Aurelia:
A dove grey she-pup was resting among the flowers. She was pretty enough, with a lovely soft dove grey coat that had grown in long and fluffy. Her white chest with the dark rim was pleasing to the eye, but the vibrant yellow spots and star that dotted her coat and winged her vibrant blue eyes were the most noticeable things about her. She was made easy to spot, not that it bothered her. She never worried too much on being followed, she could find a new hiding place without leaving as much as a strand of fur. That was what made her truly special, what she could do.
Standing, she shook out her unbelievably fluffy coat. She was clearly not meant for summer. She was a winter wolf all the way thank you very much. Though Spring was her favorite. Everything came back to life. She had been amazed by the color the first time she had ever seen it after the winter she had been born during. She could barely wait for fall though.
Aurelia was not supposed to be here, but how could Uncle Zelax or Aunt Stormstar come after her? It would take them half the day, and she would be home before they got halfway. They would only be waking up after the sun came up. She had surprised herself with her cunning. Now she got to spend some time far away from them. As much as she loved them, she dd like alone time. The top of the falls didn't count anymore, not after she had almost fallen off. She needed somewhere new. Here worked, it was so pretty! The only downside... Aurelia shivered. It was close to them.
Not dwelling on that, she turned her thoughts to how pretty the sunrise was. The pack who had once lived here had been lucky, there wasn't a much prettier sight. Though a blurry memory of the sun rising over Kai Lake rivaled this in beauty. Aurelia was biased though, she used to love Kai Lake. It would be much prettier here, considering that it lacked the memories.
Aurelia wanted to purr, like a cat. Instead she sighed in contentment, flopping back into the flowers. Her smile was sleepy and calm, she was directly avoiding thoughts of her family beyond her aunt and uncle back by Wildwater Falls. She knew she should start home soon anyways, but the thought of home raised the question of: What is home? Kai Lake or Wildwater Falls? Where did she belong? The place she was born, the last place her immediate family had been whole? Or the place she had by, fully knowing that her aunt and uncle were not her parents. Vividly remembering what had happened to them, how their bloody bodies and lifeless eyes had stared at nothing. The smell of her own blood coating her fur.
Neither were her true home, she decided. Her face was almost one of chiding a small pup. She had no real home, she hadn't since she was very small. Home was not a place, it was where her family was. And her family was scattered, her brothers were somewhere out there. Her grandparents, great grandparents, great aunt and uncle. Her home was scattered to the wind like a tornado had picked it up. That thought made her miserable.
