MedsCodex;The day is warm, well, warmer than usual, the sun is high in the sky with no signs of clouds causing a bright, glimmery shine to be reflected off of the frozen blanket that covers the flat ground. Most of the shorter grass is packed down while some taller blades slouch, slightly wilted and with yellow colors spreading across them due to the cold temperature. The flowers that once covered the field bright and beautifully in the spring are no longer visible through the snow. The land is white but a contrast to the bright surroundings sit in the center of the area with a dark-green spot. The dark-green female sits in the middle of the snow-covered clearing. Her eyes are closed, the lack of vision heightening her other senses. The snow feels colder beneath her paws and the air has a pleasant feel to it. It's not too dry, so she can still breathe comfortably, but it's also not too humid, so it doesn't feel much colder than it actually is. A small smile makes its way onto Codex's gentle features and she tilts her head up to the sky allowing the sun to wash over and warm up her face. She's grateful to have found a place such as this. It's safe, sheltered, and peaceful. Slowly, the fairly small she-wolf opens her eyes and bring her head back down to keep the sun out of her eyes. Infront of her are a few small, sparrow-sized, grey birds. They hop around pecking throughout the snow like they're searching for something. Codex sits still and watches the birds quietly, and carefully, trying her best not to scare them off out of curiosity of what they're looking for, or if they'll even be able to find whatever it is they're looking for. Another small smile graces her features as more birds come to go through the thin layer of snow. Their heads turn to look around at each other, flying over to one another causing a chain reaction of running another one off. Eventually, a larger bird flies to the small group, scaring them away. The smile disappears from Codex's face and she frowns. What a rude bird. Her legs straighten as she abruptly stands and jumps toward the slightly bigger bird, and it takes off into the trees. Codex sits back down in her original spot wanting to longer enjoy the beautiful weather.

Koa;
A blissfully fresh morning had dawned on Ivory Wild that day. It was chilly, to be sure, but they were past mid-winter now, and the very early signs of Spring were fast approaching. There weren't any buds on the trees yet, but the river leading into Kai Lake to the West was beginning to show signs of thaw. It made hunting much more simple when water was easy to be found. All the wolves of Ivory Wild had to do was push past their border slightly, and could find plenty of deer getting a well-needed drink. Ivory Wild was plentiful in prey still, of course, but there was no sense completely diminishing their winter reserves if they didn't have to.
Koa was doing a border patrol on the North side of the territory that morning. The packland was small, but the trees that made up the border went for some ways. Upon finding nothing out of the ordinary, however, Koa turned back and faced the pack land. She sat at the North Peak of her territory, and allowed her minty eyes to scan the beginnings of the hilly meadow. The tattoo on the back of her head flared up suddenly, and then all at once she could sense the identities of the wolves within her pack. She had been right—if she pushed her power to the limit, she could feel a deer (or perhaps two) in the general area of the river. But she wasn't looking for deer. She scanned the territory, checking in. All wolves accounted for, thankfully. Familiar wolves were felt more strongly for Koa, and she could even pick out distinct identities. It was in this way that she decided to go and meet the newest member of her pack. She took off towards Codex's location, allowing her Awareness to fade into the background.
In a few minutes of a quick trot, she came into view. The stormy-pelted female allowed a smile to grace her features. She wanted to get to know her subordinates more. It was such a small pack, that having an aloof Alpha would do nobody any good. "Codex," Koa hailed as she came closer. "It's a fine day, isn't it?" Her breath misted in front of her as she spoke. As Alpha, it was her job to always have a list in the back of her mind of things that needed to be done. Perhaps she and Codex could get to some of the items on the list today.

Codex;
The Alphess' sudden voice causes Codex to slowly open her eyes, the sun's light making her blink a few times to adjust to the bright sun rays. She smiles once again but this time the smile is directed to the new presence. The dark-green female turns her head to look at her and stands up, her body following her head. A small nod is sent toward Koa as a polite greeting and her tail hangs down lazily, most of her muscles slightly relaxed in her body.
"Hello. Yes, I do think so. I enjoy weather that isn't too cold, but also not blazing hot. I've been called picky for worrying about things like that." A small giggle escapes Codex's throat at the realization of how many times she's been called picky for complaining about the weather being too hot or too cold. Codex's voice is soft, but surprisingly for her, is mature. Although she's usually bratty with some things, she's spent a lot of time alone and has not really gotten a chance yet to be the brat she really can be.
"Anyways, I'm interested. What kind of things do you enjoy?" Codex's eyes are bright and happy. Being able to speak to someone in a friendly, instead of arguing all the time, was something that can always bring a smile to her face and make her heart jump around with happiness. Her ears perk up and she tilts her head slightly out of interest in what an Alphess like Koa would find enjoyable in life.

Koa;
Codex explains that she can be rather particular about choices in weather, then giggles shrilly into the winter air. Koa leans back slightly, taken aback by the sudden and high-pitched laugh. Koa was never one for other wolves giggling around her. The Alphess tilted her head slightly, but chose not to comment on it; after all, Codex was still a new member of the pack, and Koa had all the time in the world to either sculpt her to be the pack member she wished, or force her out... Koa checked herself. Of course, such things as giggling would not make her want to force somebody out of Ivory Wild. A choice like that would border insane. But Koa found, often times, that wolves who giggled outright often did not measure up to her own maturity level. This was just surface information, of course, but Koa would keep her eye on it. Alone, a giggle meant nothing. Codex still boasted of plenty of helpful traits for the pack. But she would watch.
Codex pulled the Alphess from her thoughts when she asked what Koa enjoyed to do. Koa blinked slowly, thinking on it for a moment. She considered not answering, but didn't want to paint herself as an untouchable Alpha. She tasted the words on her mouth before she said them. "Recently, my interests have been in furthering Ivory Wild's interests. I prepared much before winter so we could have a somewhat safe and comfortable life." She glanced around once more, happy that the territory remained sheltered and full of prey. "Before this? Intelligent conversations, discovering and learning new things, and finding ways to strengthen myself were my interests." Minty eyes narrowed slightly as Koa allowed a smile to form on her maw. "What about you, Codex?"

Codex;
"Ahh. I guess I relate a bit to you. I also enjoy learning about new things," Codex takes a moment as she looks down with a slightly sad smile, "I can't say I've seen enough to create a list of things I enjoy, nor do I think that I'll be able to make a very long list in this lifetime. I've already missed too much in the time I've been in this world. Realizing that she has missed so many things from her parents keeping her from the outside world out of worry that something might happen, the sad feeling can take over. Too much time has passed and Codex is getting older, she knows that she doesn't have enough time to see and experience all that she wishes to.
A sigh rushes out, a breath being pushed out of Codex's nose and she looks up toward Koa. For the first time, her eyes show a faint glint of hopefulness and she maintains a small smile as her head turns back up and she makes eye contact with Koa. "Thank you. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't grateful for accepting me into this pack." In all honesty, Koa saved Codex's life. Sincerity is laced within her words when she speaks. Her parents were nowhere to be found, the small group she traveled in for safety wasn't as safe as she had hoped. It was coming onto a year that she'd spent without anyone to have a one-on-one conversation with and it was driving her mad. She'd only just heard about Ivory Wild because of a group passing by and word of that pack finally gave her hope to continue on and find a safe place to live with friendly wolves.

Koa;
Koa listened intently. The moment that Codex mentioned that she doubted she had time to make a list of things she truly enjoyed in this lifetime, the Alphess felt herself recoil. Not true. "You should be more confident," Koa said, her voice beginning to hint at the subtle-tone that seasoned-Alpha's voices always seemed to hold. "There is always time to discover new things, especially those which mean something to you." She watched Codex closely. Had she made a mistake, allowing this female into Ivory Wild? She doubted it, somehow, but wanted to remain aware just in case. "Why do you think these things?" Koa asked, unworried if it was too personal, as she was the Alphess and felt she had almost a right to know of her subjects' pasts—at least on the surface.
"And I hope you would be," Koa said in response to Codex saying she would be lying if she wasn't grateful, her eyes dancing. "The Ivory Wild is too small a family to make room for wolves that are not thankful to be a part of it." This was true. Wolves could come and wolves could go—but Koa would not allow wolves that were not fully 'in' to stay.

(Man, Codex is for some reason the hardest character for me to write for so far. Sorry for this being extremely short.) Codex;
A small hum and nod are sent toward Koa, "I suppose I should be. It might just be that I've been blind to reality. What the world actually is. Whether its good things or evil, I haven't been able to experience them first hand. A friendly look remains plastered on Codex's mug.
"Well, I've honestly only been wandering the valley for a couple seasons. I've not yet gotten to see things like the Lunar Meadow flowers in bloom. That's something that might interest me." Truthfully, any flower blooming would amaze Codex, as she's been tucked away in mountains and away from a lot of the valley for such a long time. Codex tilts her head, "Were you born in the valley or did you travel from somewhere else?"

((Pan used to be the hardest for me, and I realized it was because I hadn’t found his personality properly yet, and didn’t know him that well. I tried to play him as TOO naive and TOO annoying. I found a much happier balance and now am comfortable playing him, and I really like him, too! Also I’m on my phone so please forgive any mistakes))
Koa;
Koa listened to Codex’s words very closely. She was agreeable, there was no denying that... but young, so young. And clever too, but Koa got the sense that she either didn’t know it, or didn’t believe it just yet. Minty eyes watched closely, vine-marked ears twitched forward. The female said she knew she should be happy to love in Ivory Wild, but then immediately said what peices of the valley she hadn’t seen yet. There were no laws keeping pack wolves on the territory, of course, but suddenly Koa wondered if Codex didn’t actualy just desire to be free. ”You know, Codex,” Koa said, ignoring her question. ”That’s twice now that you’ve given me the idea that you are frightened to miss out on certain experiences within the valley. You mentioned you are free and on your own now for, really, the first time.” Koa tilted her head, finding that thinking like an Alphess was coming more easier by the second. ”I wonder if you would like to be truly free. I feel that you may have joined Ivory Wild out of a fear of being alone—but I also think you would flourish on your own, and discover just how capable you are. In other words, Codex, I think you have some growing up to do still, and I would hate for you to be locked into a pack that may or may not fit your new idea of yourself, when you get one.”
Koa blinked slowly and flashed a slow smile. ”What do you think, Codex? I truly believe that being a loner might be the best thing for you. Trust me, I did it for years, only starting Ivory Wild because I realized my idea of myself has room for an Alpha-reign in it.” Koa watched closely. She was not kicking Codex out, not at all—but she was suddenly quite sure that the female would do better outside of Ivory Wild’s borders. ”What do you say?”
((Real question though! Honestly I think Codex is wild and fun and free enough that she could get involved in some pretty fun plots and situations as a loner. She just seems so sad that she is missing out on, frankly, loner experiences!!! xD let me know what you think))

((OOf. Real questions indeed. I honestly think Codex would do good with wandering around a little, but she needs to mental support from knowing that she has other wolves to back her up a bit. This is hard LOL. Also, no problem! I have too many typos and I'm on a computer anyways. Think it'd be possible for Codex to wander around a little and return to Ivory Wild?))
Codex;
"Ahh. I'm honestly not too sure. I've finally gotten to feel the comfort of knowing I have a safe place to live, but I want to be able to see the many things that this valley has to offer. I could do with a little exploring, but for my whole life I've been ignoring the feeling of wanting to experience different places, and instead, I've had my mind set on trying to find a place to settle down and feel comfortable." Codex was directly in the middle of both sides. She had no idea what she wants to do. "Honestly, I don't think I've got the confidence to set off on my own. I'd need a partner in crime if I'm going to set off and explore the whole valley." The dark-sea-green female's face scrunches up as a headache pulses in her mind from trying to think too hard about the question.
((Also sorry this is super short. I've not had much time to reply to things because I've got 4 language exams coming up and I've just had a math exam. In the next few weeks, I should get faster at replying and my posts should be longer.))

((I won't say no right off the bat here for Codex returning, but I'm not going to say yes either. We will just have to see how it plays out—if we are in agreement OoC that Codex could get a lot of character development done out of the pack, IC I'm not sure how Koa would react to her agreeing to leave then wanting to come back. However, Koa is smart, and depending how much Codex learns and/or how she requests to join once more, we'll see. At this point, I do actually think Codex is a bit immature for Ivory Wild, but as you Rp her more in other scenarios, have her meet new wolves, etc etc, maybe we can revisit it. Yes?))
Koa;
The stormy-pelted Alpha listened with soft eyes, tilting her head gently to catch each of Codex's words. She guessed the female was near enough to her own age, but so far from what Koa had seen, there was an immaturity in her. Koa hadn't seen it on their first meeting, but then again, Koa had been quick to allow her entrance to the pack. Perhaps with future joining-requests she would have to be more careful. It wasn't that Codex was a bad wolf. Indeed, she had answered all the questions correctly, and Koa could sense a deep loyalty within her. Then again, Koa's suggestion of her going off on her own and growing up a bit, perhaps, seemed like the best option. When she returned, Koa would revisit the idea of her within Ivory Wild—but until then, the Alphess thought it best for her to fulfill the curiosity and wanderlust inside of herself. Koa smiled.
"Perhaps that could be the first place to start," She said, turning her shoulder and preparing to go an inspect the far end of the meadow. "Branch out. Know yourself. Perhaps you will meet somebody with the same desires as yourself."

Codex; (( Meds I cannot believe I let this go on so long, I am so sorry. And this was almost over anyway!)) Codex listens with closed eyes and an open heart, her ears twitching at every small sound and the tip of her tail tapping on the ground counting seconds. The young female is silent for a moment, collecting her thoughts, trying to figure out what to do. However, only after a few seconds, she's able to see the clear picture. It would probably be best to further explore the valley's multiple wonders. "Right, I must thank you for all you've done thus far, although we've only met recently. You've allowed me to step back and see where my life should lead and I'm very grateful." Codex's legs straighten and she stands up, stretching the stiffness out of her muscles. Her eyes open, smiling up to Koa before turning toward the vast meadow. "Well, I suppose I need to start thinking of where to go first." Codex turns facing the direction closest to the edge of the territory, "I hope to meet again soon, Koa. Once again, thank you for all you've done." Codex's feet begin to carry her out of the territory and to the life she's always been looking for. -Exit Codex-

((Haha all good!!))
Koa;
The young wolfess showed that Koa had not been far off with her guess that she would fit in Ivory Wild. The Alpha's suggestion was taken with grace and poise, something that Koa appreciated. She was not kicking Codex out of the pack by any means, but she had been slightly worried that her words would be taken wrong. The last thing she wanted to do was offend a perfectly good pack member; and she was very happy that Codex could see her side of the story. Koa imagined that some time alone would do the young female nothing but good. The stormy-pelted new Alphess bowed her head to Codex, smiling softly.
"Ivory Wild shall be here when you return—I look forward to hearing about all that you've learned."
