Rhea:
The sun had already set, and Rhea was looking for a place to check in for the night. After wandering through the dark green-blue woods in the direction of the mountains, she came across a mysterious cave. Well, it was more of a smooth-around-the-edges hole than a cave. Up a steep rocky slope she climbed, until eventually reaching the entrance. It was completely dark, other than the moonlight which filtered a few feet inside. There was no scent of other wolves which Rhea could pick up, so she sat in the moonlight cast on the floor, and looked out at the view the little cave provided. Treetops as far as the eye could see, breaking at the horizon into a starry sky with a full moon watching her from above. Clouds were rolling in from far off. Soon they would cover the moon and drench the forest in rain. Rhea was glad she found shelter when she did.
She was feeling particularly lonely that evening. She had been meandering through the woods for so long on her own, she missed the comfort of other wolves. And frankly, the night was kind of creeping her out. She glanced down at the thick leafy canopy and imagined some sort of animal stalking its way through the trees, eventually coming to her cave to attack in the night.
Rhea shivered, then swiveled around to face the blackness toward the back of her shelter. Slowly, she inched her way into the dark until coming to a wall. She rested her head against some rocks, and drifted into sleep.

NightHowler:
He didn't know what he was doing just that it was getting darker and colder. He had to find shelter fast. He smelled and looked around, but saw nothing. where am I going to find a shelter out here. he thought then looked up at a great mountain. In the middle of the mountain was a nice smooth cave. He finally found a place to shelter for the night. He started to climb up getting muddy and leave s stuck to the mud making him heavier. When he got to the cave he looked in and saw nothing then he took a sniff and smelled a female wolf. She smelled calm and scared so he knew she was not harmful. He entered the cave and almost tripped on a tail. He looked down to see the female he smelled sleeping. He decided to sleep also so he layed down next to her and drifted off.

Rhea:
A clap of thunder. Rhea woke. As she had predicted, it was now raining. It was probably past midnight, she had been sleeping only a few hours, and the night was the opposite of quiet. Sounds of pattering rainfall filled the cave, and it became evident, to her dismay, that it would be impossible to fall back asleep.
Rhea lifted her head. The cave was completely dark, and the smell of rain disguised any other scent in the area. Upon shifting her position, she felt fur against her shoulder. She yipped, leaping back at the sudden contact with another wolf when she thought she was alone. If the thunder hadn't woken him, surely her yip had. Rhea backed up, now in a defensive position, since she had no idea if this stranger meant trouble. With storm clouds covering the moon, it was almost total darkness. At least he wouldn't see just how small Rhea was.

NightHowler was dreaming about finding a mate then having a family when the clap of thunder than a yip woke him. He stood up then stretched his long lean muscles. He noticed the female wolf he slept by was awake and in a defensive position. "is it finally morning." he said sleepily forgetting she was a stranger. He looked out the cave and noticed it was raining and the clouds blocking half the moon. "why did you wake me its not even morning yet." he said before noticing she was scared. "dont worry I won't hurt you my name is NightHowler." he said than sat down.

Rhea:
Sitting down, Rhea relaxed when the wolf seemed to be harmless. "Well, gee, I'm sorry my wail of fear woke you," she said. There was a flash outside, followed by a roll of thunder. For just a second, the lightning illuminated the cave, providing for Rhea a glimpse at the stranger. Muscles were visible under black and white fur. His eyes, catching the light, were a vibrant green.
"You don't do that." Rhea continued. "You don't fall asleep in other wolves' caves without permission. I could've had a heart attack. I could've died. Is that your intention? To kill me? I'd be so mad at you if you killed me." Maybe Rhea was being too dramatic, but she really was irritated. At the same time, however, she was glad to have company. She was always glad to have company.
When the wolf said his name, she responded flatly "Rhea." Her shoulders rolled back. The darkness was awful, and she knew there was no way she'd be able to fall back asleep with the commotion of rain and thunder going on outside. "I hope morning gets here soon. This darkness is dreadful."

Epicenter;
The looming mountain brought back memories as the sun started to set. His duo eyes looked up at the mountain that reflected the warm colors of the sunset. A slight smile smoothed its way on his maw, panting from his day’s journey. He stretched his tall figure, front and back legs and glanced behind him where looming clouds haunted the horizon. His ears flicked curiously, and he looked back up at the mountain. He seemed to remember on his last journey up the mountain that there had been caves dotting the side of the mountain. Memories of the companionship he had also made him smile, wondering where the two wolves were, but at the same time not worrying about them. Epicenter was naturally a curious wolf; seeking and gathering all the information he could, for he had known that knowledge was power… And power was something he continually thirsted for.
He stared up at the clouds once more and at the same time feeling the energy pulse on his paw where his marking had formed. He directed the power into the sky, specifically gathering the information it would need to mimic the brewing rainstorm. His pelt’s green and brown melted away and became a scene in the sky, and would only be helpful if he was hiding from an ant looking up at him – but he liked to think he could be up in those clouds. After a few moments his pelt started to ripple slowly like the roiling clouds, and soon faded as Epicenter got bored. He realized the storm was closer, the sun gone, and darkness was settling on the valley. He had lost track of time, and he would not be able to outrun the storm before he found shelter on the mountain.
With a sigh he propelled himself up the mountain, using his claws in tricky steep areas, and trying to keep a steady pace. The rain started to fall and the clouds now covered most of the light from the starry and moonlit night. Almost blindly he felt his way up, his paws splattering through early puddles that were starting to form. Thunder sounded above and he sighed, he paused and looked ahead through the blurred sky that was now saturated with thick rain. He spotted a ledge and dark spot in the mountain that he supposed to be one of the caves he had been hoping to come across.
The closer he got to the cave, the more realized that there were others and that he was not alone. Making sure the voices were wolves, not some other mountain animal, Epicenter made a gamble and spoke. “Hello?” He called. He took a gamble, even being outnumbered, and stepped just inside where the rain wouldn’t be able to fall so heavily on him. Without shaking his fur out, he peered into the darkness. “I apologize if I’m interrupting something…” He said gently, and a little tense, prepared to make a run for it if the two wolves (he assumed by the scents) ended up not being friendly.

NightHowler agreed with rhea that they wouldn't get back to sleep. "im sorry I slept by you it's just when I was little my loner friends would do this to keep warm." he sad sadly remembering his dead and only family. "i thought this was just a cave to shelter I'm sorry I didn't know someone owned it." he said bowing his head in apology. That moment he jumped straight into the air. A new male walked into the cave and scared him to death. "now I know what you meant by scaring you to death." he said still shaking. "and you never sneak up on a wolf." he told the wolf but a little growl came out. He started to blush when he asked if he interrupted. "matter of fairly you where we where talking then you scare me." he said keeping back a smile.

Rhea:
When NightHowler apologized, Rhea smiled slightly, even though he couldn't see her. "Oh," she said. "I mean, I'm not against staying close to keep warm. You still could've asked first, though." Rhea flicked her ears, wishing the rain would stop so she could hear her conversation partner better. As much as she loved rain, this was annoying. "And I don't own this cave. I just came across it like you." she said, then wondered if he meant his comment on her owning the cave sarcastically. "But still," she continued. "Just because I don't own it doesn't mean it's a free-for-all. I occupied it first, so per proper etiquette, it would be the polite thing to seek permission first."
Rhea swished her tail behind her, enjoying the conversation. She wanted NightHowler to stay so she wouldn't be so lonely. Suddenly, she feared her lecturing may have scared him off. "I'm sorry," she said. "I don't want to sound like I'm made of rules. I'm not your mother, anyway." Rhea took a step closer to NightHowler. "So, since it's obvious we're not getting anymore sleep, what do you want to do? I have a power to keep us both dry, so we could go out in the rain." Rhea tilted her shoulder to show off her tattoo, then realized he couldn't see her and blushed at her mistake. A flash of lightning and a thunder clap caused her to flinch, and question if going out would be a good idea after all. "Or we could just stay here and chat."
All of a sudden, another wolf's dark figure appeared at the cave entrance, causing NightHowler to leap back in fear. He was barely visible standing there, and disappeared completely when he stepped into the cave. NightHowler growled at him, which took Rhea by surprise. She tried to lighten the tension by adding to NightHowler's remark "It's fine, though. I'm Rhea and this is NightHowler. You must be sopping wet." The last sentence she delivered sympathetically.

Epicenter;
Epicenter heard shuffling inside and he took a half step back at the startled voice. He had not exactly snuck up on them… He had announced himself before he had entered, though he had not waited for response before entering… It was a female and male, and by the tension in the male’s irritated voice, he worried he had come in an awkward moment. However, his worry was not for them, but perhaps possible negative reaction to his presence…but they had only been talking, the male said.
His eyes blindly moved to where the voice of the female came from, her tender voice seemed to be trying to make up for the male’s sour response. Rhea made a comment about him being wet and he became suddenly aware of how wet he was and cold. He had not shook himself out as a courtesy and he glanced in the direction of the male, thinking he should wait a little longer before ridding himself of the liquid that clung to him. “I apologize for my sudden entry, Rhea, NightHowler. I was seeking shelter from the storm – so yes…” He said with a smile in his voice. “I am quite wet.” Duo eyes looked down to his dark silhouetted form where he could barely make out the water dripping from his coat.
“I’m Epicenter, of Secluded Sunrise. Would it be alright if I wait out the rain here?” He asked, tilting his head back up at glancing at the two shadow covered wolves. He guessed he should ask to be polite, and hopefully make up to the male. While Epicenter did not feel for others, he constantly looked to please and gain the trust of others – but not to harm them, but for his own good. For his own purposes.

NightHowler didn't trust this male so he went closer to Rhea. "nice to meet you." he said trying not to growl. He didn't know why he wanted to protect rhea but he probably knew it was from feelings. Rhea was the only wolf that he actually liked since his loner friends died to protect him. He didn't know what to say so he just layed down and eyed epicenter waiting for him to do something bad. He saw how wet the wolf was. "why didn't you shake your fur are you that stupid." he said holding back a laugh and amused growl.

Rhea:
"Now you see, NightHowler, that is how you enter a cave. You ask for permission first." Rhea turned to Epicenter. The storm was beginning to clear away, so the moonlight enabled her to just barely see him. Green and brown fur and… was that a tattoo? "Sure you can wait here with us." she said. "Say, what physical power do you have? I have level one rain from Taboo. You got yours from Sheba, right? Since Secluded Sunrise is neutral? I may join a pack someday. Do you know who lives in Tranquil Meadows?" The thing about Rhea was that she could talk and talk and talk if no one stopped her. She had to tell herself to calm down so she wouldn't seem haughty or overwhelming, especially when around quieter types. But Epicenter and NightHowler didn't seem too shy, so she was probably safe.
It took Rhea by surprise when NightHowler called Epicenter stupid. She was quick to defend him, even though she barely knew him. "That's so rude, NightHowler! Don't call him stupid!" She turned back to Epicenter. He had probably just been trying not to get them wet. He was being polite. "Go ahead and shake yourself off. I could use my power to keep us dry." Rhea concentrated on the rain on Epicenter's pelt, ready to block them from splashing her and NightHowler once they left his fur.

Epicenter;
His head tilted slightly in amusement as Rhea lightly scolded the male and Epicenter gathered that they were also strangers, meeting each other in the past hours or so. So, it surprised him as he heard NightHowler move protectively, and perhaps… possessively? closer to Rhea. He kept his expression blank, but was amused at the contrasting personalities of the pair. Rhea started to speak and he enjoyed her sudden comfort in speaking – it released a certain tension that he had felt from the male. He picked up his paw and looked at the bottom in reflex, he guessed it had glowed on his way in (as he often kept it close to the surface in order to use it quickly) and he nodded, his tail swaying in a friendly manner. He also liked wolves with a loose tongue, it made getting information easier and it also made the encounter more pleasant. A random thought crossed his mind then – thinking how it would be easier to lead a bunch of trusting good wolves, than neutral wolves or even evil. He almost missed her questions, but even as he opened his maw to speak, the male told him to shake out, as if he had not thought about doing it before. His jaw tightened, but this male did not owe him respect, so the flare of anger faded quickly, especially when Rhea spoke again.
The rain continued lightly – but the moon and starlight were slowly breaking free of the sudden autumn storm and allowing a soft light into their cave. The male was mostly black, but the moonlight caught easily on the white that layered his underbelly. The female was smaller, but her coat was a brilliant red and caught the light easily, though he couldn’t make out the darker shapes that scattered her lithe frame. He couldn’t help but smile as she defended him quickly at NightHowler’s accusation – but was more interested in her ability, he would rather not getting on the male’s bad side so early on.
“Well, I dare say I will take you up on the offer Rhea.” Her maroon gaze seemed to be focused at that moment, so he crouched a little as he shook himself free of the layer of water that had seeped into his summer coat, that had been slowly thickening for winter. He had purposely tried to keep his eyes open to see if he could watch her use her ability.
“Thank you.” His tail swayed once more and he sat to get more comfortable. He glanced outside, where the storm was slowly clearing up. If the two would allow, he would probably wait until daybreak to continue his journey up the mountain.
“Yes, I did go see Sheba, and was blessed with Chameleon. And I have heard of Tranquil Meadows, though I have not personally been there. There is a good pack that dwells there I believe.” What had the name been that the members of his pack had mentioned? “Eternal Snowfall, I believe it’s called.” He did not know enough of them to suggest living there, but he could be helpful in that sense.
“Have you two been in the valley for long then? And have you, NightHowler, ever thought of joining a pack?” If he were to one day lead a pack, he needed to make connections early if he wanted to reach his goal.

NightHowler whimpered when Rhea yelled at him. He didn't trust this wolf but for Rhea he would. He got closer to her when the stranger shook and didn't get wet. He layed down with his head on paws and listened to the male talk. NightHowler knew the male knew to not get close to her. These feelings for her felt weird but welcoming. Like they could have been there forever and he didn't know. "yes you are right Rhea I should have asked to come in but you where asleep and I didn't want to wake you." he said rubbing his tail down hers. "i don't think I could survive in a pack that's to many rules and wolves to remember." he told the male. "i might join my friend Claw in the outcast pack though." he said telling the truth. He didn't want to spill out anything but he had to for Rhea. "i grew up with my mom and dad who where both loners, they died when I was a year old and I became the lonely loner." he said to them. "when I was in a great battle and close to death some loners my age helped me out and became my family." he said remembering his family. "they died saving me once again so I lived with no one for the rest of my life and that was two years ago." he said sadly and layed down. He put his tail on Rhea's to get comfort.

Rhea:
Concentrating her energy on every droplet of rain leaving Epicenter's pelt, Rhea created a mental shield around her and NightHowler's bodies. Every bullet of water coming close to them, she redirected, sending it flying away from the two. When Epicenter was done and dry, Rhea felt drained of her power's energy. Rain was a fairly new power to her, so most tasks, including the simplest ones, made her weary. She was breathing heavily as she listened to Epicenter speak.
"Chameleon," she repeated his words, sounding wistful. "So you can, like, blend in with your surroundings? That sounds so cool!" Rhea felt suddenly embarrassed at how childish she sounded, dropping her gaze and brushing a paw against the ground. But she quickly pounced at the subject of Eternal Snowfall. "I think I'll look into that. Joining a pack is on my mental to-do list, after all." This time, she tried to sound a little more grown up.
Next, Epicenter asked if they two had been in the valley long. Rhea shook her head. "I came here quite recently, actually, in search of…" she trailed off. What was it she was searching for, anyway? "I guess just a new life," she decided. "I had heard rumors of this place and the magic here, and made the decision to leave home. I needed a little adventure."
He then asked NightHowler if he was planning on joining a pack, and Rhea listened to him talk about his past. When she felt NightHowler's tail touch hers, a sign of wanting comfort, she slid closer to him. It wasn't meant to suggest anything romantic, but when Rhea saw a wolf in pain she tried her best to be a shoulder to lean on. "Being on your own can get lonely." Rhea sighed. She understood what NightHowler meant. But as he went on to speak about his rough past, she began to feel out of place. Rhea had had a happy pampered childhood. She knew very little of the hardships others faced. Awkwardly, she stiffened, then tried to say something comforting. "That must've been hard for you," was all she could muster.

Pan;
A head, brown, tan, and marked with a line of orange and currently dripping wet, suddenly appeared around the mouth of the cave. Pan had been romping about in the storm, revelling in the chilling rain and the way the cold wind tore at his fur, when he had heard voices. At first it was just two, a male and a female, when a third voice cropped up. Pan's ears had flicked toward the choir of sound then, and without a second thought (for Pan rarely thought twice), he had lunged into a headlong gallop towards the echoing cave. It wasn't a quiet thing, his approach, because in some places the mud was up past his ankles, but it was quick. In no time, there he was, standing unassumingly in the entrance. The feather in his mane was shabby at best for how wet it was, and he appeared even smaller than he really was, but his grin could have lit the area. Just as he was about to intrude on their conversation, another flash of lightning and near deafening clap of thunder rolled across the black sky. Pan jumped only a little, more to turn and watch the sky than from fear. When the thunder had quit it's echoing, he cleared his threat and entered the, by then, rather crowded cave.
Another flash of lightning gave him a quick glimpse of the occupants, enough to know that he had never met them before. It had sounded like they had been discussing packs, pasts, and powers before he had arrived. His tail waved behind him, sending a streaky line of water droplets out behind him towards the rest of the storm. He didn't bother shaking off—being wet didn't bother him—but nor did he approach the others. One, he felt it would be rude to get them wet, and two, he was outnumbered and knew nothing about his new company.
"Everyone needs a bit of adventure," He said in response to Rhea's most recent words. He winked in the blackness, but it was a wasted gesture as nobody could see it anyway. "I'm Pan, here to intrude on an already crowded gathering—if I may."
Then he lapsed into silence, listening for the rest of the conversation that had been ongoing when he entered. He could sense the other male, the one still standing, nearby, but his energy seemed quiet—almost calm, so Pan didn't worry himself overmuch.
