Baal;
Winter was soon to come to an end. The sun has become brighter than it ever was in the earlier and mid stages of winter and the temperature of the air has risen a bit. The ground is damp and cold from soaking the melting snow that had started to melt off from the change in temperature, spring just around the corner. Due to the large redwood trees, the area was much more shades when the sun wasn't straight above, the trunk of the trees creating more shade than the green, needle-leaf covered tops. The cones that bear the rice-grain-sized seeds of the trees are strewn across the predominantly plain, brown, dirt forest floor which had darker patches in some areas from too much water being soaked in one place.
Baal's large paws sunk into the wet ground with each step, leaving a track of his prints behind him and creating a sticky noise every time he picked his foot up out of the mud. The lower part of his leg and his paws are dirtied and brown from some of the mud sloshing around and washing up on his long legs. As soon as he finds a dry spot on the ground, the large male lowers his head toward the ground, his neck setting lower on his shoulders as it follows his head. He sniffs around the area only to pick up the scent of the large conifer trees covering the area. Lifting his neck back up, his eyes scan what top of the trees he's able to see. They're extremely tall, but it's a little too high for him to spot any animals that live in the treetops clearly.
It's still fairly early in the morning. So much so that the sun begins to peek through the forest, the rays warming whatever it lands on. The higher the sun is, the more light makes its way through to the forest floor and the whole area becomes much brighter than before. The sky is a beautiful mixture of colors being created by the sunrise, but the various pinks and oranges behind to disappear as the sun leaves its spot on the horizon. Even the atmosphere in the area is much lighter, rather than before when each inch of the redwood forest was clouded in what seemed like a large shadow from the lack of light being produced. A smile appears across the male's features, matching the brightness of the morning. One thing he's always enjoyed was sunrises. Knowing it was a new day. The thought of getting another day to explore new places or make new friends always caused a happy feeling to rush through his body and bring a smile to his face. All that's left is for Baal to figure out what adventure this new day brought him.
