Did he love her? No. Respected, yes. A small voice in his head piled up that perhaps, with time, he could learn to love her and she, him. The Alpha of midnight silence created a small rise of his barren wasteland and gazed down through the scraggly rotting trees to see her. She was as red as ever! But there....next to her...a smidgeon of grey and raspberry...a cub. Fjord descended to her level at a gentle, purposeful pace. His expression cold, his eyes bright. "Skia."

Skia:
Cruel chocolate eyes scanned the surrounding barrens for the white alpha. He appeared over a nearby hill. His majestic figure strolled down to the awaiting she-wolf and pup. Skia couldn’t help smile as he approached. He glanced at the pup at her feet. She would explain the scrap’s presence shortly. In the meantime, she bowed her head in response to his arrival and his formal greeting. She dropped the pieces that she carried and spoke, ”My alpha, Fjord.” Skia met his blazing red gaze as she returned her head to his level. If they weren’t yet, they soon would be equals.
”I have done as you asked and taken the life of a Good wolf. I also killed his mate and injured one of his pups. I have taken this one,” Skia pushed Allegro towards Fjord, ”as sufficient proof of his parents’ demise. No Good wolf would allow an Evil wolf to take their pup. The injured one I left to spread the word of Midnight Silence’s strength and mercilessness. These,” Skia gestured to the bloodied tooth and ear, ”are pieces of the dead wolf. He and his mate were easy prey. Have my actions pleased you, Fjord?” Skia smirked eager to claim her place as alphess of Midnight Silence.

Allegro:
An impressive large, white male crested a rise at Skia's call and approached. He was huge! Lean, rugged, tall and with a dominance and dark determination in the way he carried himself and moved that lent him power. Impressive, strong, evil, powerful. Allegro was impressed, but not afraid. If anything he was just now overcoming how dubious he'd been of this entire ridiculous trek.
Skia bowed...whoa back up! She bowed? Snake never bowed! If anything on this trip she'd nearly insisted that he bow to her! This guy must have been awfully important for Skia to bow to him. And he quickly learned that this male was very important. "My alpha, Fjord.". This was Fjord the murderer, the one that Mom had feared and her sister had hated. He'd heard of this Fjord, what he actually knew was little more than what anybody else knew: he was the most ruthless killer in the Valley and wolves trembled before him, but somehow his case was different - his mother's family had a personal grudge against Fjord for striking at their family den like Skia had struck at his, but he did not feel resentment - not completely. There was a little, but it was more for the sake of being ornery than for the sake of being vengeful for his family. He wasn't going to make things easy on Snake, especially not now.
As she pushed him forward and began reporting he had one thought. One very mean, and quite possibly very true thought. "Suck up, suck up, suck up." he turned it into a little chant in his mind, mocking Skia's speech to the great killer and stood firmly, glaring up at the male, brows lowered, eyes dark and teeth clenched. Oh no, this wasn't going to be easy, not by a long shot.

Fjord listened to Skias flaunting lists of accomplishments. She was obviously eager for his approval, and so he nodded. His red eyes glistening icily, with a crimson gleam. So she had killed not one, but a whole family of good wolves. Ha, good. He examined the souvenirs she had excavated from her enemy. A bright yellow ear, bloodied immensely, and a tooth, likely removed roughly from the jaw of her victim. A small smile threatened to appear as the corner of his lip twitched upwards. He then turned to her last piece of evidence. This exhibit was much more interesting to him. A pup, he wasn't too large, a grey ticked male with raspberry markings flowing down his sides like red molasses. He had a defiant hardness in his gaze that intrigued the alpha. However he seemed a little too ignorant and indolent for his taste. "Well done Skia...well done...." he continued to inspect his little prize. "What are you called?" He leaned in closer his power mark still dark, ever present in his eye. Fjords voice was softer now. He could practically smell the potential on this pups fur. And do, as to not to burn his bridges, he was gentle, although commanding.

Skia:
Skia practically beamed as Fjord praised her efforts. Not only had she pleased the mighty Fjord, she would soon be alphess of this pack. Then things would change. Yes, things would change indeed. Wolves in the valley trembled at the mention of Fjord. Just wait until word of Skia spread. Midnight Silence would also rise. It would rise to be the greatest in the valley! They would conquer whatever packs might get in their way!
As Fjord's gaze shifted from Skia to her evidence, her chocolate eyes followed his to rest on Allergo. Fjord's commanding voice was almost gentle. Not exactly how Skia handled pups, but she and Fjord had a different evil style. While Skia was loud and furious, Fjord was quiet, ready to strike and roar with a vengeance when it mattered most. Skia glared at the pup, willing him to be respectful towards the alpha. She tried to calm the insolence in his defiant eyes for Fjord with stares filled with a loathing warning. 'Don't you dare disrespect Alpha Fjord!' she commanded silently.

Allegro:
Fjord ("Let me fall down and worship you too," were his sarcastic thoughts on Skia's speech to the great killer before them) nodded quietly and approvingly. Oh, so not only was Snake a suck-up, but Fjord liked being sucked up to. He adored being sucked up to, he was a pawn. A weak, pitiful pawn.
A weak pitiful pawn who murdered your mother's family and whose mistress murdered yours. a little voice in his head reminded him.
"You shut up," he mentally grumbled back to the traitorous little voice in his head and then gave the counter some thought. He had killed his family, he had to be smart to do that right? Wolves weren't like some stupid woodland creatures, they were graced with some semblance of intelligence right? And some kind of fight or quick-witted rescue probably had been possible in that initial attack, but the killer had succeeded anyway. Right? Some grudging degree of respect or at least passive tolerance for the male finally was given place in the pup's mind. Maybe this alpha wasn't stupid, maybe he simply liked being on top and other remembering that he was on top. ...Not so different from how he'd liked to think Adante was stupid and scatter-brained and Aurelia was weak and that he was going to be the better hunter when he grew up. This was a wolf that simply liked to be in the front, and he wanted everyone else to know it too. He could live with that.
As the alpha asked his name Skia turned to him with a half-threatening half...desperate? No, this was still Snake, Snake was never desperate. Anyway, she was willing him not to be ornery. "I will if I want to," he rebelled again in his mind, but he was starting to be able to respect Fjord, so he'd behave. "My name is Allegro, Killer." he hadn't realized until now that in Mom's stories Fjord had always been "Killer" or "Murderer" just as Skia in his mind was always "Snake", but now it had come out and he actually liked it. His tone was customarily (customary for him anyway) dark and flat, not quite tense but definitely not easy. Not disrespectful, but not subservient at all, it was almost...challenging.

The hulking white male smirked as the squirt spoke. Allegro....it would do he supposed. Killer? That was new...so even pups knew of him! Wonderful! A full on grin crept onto his strong features, glistening white teeth, practically mirroring his ice. However, his image and reputation would be nothing if he had no pack to back him up. As cunning and savage as he was, even he couldn't take on twelve wolves alone. And his pack...they could do with some refreshening and some purging. Edge would stay, though he could be demoted to remind him of his place. Annelise...she was delightfully nasty, although her sass was grating on his nerves. Perhaps she could use a scar or two. Irene, she would have to go. That shewolf never even graced his presence. Levi, he would wait and see, his sister was quite interesting, but he needed loyal followers. Tanali was excellent, but even she needed some practice to hone her skills. In short, Midnight Silence needed practice, rites, and freshblood. And there was one of the three glaring up at him. With work Allegro could make a decent Midnight Silence wolf, regardless of his heritage. Although he would make sure Skia didn't let him forget it. He would make sure she pushed him to his limits, teasing and prodding him mercilessly until he became the kind of wolf that would benefit the pack. "Well, Allegro. It's good to see some fresh meat. Skia," He breathed, "I trust you can bring him up to be a proper Midnight Silence Wolf." The red swirled male turned away and began to pad confidently back to camp. "Welcome home Alphess Skia."RykettFierfly

Skia:
Things had gone well. Allegro hadn't overreacted in Fjord's presence and Fjord had showed satisfaction at Skia's actions and the pup. Her smile was nearly as wide Fjord's as the alpha spoke. As he addressed her, Skia straightened to her full height. "Of course, Fjord," the she-wolf purred, "I'll wring what weakness he has out of him." Skia planned to send Allegro through a vigorous training that would beat what little good his parents might've taught him.
As Fjord moved away, Skia pushed the pup at her feet into movement with a rough paw while she started to follow. The large red female fell into step beside her alpha. As he stated a welcome, Skia felt a shiver of excitement go through her as he spoke her new title. Alphess! It was hers! All hers! She was now a queen! Skia glanced over at Fjord an eager, evil smile on her lips, "Thank you, my king." Home... it was a rather foreign concept to Skia. She couldn't remember being anything other than a roaming loner, albeit an evil loner. Yet having a home felt right especially if it was a home shared with one so strong as Fjord.

Allegro:
The pup clenched his teeth as the snow-white male's own maw took on a cunning, deadly grin. Why was he smiling? It wasn't funny...was it? No, he wasn't laughing and neither was Snake. It wasn't funny - it pleased him. He glowered up at him harder, neck fur bristling ever so slightly. So Killer was happy with the defiant little squirt his mistress had brought him huh? On the one paw it was revolting: Snake had teased him, bullied him, lorded over him, he hated Snake - she was his enemy, yet his enemy now had a friend in the Alpha Fjord, so Fjord too was his enemy. Yet you had to respect a wolf who knew how to run things, keep chaos in it's proper run, orchestrate the movements of those beneath him to keep a pack running. How could he respect his enemy? Oh Blah, he knew better than Snake did. Killer knew he had potential in him, Snake was still foolish enough to call him a weakling, he could handle pleasing Fjord now and then - maybe it wouldn't be so bad. As long as he could remind them he was still as alive and breathing as the rest of them...
Fjord turned to head further into the packlands, after a quick (and rather rude) push from Skia, Allegro kicked his legs into motion again as well, falling into his usual place just behind and to the right of the end of Skia's full waving tail. Skia strutted up to the Alpha's right shoulder as he welcomed her home and then fell into even step beside him, head high, the same dangerous glint of triumph in her eyes as well. Oh yes, they were extraordinarily pleased with themselves. ("More glory to ya," another rebellious voice sneered) There was something really big going on, something was up. If only he could have known the magnitude of this moment - all the evil that was gathering into this core to expand.
But if he had known... would anything have been different?
...
No.
-Exit Allegro-
