A bright aqua ish she wolf with a most distinct pink marking of a lotus on her forehead trudged quietly after her alphess. She has been asked to tag along and of course she didn't mind. She has no other pans so to speak. It typically consisted of breaking hearts,hunting,or doing what she could to get up in the ranks. Which is why she took the opportunity to travel with the Alphess Perjury. With the slightest flick of her tail she drew to a halt for a moment. She has taken notice of their trek. Their territory which was usually clear of undergrowth have way to that of undergrowth. She didn't mind it but she knew this trip was what she believes to be a friendly one. She was much of a blood thirsty wolf and she knew of one was they would have crept into the undergrowth for an attack but that wasn't her. She was level hearted and cunning but that didn't make her bloodthirsty just smart. Coming to a stop as she caught scent of the border she stopped lowering into her light haunches slowly her blue gaze looked to Perjury."so we have come to...welcome them as neighboring territories or?"she asked attempting to assess the situation. Which to her wouldn't be too hard once she for her answer.

It had been quite some time since the Secluded Sunrise, as they called themselves, had taken up residence in Perjury's forest. She and Tala had paid a visit not long after the territory was claimed, as was her custom with any pack which chose to occupy the forest region. Rudely—foolishly—her call at the border had gone unanswered. In the face of such audacity, Perjury was very generous. That show of disrespect was more than enough justification to uproot the entire territory until the coward who called herself alphess could be found, but instead she turned the other cheek. Turned around, went back to her beloved redwoods, carried on her own business, whelped her pups, and peacefully left well enough alone.

This grace period had finally come to an end, and besides—there were some fresh faces among her ranks and many positions to fill. Cerilia was a relative newcomer, and Perjury wanted to evaluate her strengths and weaknesses. In her mind she went through the ranks "Chief Warrior, Chief Scout, Gamma...Beta..." the final vacancy gave her pause. That word brought back images of a bloodstained meadow and a feeling of utter helplessness that a being as powerful as she never expected to experience again in her life. Perjury's face hardened. Never again.

She looked back to Cerilia, who seemed somewhat baffled as to why they were even standing there. "Secluded Sunrise disrespected us in the past," she explained, "You can never go back on a first impression. It is something that simply cannot be undone. But we are giving them the opportunity to show us that they are not the flippant, careless wolves they have made themselves out to be." She smiled, ever so slightly. "You could call it a belated welcome, if you wish."

The alphess took a step forward, lifting her head to the sky and letting out a low, authoritative howl. But she was not about to leave it at that—lifting her paw, Perjury brought her claws down hard into the soil beneath her feet. There was a low rumble far below the earth, a sound which grew louder and sharper as it neared the surface. Pebbles danced on the ground, and soon the trees began to shake violently in the direction of the dens. If the alphess was sleeping, Perjury would make sure that she was woken up by her own personal earthquake alarm clock. She wouldn't cave anything in—yet. She'd give the alphess a chance to finally answer her call.

Blaise:

Blaise padded along the border, her new Betess at her side. Under different circumstances, Blaise would've required that Amora be trained by the current Beta in her duties before ascending to the position. Unfortunately, there was currently no Beta to train new betas. Blaise would've assumed the duty if she weren't already overseeing Epsilon's training. Besides, Amora was a capable female who would be able to grasp and handle her responsibilities as betess. So, Blaise supposed for an instructional stroll through the territory would be enough to get Amora started as the Betess of Secluded Sunrise. Some part of Blaise still saw the young pup that she’d raised. It felt strange to be suddenly confronted by a grown betess ready to assume new responsibilities. Still, Blaise couldn’t deny how proud she was of her daughter to have watched her grow into such a proficient she-wolf. Blaise knew it wasn’t her nurturing paw that had created Amora in the wolf she was. One only had to look at her other child to see how Blaise had failed in her duties as a mother to instill her pups with a better sense of right and wrong.

"Besides being an advisor and second-in-command, one of your main responsibilities will be making sure that the hunters catch enough food for the pack. You'll organize hunting parties to do that and all hunters will report to you. If you notice any subordinates who would serve well as hunter, you can ask me to give them a promotion. You'll need to-" A howl interrupted Blaise. She'd already gone over most of Amora's new responsibilities, and was nearly finished, but a stranger on the border would provide the perfect chance to show the newly promoted Betess the procedure for accepting new wolves. "As I said before, I handle the acceptance of new members, but if I am indisposed, you may step in for me. Since there's a newcomer on the border, it's a good time for you to try it out." Blaise led the way towards the origin of the howl, pausing in the journey as a rumble shook the earth. What was that? Earthquakes had never plagued the territory of Secluded Sunrise previously. It could be power-based, but that would mean a very powerful wolf was nearby. She shot a somewhat worried look towards Amora, wondering if her betess had drawn similar conclusions, before continuing onwards.

The two wolves on the border came into view. The Alphess approached will her usual commanding air. ”Welcome to the border of Secluded Sunrise. My name is Blaise. I am the Alphess of these lands. This is my Betess, Amora.” Blaise nodded to Amora, ready for her to take charge. Most wolves on the wanted to join Secluded Sunrise and Blaise assumed that was the reason for these wolves’ visit here as well. Yet, these two held themselves differently than most strangers on the border with stony expressions. The white wolf seemed especially aloof and authoritative. Their scents were not those of loners. The wind pushed their scents away from Blaise and Amora. It caused the scents to be more difficult to pinpoint, but the two Secluded Sunrise wolves were now standing close enough to detect them. Blaise recognized that scent. She’d had dealings with Frigid Plague members in the past, despite her preference to keep her distance from other packs. Blaise stiffened slightly as she realized that these were not wolves wishing to join Secluded Sunrise. Her dark eyes watched the unknown wolves, extra vigilant for any sign of aggression.

Amora listened acutely to her Alphess, her velvety, black ears swiveled to the appropriate side, honing in on every word Blaise spoke. She had been promoted to Betess not too long ago, which would surprise anyone who didn't know her, considering her 'lack' of experience. It was true, Amora had never held a rank in Secluded Sunrise. In fact, for a good part of the packs' life span, Amora had been absent. But now she was back, arriving with a thirst for power, and a hunger for success. Because she was ambitious did not mean she didn't care about anyone else, neither was she exceedingly brash. She was blunt and upfront about many things, but never reckless. She only took on what she knew she could handle; which...at this point in her life was nothing. She had courageously dredged through her life's struggles with sarcastic wit and unprecedented resourcefulness. Most would take her as an evil wolf at first glance, recognizing her dangerous mind. However, she did not posses the innate wickedness that accompanied the evil hosts. No, she was a caring individual, she just hadn't given herself the opportunity to care, recognizing the weakness that accompanied a heart and conscience. Bravely, she accepted that weakness.

The dark shewolf nodded and occasionally grunted in compliance to the words which Blaise spouted. Amora had begun to see how her mother had improved. While her emotions were more guarded, and her voice had become stony (Epsilon had felt the brunt of these two), Blaise had become an efficient and capable Alphess. She cared deeply about her pack and strove for it's wellness. She didn't let little things turn her world upside down, and instead handled them with a level head and a steady paw. Amora could dare say she was proud of her mother. Though, she didn't have much hope for the model 'mother-daughter' relationship they had once had long ago. No, that was buried in the untouchable, ethereal layers of the past. Amora was content with the 'Alphess-Betess' relationship standing. She hoped Blaise was content as well, her chasing after something that would never happen was useless and even weakening. But then again,s he supposed a little foolishness could be tolerated, as long as it didn't interfere with the inner workings and the welfare of Secluded Sunrise. If the leaders weren't strong, the rest would decay with them.

Amora was about to speak up when the tremor hit. It wasn't a large noise, or a terrifying shake, but Amora could feel the potential there. An earthquake...she had only heard of the chaos wreaking disasters to happen in the mountains; and those always had smaller tremors before and after. Nothing had warned the pair of this quake, and as Amora stood still, there were no aftershocks. Amora glanced at her mother with her identical eyes, registering the exact same thing at the exact same time. A powered wolf was in the area. A very powerful one at that. Trailing slight behind and beside her Alphess, Amora surveyed the arrivals. She could assume that the owners of the howl were also the owners of the quake. And when she saw the wolves-particularly one of them-she knew that her assumption was correct. Standing before her, beside a lesser aqua wolf, was Perjury, Alphess of Frigid Plague.

While she had been wandering, she had made sure she could identify any of the current pack leaders in the valley, digging up their appearances and common habits from wolves she passed on the deer trails. One could never take rumors to be wholly true, but the testimonies of the happen stance travelers seemed to agree on Perjury. She remembered an old, haggard male telling her something about the Alphess. "Don't be fooled by 'er quaint appearance, that there small, shewolf can command the very earth beneath yer feet." Amora surveyed the two with a sturdy, deep expression, neutral. She flicked her tail ever so slightly higher as Blaise introduced her. Her power mark itched to be lighted, but Amora didn't want her power to be too apparent. She supposed the leg was proof enough of it,a and she most certainly did not want to make it seem like she was attacking. That, would end badly indeed. And so she nodded to the two wolves, and spoke in greeting.

It was the answer she was waiting for. The light colored wolfess listened as she heard her alpha female speak. So they had disrespected their pack the first time. That was something that wouldn't settle for the she wolf,at least for the moment. She nodded"a belated welcome then"She spoke as she stood up on her paws as she planted them firmly for what she guessed would come next as her alpha slammed her paw on the ground. The earthy soil quaked under them moving trees and other things. She was sure this was to wake the Alphas of the so called pack they were meeting. She had waited patiently hearing her alpha howl and her blue eyes attentively looked around watching for the other alpha. Finally there they were, she spotted the Alphess and she could only assume that was the Alphess of the pack. She seemed to hold an air of authority,at least. She took note of how she stiffened. Though she spoke not a word until Perjury did. Seeing as it wasn't her place to speak first. It wasn't long until she spotted the dark wolfess whom spoke after the Alphess. She looked at her for a brief moment keeping her stance and posture friendly but that didn't mean she wouldn't turn deadly within seconds if it went south.
