MedsZeus:Complete peace and tranquility washed over Zeus as he lay on his side sprawled out in the cool meadow grass. The sun's beating warmth seeped through his silky fur and touched his muscles and bones that lay still in rest. His eyes were still closed, and his breaths came out in slow exhales from his afternoon nap that he had just awoken from. That morning had been extra busy, with a quick hunt before sunrise, and some intense playing with his young nephew Laden. A nice long nap was the next thing on the menu for all three of them. Zeus had left his sister Hemera and her son to rest in the coolness of their den, while he went off to sprawl in the grassy meadow basking in the summer sunshine. Nothing particular was going through the male's head as he lay hidden by the tall grass, life was as serene as it could possibly be. No needs, no dangers, no annoying siblings, could it get any better. The coming of summer had put Zeus in a state of euphoria, nothing else seemed to matter when he had his dearest sister by his side and his favorite little nephew that seemed to be growing bigger and bigger every day. He had long forgotten the feeling of his shaking bones when he had come back from the mountain top, and his encounter with Sheba had been placed in the back of his mind while Laden and Hemera filled the most part of thoughts. Zeus was so caught up in the tranquility of his present life that a greater purpose was hardly important to him, but his calling was still there, itching at him like a wound that was healing. Zeus inhaled sharply and his dazzling blue eyes shot open before he sat up on his side. His fur burned with the heat of the sun as he looked around him, his ears poking up just above the grass tops. Was something there, or was he just feeling edgy because the heat was getting to him? The large stormy pelted male slowly got up with a grunt and vigorously shook his fur out, shaking off any drowsiness that may have gotten to his head. His tongue went out to lick his sun dried nose, and he yawned to fully awaken himself. A deep sigh came next as he breathed in the fresh scents of the flower filled meadow... and another scent, a wolf scent.

Koa;Ah, the jig was up. The male that Koa had been watching (spying on?) suddenly sat up amidst the warm grass and looked around keenly. Koa flattened herself to her stomach before his head turned her way, wondering whether or not to announce herself. She hadn't exactly been intending on starting a conversation, and she had only been watching him for a few seconds—but he had noticed. Koa had gone back to the Wildflower Clearing that day to look over the territory once more. Every time she visited, the idea of Ivory Wild got more exciting, and more formed in her mind. Yes, the field would provide a wonderful place for hunting. The winter hadn't proved bad in regards to prey, as Epicenter had guessed at on her first visit there, and in summer the field seemed like it would be even more fruitful. But then she had seen the tall grass moving and heard the exhaling of a large creature. To the deeper grass she had gone immediately, sharp mint-green eyes scanning her future-territory until she located the stranger. It was a male; at least, she supposed it was due to the wolf's size, with a coat not unlike her own. He was more obviously 'stormy', for she thought she saw lightning-like patterns tracing down his legs, but as her base coat was its own form of stormy blue, she counted them similar. He didn't seem to be a threat, at least not while he seemed so calm and content in the warm sun, but Koa kept it in her mind that things could always turn sour. "Hello," She said softly, deciding she may as well announce herself since he more or less knew she was there. She sat up and fixed the now-sitting male with a charmingly polite smile. "The sun hits this meadow just right, doesn't it?"Yea, exactly right. So right, in fact, that Koa could already see images in her mind's eye of Ivory Wild wolves running around and basking in the warmth themselves.

Zeus:
Zeus' head swung in the direction where he heard the soft greeting of a she-wolf. His ears flicked in irritation and his eyes narrowed for a moment is suspicion. There had been a wolf near by, and he hardly noticed, he should have been more aware. He stood abruptly and peered over at the short shale blue pelted female. Her fur was detailed with beautiful designs and a base coat that wasn't too different from his own, just less... cloudy. The pleasant she-wolf seemed friendly enough for just randomly appearing, but Zeus was still skeptical about a stranger who had probably been watching him even before he awoke. Immediately Zeus thought of Hemera and Laden napping in their den, and the corner of his lip twitched ever so slightly in worry. Was the she-wolf distracting him from a possible attack on his sister and nephew who were unprotected. Zeus pushed those thoughts aside, he was just over thinking things, it was probably the fatherly instincts that had begun to grow in him after Laden was born.
With an electric blue gaze intent on the new stranger, Zeus replied to her innocent comment about the delightful wildflower meadow. "It is." His voice was gruff, but it wasn't unpleasant, it held a common appreciation like the female's had. "And who might you be?" Zeus inquired politely as he took a step closer to the beautiful she-wolf. The sooner he could find out if this wolf meant trouble or not, the better. She may not look evil, but she could also be a wolf in sheep's clothing. His fatherly urge was still affecting his thoughts, but Zeus didn't care to ignore it, it was always better to be safe than sorry.

((Would you be alright if I count this thread as after Koa gets the power of Awareness?))
Koa;
The male didn't seem very happy that Koa had happened upon him. She gave him her most innocent and trouble-free smile, but she understood that sometimes being wary was a good thing. His expression froze though, and his mouth twitched for a moment. He seemed worried about something, but after a moment it passed. He agreed with her in short that the weather was indeed lovely, and then asked who she was.
Well, why not be forward, Koa thought. If this land was truly to be her territory, she may as well get used to the idea of announcing herself to whoever asked. "My name is Koa," She said, dipping her chin and glancing up at the male softly. She tried another smile, hoping this time that he was more willing to accept it. "Don't be upset—I wasn't spying on you; well, perhaps I was. But it was only for a few short moments before you noticed me." A light chuckle left her lips and she ducked her head and dropped her gaze. She probably would have reacted in much the same way.
Even so, a contented sigh broke from her mouth soon after as she listened to the sounds of the meadow all around them; birds chirping, the thump of small critters, the flutter of wings as hummingbirds roamed to and fro. The male didn't seem dangerous yet, so Koa decided not to let suspicion and caution ruin a perfectly beautiful day.

((Go right ahead! I kind of want to see how that might play out in this thread .)) Zeus:The she-wolf didn't even hesitate about sharing her name, she just did it, and then gave him another one of her sweet innocent smiles. Zeus dipped his head as well and replied, "Well met." He wasn't really planning on sharing his name with the she-wolf, but her cheerful and kind attitude was rubbing off on him, so he thought he'd be polite and give her his name as well. "I'm Zeus."Koa must have noticed that he was pretty unhappy with her entrance, because she then went on to try and brighten his mood by telling him not to be upset and that she had been spying on him while he slept. Zeus couldn't help but let out a "Ha" and raise his eye brows in surprise. So she had actually been watching him, and now the question was; what her purpose in doing that was for? With all due respect, Zeus did have to give her credit for being honest, well it seemed she was honest. With her bright personality and innocent smiles, how could she possibly have the purpose to cause trouble? The large gray male was slowly letting his guard down, but his senses were always alert, especially when he still didn't know if Hemera and Laden were positively safe. He managed to crack a pleasant grin and focused on the dull blue she-wolf who seemed to carry an optimistic air about her, and asked, "And what did you hope to find while spying on me, Koa? Or were you honestly out here just to enjoy the sunny meadow?" Tease was clearly in his tone of voice as he smiled at the female with a sparkle in his bright eyes. At that moment, the sun hit his scar from the angle he was at, and he could feel the mark around his eye absorbing the light as it reflected a luminous white glow. The feeling reminded Zeus of his mission, and he almost lost his smile for a moment, but he held it as he lifted his head higher. Zeus would hold off on the main question until later, and if Koa had noticed his scar and who's mark it was, then he may have any easier chance with her.

Koa;
The brawny brute seemed slightly surprised that she had given her name up so easily. Well, names weren't secrets—they were made for sharing. He greeted her in kind, then introduced himself as Zeus. It sounded like a powerful name. Koa smiled and dipped her own head in return. So far so good. He gave a single chuckle when she admitted to having been spying—but he still didn't seem at ease. Cautious was a word that Koa might use to describe him; perhaps wise.
"Or were you honestly out here just to enjoy the sunny meadow?" It was Koa's turn to give a light chuckle in response this time. If she were to be completely honest, she had been there only to enjoy the meadow—check it out, as it were—but he didn't need to know that or her purpose for doing so.
"Well," She started, her tail waving through the air and brushing past a few longer strands of grass. "Would it be so strange if I was here just enjoying the meadow? Isn't that what you were doing?" Her minty eyes flashed and a light smile parted her lips. "As for spying on you though, I don't know that I was hoping to find anything. I came here—to just enjoy the meadow, I might add—and there you were. Why not watch for a few moments before introducing myself?" She rose to her paws and took a few casual steps back and forth. "One can never be sure who they've come across." She sat once more. He was definitely uncomfortable about something; but what could it be? Koa had thought she caught his eyes flick to the treeline for the barest of moments, but the movement of his electric-blue eyes had been so quick she wasn't sure if she had imagined it. Perhaps he was hiding something?
Koa still didn't feel totally at ease herself, so she thought she would give her new gift a try. Sheba had just given it to her, and because the tattoo had appeared on the back of her neck, as long as she stayed facing the male, he would be none the wiser. She blinked slowly, just once, and had Zeus been behind her he would have seen the black eye begin to glow blue-purple. Koa wasn't sure what she could now do with her gift, but maybe it would give her some insight as to what he was worrying about. Suddenly, within her mind, Koa became even more aware of Zeus' presence. Her eyes found him once more, as innocently as she could, and watched him casually. Things she hadn't immediately noticed about him before became more apparent—such as a big swooping scar on one side of his face. She wanted to notice more, but a tingling sensation in her head (almost like she was being tickled) started and with a light exhale, she released her hold on her gift. Her tattoo faded to black once more. She hadn't found out what she thought she would, but it was interesting none the less. Koa had a feeling that this gift was something she could really work at.

Zeus:
The shewolf just seemed to be getting friendlier by the minute as her tail began to slowly sway behind her. Koa seemed like a very friendly wolf, but that could have also been because he hadn’t shown any threatening intentions yet. Or maybe she was just a naturally positive wolf and even if he had been an ill tempered stranger, she still would have given a cheerful smile. Zeus had no firm assumption what her normal personality was like, but her cheerfulness and optimistic smile was easily dawing him in, and he couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to maybe get to know the intricately designed female better.
Of course she still could have something hidden under her fur. Wolves that were oddly friendly, or extremely happy for no apparent reason, often had something to hide, and until he knew that his sister and nephew were out of harms way, then he would trust the pale blue she-wolf. Zeus chastised himself for still not being able to feel comfortable about a small she-wolf who surprised him in the meadow, but he couldn’t help but be a little suspicious. And wasn’t cautiousness always better than carelessness?
”No,” The large gray and black male kept his smile prominent to cover any ill feelings he still felt about trusting her. If he held a casual stance, maybe she wouldn’t notice. He watched her bright minty eyes as he continued his reply, but had to glance at his feet only to find himself looking back into her gaze. ”and you are correct when you say that, but wouldn’t a wolf have the right to be suspicious if another happens upon them and says they were spying on them, even if they didn’t mean trouble at all?” Zeus tilted his head ever so slightly in response to the question he just asked Koa. He wondered how she would respond, and if it would maybe give him some insight into her head if she was actually being honest about her motives or not. There he was going again, still debating with himself about if she was trust worthy or not. He would get over it soon, (he hoped) it was just those fatherly instincts, but then again, Zeus had always been the sceptical type when it came to happy-go-lucky wolves, because he had always been used to his negative grumpy siblings. It was strange, but how nice it was to actually have some joy in his life for once, little Laden sure helped with that.
”One can never be sure who they’ve come across.” ”Again, you are correct.” Maybe he had judged her too soon. As their conversation went on, it only seemed to bring up the obvious that the she-wolf was’t plotting any suspicious trouble at all, and that she was just as cautious about finding a stranger in the meadow as he was. Koa sat her rump down in the grass as Zeus blinked at her beautifully unique eyes that were glued on him for some particular reason. It didnt seem terrible unnatural, but there was a few moments of awkward silence where Zeus didn’t know what to say or do as he stood facing the she-wolf.
”Well,”He broke the silence while sighing and moving a few steps closer but to the side. ”the heat is really getting to me now. Would you care to find some shade with me, Koa?” Zeus could hardly keep from panting as the bright sun shine beat down on his darkish fur, the awkward moment had probably helped to warm him as well.

Koa;
"—but wouldnât a wolf have the right to be suspicious—
Koa's brow rose in appreciation, and she clicked her teeth together a few times. He had her there. She nodded deeply, tilting from side to side as she did so. She enjoyed talking to wolves who weren't all fluff and fancy—who actually had substance and could keep an intelligent conversation going. "Ah, you're not wrong about that, Zeus," She said, using his name on purpose. They weren't quite at the stage of casual first-name use yet, but Koa wanted to show him that: 1, she wasn't intimidated by him; and 2, she really was interested in being as friendly as possible. "However I can assure you, that though your suspicions are fair and, frankly, warranted, that I really did mean no harm." Her eyes danced. "I have recently become quite fond of this territory, and have an interest in looking around it in all seasons—seeing the way the land moves, and what sort of prey is offered here. It was this business that I was tending to when I happened upon you. The reason I wasn't sure, at first, whether I was spying on you or not, was because spying is such a harsh word, and with such poor implications." She stretched her neck back casually, aware that this exposed her, but far enough away from Zeus that she didn't mind; besides, the eye that marked her as one with a psychological power was on the back of her neck, so he wouldn't be likely to see it with such movement. "I had merely stumbled upon you in the grass, and was curious what sort of wolves this territory drew in. As I said, I've grown quite fond of it recently."
What a speech. She almost felt proud of it, but then Zeus caught her staring as she tried to use her gift, and she felt embarrassed rather than proud. Learning to blink and move her eyes around while using it would be a good idea. Though, speaking of Awareness, she glanced (as quickly and casually as possible) at the scar she had noticed that adorned one side of his face. It was a curious scar, and one that she had seen somewhere recently—though where, she hadn't the faintest idea. It was almost like she hadn't actually seen the mark anywhere, but somehow knew what it was...
Koa gave her head a slight shake when Zeus spoke again, then nodded when he mentioned shade. "There's a treeline with towering spruce," She nodded back up the hill a ways. "It should provide wonderful shade!" She turned, swinging her head, and began walking.
As they walked, she glanced sideways at him. "Though I'm just a no-good spy..." She gave a quiet chuckle. "I couldn't help but notice that scar on your face. It's a very curious scar, and I feel like I've seen it somewhere before. Am I able to inquire about it without being terribly rude?"

Zeus:
He watched her reaction closely, and what he saw made him feel... proud. She had definitely agreed with him, and even told him so by word. His chest puffed up at her affirmation and a large smile spread across his face. Zeus never had been told he was right before, not bu his parents, and never by his siblings. Any time he would say something cleaver or smart, it would get shot down or challenged with something better. Zeus felt like a true leader in that moment, he felt like the wolf he was meant to be this whole time. Brave, strong, intelligent, witty... Well now he was just getting full of himself. He flattened his ears for a second of shame before intently listening to the she-wolf who went on to further explain her purpose of coming to the meadow, and how she had randomly happened upon him sleeping. She basically reassured him that he could begin trusting her now, and he was. Slowly, but he had a good feeling that this Koa was a wolf he could trust.
Koa went on to explain more details of her purpose, and this greatly intrigued the large gray male as his eyes leveled with hers and his stance leaned forward. Had she explored every area of the meadow recently? Did she already know about the den Zeus had dug out in the lightning struck tree? Hemera and Laden had already been there for awhile that if Koa had been checking this meadow out often, she would have noticed a scent by now. This new information caused Zeus to tense up a little and forget the slowly growing trust he was just feeling towards the young minty eyed she-wolf. He looked away, and was completely lost in his pondering when she finished her sentence. Koa had said that she was interested in the territory, and Zeus remembered that the Wildflower Clearing was an unclaimed territory that he had made a den for his sister in. Could this she-wolf be wanting to claim it and force them out? If that was the case, then she would probably have a squad of founders with her that could easily cause harm to his sister or little nephew.
Zeus grumbled to himself, he had to seriously stop this. Koa was an honest wolf that said she meant no harm, and Zeus would take her word for it. A wise wolf was never double-minded but sure in his decisions, and Zeus decided to trust the she-wolf as he shook away his uncertainty and refocused on the sky toned female in front of him. He greatly hoped that his mind wasn't totally readable through his actions, which in the earlier part of the conversation kind of seemed like it was.
"Interested in the territory you say?" Zeus looked up and around at the clearing that they were in the middle of. "I myself have been around this place for some time as well, and it is decently suited in all areas." With a small smile, the male returned his gaze on the she-wolf after finishing his look around him. He thought if she was going to be honest about her intentions, then he would too. It was just polite sense in the growing of trust.
"Oh good." Zeus added after Koa had mentioned where she knew where a good shade spot would be. She immediately set of in the direction, a little bit further to the right and they would have been at the lightning struck tree where Hemera and Laden were hopefully safely napping away. Zeus casually followed her, his tail sweeping from side to side in unison with his body. When she had turned, a dark spot on the back of her neck had caught his eye. At first he thought it was a large insect of some sort, but it was more apart of her like a burn or black scar-. Zeus almost froze in his step as he realized that it was a power mark from the white wolves. He quickly gained his cool back, and fell into step with her, acting as if nothing had happened. She of course went on to surprise him again by asking about his mark. She said she felt like she'd seen it before... Zeus' mind went strangely calm all of a sudden, and it reminded him of the moment he was up on the mountain at Sheba's cave. If Koa had any idea or remembrance of the symbol of the mark he boar, then she would be a part of Sheba's holy alliance. No follower of Geist or Taboo would know the mark of Sheba.
Zeus sighed deeply, his mind was silent of all the questions and distrust he might have normally felt. There was almost like a link that he felt between the two of them as they walked side by side, and he only needed to uncover the last layer of dust to make the connection. "My mark?" Zeus finally looked back at Koa with a solemn expression. She would have clearly noticed that he said mark instead of scar. "Just like yours it tells a story." He motioned his nose to the back of her neck. "I know you've already met the giver."
((I wasn't sure if you wanted the big spruce to be near the den or not, soo... I just did that.))

Koa;
Zeus looked away as Koa finished speaking about the territory. Whatever was behind his eyes, he was thinking hard. Koa was about to question him, when he looked back up and seemed to come-to once more. She watched him closely, but then shrugged it off. Perhaps just listening hard to what she had been saying. He repeated her interest in the land, and disclosed that he had been in it for some time.
Koa's mind started running, though as they walked she was careful to keep her chin up and her eyes soft. He had been here for a while, had he? What would that mean for him, then, when she came to claim it in a few seasons' time? For she would, she knew that now—it was just a matter of the politics of it. She knew nothing about Zeus—for all she knew he had a family that was living here as well. She could smell other wolves on him, so who knew? But he had agreed with her that it was decently suited for living, and she had to agree with him there.
As they walked and she asked him of his scar, his face changed into one of solemnity. He mentioned hers, which he had obviously noticed, and then referenced Sheba. Koa nodded slowly, side to side, now unconcerned with showing the back of her head or not. "Yes, Sheba I've met." She smiled to herself. She had wanted a water-based power completely, up until the goddess had opened her mind to the way of things. Psychological powers, Sheba had told her, would help her in the future. Koa had not understood then, but ever-since her idea for Ivory Wild had started forming, she think she knew what the goddess had been hinting at. "Awareness, that's my gift. And the tattoo appeared on the very back of my head. Always watching, I suppose." She chuckled. "It's quite interesting, really. I'm still not quite used to it, but if I focus I can sense the presence of other wolves or prey nearby." As they walked, her eyes flickered closed and her tattoo started glowing purple.
Her brow knit together, as she hadn't tried activating this part of her gift before. There was a twinge of pain, but she already felt stronger than when she had used it on Zeus moments before. She wasn't sure exactly what she was even looking for, when suddenly— Koa's head swiveled towards the right, eyes focusing in on the visible part of a lightning-struck tree (only the top of which was visible). "I think there's something over there," She said, redirecting her paws without a second thought. "Perhaps some prey?" She knew one day that she would be able to tell the two apart, but for now all she was aware of was a consciousness—maybe two—that was located around where she was now headed.
((No need to tag or bring anybody else in; Zeus could be scared and it turns out it's actually prey or something. Maybe Koa can find the den empty and then admit to Zeus that she is going to claim the land, and will have to kick out any squatters, etc? xD ))

Zeus:
"Yes, Sheba I've met." Zeus' ears flicked back for a second but upon hearing the name of the white wolf, a deep sigh of relief spread through his thoughts. So Koa was of neutral alliance. Zeus had wondered that the moment he first saw her, and now his question was answered. With the knowledge he now knew of Koa, it gave him an easier feeling about the whole situation that he had previously been so skeptical about. Zeus could sense a small bond of trust begin to grow, but he wouldn’t base it off of words only, he would watch her. Actions always speak louder than words. Of course any wolf knew all three of the white wolve’s names, and Koa could have simply said that Sheba was the one she met when it was truly Taboo, but the small slate blue and gray female had so far proven to be honest enough that Zeus wouldn’t be too hard on the subject.
Zeus turned his head slowly at Koa, looking down at her from his taller height. She had a peculiar smile on her face, as if she were recalling a certain memorie that she had and was playing it back in her mind. ”Awareness.” She spoke up as Zeus walked beside her. He had known there were many gifts that the White Wolves so graciously gave to the mortals, but he didn’t know all of them, and awareness sounding like one of those. Koa went on to explain where her power mark had appeared and that he had already spotted it, but then it almost seemed like she had read his thoughts, because she next explained what type of power awareness was. If she hadn’t told him what her power actually did, Zeus would have guessed that it was mind reading or some telepathic psychological power. Awareness was indeed a psychological gift, but it was the power of sending other’s presence, or that’s what she understood so far. A soft twang of regret touched the male’s conscious as he reminisced on his own trip to the white wolves. He could have had a great power of his own to learn how to master like Koa, but he had acted foolishly, and was now paying for his ungrateful pride.
A small smile of appreciation and interest spread over Zeus’ maw as he watched the she-wolf close her eyes and attempt to touch her power and use it. Her face clear showed concentration, but then she snapped her eyes open and mentioned that she felt something over to the right. A sinking feeling entered Zeus’ gut as he guessed that she had probably felt Hemera’s or Laden’s presence. He kept his smile however, and actually swerved off in the direction that Koa had already started to head. ”Are you sure you felt something?” Zeus was only a little worried if she would actually find the den, and he would have to use force against the small female, but his worry was only putting unrealistic images in his head of what might happen. However the situation would play out, Zeus was ready, but for now he would play along and maybe her awareness had only sensed a squirrel or something, there were always birds or small critters scuffling in the tall grass.
Zeus followed close behind the focused she-wolf, maybe too close, but his large mass had already consciously shrunk to a smaller size in height as if he were sneaking up on a prey. Even his steps were now falling silent compared to before when a noise from his giant paws wasn’t crucial. He tensely waited to see where Koa’s awareness powers would take her, what would she find beyond the tree line.
((At this point, I honestly don’t care what she sensed, whether the wolves in the den, or a prey. It would definitely be a better start to her telling him that she is here to claim the territory soon, if they find the den. Then the topic of him possibly joining the pack might come up and they can discuss all that))

((Good idea, Blood!))
Koa;
Though Zeus' paws turned in the direction that Koa had started heading, he questioned if she was sure. One ear flicked, but she pushed it aside. She had to get over her little irritations, especially if she was going to try her hand at being an Alphess. Leaders who allowed no questions were foolish—too proud. Koa did not intend to be a leader like that. She looked back and nodded simply to Zeus, once, and gave him a smile.
"I think so. I'm not sure how to differentiate what I feel, but there is definitely something over there drawing me." She looked forward once more and climbed up and over a flowered hill. She was aware of the large male close at hand behind her, but he seemed to be in a hunter's stance, and staying together until they found prey was clever, she supposed. He certainly could walk quietly, she had to give him that. Her tattoo flared once more as she made double-sure, and then her legs sped up and took the duo up and over the last hill between them and the treeline. She let go of the power as she felt a presence there, more sure of it now.
Koa's eyes found a large old spruce that looked to be lightning struck, and upon closer inspection, there seemed to be some digging around the base of it. She trotted up, and began sniffing around. It was fresh, and she thought that she could perhaps identify two different scents, maybe three, one of which seemed vaguely familiar. "Do you think—" She started, about to ask whether or not he thought the inhabitants of the den had just run off as they approached, when a rabbit bolted out of the underbrush and disappeared into the white spruce. Koa inhaled sharply, taking a step back in her surprise, only to bump into Zeus. She spun on her heel and raised her brows. "Well I guess that answers that question," She finished with a final nod.
"It's all for the better, anyway," She said conversationally. "I'm starting a pack, and this is our desired territory. My desired territory, anyway. That's why I was here, looking it over in summer." She smiled, feeling confident that she could explain her purpose to the male, for after all, he had no ties to the land. "I would hate for my first duty as Alphess to be evicting a wolf or two." She chuckled, shaking her head and leaning back onto her haunches.

Zeus:
Koa had now assumed a crouched position as well and was stalking closer and closer to her prey. Zeus’ ears were forward, assumably on the prey as well, but instead, they were intent on the female hunter in front of him. Focused on her every move and trying to read her thoughts and intentions, but it was futile. Her power mark suddenly began to glow again, and Zeus wondered if she would be able to read the senses better now that she was closer.
The den came into view, and the large gray male watched as Koa spotted it as well and immediately dropped her nose to investigate. Upon seeing the entrance, Zeus figured that Hemera had taken Laden to play in the woods, or to find a stream, and that gave him some relief about the current situation. Zeus now stood normally with his tail resting at his heels and his eyes following the sniffing Koa. His secret had been discovered, and he was prepared to give the truth to the minty eyed she-wolf.
Koa was just about to ask him something when a hare suddenly burst from hiding and dashed away in fear. Koa seemed more surprised than the rabbit as she stepped backwards and rear ended the unmoving male. Zeus’ expressionless face met the quick spin around of the female as she voiced her guess. Apparently Koa had thought that her awareness power had only spotted the hare, and maybe it had, but it was all too clear what Zeus needed to say. However, before he got a chance to do that, Koa herself had spoken up about her own intentions about the territory, and wanting to claim it soon. He figured that’s what she had been hinting at when he first had spoken to her, but it was suddenly a big problem for Zeus, and not just a minor hurtle he could jump over. Hemera a Leden had a den in this territory, and Zeus himself had also been calling it home. If Koa was to claim it as her territory, the three of them would no longer be allowed to stay there, and Zeus didn’t want to uproot the small family and force them to start a new life somewhere else. At least not when Laden was so young.
Zeus was surprised when he didn’t start to panic about the situation, his expression was calm and his nerves were settled, but he knew what he had to do. He stared down at Koa, and by now she must have know that something was up, because he hadn’t spoken that whole time. ”Good for you Koa.” He droned with a relaxed posture, thinking that Koa might have to do just what she didn’t want to. ”But I’m afraid that’s just the problem. My sister and her pup occupy this den that you’ve discovered.” Zeus didn’t know how to continue, his eyes looked into the minty gaze of the female with an honest plea. He didn’t know how to word what he wanted to say, but he knew he had to get something out. ”I trust you to be a respectable wolf, and I’m sure someday a great alpha, but…” Zeus dropped his gaze, and it slowly found it’s way from his paws, to the dugout lightning struck tree. ”Is there another way…?”

Koa;
Zeus behind her (or rather, next to her after she had jumped in surprise from the rabbit), didn't seem at all shocked to find the den. In fact, he almost looked as if he had expected it to be there. She glanced more closely at him, seeing in his eyes that he was thinking something over; even slightly troubled at her words. But why—? Ah. His family lived here. Supposedly it was his sister and nephew that lived in the lightning-struck tree. His voice proved just how much he cared for them, Koa was quick to note. Zeus said he trusted her to be a respectable wolf, and a great alpha someday, which she appreciated him saying—but then he shifted, looking awkward for a minute, and asking if there was any other way. She assumed, of course, that he meant any other course of action that would result in her not evicting his kin.
Koa looked back to the den, her mint-eyes narrowed. "Your family, you say—?"
Well, obviously she could do nothing about it just then, her asking was, at this point, only out of sheer curiosity. She was a long-time from claiming the territory. But she did tilt her head slightly, looking it over. The den itself didn't look very old, a season at most, so Koa wondered if it would really be all that bad if she were to evict them pair sometime in the future. It wasn't as if there weren't countless other comfortable options throughout the valley. Besides, wolves changed dens all the time. She could even probably find another lightning-struck tree for them, if they proved to be stubborn.
"Another way—to what, exactly?" She asked, looking back to Zeus, wanting him to state his desires out loud. She wasn't challenging him, but also did not want to make any false assumptions. She didn't know this male, but if he proved to be a reasonable wolf, and so far he had done, then perhaps he wouldn't be so bad to have around; that is, if he didn't hold a grudge related to whatever Koa decided in this matter.

Zeus;
Zeus wasn’t sure if Koa was upset about what he had just said, or not. Either way, she didn’t seem too happy about it as she eyed the burnt spruce with narrowed eyes. Zeus’ ears flattened for a short moment of hard thought. If the situation came to it, he would protect Hemera and Laden with force, but he didn’t want it to have to come to that, especially if he would be going against his own neutral allianced wolf. What would Sheba think if he was turning against his own neutral kind, would she even hesitate to strike him down once and for all.
Koa turned back to Zeus with a softer, more curious expression, yet her words still held sternness as she asked for more detail about his question. His grey ears flipped forward once more, and his paws shifted beneath his large mas of muscles. How was he going to try and convince this soon-to-be alpha to hold back on claiming the territory, so he could help raise his nephew until he got older? That was the stupidest thing for him to ask at that moment, to a wolf that he just met, about a request that would only be benefiting him, and in any sittuation like this, the other would ask what was in it for them. So now the question was, how could he fulfill his own wishes, but still be helping Koa out without having her hold back on her dream territory. And what Zeus had figured out of Koa, this had been on her mind for a while, and wasn’t just a small dream.
”I understand you must be close to being ready to claim this territory,” Zeus began slowly, avoiding eye contact, until he found his respect (courage) and peered down at the dark green patterned she-wolf. ”and I’m sure you don’t want to delay your progress any further, but my sister has been through many hard times lately, and I would hate to have to drag her to a new home in the middle of raising her pup.” Zeus paused and took in a slow breath, blinking and turning away for only a moment. ”Is there another way for my sister and I to stay here in this territory, occupying this den, at least until her son is older?” His electric blue eyes stared into her bright minty ones with a deep longing that showed his determination. Surely she would know how important family is and the sacrifices one is willing to make for them.
Zeus all of a sudden caught an idea on the warm sunny air and his eyes sparked with a new hope. What if he offered himself as part of the deal trade, surely Koa wouldn’t turn him down now. ”Koa, would you except me to be a part of your pack? I could be a great warrior or hunter, protecting your pack along with my sister and her son who would continue to take refuge in this den until my nephew is old enough to make his own decisions.” Zeus gave the she-wolf a small grin. Yeah maybe he hadn’t thought the whole idea through very well, but it was definitely worth a try.
((Sorry, I wasn’t really feeling it. I hope it makes sense.))
