The sun glows brightly in the sky, not a cloud in sight. It is an arid summer day; Nymph had begun it with the plan to go for a swim in the Amoux Creek. Now she finds herself scaling the mountain to the dens of the white wolves. She always finds herself flouncing from plans, though she doesn't really mind. As long as she gets something interesting done, she is happy.
Today, her change of direction had come from her seeing how close she was to the mountain. She had remembered the many stories of the White Wolves that were told to her in her pup days and just turned in her tracks and continued walking. She has to admit, she's always wanted to see a White Wolf. So far, she's been a careful hunter and she doesn't tend to get into fights, so she's never gotten to see White Magic. She marvels at the idea of Goddesses just up the mountain, it's almost unbelievable! Though, the many stories she's heard that all share likeness and the powers that some wolves possess is enough to convince her that it is reality and not myth.
On the note of powers, oh, she hadn't really thought about it. She had been so caught up in the idea of meeting a White Wolf that she had completely overlooked the reason that most wolves traverse this mountain. Why don't more wolves come here wishing to only speak with the Goddesses? Why do they always have to come for selfish reasons? The White Wolves must get bored and lonely! Though, they are Goddesses so she isn't sure exactly how they function. In truth, she isn't sure how she functions, or why for that matter! So why would she know anything about the White Wolves!? Nymph shakes the thoughts from her mind. The White Wolves may be Goddesses, but they're still wolves, and wolves can get bored and lonely. She decides that she will go to speak with Sheba, and if the Goddess believes she is able and ready to have a power, she won't just push the offer away rudely. If no power is brought up, she is fine with that too. After all, she did scale the mountain to meet Sheba, not ask for a power.
Nymph exits her thoughts, finding herself at the mouth of Sheba's den. She peers in, curiosity getting the better of her. Her orange eyes stretch rather wide at the volume of it. Youthful wonder washes through her, making her feel like she is a pup, crawling from the den again for the first time. The world suddenly feels ginormous and she feels minuscule. The feeling nearly sweeps her off of her paws, but she recovers, shaking it away. Her lips now form a giddy grin and she stands a little straighter.
"Sheba? May I speak with you?" She asks politely, still unable to quell the budding excitement from her voice.

Sheba;
"It seems you already are," A snorting laugh echoes through the darkness of the cave before Nymph. The female, Nymph, will feel herself being propelled backwards, but very gently, until she is standing a few more feet away from the cave. In the place where she just was, Sheba appears as if from thin air. "Oh hello." The goddess adds, as if she had been speaking to herself before and hadn't noticed the female until just then. Sheba did a quick read of the female's mind, seeing her thoughts and her reasons for climbing the mountain that day. My, my, my. How very interesting these mortals could be. Sheba let a big, stupid grin spread across her face, and her eyes changed colour for a moment, mirroring Nymph's coat.
"Other than speaking to ask to speak with me," Another snort. "What brings you to my humble mountain home this fine day?"

'It seems you already are.'
A voice bounces into Nymph's ears, followed by laughter. The orange she-wolf feels herself being pushed backward, it probably should've startled her, but all it does is make her fur spark with an electric kind of excitement. She lets herself be pushed further, knowing she probably couldn't stop it even if she tried, ending up back where she was standing before she peered into the cave. Perhaps she did walk a little too far in, she just couldn't contain her wave of curiosity. At least she didn't walk in like she owned the place, she's heard stories from other wolves on how they almost got flung off the mountain for doing that.
'Oh hello.'
The voice of Sheba sounds again, causing Nymph's thoughts to break apart. She looks up and blinks, the goddess in question is standing where Nymph was only a few seconds ago. Nymph's eyes widen slightly. She hadn't been expecting Sheba to be so huge. Well, she isn't quite sure what she was expecting, so maybe deep down she was expecting it? She blinks a few more times, rather unsure if she should bow or not. Is that proper etiquette for meeting a goddess? Perhaps, she isn't really sure. She does it anyway, it never hurts to be polite. Now she sounds like her mom, that's honestly a good thing, her mother is a nice enough wolf. Nymph raises herself up and smiles. If she were any younger, she'd probably be jumping in excitement, but she has enough of a rein on her emotions that she won't let that happen.
"Hello Sheba, it is an honor to meet you!" She watches as Sheba grins widely, her eyes turning a familiar color of orange just for a second. Nymph realizes they are the color of her own coat. She gives herself a quick once-over to check.
'Other than speaking to ask to speak with me,' The goddess snorts. 'What brings you to my humble mountain home this fine day?'
"Well," Nymph begins. "In all honesty, I had no plans to come here this morning. I was just going to swim, I saw I was close to the mountain and thought why not?" If a wolf could shrug, the she-wolf would be. "I also thought that you might be bored or lonely, none of the wolves who come up here ever really wanna talk. Or, at least, from the stories I've heard." Nymph flicks her ear softly. "Of course if you'd rather be alone today and are busy, I understand completely. If that's the truth, I apologize for bugging you." The orange she-wolf dips her head slightly, then looks back up at Sheba.

Sheba;
What a pleasant, pleasant surprise. Sheba occasionally didn't delve into mortal's minds when they came to visit, and that day had been just such a time. Therefore, she was happily surprised when it turned out that Nymph had not come to her for the mere reason of begging a gift. In fact, it seemed that a gift wasn't even in her thoughts. Just a mortal, wanting to know more about the valley, and get to know her deity. A wise decision, Sheba thought. "Nobody ever wants to just talk," Sheba grumbled, glancing at the orange female. "A smarter wolf than me might even wonder if you didn't have a hidden agenda, and actually wanted more than just a conversation, as well..." The sky seemed to darken for a moment and Sheba almost seemed to grow...
But then the White Wolf grinned and the sky brightened once more. "Fortunately for you, I'm not in the habit of often employing my awesome and staggering intellect, and would therefore love to talk." Now what did mortals talk about, exactly? "So." She started off, slightly awkward. "How's about that over-arching knowledge that one day you'll cease to exist treating you?" No... that probably wasn't right.

'Nobody ever wants to just talk,' Sheba grumbles. 'A smarter wolf than me might even wonder if you didn't have a hidden agenda, and actually wanted more than just a conversation as well."
Nymph's ears lower slightly as the sky darkens and the white goddess... grows. She looks around in muted awe for a few seconds, then blinks.
"I don't really have one of those agenda things, I never do." Nymph has a hard time keeping secrets, well, unless the situation is dire. Even then, she's found herself somewhat, loose-lipped. The sky brightens and so does Sheba, causing Nymph to also brighten and smile wide.
'Fortunately for you, I'm not in the habit of often employing my awesome and staggering intellect, and would, therefore, love to talk. So. How's about that over-arching knowledge that one day you'll cease to exist treating you?'
That question gives the orange she-wolf much pause. Her smile falls slightly and she tilts her head to the side, screwing up her face. She doesn't normally think about her impending doom. She's one to take life one day at a time and not really think about consequences til she's at the end of whatever path she's led herself to. Of course, she does feel a prickle of fear, no wolf is without at least an inkling of the fear of death.
"That's certainly a conversation starter. Let me think..." Nymph chuckles softly and then sits, her tail swishing slightly as she mulls over an answer. After a few moments, she looks up at Sheba "....I guess it's, rather terrifying when you put it that way.... but hey, I'll take whatever fun I can get out of this life one day at a time and you know, keep hoping there is an afterlife?" That's what normal wolves say right? She honestly doesn't mind what happens after she dies, she'll be dead and hence she won't mind, that is if there aren't ghosts and she just becomes part of the earth. "When I die, I hope I help a tree grow, therefore I'd then be apart of that tree right? That'd be cool." She nods to herself. "Well unless it burns, that would not be fun for me or the tree.... or would I not feel pain because I would be a tree? Do trees feel pain?..... Anyway." She shakes her head. "How, if I may ask, is being immortal treating you? I bet you have tons of stories!"

Sheba;
Sheba actually believed Nymph when she said that she didn't have a hidden agenda. It made the goddess smile, for she was impossible to lie to—though many tried. It was to Nymph's credit that her innocence and good nature were evident. She felt the appropriate amount of fear when Sheba let an ounce of power drip through, but also allowed herself to fall back to ease when Sheba herself did so as well. That was good too. It was awful when wolves cowered like pups the second things started to get fun.
"That's certainly a conversation starter." If Sheba had been mortal, her face might have fallen. Being immortal, however, she merely snickered. She could sense within Nymph how strange the question had been. Ahh well. Can't win em' all. She gave a reasonably clever answer, sweet—like herself, perhaps. Sweet and clever. "It must be terrifying. I've never had that sort of fear." Sheba sniffed, but her teeth flashed in a smile. "And as for hoping there's an afterlife; well, I won't spoil anything for you." This time she winked, her eyes flashing the same orange as Nymph's coat for a moment before fading back to an light blue shimmer.
"As for becoming a tree," Sheba yawned, snapping her teeth towards the nearest sentinels. "I think that's a very noble thing. The trees are better than us in many ways. And they absolutely feel pain." Her chest swelled and she held in a chuckle. "I could turn you into one if you like."
Then Nymph posed her own question, and Sheba actually had to think about that for a minute. She was all-knowing and seeing and all of that good stuff—but when on the topic of herself, it became a little more difficult. She couldn't just read her own mind and know the answer to the question. "It's all I've ever known," She said, flicking her tongue out and dragging it across her nose. "And I have endless stories. Stories that would make your gut bust with laughter, and stories that would make your fur curl!"

'And as for hoping there's an afterlife; Well, I won't spoil anything for you.' Sheba winks at Nymph, her eyes again flashing the color of the mortal wolf's coat.
Nymph smiles slightly. Sometimes it good when things are kept a mystery, surprises can be exciting, even somewhat morbid surprises. Or perhaps, morbid surprises are only exciting to her. She tilts her head as Sheba begins to speak about being a tree. She nods in agreement. Trees stick to one spot and watch over it, helping their environment around them without much want for something in return, much unlike Nymph herself. Maybe this is why Nymph wants it, it'll be her finally settling down, finally giving back, even if it takes death for her to do it. Nymph's ears go back when Sheba tells her that trees, in fact, do feel pain.
"Poor trees..." She is definitely thinking about all the trees she's seen scorched by fire or lightning bolt, scratched by wolves, or felled by fierce storms.
'I could turn you into one if you'd like.'
Nymph's eyes widen slightly. Really?! Well, of course, that is a stupid question, Sheba is a goddess after all. She shifts on her paws slightly, looking around the cave mouth.
"It'd be rather hard to get in and out if you turned me into a tree here. I bet a lot of the wolves who come asking for powers would be quite confused though, it'd be funny! Especially if my bark and leaves were still the color of my pelt!" The orange female chuckles at the thought of a wolf walking to Sheba's cave only to see an orange tree taking up part of the cave mouth. She then tilts her head thoughtfully. "Though I do have some more life to live and adventures I want to go on before anything like that, if that's okay with you..." She smiles at Sheba, then listens to the White Wolf's answer to her question. She nods and smiles wider. "I love stories! I hope to have more to tell in the future. Hmmm, by any chance, would you be willing to share one of your own? Then I can share one of mine!" Nymph wags her tail excitedly at the thought of sharing stories.

Sheba;
"Fire indeed," Sheba said, nodding along with Nymph's unspoken thoughts. It was true, and it was one of the curses of being an all-knowing goddess. The trees were perhaps the most innocent beings in the world. They did not impose, they did not intrude. Their progress was slow, shapeable, and a benefit to everything around them. But the world could be so harsh to them. Only Sheba and her sisters knew of man and what they could (or would) do to the trees. She shuddered to think about it. At least the wolves had no axes, saws, or hatchets. Nature was hard enough. But that was the way of the world. A tree split by lightning, reduced to but en empty shell, became a host for countless other things. And so life continued.
Nymph then continued speaking about Sheba's ability to turn her into a tree, and gave her a half-decent answer as to why she shouldn't. Sheba snorted in laughter. Well, it was a good argument. Maybe not today; however, she said she would like to live a little bit more before being turned into a tree. Sheba's eyes widened. "A goddess will hold you to your word, you better be careful." She chuckled. Then Nymph asked for a story. Sheba tilted her head side to side. "What sort of story? Ones with gore? Romance? Adventure?" She turned her head sharply, one tooth twinkling. "Comedy?"
