Azi:
After leaving the lovebirds behind, Azi had followed the Amoux Creek downstream. It annoyed her how dismissive Eclipse and Fierfly had been of Azi’s needs once they’d fallen into each other’s eyes. It confused the tall she-wolf why Eclipse had fallen in love with Fierfly instead of Azi. Azi was the far superior she-wolf. More beautiful, more graceful, more powerful. What did Fierfly have that she didn’t? Still, Eclipse had chosen Fierfly. Disgusted and disgraced with the ignorant couple, Azi had left them, seeking wolves that recognized her amazingness.
Since the Amoux Creek was often frequented by wolves, Azi had decided to roam along its edge, but no adoring wolves had yet appeared before her to worship the most gorgeous wolf in the valley. Azi noticed a smaller river whose rushing waters feed into the main flow of the larger creek. It flowed from the eastern depths of the forests. Deciding that she might find more worshipers within the forest, Azi switched her path to follow the smaller flow of water upstream. At the edge of the woods, the light colored she-wolf paused. Her lavender eyes searched for wolven forms sneaking through the shadows provided by the towering trees.

"Hello Gorgeous," Amadeus had spotted her from across the way, her features were haughty and her walk was high-strung. She was definitely a wolf who needed attention. Just the kind of shewolf he was looking for. the green male was handsome in his own way, the green color was an attribute that could only be taken two ways, hideous, or handsome. And luckily for him, most wolves took him to be the latter. Amadeus was a charmer at heart, he didn't strive to break hearts, but if it happened, then he wouldn't complain. He was a wolf of high standards, and thus he moved on when he found something better. And so when he laid eyes on this tan and lavender shewolf, he found his newest calling. "What is a doll like you doing here? Getting your perfect paws muddy on this river?" He played it safe, perhaps babying her a little too much. But if she was a strong independent shewolf, he could quickly change his tune.

Azi:
Her elegant head turned as a voice interrupted the burbling brook. Standing just opposite of the stream was a he-wolf. Azi’s eye alighted of him and examined him, scornfully judging whether he was worth her time. His physique was neither especially muscular or scrawny, but instead a near perfect mix of the two extremes. His pelt was rather monochromatic with shades and blends of green being the only color of note. Azi didn't find the green appealing, but his indigo eyes were striking while not contrasting unfavorable with the green. They watched her, almost hungrily, as he flirted.
Flirtatious comments could be one of two things. Either they were puffery words or they were genuine compliments of Azi amazingness. Azi assumed the latter. She deserved every compliment thrown at her. This wolf knew perfection when he saw it. ”It's a tragedy, isn't it?” Azi pouted, lifting a paw to glare at the river filth on it, ”No she-wolf like me should be forced to set foot in such places, but alas such is the price I pay in search for company that recognizes me for what I am.”

Amadeus smirked inwardly. So she was thehaughty shewolf he had took her for. She liked to be treated like a queen. She was indeed beautiful, but she was no goddess. Nevertheless he would play along. He would continue with his flattery despite not liking the way her eyes shamelessly examined him. Her entire posture and gait screamed of her self-worth and her 'nobility.' She was an extremely proud shewolf with no sense of humility. She knew she was beautiful, but she went far beyond knowing her own charms. She was a narcissistic one. Being a wolf not unlike her in attitude, this fact didn't bother him much. He was fine with pampering a polished pup as long as she was his. But if a wolf much more beautiful then her passed by, he wouldn't hesitate to tip his hat and canter on without her.
"Search no more," He dipped his head in a gracious bow, indigo eyes never leaving hers, his lip twitched up in a debonair smile. Why don't we get you to a clean pool and clean your pretty paws of this debris." Amadeus padded up beside her, nudging her softly with his shoulder, making as to lead her around the muddy bank and towards a shelf of rock further down the river. There she could dip her paws in the water and he could get to work 'appreciating' her.

Azi: Azi raised a canine eyebrow as he bowed, implying that’d he was the pinnacle of her search. Perhaps it was too early to tell, but so far, this male appeared to be the admirer Azi had wanted. Azi flashed him one of her dazzling smiles in response to his winsome grin. ”I’d like that to be true, Sir …” She trailed off implying that she wished to know his name. After a pause that could be filled with a proffered name, Azi gave her own name, ”Well, I am Azi.” Her new companion suggested cleaning her paws, something Azi would’ve gotten to eventually. She supposed it’d make a good test. Maybe she could get this male to groom the mud out of her paws for her. That’d prove whether he was the worshipping servant she’d been searching for. ”I never want to lay another toe in mud again,” she sighed dramatically and allowed the green male to guide her to the pool.

Amadeus resisted the urge to roll his eyes, which was easy, considering how much practice he had had with charming such females. "Amadeus," He filled in her hanging sentence with his name. Her eyes were only slightly suspicious, but mostly pleased. He must be playing his part well. "What a beautiful, exotic name," Either that or she was too arrogant to notice. Guiding her along the bank, he led her to the rocky outcropping, helping her gently to the earth. Already, the green male knew that Azi would be a lot of work. Pleasing this haughty shewolf would not be easy, but it was well within his capabilities.
The marbled green male nosed her fore-paw towards the water, prompting her to gracefully extend her paws into the clear water. It would be cold, but that's the way things were. Once her paws were successfully dipped he would put his own in beside hers, perhaps he would help to clear the grime away a little. "Tell me if you desire anything of me, a wolf as pristine as you should be treated with utmost responsibility and civility."

Azi: ”Yours is an exotic one as well,” Azi politely gave a compliment in return for the one he’d offered about hers. She decided she should throw him some bones once in awhile in return for his adequate treatment of her so far. At his prompting, one graceful tan paw dipped into the water. Azi shivered at the chill, wishing there was a such a thing hot water in Spring. The sun couldn’t reach a temperature that suitably heated water to Azi’s standards. After some hesitation, the other paw follow its sister into the water. Amadeus’s next words promised his service to her. ”Thank you,” Azi said with a smile. Amadeus was turning out to be exactly the servant she wished. After a pause of supposed consideration, Azi continued, ”Actually, I’ve always found it rather difficult to properly clean my paws without ducking down to use my teeth.” A complete and utter lie, but Azi would say what she needed to convince Amadeus to do her bidding. ”Surely, such a gentleman-like wolf would be more than willing to help me.”

An exotic name? Perhaps. The hewolf would've used the word 'classical' but he wasn't about to turn down a compliment. Especially when rebelling Azi would most likely lose all of the progress he had been making. However, the next request from this pampered prat was disgusting. Who knew where those paws have been?! Though it was safe to say she hadn't been looking for nasty places to trod upon. Nevertheless, Amadeus hated being treated like dirt. Especially when he wasn't! Amadeus was a handsome wolf who deserved to be treated as a respectful person. Even the wench Lokianna had respected him in some degree. The great Perjury had even allowed him into her pack! Trying to keep his face from revealing his distaste and growing hatred for this pretty shewolf, he nodded. He didn't trust his voice to be sincere. He dipped his head down the short distance, narrowing his eyes. Perhaps his narrrowed eyes would make it look like dutiful concentration, and not the disgust and dislike he felt at this moment. Perhaps this once he would purposefully break her heart. Though it didn't seem like she had a caring one. She was selfish and proud. For no reason, those fangs mimick a rabbits. He snickered inwardly as he carefully groomed her cream paws, dirt and grime washing away in the current, pebbles and burrs sticking in his fangs.

Azi:
In response to her not-that-hidden command, Amadeus lowered his head and began cleaning without a word. Azi wouldn’t call his movements as he cleaned eager. Focused was a better word for them. Azi smiled. She’d found her servant. Amadeus acknowledged her greatness and treated her the way all wolves were supposed to. Many ignored their instincts to praise and worship her like Fierfly and Eclipse for example. Finally, Azi had found a wolf that listened.
Now that Azi had made the decision to keep Amadeus, she supposed she should get to know her male a bit better. Seemingly, he’d nearly finished cleaning her paws when Azi spoke, ”So, Amadeus, do you have any special she-wolves in your life currently?” She just had to check. Some males just had their charm permanently attached to them and couldn’t resist flirting with beautiful she-wolves despite having one to go home to. Even if he did have one, though, Azi wouldn’t mind taking her place and/or staging an “accident” for her. Surely, Amadeus would be happy to dispose of a lesser female if he got Azi, instead.

Amadeus sat up with relief, having swished the grime out of his perfect teeth. He glared at the river for a split second, watching the mud get shuttled away by the strong current. The cream and lavender shewolf spoke, her voice a haughty drawl. She asked him if he had a special shewolf in his life. What move to make? Should he be honest and say yes? Was that even honest? Lokianna wasn't exactly in his life any longer. If he said there was a shewolf in his life would she desert him? Part of him wanted her to, another part hissed at the idea, repulsed. He had just cleaned this wolf's paws, it was far to late to back down now. "There was one," He huffed sourly. "But she's not in the picture anymore." The green male tossed his head, the trouble in his vibrant eyes leaving like dandelion seeds on a summer breeze. "Enough about her, I want to know about you." Amadeus scooted closer, layering his charm thickly. Maybe he would get some profitable pups from this encounter if he played his cards right.

Azi:
Amadeus did have someone, well had. Azi shouldn’t be surprised that the perfect servant male had already been involved with some other she-wolf. She could pose a threat. Amadeus said she was out of the picture, though. Azi wondered how far out of the picture. On the edge of returning to the picture, dead, or what? Amadeus didn’t seem to even be worried about the other female intervening, though. “I’d be willing to fill that blank space in your picture.” Azi said, her tone flirtatious.
Azi had her servant. He’d be hers for forever. Her superior beauty and grace would make sure of that. Any male that gained her favor would be foolish to throw it away. It was a rare thing to gain. Azi was sure many a male would be envious of Amadeus. She could throw Amadeus aside at any time if a more suitable male came along. That wasn’t likely to happen. So far, his devotion seemed unmatched. He was charming and handsome. Yes, handsome. Azi hadn’t been sure at first, but now she saw him for the tall, graceful, handsome male he was. Amadeus was her servant, yes, but Azi always wanted more. She could never be satisfied with a male such as Amadeus just being her servant. Azi fixed herself on a decision
Her servant drew closer, wanting to get to know Azi. The female smiled. Of course, he wanted to know more. But, Azi wanted to give him a different type of knowing. “Well, I want you to know everything about me. I’m the kind of girl that doesn’t hold back.” Azi moved nearer to her chosen male, her tone implying what she meant. She nuzzled him. ”Care to come even closer, my Amadeus?” They were already so close that their fur was brushing. It couldn’t be mistaken what Azi wanted next.

A switch must've flipped in Azi's brain. As soon as he finished his statement concerning Lokianna, she had this devilish look in her eyes. She claimed she could fit the spot left by his past lover. Amadeus raised a skeptical brow at this. suddenly she was catering to him? Was he finally getting what he wanted? At her next words he realized he was. Finally, he didn't know how much longer he could stand this doting and groveling. Amadeus wasn't one to worship, he was one to be worshiped. The green male grinned as she inched closer, never taking his gaze off of her eyes. Here we go. "Definitely," He whispered huskily.

-Time Skip-
Azi:
Azi had never really imagined herself actually having pups. Maybe it was just that Azi had never imagined finding the perfect male. Yet, here she lay in a den comfortably cared by Amadeus, tapping her paw, impatiently, as she waited for him to return with a meal. Was Amadeus really the perfect male? He was handsome and loyal-which were Azi’s two greatest requirements-but she wondered whether her decision to mate with him was swayed at all by the fact that her previous companions had been so dismissive of her. Amadeus had charmed and served her. Quickly won over, Azi may have rushed into having pups. Pups… very demanding creatures from what she’d heard. Azi wasn't sure if she was ready to do this whole motherhood thing.
But… perhaps, they'd be a boon, eventually. They did have her genes after all. Azi wasn't sure if any other wolves in the valley could say that. Her siblings were all dead and her parents hadn't been planning on having anymore litters after that tragedy that'd taken nearly all their children. Their deaths had truly disturbed her parents, but Azi hadn't been that phased. There was nothing anybody could've done. Flash floods were difficult to predict. Therefore as far as Azi knew, she was the only wolf in existence with her perfect mix of traits. Now these pups would have that same mix, but with some Amadeus mixed in. Azi hoped they looked more like her, of course.
A flash of pain suddenly shuddered through Azi. The she-wolf stiffened. What was that? Were the pups coming? Where was Amadeus? He should be here comforting her! ”Amadeus, darling! Amadeus! Ama-” she shouted, the third ‘Amadeus’ cutting off as she groaned. Azi tried to brace herself for the pain, but she began to tremble, panting. Nobody told her having pups would be this painful! She squeezed her eyes shut and moaned, collapsing from her upright relaxing position to her side. With every breath she could spare she called for Amadeus, ”Amadeus, Amadeus, Amadeus! Help me, Amadeus!” Her moaning and groaning increased in intensity while the fresh smell of newborn pups and the metallic scent of blood filled the room. ’Something's wrong! Something has to be wrong, right? What if the pups die? Who cares about the pups! What if I die?’ Exhaustion came in waves, each one weakening her muscles and her heartbeat. She tried to scream, but the noise caught in her throat and came out soft. ”Amadeus,” she cried quietly for a final time before her heart skipped a beat then stopped. Azi opened her eyes just in time to watch a cloud of black bloom over her vision. Her straining body relaxed as her soul departed and left the pup without a mother.
Quaci:
Quaci had found a pup. It'd been completely alone, lying in a nest of dry leaves. He'd waited for parents to appear, but none came. So, hesitantly, Quaci stepped into the small den. The pup stirred but didn’t wake. Quaci had no idea what to do with a pup. Was it still too young to be without a mother? Did he know anyone that would take in an abandoned pup? Could he take it in? Maybe he'd have to… unless he could find someone, anyone in a position to care for it. Quaci didn't really care how it turned out, but he knew his conscious would be screaming at him for a while if he just left the little orphan here. He ducked his head and scooped it up. Hesitating for one second, he considered the possibility that its parents might come back for it. No, he'd waited long enough… So, Quaci left, his new burden weighing heavily on his shoulders. He could just imagine now a future confined by the growing pup.
A shout rang through the forest. Quaci paused, ears alert. Other wolves? Maybe they'd be accepting of a pup? Quaci headed towards the direction of the shouts and moans. They originated from a den. What was going on in there? He stuck his head in to see a female with her eyes screwed shut and her muscles tensed. She was making quite a racket. Was she… oh. Quaci’s cheeks fluffed with embarrassment. Well, at least he knew she'd be alright with caring for a pup. Should he just slip it in? Maybe she'd be more accepting of it if she thought it was her own. It did look kinda like her, after all… well… not really, but still, Quaci didn't want to risk her refusing it. So he hurriedly stepped in, dropped the pup, shoved it towards the she-wolf, then ran, hoping she hadn't noticed his presence.
-Exit Quaci-

Amadeus had been hunting, there wasn’t much big game, the area where they had settled seemed to be occupied by voles and gophers. He had caught three gophers, hopefully she would be satisfied. His “queen,” his “purpose in life.” Oh power how he despised her. Perhaps she would refuse to eat such meager pickings and demand the finest buck in the valley. Amadeus growled at the thought. That shewolf. She was beautiful, but unbearably narcissistic and entitled. He swore every day that it would be his last day with her, but he needed those pups, needed them to cement his legacy. He returned to the den, a charming glint in his purple eyes, laying his prize on the ground. ”Empress Azi-“ His face fell lax, jaw hanging open. She was. Dead. And. Pups! Their squealing and sniffling quite pitiful. He felt only slightly guilty that her death brought such a feeling of liberation and joy, but that guilt passed to happiness. Pups! Two beautiful, healthy boys! That happiness then morphed to worry. They needed milk and shelter. He must return to Frigid Plague to raise them.
Determined with heart soaring, Amadeus picked up His newborn sons and began the short trek to his pack lands.
-exit Amadeus and his s unnamed pups-
