Epicenter;
The male followed Koa with his eyes as she jumped off the trunk and scanned the area. His ears flicked and he glanced in the direction they were going to head and then back to Koa as she began to speak. As she set forward, he followed after her and he nodded at the improved plan. The snow crunched softly under their footfall, they would need an advantage like the wind and the slope to be successful in sneaking up on prey.
“I agree.” The more and more he got to know Koa, the more level headed she seemed, the more he respected her.
His voice paused, unsure of how to mention the other part of his plan. It was not awkward, but he always had reservations of giving away information. He was comfortable around Koa, but they were only acquaintances, but she had no alliance to a pack either… He batted around the facts he knew and didn’t know about Koa until he quickened his pace a little to walk parallel to her.
“I also have another trick at the ready, it came in handy the other day when catching a rabbit, I’m guessing it will have the same effect on any other unsuspecting prey.”
He smiled at this and instead of just telling her, he decided to show her, since it was easier that way anyways. The bottom of his paw where the mark lay had been itching for the longest while, and he was glad to take and direct the power that lay in his reserves. He thought about his encounter with Sheba recently, how he told her there was more – that he would be able to mimic the coats of other wolves, even their very form in the future! He decided that trying to mimic her coat would prove… er, probably more startling than mimicking his surroundings, which he was very used to. He guided the power with his mind, and while he felt for the texture and color of the snow, he found a new path he had not explored before. It was where Koa was, and he guessed it was something he would be able to access if he tried…but he still thought better of it.
While before Epicenter’s coat would gradually melt into different colors, it now quickly took on the color of the snow around him, he was conscious of the angle that she would be looking at him, and used the angles and textures that would be behind him. He kept the color on him, watching Koa carefully for her reaction.
“Of course our quarry will be able to smell me, but at least I can confuse them.”

Koa;
Koa appreciated, instantly, that Epicenter allowed her to scan the area first and chose the direction of travel. Too many times she had met males that didn't think her capable of, well, anything apparently, and bowled her over before she had had a chance to do anything. She hadn't expected as much from her tall, slender, green companion, but to be proven right was refreshing. She glanced over her shoulder at him and beamed at him. He wouldn't know why, he may not even notice—but she had appreciated it, and she had noticed.
As they walked over the snow, occasionally crunchy and in other places slippery, Epicenter suddenly voiced that he had a hidden trick. Koa's ears flicked and she turned, minty-eyes narrowed in interest. He said it may help them catch prey—well, she was listening. Then suddenly, before her very eyes, Epicenter had all but disappeared. Where a moment before had been green and brown fur was now white snow, uncannily accurate, moving as he moved, and even following the pattern that he walked on. Koa's eyes widened and she almost stumbled. "Trick indeed," She murmured, looking him up and down once more. It was fascinating. Even his eyes, brown and green before, were now the color of the snow below them, or even the sky if he lifted his head in that direction. Koa couldn't stop staring. It was as if she was looking through him, truly. She had heard of the White Wolves, but had never seen their gifts in action. "Is that from Sheba?" She asked, her words colored by how impressed she was.
He brought her back to the present when he explained that they would still be able to smell him, of course, but may be able to confuse them. Koa made a sound in the back of her throat. "You certainly will," She shook her head and smiled, looking back at her own feet to ensure she didn't slip. "You'd confuse the Power out of me if you were hunting me, and I like to think I'm a touch more clever than your average lagomorph."
The ground sloped upward then, a good sign that they were closing in on the beginning of their hunt. Koa scanned the base treeline, then glanced to Epicenter to see if he had any ideas about tactic. She didn't want to run the whole show, after all.

Epicenter;
It did not surprise him when a female would give him a second glance or admire him, but the way she had cast a beaming look at him did make him wonder. She had seemed pleased about something, and he wasn’t sure what it had been, but instead of beating himself up on it, took it as it was and nodded in return.
As he watched her and after she had spoken as he changed himself, he noticed her eyes widen and her step falter. He made a move as if he would be able to catch her, but stopped himself when he realized she was fine. His ears flipped back and he consciously let the landscape free, bringing back his natural greens and browns. He would need to save enough of his stamina for the hunt and chase. He smiled and his head rose a little at the mention of Sheba, his last experience being so vivid and recent. Epicenter loved and respected power – and Sheba was the epiphany, including her wisdom, wasn’t wisdom power in itself?
“Yes, it was a gift from Sheba.”
He chuckled at her words, “oh quite more, as I gather.” He said in a quiet tone, sensing that they would probably be closing in on any prey if they were to find any at all. His eyes met hers as she looked back at him, then to the ground and quickly grazed over all the snow in the surrounding area, and paused momentarily at each divot or marking that had been created after the blizzard had fallen. There were plenty of markings where rabbits had dragged their back feet through the snow – but he paused at the smaller divots that he guessed were deer in the near distance.
Keeping low he approached the markings he had spotted, which he had to cross behind Koa and a few yards away. Sure enough there were tracks of one, maybe two deer. He lowered his face down to the markings and looked in the direction that they had gone. He blinked while in thought, and then returned to Koa.
“Alright, well, while deer have longer legs, the snow will slow them down – if we can herd one into deeper snow, it’ll be easier to tire and catch up to and take down.” He paused, taking in her thin, tall appearance – but sturdy. As he was tall, he had not noticed her height. “You look quick, would you like to lead the herding? and if you herd the deer into me upwind of it, I can take it off guard and hopefully surprise it enough to stop it and we can both take it down.” Yeah, it all seemed easy in theory. The snow would make it tricky if it caught their paws the wrong way, but they had enough advantages that he felt confident that a warm meal would be filling his belly soon.
“What do you think? Shall we go find our new quarry?” He prepped by finding the energy that directed into his paw and let him embrace his surroundings. He didn’t take it up quite yet, as he wanted to save it, not knowing how long it would take in finding prey and taking it down. As he stretched out his senses, he found the different shape and flavor of what he guessed was Koa. It was tempting to try taking it on, but having enough sense to keep at the task on paw.

((I mentioned earlier that the sun was dipping, so now I'm sort of assuming it has become night. Just ignore my references to moonlight etc if you'd rather it be day, though )) Koa;Koa lifted her brow gently as Epicenter made a move to steady her if she fell, then checked himself when she didn't. Normally, such a thing might have irked her, but seeing as how he had already had to help her out of a less-than-ideal situation, she let it slide. She was not invincible, after all, try as she might to ignore that fact sometimes. As it was, she didn't comment, but also didn't let Epicenter know she had noticed or really thought anything of it. A smart wolf knew when to stash their pride. She flicked her eyes to him and gave him a smile as his fur morphed back into the now-familiar green and brown. She wasn't sure how gifts worked, but she imagined using them, especially a constant-one like Epicenter's, would have been tiring. "You pay careful attention to the landscape," Koa mused quietly as he met first her eyes, then became enamored with the surroundings. "Are you just a naturally well-thought out creature, or is it just part of being gifted with a power like that?" She sped up to keep up with his long strides, smiling once more. Wolves who were so acutely aware of what was around them were few and far between, but well-worth their weight. Koa checked her sped-up pace as Epicenter slowed and ducked across their trail to a few footprints. He then turned to her and gave her a very well-thought out plan of action. He suggested deer, because it would be relatively easy to tire them out in deep snow, where lighter creatures such as themselves would have the advantage. He suggested that Koa lead the herding if she wanted to, and she once again felt a slight glow inside of her at the prospect of not being underrated. She nodded vigorously in reply when he asked if they should get going. "I'll go up and come back around from the treeline," She said over her shoulder, before breaking into a low-positioned run up the sloping meadow. Her pelt did not quite glow as well in the snow as Epicenter's did, but the moonlight caught her fur and made it glow ghostly white-grey, so it was better than nothing. She knew that deer often slept in overnight, so if she was lucky, she could catch some unawares. Her mind traveled to angry bucks in the middle of the rut and she felt a cold trickle of caution for a moment, but pressed on regardless. Once at the treeline, Koa turned momentarily and was greeted by a view of almost the whole meadow sloping away below her. It was gorgeous, with the moon flashing against the snow and shadowing the far trees. She blinked slowly, appreciating just how nice this territory seemed to be. It would be interesting to see what it was like in the summer, as well. But now, to business. Koa slunk into a line of White Spruce, being sure to stay on the soft, quiet snow as much as possible. She loped along slowly for a few hundred metres, seeing and smelling nothing. The wind was louder here, but still reasonably well-held off by the trees. This was positive, because if she was lucky, even her careful paw-falls would be silenced. She was distracted for a half-second at the thought that the trees would provide a nice shelter for dens, but her distraction quickly evaporated when she caught sight of a dark shape up ahead. She slowed to a walk, beginning to pass closer to the trees in an effort to keep herself hidden from view. As she closed the distance, it became clear that it was a doe sleeping—or perhaps a young, antler-less buck. Miraculously, there were no larger bucks sniffing around, looking for either a mate or a challenge. It was a rare occurrence this time of season, and Koa didn't plan on letting it go to waste. With a snarl and a few well-placed foot steps, she had the deer up and spooked, running downhill in exactly the direction she wanted. She kept close behind, nipping and barking, hoping that Epicenter had made it down the hill and stood at the ready.

Epicenter;
His flicked his ears at her comment about being observant about his surroundings and smiled lightly as he thought about it. He had always been observant when it came to others, perhaps not as much about his surroundings. However, since he had gotten his ability, he had been forced to be observant, and now it seemed like second nature to take upon his surroundings – so much to than it engulfed him when he acted like a chameleon.
He thought about replying to her, but she took his to plan readily and he added a smile to her eagerness. Epicenter was also feeling a new rush and excitement at the prospect of a good meal. While it would not feed the whole pack, especially after he and Koa took part of it, but perhaps it would be good for the younger pups and leaders. He watched her for a moment, distracted by the way the moon hit her coat and accentuated the vine like markings that crawled on her.
Once she was out of site, he seemed to come to his senses, and started down the slope and positioned himself off to the side, so that the deer wouldn’t be able to round the slope and would be forced to either try to climb it or trudge through deeper snow caught in its drift. However, Epicenter didn’t plan on letting it get far either way. Once positioned he let the feeling of his power engulf him and took on his surroundings behind him, so that when the deer approached, it would see just the hill and the opening where he was – that the deer or prey would assume to be its escape.
It was not long before he heard the sound of crunching snow and the soft echo of Koa herding the deer toward him. He crouched and moved a little more as they came hurdling toward him, quietly as he guessed and observed where the deer would try to escape. Deer loved to zig zag, so it made it difficult, but his estimate had been enough. When they were close enough and the deer was headed his way, he changed back – letting the snow and background fly from his coat quickly and made a loud snarling noise and leapt at the prey, not giving the deer any time to be surprised. But surprised it was and tried changing directions too quickly and slid and stumbled into the slope.
Epicenter had managed to have a good grip in his hiding place to spring into action when it came towards him. He had aimed at the neck, but with the stumble of the deer ended up with its shoulder in his teeth, his front claws sliding at its front leg. He knew that if he had been by himself the probability of getting hurt was a lot higher if the animal didn’t go down soon – but he assumed at this point Koa had joined in the fray.

Koa;
As she raced down the hill, her long form became an asset. It was rather dark, and though deer were very sure-footed, it was considerably harder for a shorter-legged wolf. The hill at the treeline was steep enough that Koa really just started leaping downward rather than running, and in this way kept good enough pace with their prey. At one point the deer tried to dip to the right, out of the territory and line of White Spruce, but Koa put an extra bit of power into her next dive and cut it off before it could make the turn, coming close enough to bat it back on course with a paw. The deer didn't like that one bit, and gave an extra burst of speed down the hill, losing Koa behind. Koa made up the distance fairly quickly, and by then the deer had cleared the trees. She didn't see Epicenter until he had flipped back to his regular pelt. Koa would have been given quite a start herself if he had been hunting her, as they had joked about earlier, and she knew (or at least hoped) that the deer would feel the same. It did, turning heavily to the right, but it seemed that the tall male below had calculated for such a possibility.
Koa gave a final leap down the last bit of sheltered and piney forest-floor, landing hard in the snow. Fortunately the drift was packed hard enough and she didn't lose her footing. As she crested the slight mound of crusted snow, she just glimpsed Epicenter latch onto the deer's shoulder. It was a precarious position to be in, one that she was reasonably sure had been an accident and not a lapse in judgement, so she leapt into action as quickly as she could. Her claws dug into the crust of snow below her and with a heavy spring, Koa jumped from the mound of snow and made contact with the deer. She knocked it off-balance enough that Epicenter was not in danger of being trampled, but the doe seemed to get her footing just in time to avoid being knocked down fully. Koa had bitten down on the top-side of the shoulder Epicenter had grabbed though, and as the deer tried to stay upright, Koa threw her weight and body off the side, but managed to keep her hold. With the weight of her body pulling, as well as the force of Epienter pushing from the other side, they successfully downed their prey. Koa's legs had swung out far enough that she hadn't been hurt when the animal fell, but she let go and rolled off to the side just in case. The deer had fallen now, and even though Koa rolled away, she jumped back to her feet in time to react in case Epicenter couldn't make the kill on his own.
Her eyes were alive, and a wicked, determined grin showed off her teeth in the moonlight. They didn't make an awful team.

Epicenter;
Epicenter let go as he felt the deer losing balance and falling from the group work of both himself and Koa. However, he had stayed close (away from the flailing hooves) and had quickly readjusted himself to get his teeth around the sensitive part of the neck and clamped down. There was an instinct within him that overtook him in those killing moments, breaking the windpipe of the creature and shaking his head forcefully back and forth as the deer stopped struggling and finally gave up the ghost. Before the deer had died, he recognized something about his power, as if it were hinting that the deer had something he could use from it. Sheba had mentioned taking on the colors of other wolves, he had not thought of the possibility reached out to more than that – like deer. It had only appeared after he had touched the deer, and he had felt the possibility open to mimic Koa’s coat after their tumble on the hill earlier. It was then that he recognized that perhaps touch would be important if he were to mimic a body.
Once the deer was completely still, Epicenter gently let go, licking the blood that had trickled over the bottom of his maw, cleaning himself as the last bits of adrenalin pulsed through his form. His eyes searched for Koa, and while he was selfish, he was a leader – and he wanted to be sure she had not been injured. He caught sight of her with her grin as she hovered close and he wagged his tail in greeting. Backing away from the deer he bowed his head and motioned to the limp creature. Being part of a pack, occasionally he got to take part of the larger kills that the pack took down, but he guessed Koa was not part of a pack, though he knew his assumption could be wrong, and also guessed that this kill would mean more to her than to him. Well, except that he planned to take the rest of the deer to the close borders of Secluded Sunrise for the pack. He told himself he would not eat much of the deer, leaving most for the pack.
“Pardon my old etiquette, but ladies first.” He said as he had motioned to the beast. His father had been an inadequate leader, but he had learned his manners from him. He also knew there were varying degrees of how wolves liked to be treated – as equals or served selfishly as Epicenter's primal instincts were. Like he had seen in Amora, with her independence. He wasn’t quite sure where Koa was on the spectrum, but loners did tend to develop self-sustaining habits, as he had before he joined Secluded Sunrise.

Koa;
Koa had to hand it to the tall, lithe-formed male: he certainly knew his way around a deer. With a quick bite and few shakes of his powerful neck, their prey was subdued. Koa padded forward, the snow crunching underfoot, and allowed her grin to remain even as her breathing increased now that the adrenaline was wearing down. Epicenter found her gaze with his own, smiling back in his own turn and giving his tail a wag. He then surprised Koa by taking a step back and indicating the limp, still-warm form.
"—ladies first."
Koa's ears flicked and her brow lifted slightly (as much as could be done for a wolf, anyway). Such thoughtfulness was hard to come by in male wolves, and even though Koa didn't need it—she would have just pushed him out of the way to get her fill if he hadn't been sharing—it interested her. "Polite," She mused, taking a few steps forward and tearing into the beast. His eyes were far away as she began to eat her share, and she suddenly wondered why he had been out hunting that night. "Were you planning on sharing this with anybody?" She asked between mouthfuls. It had only just struck her that a wolf such as him, well fed, healthy, and generally pleasant, probably belonged to a pack. This wasn't for sure, as Koa was technically a loner and considered herself all of those things—but it was a good guess. After all, Epicenter had been out hunting close to nightfall in the dead of winter. Somebody, somewhere, must have been waiting on him to bring back a kill. It only made sense.
Koa slowed her bites as she waited for him to answer, not wanting to down the entire thing if he planned on sharing it. As she watched him, her mind started turning. Perhaps the reason he had come to the Wildflower Clearing was that his own pack land didn't hold much food in winter. Her mint-eyes scanned the territory. This area didn't seem to be so starved for prey. Rabbits, deer, probably a pig or two hiding in a den somewhere; in fact, it seemed perfectly situated, too. The wind still howled—a cold, winter's night wind, too—and yet she felt no chill against her fur. Her eyes traveled then to the coniferous trees surrounding them, appreciating once more how perfect the little meadow was. "If your pack held this territory, you'd be home already." She smiled, making her guess known, and unsure of why exactly she had said those particular words. Though it was a good territory, and unclaimed as well. It was curious why no pack had come along yet...

Epicenter;
“I try to be.” He mused in return to her ‘polite’ note, and watched as she dug into the kill. He stepped up beside her to start eating when she paused to ask if he was going to share the meal with anyone. He then paused, as he had been lowering his head to feed, and glanced in her direction. She then spoke an odd phrase, and he quirked his ears forward at attention and looked up at the night sky in thought.
He did not dig into the meal, distracted by an on-flood of thoughts, considering her assumption of him being part of a pack, which he was.
His voice was not without feeling, but it contained less feeling than the rest of his conversation had had. “It would probably feel more like home, too, than the current pack I run with.” Only because he could make something of the pack here, since there was none- yet. He had always dreamt of being the leader of a pack; why not just make it happen? Of course, he would need others to share his dream. He glanced at Koa, she would definitely be the kind of wolf he would consider in a theoretical pack like such. Epicenter was surprised at the way he had spoken, only because it revealed more about him than he usually would speak.
“I was on short travels from my home, and thought I’d bring back a meal for the pups in the pack that I run with. I think I’ll save my share for the pack.”
Epicenter took a slight step back, looking at Koa.
“Have you ever thought of being part of a pack?” He asked, also making known his own assumption. Perhaps he was wrong, but he doubted it.

Koa;
Somehow, when Epicenter stepped up beside her to begin his own meal, it didn't feel wrong. They had only just met. Of course, they had shared a few close and rather-funny moments, but all the same—they had only just met. But he seemed to be a gentle creature, or at least one with a good moral compass as far as strange females went, and Koa liked to think that she too had like-qualities. In any case, as he quietly mused about trying to be polite, Koa shot him a quiet and private sideways smile as they shared in their dual-kill, the grin disappearing when she took another bite.
He answered her question, more or less, with a curious statement of his own. Something about his own pack not really feeling like home. He hadn't started eating yet though, so Koa stopped to face him. She glanced around them at the deep, untouched snow. It must have been quite the cold and lonely existence that he lead, if this reasonably cold and lonely place seemed more homey than his other option. It was pretty, yes of course, and well-situated it was true; but empty aside from themselves, and quiet. So quiet. Epcienter broke the silence, thankfully, by mentioning that he was planning on bringing a meal back for the pups of this so-called pack of his. Koa smiled. "Well, I've eaten my fill," She said, though she hadn't, but was more than willing to give a portion of her own towards a group of hungry pups. "Please." She finished, nodding to the largely-remaining deer. A small grin split her mouth again. "Unless it's too heavy for you to manage, of course."
"Have you ever thought of being part of a pack?" Koa smiled in response, bringing a paw up and wiping the last remnants of her meal from her mouth. "I grew up in a pack," She said, tail waving softly behind her. "A huge, happy, safe pack. They raised me to be the strong wolf that I am, which allowed me to leave them at a younger age than many others. I'm not opposed to joining a pack by any means," Koa continued. "But none have felt right. It would have to be a strong pack, in more ways than just in brawn or numbers. Smart wolves, dependable, kind, independent— I would want to surround myself with like-minded wolves that shared the traits I believe to be my own best. So far, though, none have quite caught my eye." She glanced around once more, for a fleeting minute getting the wild idea that this territory could host just such a pack. It was small enough that not just anybody would be let in, but large enough that each member could pursue their own activities. She shrugged lightly, and brought her smile back to Epicenter's mismatched eyes.

When Koa stopped eating and claimed she had had her fill, he doubted it. But she seemed insistent on keeping the rest. He thought to argue with her, but he also wanted to impress his pack – as his back seat approach to gaining their respect had not seemed to work fast enough for his tasting. His maw split into a grin at her jab and he glanced at what was left of the kill. Her tone was teasing, but there was still quite a distance home, but he would get it to his pack – his pride depended on it now.
He considered her story, not opposite of his own – but his pack had not been large, safe, or happy. It had not been unhappy, but his father’s mismanagement had led to the downfall of the pack, something he wanted to prove he could do better.
At the last of her words that claimed she had not found any that caught her eye. He looked back at her and shifted his expression to mock hurt. “Oh, no? Were you talking about packs still, or wolves?” He had been teasing, but the train of thought was rolling forward and he decided to go with his gut.
“Well, I’ve always wanted my own pack.” He said, smiling again – it was refreshing to smile with ease. He glanced around at the land, then suddenly back at Koa, a wild idea flashing through his mind. He wanted a pack of his own, Koa hadn’t found one she liked – besides, the worst she could say was no. Also, if he were to start a pack, Koa would definitely a wolf he could see starting it with, even if they had just met.
“Why don’t we start our own? Find a few more wolves that share your vision… Voila.” He stepped away from the kill, making a circle and motioning to the snowy landscape with his muzzle. His mind was on a roll, thinking that the kill from their hunt would serve more than he originally thought. Perhaps… perhaps even as a good-bye gesture. Even if Koa didn’t want to, perhaps it was time to make his own way of it all. His voice had had a teasing tone to it, but a flavor of seriousness, and his eyes were alit with a new excitement as he turned back to Koa. Koa, who, could possibly change their lives together.

Koa;
When Epicenter joked that perhaps it had been him (or another wolf) that hadn't caught her eye as of yet, Koa grinned. In the (very) short time that they had known each other, she already got a good feeling from this male. He was straight-forward, perhaps a bit quiet, very professional—but smart, tricky, and with a surprisingly intact sense of humor. Koa lifted her chin slightly, smiling coolly at him. "Packs, to be sure—though the latter isn't untrue either." A light snicker, another quick smile.
Epicenter moved to speak about how he wanted his own pack. He smelled of a pack already, and indeed he had spoken of one—but Koa thought that perhaps he meant starting his own. After what she had just said, and realized about herself, she felt inclined to agree. And then,
"Why don't we start our own?"
Minted-over eyes popped open wide, and the stormy female's mouth fell open—graceful, but slightly confused. Start their own? What, together? As Alphas? Now Koa wasn't sure, and although no rules were set in stone and could be broken if need be—but she was reasonablyconfident that typically Alphas were mates. Surely Epicenter hadn't meant in that way, but her gut-reaction hadn't been unexpected. For a half-moment she saw an image of herself within her mind, next to him, leaning against him... She cleared her throat. Such things were completely unforeseen, and very unlikely—for a number of reasons. However, Koa knew that her facial expression would have been noticed by the male, easily probably, and so she figured she should at least say something.
"An interesting concept..." She mused, colouring her voice with a purposely unconcerned echo. "But how would the politics work? I'll admit, I don't see myself as anything less than an Alphess." Why beat around the bush? If he could speak frivolously, so could she. If he was serious, and she would admit that it seemed somewhat plausible... then there was no sense in speaking anything but her mind.

Epicenter;
Epicenter watched her carefully – her surprise. He wasn’t surprised at her initial shock, but it took him all of the silence to realize it was more than the idea of starting a pack. His wording had been carefully picked out, as he would need her to help him. As he would need her help, he had not wanted to sound presumptuous in doing it all himself. Now, what he had not taken into account, was that the teamwork she would conjure in her mind in them both as Alphas. His eyes softened and he smiled at the thought, he tried to keep a teasing smile off his maw – as he wasn’t against the idea of ruling together, but she seemed taken aback by his forward manner. When it came to affection, Epicenter was more driven by power, and would do whatever it took to get it.
He didn’t mind the short silence, while she may have felt uncomfortable, he was intrigued – but he waiting patiently for her to answer. He wasn’t going to retract his suggestion.
As she spoke, he felt the airiness in her tone compared to before. When she stated that she would nothing less than Alphess, he made an expression similar to one raising an eyebrow.
“Is that so?” He moved in a line in front of her then turned to face her. “And what would make you a great leader?” He had already had a taste of her energy and her level-headed nature… but he wanted to hear it from her. Besides, if they started a pack, he could at least convince her to be Beta, if she was cemented in her idea of being Alphess. He could make it work… and perhaps the idea that had spooked her before, maybe that is what it would take for him to saddle into the Alpha position. He had been patient thus far, he could be patient for a little longer.
ooc// sorry for the wait, i had already written half this post a while ago, and must have assumed that I had replied and forgot about it xD

((All good! Woowoo!))
Koa;
As she had guessed, Epicenter easily picked out her thoughts from the looks on her face. She saw a softening of his eyes, a slight quirking of his lips as he fought to keep a (most likely) smug smile from his own face. She refused to let this reaction of his—calm, collected, perhaps a little bit cocky—muddle with her thoughts, so she merely flicked her chin up slightly and regarded him anew through half-lidded eyes. She had more or less grasped control of herself once more by the time he spoke in response to her.
"What would make me a great leader?" Koa spoke slowly, answering hi, as much as asking herself the same question. It was true, this idea of starting a pack was brand new, totally uncharted; and yet, somehow she felt that, indeed, she knew that were she to embark on the journey, no position would suit her other than the lead. She tilted her head slowly, considering her words. "I think a lot of different things would help me in that, actually. I've always thought of myself as confident, capable, and clever, but with a willingness to learn should the need arise. I won't tell you that I've dreamt of becoming an Alphess since puphood and have all the answers—but somehow when you brought it up, it was like I knew in that moment, that the only place I would fit would be at the head. And I would fit well."
She watched him standing in front of her, ever tall, ever thoughtful and quiet. "Though I have no experience with such things, I think my steadfastness and my drive to be better would help me get there with relative ease."

Epicenter;
He blinked, his duo hued gaze tracing the intricate vine like markings on the femora as she thought about her answer. She was confident, he’d give her that, and she was also seriously considering his question, which he was grateful of. He had not meant the question as a joke, as he was rather serious about starting his own pack. Epicenter’s gaze had fallen to her feet, but rose back to her eyes as she started to list off reasons that would make her a good Alphess. His ears tilted slightly in considering that she had never dreamt of being an Alphess her whole life… He had. There was a moment of scorn and a feeling that she did not deserve to be Alphess if she had not desired to be one. His scorn, which he had carefully kept from his face (as he was skilled in keeping emotions from his maw, especially in business adventures), melted slowly away as she described her feelings when he had brought up the idea. He half wondered if it was because of the idea of working together – but they had only just met, they were strangers – good acquaintances, at best.
Also, Koa had a touch of humility, something that was unfamiliar to Epicenter. While he had a brave heart and would do anything for those in a pack – he knew of his true uncaring and selfish nature. One that had been amplified in his father and had been his downfall.
“Aye.” He agreed as she finished. It wasn’t to just one of the things she had said, but to all of it. Still, he preferred to be Alpha, but whether he was Alpha or she – she seemed like a likely soul who would keep his demons at check.
There was a soft smile touching his maw, something gentle and almost nonexistent.
“I think you would. It’s funny…. No, ironic. I have dreamed of leading my whole life – but as I have seen both good and bad leaders, I think you would do a good job. That is…” He paused, mischief dancing in his green and brown eyes. “If you’d accept me as second in command.” Epicenter’s head suddenly lowered considerably, to just lower to Koa’s. While his gaze and smile was hinting play, his lowered head spoke seriousness.
