Onyx;A nearly-full moon hung over the valley and casted down a peaceful light over the Lunar Meadow. The grass swayed with the breeze and the beautiful white flowers that bloomed in the night were everywhere. Small animals were sleeping peacefully among the flowers, some curled up along their stems which kept them still. There was a small herd of deer in the far distance, grazing under the moonlight. Near the center of the meadow the land raised up into a slightly steep hill, but not steep enough that an animal wouldn't be able to climb. At the top of this hill sat a somewhat large creature, of which was staring up at the moon. Its ears would flick occasionally and its tail would, at times, shift across the ground. With one red eye and one white, the orange she-wolf couldn't help but be there. The meadow was peaceful and calming, and with the moon hanging overhead, Onyx couldn't have felt more comfortable anywhere else. Another breeze blew through, shuffling her orange and black-spotted pelt and making a slight shiver go down her spine, though she didn't mind. Onyx let out a sigh, one of calmness and content. She lowered her head near her chest before lifting it up, pointing her nose towards the sky, opening her jaws, and letting out a soothing, ardent howl. The howl had no purpose, really. But the instinct to sing to the moon had always come to Onyx naturally ever since she was young. At this moment, in this meadow, that wouldn't change. [200+]

Earendil allowed the muscles in his face to relax as the wolf he had been watching howled. This howl was soothing making him lower his guard. He stood from his sitting position and walked to sit within the she wolf's sight. He closed his eyes and threw back his own head, howling along with her. While he felt the call of water more than he did the moon the two went hand in hand. He didn't know this wolf, didn't know how she would react to his invasion of her privacy be he was sick of caring. Maybe she'd tell be ftation friendly and maybe she wouldn't. Either one would be okay with Earendil. At the moment he'd welcome any way he could express his agitation. He wasn't sure if this annoyance stemmed from his shifting moods or just from his frustration. He was still unsuccessful in his quest to become blue again. He couldn't swim as he once had because the sight of water still reminded him too much of the fact that he was pink instead of the blue he had been born.
He wondered about her though since he suddenly found himself overcome with curiosity. W His thoughts ended abruptly and he just focused on the moon and howling to it.

Onyx;
The moon was one of many things that brought comfort to the orange she-wolf. She, as many wolves, felt a connection with it linked directly to her heart. As she howled, she felt free, more than she did any other time. And with this being a full moon, that only enhanced the connection. Her multi-colored eyes remained closed as she howled, but a scent filled her nose that she didn't recognize. She then made a move that most wolves wouldn't have: she ignored the scent. Her howl didn't falter or slow, nor did her eyes open. It was only when she heard another howl join her own that her eyes opened.
She had glanced over to see another wolf, a dark(?)-pelted male, not to far away who was also howling. He didn't seem threatening and, as far as she could tell the only thing he wanted to do was the same as her. Luckily, he was on the side that her red eye was on, so she was able to look over at him from the side without having to turn her head or stop her howl. Even as she looked at him, her howl didn't change. If anything it began to mix with his own, both seeming to form into one howl. She enjoyed that sound, the sound of many howls coming together to form one. As a pup she heard this sound many times and it was very comforting to her. Even now, despite the fact that she didn't know this other wolf, he was still a wolf who was howling. It made no difference whether she knew him. At that moment, they were connected, and that was all she cared about.
It was only when she was beginning to run out of air that her head lowered and her howl came to a slow, departing end. She let out a breath before her head turned to face the male. Both her red and her white eyes were facing him, but her body didn't move, nor did she seem at all alarmed by his presence. She just watched what moves he made.

As the she wolf's howl ended so did his. A breeze blew over them making his cotton candy pink fur wave in the wind the spots of yellow and green standing out bright in the light of the full moon. She looked at him and he looked back. He didn't stare her down or challenge her. That wasn't what he wanted , wasn't why he had finally joined this wolf in her howl. He was here because he had nothing else to do but wait. The nature of his quest wasn't simple and he had to depend on the thought and feelings of another wolf to complete it. His silver eyes flickered and darkened with newfound anger at the wolf who had done this to him. He wished he had handled things in a different way but he wasn't known for his rational thinking. He wasn't what one would call unstable but he also wasn't the most dependable wolf. He shook his head and let out a little laugh. It was after all too late for regret. He wished somehow that there would be something to distract his attention from his thoughts, but the only one around was the she wolf.
She had complete heterochromia, one eye being red and another that was white, which wasn't all that odd here in the valley. Black and orange she reminded him more of a cheetah than a wolf. She moved with the quietness of a hunter but that was all he could tell of her. He wondered what her personality would be and if she would care whether he had joined her or not. Probably not seeing as she hadn't attacked him yet as some wolves were prone to do. That proved she wasn't rash like he could be at times. He stopped and considered that thought. He wasn't necessarily rash, he just didn't know when to keep his mouth shut if he couldn't say something which would help his cause. He shook his head in scorn at himself and dragged his gaze from where it had wandered moments before to focus once more on the she wolf.
He considered his options. On his good days he could carry a decent conversation. On his bad days he couldn't get more than five words out without offending. He didn't care though. "Hello. Lovely howl you have."

Onyx;
The two wolves seemed to stay still for a little while, which the she-wolf didn't really mind. She took in what he looked like and, while his color was kind of girly, it wasn't like she cared. Wolves were whatever color they were born with. If pink was his color, then she couldn't judge, which she wouldn't anyway.
He seemed to examine her for a short time, which was understandable. She was a stranger and so was he, so they both needed to see what the other was like. She watched as his gaze turned away but came back to her before he spoke. It wasn't very much of a greeting; it was merely a hello and a compliment. Usually it seemed to end up that way when a male spoke to a female first, so this wasn't much different.
But now there was one issue. She generally recognized what he said. She knew what hello meant, obviously. She had a general idea of what the other words meant, but she didn't know what they meant being put together into one phrase. All she knew at that moment was that he had greeted her and said something about a howl. All she could really do was assume that his short sentence was meant to be a compliment.
She tilted her head slightly, processing his words for a moment before giving a very simple greeting. "Hello." Her voice, like her howl, was calm and soothing. There wasn't a hint of aggression or questioning in it, though it was short. She honestly didn't know how to respond to his compliment. After he said it, she merely nodded, closing her eyes as she did so, before opening them again when it was over, like an acceptance or a silent thanks of his words.
(Just to make sure you know, in case you didn't before. She was never taught how to talk as a pup, so she just knows what certain words and phrases mean, but doesn't know how to put them together.)

She didn't respond to his compliment but he didn't get offended. He wasn't big on politeness himself. But he suddenly felt restless and wanted a run. He could spend agonizing minutes trying to carry on a conversation or he could actually do something about it. He somehow felt that this wolf wouldn't understand him if he tried to ask her if she wanted to go for a run. She seemed like she could use company though and he didn't feel right leaving so soon. "Wanna run?" He tried the question but just in case she didn't know what he meant he nudged her shoulder gently then ran to the other side of the clearing. He felt stupid, but also felt like a young pup with energy to spare again.
He didn't care what other wolves thought about him and his only goal was to make her understand what he was asking. He ran back to where he had been moments before and sat on his haunches. There was a questioning look on his face trying to gauge whether she understood. His breath was even and in his eyes there was something akin to anticipation. He wanted to run as fast as he could and forget the world as he had when he had howled. He missed the long days he had spent in and by the water but feeling the wind rushing against him was an excellent substitute. Where other wolves talked he preferred to do something.
He reminded himself he didn't know this wolf. He didn't know if she shared his thoughts on doing something rather than sitting around talking but he hoped she did. For some reason he didn't want to run alone tonight. He reminded himself that she might have her own reasons for being here. That maybe she didn't have time to run around like some halfwit and he didn't want to make her uncomfortable. SO he inclined his head, stood up, and looked at her with a questioning look. Poised to began his run through the wilderness.

Onyx;
She once again seemed slightly confused by his offer, but this time what he said wasn't quite as complicated as before. She knew run, of course, so she put two and two together of what he had said. She merely watched as the male as he did his little act, showing what he meant by his words to confirm her thoughts. Surprisingly, a smile formed over the she-wolf's face as he returned. She hadn't made any reaction to his nudging her or coming back, but she did shake out her fur before standing. For just a second she stood still, looking at the male with her red eye.
Without warning, she let out a low growl, not a threatening one but more of a playful one, and turned away from him. She began to run in the direction he had before. As she ran she would occasionally jump through the air before returning to the ground. Her tail swished behind her and her ears her pinned back against her head. She did sometimes look back to make sure that the male was following, but she mostly looked forward, changing directions every so often. Her paws were quick beneath her and her long legs allowed her to glide across the grass, her pelt brushing passed the white flowers that bloomed during the night.
With the moon shining above her, an open field with nothing holding her back, and another wolf at her side, this place was bringing back old memories that brought happiness to her face.

He laughed as the she wolf took off in a sprint and sprung into action after her. He didn't jump into the air like her knowing he'd likely break one of his legs but watched her antics in amusement. He eventually closed the gap between them but was still no match for her since he was much more accustomed to being in water rather than on land. His head even with her front legs he reveled in the wind rushing around their bodies. He didn't know where they were going but he didn't think she did either. He would've ran all night if he hadn't felt himself growing weary.
He realized this but instead of slowing down he pushed himself to move faster and listened to his heartbeat's fast paced thump. He ran just fast enough that his head was even with her head. He didn't try to run in front or pull ahead. He allowed her to dictate where they were going but was even with her instead of behind her. He found himself happy and free for the first time since he had been turned pink. It was a primal instinct for a wolf to run with his pack members but Earendil had never been part of a pack and had never known the feeling of running with another. Thinking about this made him laugh the sound lost in the wind.
He fell back to his previous position and nudged her shoulder to tell her he was falling back. His strides gradually slowed down until he stood still. His sides heaving he collapsed onto the ground and tried to slow his breathing to a normal rate.

Onyx;
It had seemed like forever since the she-wolf had done this. Running through an open field with nothing holding you back and another wolf at your side. The thought made her smile, even if she didn't know her running partner. In all honesty she wasn't sure whether they were going anywhere, but she had stayed in the meadow, turning when the forest would appear in front of her. It wasn't until she felt a nudge at her shoulder that she even remembered that this was real. Luckily, he was on her right, so she glanced over to see the male falling behind. As he slowed down, she kept running for a moment, but came to a stop not too long after, turning to look at him. She was panting, her breathing was heavy, and her heart was beating quickly, but that just showed that she had been having fun.
Her red eye watched as the male allowed himself to collapse to the ground. She didn't blame him. Running as quickly and for as long as they were could wear you out. She walked over to where the male was, going a small distance from him before laying down as well, laying her head on her paws and calming herself. There was still a smile pulling at the edges of her mouth, but it was faint. She let out a sigh, turning her head quite a bit to look back at the other wolf.

Earendil suddenly felt uncomfortable and sat up. He didn't know what to do now that their run was over. He didn't know anything about this wolf which he couldn't deduce by looking at her. He regarded her for a second noticing that she was looking at him too. She wasn't a talker which suited him fine, but he wondered if she even understood him. Perhaps she was just playing dumb out of wariness but he didn't think so. She had accepted his presence too easily, howling and running with him with no worries. If not that then what? Was she really just quiet or was it something else? He didn't know.
"What now?" He wondered if she'd want him to go or if she would even answer him. She seemed to favor her red eye and he pondered the possibility that she was blind in the white eye. He allowed his muscles to relax and met the gaze of her red eye and held it.

Onyx;
A silence fell between the two of them while they rested. To some this would be seen as an awkward silence, which seemed to be the case with this male. But the orange she-wolf didn't really mind it, since there wasn't really much she could talk about anyway. He had sat up and locked eyes -or perhaps eye- with her and asked a question. She considered for a moment, processing his words, though she was unsure of how to respond or really what there was to respond to. She turned her gaze away for a moment, seeming to try and think. Whether she was trying to think of an answer to his question or was just thinking in general was unknown.
She let out a huff, still unsure of what kind of response to give. She turned her eye back to him, seeming to think for one more moment. Her tail then curled around her side, the black-furred end of it seeming to point towards herself. "Onyx." Was that what he was looking for? She didn't really know, but it was better than staying silent. In a way she was concerned that he would get confused by her introduction coming from nowhere, but she knew that doubt was something she needed to get rid of in herself, especially if she eventually wanted to pull off her plan that she had been thinking of for most of her time in the valley.

Earendil smiled wryly at her short introduction. "Earendil." He wasn't uncomfortable with silence so much as doing nothing. His eyes darkened flaring and his tail thumped at the ground. He shrugged for no apparent reason and stood. He may not feel up to anything at that moment but sitting here wasn't going to do him any favors for his mentality. He turned to walk away but before he did called out to Onyx. "I'll be hunting. You're welcome to join me." He hoped Onyx understood that he was offering her to join him if she wished to but couldn't be sure. Even if she did understand him he wasn't sure she would want to. She didn't seem the type to go hungry and he figured she had probably already had her dinner.
He imagined her as she hunted. He had seen her run already and knew that she was graceful. Using that information he deduced that she would probably be a better hunter than him any day. That was fine since he didn't like killing anything and would prefer not having to. In truth he didn't eat very much and his hunts generally ended with him wandering around the forests and brush the prey lived in.

Onyx;
The orange she-wolf heard his introduction and said his name in her head. Earendil. Earendil. She knew she would remember his name, only for the sheer fact that he had said it and pronounced it the way it was suppose to. At least that much was easy to understand. It was just his name. But she didn't quite get the next thing he said. She did recognize the word hunting and guessed that that's what he was planning to do now. It did slightly confuse her that he would want to go hunting right after draining most of his energy in a run, but it wasn't like she could question him. She tilted her head for a moment, seeming to process his words a moment, before she nodded. In a way, she was secretly trying to learn from him. Each time he would speak she would guess and anfssume what the whole phrase meant by knowing one word. Maybe it would help her when she met wolves in the future. At least by then she would be able to say basic phrases like this male was.
Onyx stood from where she was sitting, stretching out her legs and arching her back. After she had gotten the stretches out of the way, she looked to Earendil with a curious look. She did wonder where he planned to hunt, but she didn't really care. In all honesty she didn't want to leave the meadow since the moon was full and all of the flowers were bloomed, but she was always up for a good hunt.

Earendil walked to the edge and set off. He knew there were some small game that lived in the area and was going to find an unfortunate bird or rabbit to have for dinner. His stomach growled quietly and the fuschia polka dots on his cheeks seemed to grow in size because of his blush. He set a leisurely pace to the rabbit paths he had noticed earlier. They were confusing but often led to rabbit burrow. He glanced at Onyx. She seemed as though she was coming with him. He wondered about her and her lifestyle. He wondered if she was part of a pack or if she had was more of a loner. He doubted the latter but who knew. After all, she had been all alone in the meadow howling to the moon.
He took a deep, relaxing breath and let it out again. His mind jumbled and he stopped walking for a second to stare off into space. Shaking his head he resumed his pace and glanced at Onyx again. He wondered what she wanted to hunt and if she had just came with him out of politeness. He had gotten the feeling that she was reluctant to leave the meadow. He picked up his pace changing his slow walk to a slow jog as his nose caught the scent of a quail. They were dumb as dirt but knew when they were being chased. They would make a good chase and that was precisely what he was after. He knew they could fly though so he didn't walk to startle the group because then he wouldn't be able to catch any. As the scent of the birds grew nearer he dropped to a crouch and begin to crawl closer and closer to the animals.

Onyx;
As the male walked off, the orange female followed, allowing him to lead this little hunt. She wasn't entirely sure what they were going to hunt, but maybe he had a general idea. She walked next to him with her head even with his shoulder, glancing around them to see if there was anything interesting. She would occasionally sniff the air, checking for prey and making sure there weren't any other stranger wolves around. Even though he was on the side of her that she could see, she didn't see the occasional glances that he threw her way, so she didn't really acknowledge him much.
He had paused for a moment, but she had just kept walking, still checking. It wasn't until she saw him jog passed her that she turned her head and sped up her walk. She soon caught on to the same scent that he had. She knew that there were quail, or some kind of bird, nearby that they could probably get a hold of. There was a chance that they wouldn't actually be able to catch any of the birds, but she still hoped that they could at least get another run in.
She then lowered herself close to the ground, attempting to remain in the shadows despite her somewhat bright coat. With all of her dark markings and spots, she did somewhat blend in with the darkness, except for the orange. But her good eye remained alert as she scanned for the birds, making sure that she also had Earendil in the corner of her sights.
