Filth In the Beauty (Anyone Please Join!)

Luna wandered around the Forest of Love. Luna was questioning herself, not knowing why she was here but decided it didn't matter. The she-wolf slowly walked through the beautiful pink leafed trees, admiring the scenery. She stumbled upon a small clearing and decided this was a good place to rest. SHe walked further into the clearing and sat. Luna decided to let a song carry itself to other wolves on the wind, and howled a long, happy howl. It was beautiful, her voice going from high to low, back up high again. Her song was heard for at least a mile. She let her voice fade out, then waited for someone, anyone, to come visit her. She was getting rather lonely.

Maachah was planning on going through the forest to get home when he stumbled upon the clearing. Settling in the trees for a while to rest from the last trying experience he had he heard a howl. The wolf that was at the oasis earlier. Maachah didn't want her to think he was a creep so he saw two options. Hide and hope she didn't smell him or reveal himself. He chose the latter. When she was done with her howling song he came out quietly. "Hey Lunar I believe is what you said your name was. Correct me if I'm wrong. Funny seeing you here. I was just on my way home and decided I'd stop here to rest. Please let me know if you want me to leave. I didn't mean to intrude on anything."
(Maachah was getting kinda bored in the oasis. Hope you don't mind meeting him again.)

Luna

Luna had been waiting quietly in her clearing. She was starting to get sleepy when Maachah reappeared.

"Oh no, you're absolutely fine! And my name is Luna." She giggled at his mistake. It happened a lot. She stood and walked towards Maccah.

"I didn't think anyone would come," Luna said quietly. She was happy to see a familiar face. Maccah was really the only wolf she knew, to be entirely honest. The she-wolf was happy to have company. Even if it was the company of someone who seemed irritable. Luna was a social wolf and hated being alone for too long. So even if Maachah was a frump, she was fine with it.

He shook his fur coat out and nodded at the wolf. "I'm sorry for both the mistake of your name and how short I was before. I had had a trying day or two there. The wolves I was with were of a mostly different view point than me. He looked around. This was the forest of love so she was either looking for love or meeting someone. In either case, he couldn't help her. Now that I know you don't mind me sticking around I think I'll go back to my spot in the trees. He didn't want to get trapped in yet another situation like before so he wanted to leave as soon as possible before things got frustrating or awkward.

Laughing as he remembered Eclipse stopping him with vines because she wanted to talk he hoped this wolf wouldn't try and do the same. He stopped though. He figured it wouldn't hurt to be a little friendly to Luna. It wasn't her fault his last meeting had gone slightly sour. "You know what I suppose I could stay and talk for a while."

Luna smiled and shook pink leaves out of her fur.

"It's quite alright. I understand how those things happen. I am absolutely horrid with names, yours is just so unique." The she wolf chirped. She hoped she didn't seem overly happy. Just trying to put on her mask. Her face fell at Maccah's leaving, then brightened again at his change of mind. Luna sat down and smiled.

"So what brings you around here, other than you're going home." Luna asked. She didn't take Maccah for the type who would pass through the Forest of Love to get home faster. It just didn't fit his personality from what she'd seen.

"I'm not really sure what to say. I really have to be somewhere and I also really want to get home so I guess I'll take any short cut possible. Oh and about my name if you ever have an occasion to point out that it is spelled with two h's. One after the double c and one after the a that comes after that." He laughed nervously. Please don't be offended by that. It was meant as a joke. So as they say turnabout is fair play. What are you doing here?" He looked down and pawed the ground the dirt coating one of his three black socks.

Luna just laughed uncontrollably. And then stopped abruptly. She sounded like a mad woman. And that was not an impression she wanted to make. She licked her paw carefully before responding.

"I'm not offended at all Macchah. I don't mind jokes at all. I take things as a joke too much, to be honest." Luna yipped. She was happier after that. It was a good laugh. She hoped she didn't make Macchah uncomfortable.

"Sorry if that made you uncomfortable." Luna apologized. She almost forgot about Macchah's question.

"I came here.... I came here to maybe find a mate. I wanna settle down, y'know?"

[Argus]

Well I hear it's it's better to laugh than to cry. Can't say much since I never do either unless you count the occasional nervous chuckle. And no it didn't make me uncomfortable Luna. Very little does. The mate part was what he had feared but he locked those thoughts in jail and threw the cell key away. "So have anyone particular in mind for your mate? A wolf you have a crush on maybe?" He grinned sadistically in his mind. Despite the name of the forest, she'd probably have better luck of finding a sane mate somewhere else. Too many loons heard the name of the forest and assumed it was a free for all mating site.

Luna smiled. She seemed a little off at Macchah's question.

"N-not really. A nice wolf I guess, but someone who can also put his foot down. Some one to s-settle down with I guess. This is really the only place I go to uh, try to find a mate. No one else, anywhere else, wants that. If t-they do. They come here." Luna rambled. She stuttered, and her cheeks grew hot, but it couldn't be seen. Her fur was too dark and thick. The she wolf was half tempted to run right then and there but decided against it.

"Are y-you looking to settle down?"

Maachah fiddled around a little more. His front paw was now completely brown instead of black. He found her behavior odd but didn't comment on it.

"Well that depends really." He didn't want to say any more on the subject. "But a fair warning about the forest of love, it's full of weirdos. You can't really place all your hopes on finding a mate in this place. That would be a bad idea." Beyond that he didn't want to have a conversation about the forest of love. He didn't like the colors the leaves were always in. Hated the color orange and red certainly wasn't his favorite either.

"So, why are you acting nervous around me all of a sudden?

Luna let out a small, annoyed growl.

"It's embarrassing why I'm here! And the fact that I didn't even realize that there are weirdos here is even worse. On top of it all, I find you extremely attractive." Luna blurted. She then covered her face and mentally bashed herself for saying that. It's not something you say to someone you've barely met. You just don't!

"Sorry if that was a bit forward. Or a lot forward. I have a tendency to just say things like that at the worst of times and it's so difficult to stop. It's a defense mechanism I guess, but it's a horrible one." Luna finished, her voice muffled beneath her paws. Wow she was an idiot.

Now that was not good news for him. But he didn't feel like hurting another's feelings so he didn't leave. "You're forgiven. Although I'd prefer if you didn't make a habit of it. He scuffed up the ground but then stopped as he realized what he was doing. "We all bad, embarrassing, or nervous habits. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Mine's scuffing up the dirt with my paw." It wasn't the worst ever considering the fact that his upper body blended in completely with the dirt. His violet eyes were empty as he said this though and his face was as impassive as ever. "And you never answered my earlier question."

"Which question? Why was I nervous? I find you attractive. I just explained it. And I don't plan on making a habit of it. Though I just said it again. But, that was to clarify." Luna replied. He seemed stoic. Bored. "You can leave if you'd like. You seem rather bored. I should go too before I meet any of those weirdos you spoke about before." Luna said. She stood up and walked in a tight circle before facing Maccah again. "I actually should really get going. You know, I gotta eat. And drink. Bodily needs and stuff." Luna said. She turned to leave.

"What's got your fur ruffled? I'm simply asking questions here. It's dark leaving would be ill advised. The creeps really come out at night. If you want to eat I'm sure we can each scrounge something out. And no I actually can't leave because this is where I'll be sleeping tonight. I'm not bored I've just had a long day. Although if you're gonna treat me like dirt I will go." He figured if he left that would leave her plenty of time to find a mate. And he was tempted to do so. If she left it would mean he could be alone but he would soon grow bored here. The forest of love was not his favorite place even less so at night.

He sighed and turned to face the trees. Let her stay if she wanted but if she was gonna find fault in everything he did or say he would just stop talking.

Luna was surprised that he got all defensive.

"I didn't mean anything by that! What's got your fur ruffled?" Luna asked. With that, she left her small clearing and went to find a place to stay elsewhere. If Macchah was gonna be rude and a bit mean, then so be it. Luna didn't have time for salty wolves. Especially not ones as salty as a saltine cracker. Not that Luna knew what that was. No one did, she thought. Her tail was curled upwards as she left the clearing, she was disappointed. Maccah had seemed nice enough. Turns out she was wrong about him.
