Zyler frowned, feeling a pain in his chest. His ears drooped and he turned around to the tree where two other wolves had been. The small pup was cheering and the larger wolf was happy for her. Zyler slunk his yellow bodice toward them, his tail waved behind him in the air like a flag. He did not mean it necessarily as a threat, though tons of other wolves immediately felt threatened. Despite his size, he padded up to the pair with confidence. "Duality? That's a peculiar name!" Zyler boomed while lowering his tail. He noticed the split-color marked socks on his legs, tail, ears, and nose. How strong indeed! Zyler looked to the pup because he recalled she said she was Perjury's daughter. He wasn't sure of the importance but wanted to know. "Excuse me for interrupting, my name is Zyler."

The large wolf flicked his ears and tilted his head a little while he watched Derse leave Zyler to his lonesome, though it wasn't for very long as he noticed the wolf making way for him and Kaisra. His ears swiveled back to the pup once she started speaking again, and he'd allow his gaze to part ways with Zyler for the moment. What was he doing here? To be perfectly honest, he didn't even really know why he was there. He could've sound cliché and perhaps a bit righteous and state what he had told himself before, that he would do his best to protect Frigid Plague and not harm it. Though he'd settle for something more simple, "I don't really know... You went by my den and I figured you lost perhaps, figured I'd make sure you'd stay alive." He replied before letting his head lower once more to meet Zyler.
The closer Zyler got, the more Duality had to sniff. He looked more feminine that most wolves, and it threw Duality off for a moment with the dainty paws and slender figure. He'd shrug off the thought once he exclaimed both of their names. He figured the wolf wasn't any threat anyways, after all this was Frigid Plague's territory, and he was doubtful any patrols were letting anyone by sometime soon... Perhaps he should do that to assist Perjury and prove his loyalty? Though it was hard to tell what he'd do alone with his thoughts and voices.

Kai stared intently at Duality, willing him to speak. She wasn’t really sure what she was looking for, if anything at all, she just knew she wanted him to answer her question. Her mustard eyes sparkled impatiently at the interruption, glaring at Zyler. She wanted to say, “I know, I heard you babbling earlier,” but Duality spoke up. Gaze flicked back to the male, regarding him curiously. Her head tilted, remembering vaguely how she had tried to find someone. She felt a mixture of feelings, glad that he had followed her, but a little irritated that he thought she needed babysitting. However, her positive emotions usually outweighed the others, and so she let her tail whip back and forth ferociously again.
“Oh yeah!” She said, remembering again she had wanted to share her dream. “I had woken up, and no one was there. But I had this really cool dream I wanted to tell someone!” Her paws shifted with excitement, eyes glancing over at Zyler, happy to have two captive for her story. “There was this large flower clearing, and I found it! So the three White Wolves made me Queen of the grove!” She looked out at the bottom of the fallen tree, where pack wolves usually gathered for meetings. She imagined unnaturally large flowers sprouting around, other wolves coming in – and bowing to her. Kai made a crooning noise in her throat, happiness as she remembered.
“You just had to be there.” She said, matter-of-factly.
“You both are in my mother’s pack, right?” Kai added on, as if just then wondering if she could trust them. @falconsong CursedErin You can reply if you want, it's been a long while

Duality relaxed himself as Kaisra started herself back up again. Where did pups get so much energy..? He wondered, now thinking he was getting old and gritting his teeth at the thought. Of course the voices began to mock him a little as they probed at his own mind from the inside. He tried to look through them and focus more on the pup atop The Sleeping Giant, after all he had come here because of her. She started voicing her dream and giving it some life to him, explaining it in short a brief detail.
The voices in his head told him to laugh on the matter, while a few did so already. Of course, he didn't want to offend the pup, and certainly not Perjury's own! His coal black claws dug into the ground a little as he tried to figure out something to say, before she spoke up some more in a matter-of-fact tone to them and followed up with another quick question. He couldn't help but smile lightly at Kai, letting his muscles ease up once more and the claws finding themselves sheathed again.
"Well, it'd be rough to be this deep in the territory if I wasn't a member of Frigid Plague... Although I guess I did sneak my way in pretty deep before Perjury found me..." He started of smiling, before trailing into a bit of a frown. "Errr... Nevermind that.I suppose what matters now is that I am here for the pack." He added on, while voices continued to argue inside his skull. Once more, each was seemingly wanting something different, their words becoming jumbled messes inside his noggin.
Duality's face scrunched up some and his eyes shut tightly, the male's head recoiling into his shoulder while he barred his black teeth. "You won't last here! Why not be rid of the pup and get on with your own life?! A pack isn't you! It isn't us..." One booming and agitated voice rang out above the rest. Silence soon followed, at least for Duality's sake. His head felt like it was pounding and he was considering listening to the voices again! He claws sank into the dirt once more while he restrained himself, well aware of what he had promised Perjury as he steadily lifted his head back up.
His crazed eyes seemingly twitched a little as he opened them back up to look at Kai. The wolf's breathing seemed a little irregular now as well. "S-Sorry about that... Maybe I should go, for both of our sakes." He murmured, trying to keep himself under wraps.

A tawny nose pointed down at Duality, mustard eyes looking down the snout in a pointed fashion at the male below her. Her mirrored his relaxed position, and letting her haunches lower to the bark that had smoothed over time. She felt herself using her claws to get the best grip, and while it was not like smooth ice, it was far more slippery than the soil.
“Uh huh...” The words were annunciated separate, also matter-of-fact, though she was not sure she understood what he was saying, about sneaking in, but now he was part of the pack? All she cared about was that he was a pack member. Her gaze flashed in the sunlight streaming in through the trees, giving a long side-glance at the other male. She still wasn’t sure about him, especially being quiet.
Duality’s sudden change in stance distracted her. She immediately found herself mirroring him again, tensing up, but she was also backing up away from his pained expression. Pained or angry, she couldn’t tell, but she was looking at his barred teeth. A shudder ran through her, but it was not fear, she was actually curious, but her body told her to run, though she wasn’t sure why. There was a look in his eyes, and he was breathing rapidly, which in turn her body again mirrored his emotions, her chest raising and falling a few beats quicker.
Her back paw took another back step as he started to apologize. A tingle ran through the pad of her foot as it landed on air, her back claws suddenly digging and slipping off the bark. She yelped in surprised as her foot slid off, stomach slamming on the edge of the trunk and then followed her body backwards and away from Duality. He disappeared from view and she fell into the shadows of the ancient trunk. It was not a long fall, as she was not a fourth of a wolf, but more half sized in her young “teen” years. It still hurt, and the world swam in darkness for a few moments, yelping again in more surprise than pain as she hit the ground with a soft thud. The ground was soft too, the worst that would come of her fall would be bruises, maybe a sprained muscle.

Duality had already half turned to leave, to head back to his secluded den, far from the rest of the pack and on the outskirts of their home. It was then he heard the yelping pup as she tripped backwards from the large tree. His ears shot up and instinctively he jumped up onto the fallen tree, digging his own black claws in to get a grip. He reached out to try and grab Kaisra, to attempt and keep her from falling off what was no more than a log. For the first time, Duality seemed to have a bit of worry in his eyes. Was he scared the pup hurt herself? Was he scared that Perjury might think he did this? Even he wasn't entirely sure, but he wanted to make sure that Kai was alright.
Just as quick as he had made it up the side of the Fallen Giant, he leaped down beside the pup. "So... Vulnerable!" Cackled a voice as it tried to force Duality's claw. He shut his eyes for a split second, tightly. The wolf needed to learn to distinguish between friends and foes, pack mates and enemies. When there were enemies, he'd be sure to let the voices take control and be as brutal as they wanted. For now, he needed to help the pup and be sure that she was alright! "Kaisra! Are you alright?" He questioned, sorting himself out for the moment.
What was it with Perjury's pups that was causing the over-sized and crazed wolf to feel different? First it was Shantias, now it was Kaisra. Perhaps he was only just now learning to feel and listen to things other than what was in his head. "Do you need help?" He added on to his questions, trying his best to look over the pup. Duality was by no means an expert when it came to fixing wounds, but he'd at least try his best for his sake and Kai's.

She kept her eyes tight shut, hearing noise on the log, and felt him looming close. Adrenalin from the shock was still coursing through her, her ears catching every twig cracking and aware of Duality somewhere above her. His voice was as surprised as she was and slight panic? Despite her sore body, she felt pleased again for the worry and attention.
“Uhhm…” She said with a pathetic groan. Still with closed eyes she tested each limb, her neck by tucking it close to her chest. A sharp pain came when she tried to move the paw that had originally slipped. Her eyes opened, looking up at the large log, her breathing moving her chest up and down quickly. She blinked at the light, closing and then opening shifting her body to figure out what was going on with her leg. She then realized she could not move, and the pain increased when she tried to pull her body away from the log.
“I… I’m not sure.” She mumbled, still pathetic and soft. Anger started to swell up in her chest. Her body was so used to her cheery attitude, that once the cheer was gone, other emotions fled and anger swelled in its place. “I don’t know!” She said, more frustrated that she couldn’t move. Her voice was more harsh and desperate, but she was looking at her foot that had broken through the ancient bark and wedged between the log and ground.

"Do it now... Finish her! It'll be too ea- Silence!" One voice had started in his head before another interrupted it, silence the alarmed crowd to murmurs. "Let him act." It said, as if it was a judge silencing the entire room and bringing it to order. Duality couldn't help but feel a little panicked, though hearing the voices quiet down would certainly help him. The larger than average wolf kept himself over top of Kaisra, continuing to check her out before finally noticing her leg was stuck! His ears folded back against his head, before her angered words about not knowing if she was okay made him jump.
Once again, his breathing couldn't help but quicken at the tone in her voice, it seemed so much different than what she was before... A panicked voice, perhaps scared? It brought a painful memory to Duality's mind and his face seemed to go numb for a moment. He shook his head, trying to free himself of his thoughts and anymore voices! The split-colored wolf had had enough of them! It was high time he took charge of his own life, despite the interruptions.
So he would. The male pressed himself up against the log, tucking his head in towards his chest and pressing his shoulders and the back of his neck up against the log. "I'll get you out... If it's the last thing I do." He seemed a bit solemn on his words, as if Perjury was going to come around the corner and assume he had hurt her precious pup, only to end his life on the spot. The long and dark claws sunk into the soil beneath his pads once again as he used them for leverage. In one heavy heave, the large canine shoved himself against the bark, pushing against it with all of his might to try and get Kai's paw free from under it.

No matter how hard she looked at her foot, the best idea she had come up with was chewing her paw off. Red anger seemed to take control of her action and she started to thrash in panic. Her thin nails groped at the ground with increasing speed and anger. She used her other back paw to push against the gigantic to push her way out – but she wouldn’t budge. The heart in her chest felt like a herd of elk on an autumn morning, quick and erratic.
Her teeth went to bit at her Duality, but stopped his shoulder hit the tree with a thud that created a soft echoing sound inside the hollowed tree. The sound seemed to calm her, but it was his words that had done the trick. She didn’t stop thrashing, feeling a strain in her leg, a tingle traveled to her hip and to her shoulder. It took the breath out of her – but the last push had been enough. It had been at the same time that Duality had heaved his weight into the trunk of the tree and while it had not lifted off the ground, it had released enough pressure for Kaisra to push her way out.
While only in the matter of minutes, Kai felt like she had run all away around their territory multiple times. She lay there, stunned by her sudden freedom and from the pain that throbbed in her leg. Blinking her golden eyes a few times, she leaned up, but did not try to stand up, the dull throbbing telling her she should not. She found Duality’s frame and she smiled, genuine and pleased, the anger had melted away suddenly and gave room for her cheery encounter once more.
“Thank you Duality! I do think this makes you my hero!” She giggled on the end of this phrase, but she let out a sigh of relief and laid back down completely, her teen sized frame rising and falling, rising and falling. ooc// sorry I took so long! it's been crazy xD

((It's quite alright~ I understand, life happens! )) Duality grunted a little as he shoved heavily against the log, determined to get it off of Kaisra. All he hoped was that Perjury wouldn't come by, and think this was his doing. He kept his head turned in such a way that he could keep an eye on the pup, moving the log just enough to get her out of its pin. The large wolf panted heavily as he retreated from the log, nearly falling backwards in the process. It didn't take long for the voices in his head to start chattering again, giving Duality yet another headache. He groaned a little, before his ears stood on end as Kai spoke up to him.
Hero, she had called him. The word felt foreign to Duality, unusual and unfitting for him. He collected himself up, finally returning to a stagnant breathing pattern and seating himself back comfortably onto his own haunches. "Bahahahahahahah! Hero?! Tch. You're no hero, just lucky." A voice mocked him, egging him on and even influencing his own response back to the young pup. "I'm not a hero." He scoffed a little, "After all, I've got a feeling I made you fall off the log in the first place." The male's eyes seemed to get darker as he lowered his head.
The subordinate to Frigid Plague found his breathing getting heavy once again and his teeth barring up a little. Even his claws found their way digging into the dirt once again. "Watch yourself." He muttered, before raising himself back up to all four paws. Once his mood seemingly changed in an instant, Duality didn't look back at Kaisra at all. His eyes glared menacingly at the ground as he turned himself away from the pup, facing the log once again. In one powerful leap, he jumped to the top of The Fallen Giant. Just as he touched down, he took a short glance at Kai, before closing his eyes in disappointment, at himself. Before they knew it, Duality was off the other end of the log, landing with a thud on the grass.
He steadily started to shuffle his way along back to camp, hoping Kaisra could find her own way there. If not, she'd need to hurry to catch up with the over-sized wolf!
((Either exit Duality, or Kai can catch up to him/stop him. Whatever you wanna do ^^))

Her head tilted, audits cupping to listen to his response curiously. She blinked at him, his reaction started to remind her of others, the way they pushed her away. It felt normal, and she didn’t like it. Her eyes narrowed, the memory of falling off the log and how it had happened a blur, part of the past, and highly unimportant to Kaisra. Her mind gave up trying to remember and focused like an arrow on the duo-toned male.
She looked down her body at her back legs, feeling the one still throb terribly. Then she looked back at the male, who seemed to be in some sort of unseen pain. He muttered something under his breath, something too soft for her to hear.
“Wait!” It wasn’t loud, and while in her demanding tone, held an edge of pleading. He didn’t seem to hear, or didn’t care, but she chose to believe he had not heard her. She watched him leap up on the log, and continue to the other side, shooting her one last glance. The red feeling started to siege on her other emotions: disappointment, panic, confusion – and leaving nothing but rage. “I said wait!” This time it was loud.
Her body reacted to her emotions and moved to get up. Her front paws went first to prop herself up, then her good leg struggled to get the rest of her weight up. She didn’t have time to test her other leg – Duality was leaving. Her freckled face glanced over at the other wolf who seemed stoic, boring. Her eyes trailed to Duality’s retreating figure. Her mind was set and she pushed her frame on her good back leg, and pulled with her front paws. She had forgotten by the next push about her leg and had used both her back legs in full striding motion to push herself. She hit the ground in a muffled yip, the sound stolen from her by the fall. Duality was still walking away.
Ignoring the pain she pushed herself up, quicker this time, using three legs to propel herself in an ungracious manner. But her body, being used to four legs, attempted to use her injured leg and she fell in a ‘hmph’ to the ground that was littered with pine needles. Her anger swelled to blind her of all other emotions.
“Fine! Leave!” She called after him, standing again, but favoring her back leg. She surely could not leave. OoC// Depending on what you want to do, we can end this thread there (:

The first call to wait had rung in Duality's ears, had seized him up before he leaped onto the log to leave. It was the second one that really struck home to him, the rage filled voice. The noise reminded him of someone and he stopped dead in his tracks for a short moment, only to continue onwards. It seemed like he was leaving, for good, thinking the pup was all fine and dandy and that she wouldn't have any problems whatsoever. At least he thought that.
It wasn't until she told him that he could leave, that he finally took one more glance back at Kai. Duality stopped once again in his tracks. He originally had a sad look draped over his muzzle before he realized how she was carrying herself and it changed to a panicked look for just a mere moment. Her leg must've been injured, and it was all his fault! "Bahahahahah! Now what're you going to do, idiot? I say leave her t- Wait what're you doing?"A voice started a conversation with him, interrupted by Duality's actions as he pushed the thoughts away and turned back around to stumble back to Kai.
His head was lowered as he made his way slowly over towards her. All the while his breathing seemed heavy again, another pain, associated with another memory of those he used to call family. Of a place he used to call home! His heart sank, what was it about these pups that he had never seen before in his life that was causing him to genuinely feel for the first time! A mix of emotions entangled him as he desperately pried for an answer. No such luck. He didn't know if he liked these feelings, or hated them.
With each thudding paw step he finally enclosed on Kai, towering over her like he did nearly any other wolf. Though to her, he'd probably seem gigantic as opposed to larger. His eyes still watched the ground, just in front of their front paws. His jaws opened up slowly before shutting again quietly. It seemed he was tripping over his words for a moment.
Finally, he managed to speak, choking back his emotions and stifling them for the meanwhile. "You can't go anywhere with your leg like that... I'm sorry. Would you like me to take you back to Perjury..?" He finally managed to speak. He was worried about taking the pup directly to Perjury, but he wasn't a father, he didn't know what to do! Normally his pain tolerance was off the charts... Though the pain he felt now was on the inside and he couldn't dull it at all. He wanted to help, to cleanse himself of this! And who knew, perhaps Perjury would cleanse him of all feeling if she thought he had harmed her precious pup.

Her body flopped to the ground, tearing her gaze away from the male. She hit the ground with an angered paw, pine needles spraying her face. She did it again, and again, her body lightly sprinkled in tawny dried pine needles, damp from the last night’s rain. Kai felt a little better, but the anger had been so sudden and consuming that there was no sign of her cheery attitude coming back so soon. Eyes blazing with anger shot up at a sound and let out a little gasp of surprise, her hackles rising in physical reply to his sudden closeness. She had been so distracted by her own rage that she had not heard him approach, and literally towered over her. For a moment a prickle of dread crept into her… But it disappeared into her anger and she glared up at him, he was silent – not really looking at her.
When she realized that he did not meant to hurt her, and that he was back – that he had listened to her…. Oh. His words hit the air then, her thoughts that he was there to play or let her tag along were gone, and he had only come back because of her leg… Well, she could play that to her advantage, couldn’t she? She winced a little at the thought of going to mother, she knew her mother would call her careless in her deed.
“I can to!” She stood up, back a little away from him so her head didn’t bump his chest. She favored the leg and showed him how she could hop. She pushed with the one back leg and pulled with her two front. The back of her body bowed in carrying all the weight, and it soon it would grow tired of doing all the work. “Well, I can, just slowly. Maybe to the dens?” She offered, she wouldn’t mind an escort, just not to her mom…. Not that she did not want to see her mom, she just did not want to appear weak in front of her. She was growing up, and she wanted her mother to see that.

The large male blinked curiously at Kaisra as she let out a fit of rage. His face remained rather stoic as he watched the pup struggle with hopping about, saying she could do it, or at least be slow about it. Duality shook his head solemnly, though he figure the pup wouldn't end up taking his assistance any if he tried to offer it.
With a bit of a sigh he'd look back towards the direction of camp. Distance was lost to him and he had already forgotten how long it would take to get back normally. Eventually he lowered his head once again and looked back to Kai. "Fine. If you want to take a break from hopping along the rabbit trail, let me know." The wolf said. "After you though, princess. I'll keep behind you in case you start to fall." Duality added, leaning down and giving her a gentle nudge with his nose, forcing himself to reign back the strength he often used.
"Psssh... Why bother with helping this runt? Leave her to die for all we care, Perjury won't even know it was you!" Started up a voice in his head. Duality's eyes shut closed again and his teeth gritted. "Let's go, you'll want to rest up as soon as possible if you don't want your mother to see you like this." He said to the pup, shaking his head a bit to try and lose the thoughts. "Just a bit longer... I just need to stave them off a bit longer..." He thought to himself, watching Kai and waiting for her to start moving along. He was just hoping Perjury didn't come out of nowhere at the moment, or anyone to go and tell the alphess.

She let out a fit of giggles, hopping a little on her front two paws as if she were a rabbit. Then she puffed out her chest a little when he called her princess and she lifted her chin in the air haughtily. It looked a little funny as she hopped toward the dens, “This way!” She said in a tone of command, her lips tight as she pretended to keep a smile from her maw.
Her ears flopped a little at his last phrase, mentioning her mother. “Err, yeah.” She muttered awkwardly, making a little more effort in her hop toward the caves.
“Sooo, why did you join our pack? You don’t seem the pack type; you’re kind of strange actually. Has anyone told you that? That’s okay; there are lots of strange wolves in the pack, so maybe you fit in. Have you met any of my siblings yet, or anyone else in the pack? Did you get in trouble when you snuck in? I bet my mom was furious! But you didn’t make me fall of the log you know, you didn’t touch me – I can’t wait to tell mom all about today! Err, except for, er, you know, the leg.” She finished, her ears folding back and glancing distractedly up into the pine needles that silhouetted against the gray sky.
She didn’t bother glancing back at Duality, but tried to make her hop into a sort of skip as she went, carefree and excited about the turn of events with Duality. She felt smug that he had come back, but the feeling was buried under her other thoughts that flashed quickly in and out of her mind, like a dozen rabbits getting flushed from their hiding places.
