DarkMoon's gaze shifted back to Kilpi. He has a confused look on his face. "But... you agreed to stay with me tonight, didn't you?" His ears began to go down in a sad way because he felt betrayed... and this wasn't the first time he had been betrayed. First, his parents abandoned him when he was a pup. He then was betrayed yet again when one of his friends killed his first mate, right in front of him. And now this... the thought of being betrayed, yet again, for the third time, made DarkMoon almost shut down... But he didn't want Acribus to see him as being a weak, sorry excuse for a wolf. DarkMoon thought to himself "That's it... I'm getting sick and tired of being pushed around... It's time for me to take a stand..." He then turned his attention back to Acribus, but this time, he was angry... Not just because he was trespassing on his property, but also for stifling his one and only opportunity to get a mate again. "You know what? I'm tired of your carelessness, your lack of respect for others, and more importantly, your lack of respect towards me, Kilpi, and my den!" DarkMoon says as he slowly begins walking towards Acribus, his voice trembling with anger.

Acribus;
Acribus' cold eyes glinted as Kilpi seemed to realize what had happened, and let them know that she would be finding her own den. DarkMoon didn't like that—not a bit. Acribus, however, found it hilarious. When Kilpi said she didn't want anyone's paws on her, Acribus gave her a knowing nod. Of course he knew she wouldn't want his paws on her, but having her say it made it that much more interesting. DarkMoon hadn't known.
Then, however, DarkMoon got mad. He started advancing on Acribus again. Perfect—exactly what he had been hoping for. "My carelessness?" Acribus' voice was taunting—displaying just how little DarkMoon intimidated him. "You don't even know me, young one. That is clear by your actions. You do not know the fire you're playing with here." His eyes danced once more. He was toying with the haughty male. Baiting him. Daring him to attack. "And a lack of respect for others? I believe you were the only one showing a lack of respect." He squared his chest and clicked his teeth. "Assuming a lady would spend the night with you before even asking—what's more, assuming she needed protecting?" He glanced at Kilpi. "She looks capable enough to me. You also took offense and threatened me, a wellmeaning passerby. I was only making sure the lady was not getting taken advantage of. You certainly aren't very polie—not at all. And further more..." Acribus gave a rare smile once again. "I believe my actions toward Kilpi were nothing but respectful. What do you think, Kilpi? As for your den, Dark, I hadn't even looked at it, nor mentioned it in any way. The only wolf or thing here that I don't respect is you."
He could feel the adrenaline already starting to pump through his veins. This was his favourite part. He was not a big wolf—but that was more for the better, as larger wolves always underestimated him. Hadn't he crippled and nearly blinded Deimos, a wolf who was nearly three times the size of DarkMoon? He smiled once more, his teeth stained yellow from the blood they had encountered over the years.
He had never met a Good wolf so willing to fight before. It was interesting. Usually only Evil wolves were so easily offended—so easy to take advantage of. But Acribus kept playing. It was all for the better. This could very well end in a fight.
((Hey, Dark! If DarkMoon really does end up wanting to fight Acribus (I would check up on his bio before you decide to attack though—he lives for killing and fighting, haha!) a moderator will have to "mod" it (as in, say what attacks land, who gets injured worse, etc.) I can't mod it because Acribus is my wolf haha! Since @shiver is already in this thread she could do it when she replies if she wants, but having any modded fight will slow the thread down a lot, so just forewarning you before you reply!))

(Nah, DarkMoon is one who generally tries to avoid conflict, he doesn't really want to fight, but if his life was in danger, then he would.) DarkMoon realizes after weighing the consequences of fighting Acribus, that there would be no end to the fight. So, he backed off and says "I apologize for my outburst, I was just tired of being pushed around, that's all. You see, as a pup, I was abandoned by my parents because they said that 'it was for my own good'. I had to fight pretty much my whole life... and I'm sure you can understand that, considering that you have those scars all over you're body. But that's not the worst part... after I matured enough, I got my first mate, and she loved me just as much as I loved her... but then..." DarkMoon's voice began to crack in sadness "then, a few of my friends killed her out of jealousy, and I was off hunting for food when she was killed, and when I got back, and saw her dead body laying on the floor of my den, I lost it... and I knew exactly who did it too, because my friends were talking about how jealous they were of me and my mate... then, I walked over to them, and I told them to get out of my territory and never come back, and they did just that. So, now you can see why I acted in that manner." DarkMoon then walked back to his den, with his ears and head down in a sad way.

Kilpi didn't like how this was going. She didn't dislike either wolf for doing what they did, but she didn't care for the animosity that was being paraded. She didn't like the be the subject of an argument she wasn't in, but also didn't want to get involved. The white male seemed like he wouldn't turn on her unless she did. Darkmoon was a sensitive guy and she didn't know how well he would take to her taking a side. Not that she was planning on it. However, as a neutral wolf she didn't feel the need to be a mediator, but she still felt some responsibility for this rash outbreak of flashing fangs and glinting gazes. She felt that she should at least put her own feelings out there. But no bravery sufficient for her to do so was scrounged from her bones, and thus she watched, her body tense and on edge. Darkmoon sounded betrayed, but he was mistaken. She had not agreed to stay the night. He had offered protection from the elements and predators, and she had followed, not thinking as a loner should have. The truth was, Kilpi wasn't the brightest star in the sky. She wasn't dumb, but she was no clever mind.
As Acribus spoke and glanced her over she felt her skin crawl. This was definitely not where she was supposed to be. Acribus was right, but he certainly did not have the air of a 'Good Samaritan.' As hackles rose, Darkmoon seemed to see the folly in his ways. He proceeded to wallow is self pity. Self pity which, by his story, was deserved. Still, Kilpi felt strange when she thought of the possibility that she could've replaced this murdered she wolf. That were his intentions were they not? Kilpi wasn't opposed to settling down, but she felt a lump of guilt in her belly even now, knowing her family would never be reunited; knowing that it was quite definitely her fault.
When both wolves finally fell silent, Kilpi received her long awaited burst of bravery. Straightening her white striped legs, she spoke. "I will tell you both what I think," Her voice was not sassy nor commanding, but firm and thoughtful. "I do not wish to be the center of attention tonight, but I wish to tell my views." her dual eyes flicked over the two males before they trained themselves back to the earth. "I had no intention of becoming romantic with Darkmoon, merely accepting his kind invitation for shelter. I thank you...sir...for looking out for my well being. I understand why both of you are feeling so prickly and I hope no fight will break out in the moonlight. But if one does I am rooting for neither side. Do as you will, but think about it first." Kilpi was astonished at her bravery and she lifted her eyes, fixing her gaze of the dark wolf. "Darkmoon I thank you for your kindness, but I will be going now. And you, white wolf," She glanced over his scar and declined the curiosity to ask what happened. "Time certainly heals no wounds." She awkwardly waved her tail, a lopsided smile flashed on her face before she spun on a dime and danced off into the darkness.

(Yep, definitely unexpected. And Shiver, can DarkMoon and Kilpi eventually meet again, and hopefully with a different outcome this time?) DarkMoon felt like a little chunk of his heart had just been ripped out. He collapsed onto the floor of his den and began whimpering. The tears just kept coming, for he felt that the last little glimmer of hope that he had of finding another mate was gone. But then, instead of that hope being extinguished, it flourished once again. "Maybe there will be another opportunity to be with Kilpi. When I looked into her eyes, I saw a hint of guilt, as if she wanted to be with me, but something was preventing her from doing so..." DarkMoon thought, the tears now dried up and a slight smile appeared on his face. Then he fell asleep and began dreaming about what he would say to Kilpi if he were to encounter her again, and what he might do, should she accept his request.

Acribus;
DarkMoon launched into a sorry explanation of his past. Acribus watched him, silent and dumbfounded. What was he suppose to do with this information? Did this male not understand how evil wolves worked? Acribus did not care about his lost family, and he did not care about his lost mate. Heck, he may have even killed her himself—who was he to say. He had killed so many mated wolves and left their lvoed ones to remain. In any case, DarkMoon seemed to think that giving an explanation of why he had acted in such a way was enough to let it blow over. Acribus' purple eyes flashed green for a moment. "On the contrary," Acribus growled, upset now that his fight had been cancelled. "I don't see why you acted that way. Kilpi is nothing to you—why would you link an old mate's death with a female you do not even know? Tell me, who are her sires? What is her alignment? Where did she come from? Does she have any friends? Has she ever killed anyone?" The questions came tumbling out of Acribus. It was hilarious, whatever DarkMoon had thought would happen. Acribus cared not for the answers to the questions, but he wanted DarkMoon to see the ridiculousness of it all.
Kilpi then said something, making it clear that she was thinking along the same lines as Acribus. Acribus turned to DarkMoon and gave him a nasty smile, still hoping for that fight. With Kilpi gone though, DarkMoon seemed to think that was it. Did he forget that Acribus was still standing right there? He actually laid down in his den and began to whimper. Acribus threw his head back, simply howling with laughter. What was this wolf's problem? Crying for someone he did not even know?
But then, the silliest of all the decisions he had made so far—he went to sleep. Perhaps not a deep sleep, but he closed his eyes. Acribus froze on the spot, eyes wide. To close your eyes on a hostile Evil wolf, especially Acribus, was the deepest level of foolishness. Already, Acribus could envision himself tearing into DarkMoon and killing him then and there. Perhaps give him a taste of how Evils and Goods usually interact with each other. It would be so easy... He took a step toward the male, inhaling slowly, his claws tracing over the earth. So easy. And here he was, giving it to him openly.
Acribus swayed on the spot, staring at DarkMoon's neck and deciding whether to leave or to stay.

(Wow Meds, creepy much? XD) DarkMoon sensed that there was danger nearby and immediately woke up. He saw Acribus standing over him, probably debating on weather to kill him or not. DarkMoon says "what on earth do you think you're doing, standing in MY den, and on top of that, looking like you may kill me?!" He stands up, then says "look, I don't want to fight. I know you're evil, there's no doubt in that. I understand that you are thirsty for blood... but please, there is another way to quench that thirst, I know where several big bucks live, and they're not too far away from here. I can take you to them, if you want me to. I promise it'll be worth your while." DarkMoon gives Acribus an "I trust you" look. Then he says "and by the way, I apologize for my actions. The more I reflected on what happened, the more I realized that I was being disrespectful. Once again, my most sincere apologies."

Acribus;
Acribus scoffed as DarkMoon awakened and stood in front of him. He took a step back, hating the close proximity to him. Ever since his mother had attempted to rip out his throat, close proximity to other wolves had set him on edge. Only White Magic had put him at ease... He shook his head violently, clearing it of the beautiful and terrible goddess.
"You think I search only for blood?" He shook his head slowly. "A buck's blood does not replace that of a wolf." He gave a meaningful glance, then turned on his tail. DarkMoon was foolish to trust him. Even if Acribus did not kill him this time, it didn't mean he wouldn't try to next time. There was no telling how Evil wolves would react. Trusting them was folly.
DarkMoon gave his apologies, and Acribus shook out his grubby, ever-dirty fur. He said nothing in reply to the apologies, but spoke over his shoulder as he left. Why he was giving DarkMoon this piece of advice he had no idea—perhaps it had to do with his mind being full of White Magic. He growled to himself. "Evil wolves are unpredictable. Some will pretend to be kind just to get your neck within their biting range. Since you are Good, steer clear of Evils. Your Good alignment and my Evil alignment are enough reason for us to kill each other—no one would question it." His eyes flashed green, and he took his leave.

DarkMoon waited until he could no longer hear Acribus's paw steps before he exited his den to go look for Kilpi. While he was looking, he couldn't help but feel guilty for trusting Acribus. He said to himself "How naive could I have been... trusting an evil wolf... and worst yet, falling asleep while the evil wolf was still on the premises... Acribus was right, I seriously need to think about my view on evil wolves... before I get myself killed..."
