Chhaya was trying to find a wolf willing to help her with her plan. She could ask one of her friends, but Kiran knew all of them and would realize what she was doing as soon as he saw them. No, she needed a stranger, one who didn't know anything about her or Kiran and one who would be able to lie. She wasn't sure why she had thought she would find one in the redwoods but she had. So here she was trying to find a wolf to help her with her master plan to turn Kiran back to her side. She had to find a way to get rid of Juno and this was the only solution. She kept walking, weaving in between the trees, before she stopped.
This was the spot. She felt it in her marrow. She would find the wolf she needed here and then she would be able to ruin Juno in her brother's eyes. She sat and looked around, absorbing her surroundings. The trees were red but that was to be expected in a place called the redwoods. They were tall and appeared old. She looked up into the trees scanning them for anyone who might listen in on a conversation. She didn't know what she was thinking. She didn't even have anyone to have a conversation so nobody could really listen in on one. Unless she suddenly went off the deep end and started to talk to the trees.
She looked around and then up once more. "Hello?" The sound of her voice echoed off the trees and startled a few birds from their nesting places. In different circumstances this would be a good place to go hunting for some birds but at that wasn't why she was there. She had to get a grip and focus so she called out once more. "Anyone here?"
