Keahi;
“Smart girl.” He muttered as she came to the conclusion about fear and weakness. If anything, she had unknowingly unburied the root of his true fear. He smirked lightly, devouring her naivety with his eyes and finding his body started to burn inside similarly to the heat on his back…but better. It was the heat of having a female in close quarters, and much under his control, or so Keahi fancied. It wasn’t much of a feat, especially since he now discovered that she was indeed broken and bent – a slave. Keahi had never seen the marking in person, but there on her neck as he bent hungrily over her (or just taller and seeing over her shoulder) was the scaring of both an ‘X’ and what looked like something sharp had pierced and torn her over a long period of time.
So easy, it would be so easy. What many dark wolves did not understand was true passion. He could see any other dark hearted male in this situation with a female so close. Take her, use her, beat her – and leave her. But, what fun was there in such a short-lived relationship? When Keahi could have her heart, along with all the fun appetizers to go with it? In Keahi’s ideal world, he’d have a whole following, many wolves that ‘loved’ him and did whatever Keahi wanted.
The oranges, reds, and yellows of his eyes were glued to Yami’s body, aware of every little twitch and breath that moved her ribs. She then moved just enough to look up at him. His smile widened a little at the compliment, or observation – with the slight loss of breath in her voice. It was almost unnoticeable, except that Keahi was used to the sound, and since her voice was so devoid of it, he did hear the softness that had touched her voice.
If he could have raised an eyebrow at the question, he would have. It almost sounded like she wanted to know for herself – but because of the way she had been answering and asking previous questions, he heard the literal-ness in her question. She was not begging for him, she was asking – she was literally just asking. It was almost funny.
“That, I’m afraid, is a question only answered by experience, my ashen dove.” He leaned forward and with his teeth lightly grazed her ear with his teeth. Then he moved away out of the water, passing and brushing by Yami.
“Maybe one day you’d like me to show you,” He suggested, with a wry smile, turning to face her, “but all in good time.”
“Now, that can’t be your only question.” Keahi mused lightly. “I’d like to ask a question, if that’s alright.” He paused a moment, eying her. “Were you hunting or frolicking in the water earlier when I arrived?”

Yami;
"Smart girl."
An unfamiliar jolt trembled through Yami's stomach, though why, she couldn't guess. Was it at being recognized? Complimented? Or was it something more, the fact that he drew attention to her femaleness, when all of his maleness was so impossible to ignore? The strength in his jaw, the smooth honey-like consistency of his voice. All of this was so new to Yami, and it was quite confusing.
But that was how Yami was. She was not physically broken. All the same reactions were still there—fear, love, excitement. It was just that those emotions and reactions had firstly, never been taught. And secondly, never been embraced. When a different wolf felt the slight tremor in their stomach when close to an attractive male, they may blush, look away, step back. But Yami? Those feelings were all-new to her. Unrecognized. The fact that her eyes continually traced the lines of Keahi's body meant nothing further. It was just something her body was doing. But it didn't feel bad...
When he said her question was only answerable by experience, Yami really did step back. Now she had done itâwhy bring it up? She knew of what males and females did. She knew what happened to silly little females when left all alone with strong and evil-hearted males. Nyx had explained it all in vivid detailâeven going one step further to ensure that Yami really knew. But she hadn't thought Keahi was like that. The young female turned, putting her back to him, and padding until she had cleared the water. Once at the bank, she turned to look at him again and sat down once more. She looked just in time to hear him say that perhaps he could show her. Her eyes didn't widen, her breath didn't catch-but a sinking feeling settled into the very depths of her core. Stupid Yami, stupid. He said 'all in good time', but she knew what that really meant.
"Alright," She hummed, her voice unreadable. "You can show me." Anything to keep him happy. To keep herself safe. Nyx had said the day would come (had even hinted that she would bring it about)... But then he moved on from that topic of discussion. Yami's ears perked forward in confusion and her shoulders straightened slightly. What? "You—want to continue speaking?" All of this was quite new to Yami. What a curious male, this Keahi was. Telling her one thing and then doing another. Making her feel hungry, looking hungry himself, eating up her scent—and then wanting to speak.
His question wasn't as hard as some of the other ones. This one Yami could answer. She was well accustomed to explaining herself. "F—frolicking." No embarrassment, no smile. "I wanted to try it. Have you ever frolicked?" As she spoke she again displayed the disturbing way her mind could shift from one subject to another with little to no hesitation. Her moods could change like night and day at the flick of a switch. Such was the life of a wolf that had grown up having to adapt to her environment to survive.

Keahi;
He watched, amused as she stalked robotically away and he watched her openly. Then she turned, and had consented to him. It would have been enough for any male, he wouldn’t even have to be dark to be tempted by the free offer Yami had offered. Then he watched her body react as he continued conversation, instead of taking her. He smiled, almost tenderly at her confusion. He almost felt an angry jolt, that she was already broken to offering herself like a slab of meat. While he liked the idea of servants, he preferred them to be only his. Whoever ruled over Yami, whether Nyx or some other Midnight Silence demon, the owner had made one mistake… They were so busy rooting fear and corruption, that they made her bend to any power. There was no loyalty. There was no passion. No love.
Again, he smiled, feeling a little rejuvenated by this discovery.
Her last words, her answer and then question – he filed away the information, watching her a little more carefully. Like a switch she changed subject and he couldn’t tell if she was relieved or not… While readable and slightly predictable, he found there was still work to be done. Keahi had made his mind up, and little did miss Yami know and to the chagrin of whoever was her master, that Keahi had found himself a new pet that he liked very much.
“Aye. You’ll recall I splashed water toward you – I was trying to join in with you. But, Yami…” He answered her, to show her that he had wanted to continue the conversation, but he wanted to make one thing clear. He wasn’t interested in teaching her the logistics of how to play, though she would need to understand the meaning of giving and not just taking.
“I think you misunderstood my earlier comments.” He moved toward her a step, paused, moved a little more – and paused. Again, one more step so he was close, almost nose-to-nose, his neck arched to be close to her face. “Love… love is mutual.” His eyes burned into her dark and dull gaze, searching for whatever life was inside her. “When, or… If I show you…” Yes, create the illusion that she actually had a choice in the matter… “You must not just consent, you must want it.” Slowly he moved his face next to hers and tipped his head gently against hers for a moment, the touch was enough to even make his own body react. He had been exercising much restraint, only because he knew the long run was much more delicious than the here and now. He moved away and looked at her curiously. “Does that make sense?”

Yami;
Surprising her still further, not only did Keahi not seem to want to take her—she almost felt that the offer angered him. She couldn’t be sure, but Yami was in-tune with others like her life depended on it—and it often did. She fretted for only a moment though, because even in the short time they had been there, she was beginning to feel connected to him. Attached. He was awfully handsome... Pulling her from her thoughts, Keahi reminded her that he had tried to play with her when in the watwr. The shadow of an almost-frown crossed over her face as she tried to remember when. Oh, the splashing. Was that what play was? It had seemed odd at the time... but maybe if Yami was brave enough to play by herself, perhaps she could gain the courage to let another into the game as well. But whatever playing really was, it suddenly didn’t seem very important, as Keahi began walking towards her. His movement was inturupted by his words, but eventually he stood mere inches from her. Ash-grey eyes were wide, if only to keep him in her sights so close up, as he explained that he wanted her to want him.
Yet another surprise.
Yami had never heard such a thing from anybody. Oh, she had felt longing—of course. She felt it everyday. For food, for warmth, for physical contact... but never, never had those desires been acknowledged. It was quite something. He wanted her to want him. Yami didn’t flinch away, he had already been close for too long to do that, but her mind began spinning. To want something or someone, and have that be reciprocated, would be the single greatest thrill that Yami had experienced in her young life. She couldn’t even quite wrap her head around it. How would she know when she wanted it? Did she want it now—or was that just a bone-deep desire to please? It would take some thinking, that was for sure.
But then every thought barrelled out of her head. Suddenly, with the force of a thunderclap and the gentle whispering of a lone flower in a summer breeze, they were touching. Face against face. Yami’s eyes flickered backwards in elation. His fur was so warm—so soft. His face tipped to hers, fitting like a puzzle piece, bent into the bend of her own jawline and cheeks. Time slowed. All around her, the birds were louder and the colours, more viberant. She could almost feel his pulse against her skin. Her eyes closed, her breath escaping her open-maw in a gentle rush. Her tail tucked and her rump dipped below her, bringing her to a sitting position—for somehow, she had stood up. As she sat, he broke contact and asked her if what he said made sense. It all made sense. He had set Yami’s body afire. Her toes were tingling, and her head was heavy as if stuffed with cotton.
”Yes, I understand,” She said finally—and for all her excitement and emotion, her voice still came out monotone. ”One day...” She nodded slowly, thoughts of loving and being loved poisoning all the rest of her thoughts.. ”One day you will show me. I want you to. To feel your body near mine, your pulse against me—your breath in my ear.” There was that feeling of excitement and rebellion again. Nobody to stop her, not when she was alone. Keahi would keep her safe. ”Nyx will never have to know.” She almost didn’t notice uttering the name, as she was speaking largely to herself—convincing herself that it would be alright.

Keahi;
His eyes scanned her features as she spoke. If he had been closing his eyes, he would have been disappointed by the lack of emotion in her tone. However, there was something in the way she swayed slightly when he had stepped away from her and a look on her that resembled a daze. If he had not been familiar with her robotic mannerisms, he would have been insulted at the lack of passion in her eyes. There was a spark, but it was still dull comparatively. She was sitting, looking up at him with her dark wide eyes.
Keahi had the urge to reach out and stroke her once more, but stopped himself when she started speaking about the future. His paws shifted his weight restlessly as she started to promise a future for him. It was almost like she was swearing loyalty in that moment, when she had no real clue of what it really meant. When she described the way it would be near him, and Keahi had a very vivid imagination, a little growl rumbled in the back of his throat in pleasure.
“I look forward to that day.” His voice was velvety soft, dripping with anticipation.
Nyx, ah yes. She could rain on his parade, couldn’t she? Thus Yami solidified all he had assumed about being a slave. It did not discourage Keahi, he was an optimistic soul, but his new game would take tactic. This one encounter would not be enough… If he stole Yami away right now, Nyx would surely come after them and Yami was not ready for that sort of confrontation yet. Keahi was the loving type, not necessarily the war or physical conflict stirring type. While he was wiley, he guessed from his memory that Nyx would not be one he wanted as an enemy.
His body had relaxed, musing over Nyx and the complications her presence would cause. In this ironic story – Nyx was actually the brunt of the joke; Keahi was stealing her toy, lighting it on fire – and eventually in the hopeful future…burning the owner. It was tragic, really, that Nyx wasn’t good or neutral, or else it would really impress the goddess Geist and he could skip the whole killing thing. But maybe… outwitting one of her strongest puppets would be good enough? That, or infuriate her. Either way, Keahi was playing with fire, and was enjoying the thrill of it.
He eyed his new pet, wondering casually if Geist would ever grant a slave a gift. Maybe if it was to help Nyx? The only way to fool Geist would for Yami to believe it was to help Nyx…but then Geist would see the rebellion flaring in her heart… Perhaps Sheba would be a better bet… His brain was starting to hurt from the onslaught of thoughts.
“Not at all.” He confirmed warmly, comfortingly. She had told him earlier that she was made of fear; it would take some coaxing and time to soothe the fear out of her.
“Come, let us swim.” Keahi’s pale and firey form turned and trotted back to the shore. It lapped at his feet now. “And maybe you can help me with a conundrum of mine.” Yami had been just the distraction he had needed, but he remembered his troubles with the thoughts of Nyx who had led him to thoughts of Geist. He still wanted a power; he still needed to prove himself.

Yami;
The growl in the back of his throat could be mistaken for nothing other than desire, even Yami heard it. She swallowed hard, leaning in toward him without a conscious thought. They would have touched once more, but Keahi opened his mouth to speak, bringing Yami back to the present and her original position. She focused on his eyes—his eyes... Nyx’s eyes were dark and terrible. Keahi’s eyes were warm, hot even, and things of raw beauty. Yami had heard that eyes were the windows to the soul. If Keahi’s soul was even half as red-hot as his eyes... Yami knew that she would have to be careful not to get burned. ”That day will come.” She was sure of it.
When she brought up Nyx, Keahi didn’t seem frightened or perturbed. That was even more exciting for the young female. Somebody that wasn’t afraid of Yami’s own personal devil was mesmerizing. Oh the things he could teach her. The things she could do...
He spoke of swimming once more, and Yami turned to watch him trot handsomely into the water. She followed, if not a half-beat too slowly to be casual, and entered into the warm waters without hesitation. Keahi spoke of a problem, and suggested that perhaps Yami could help him. She blinked, her face emotionless as she considered his words and slowly walked deeper into the water. She didn’t go as deep as she had been before—for she was no longer alone—but she padded in until the water lapped at her chest. Her head tilted as she watched him, and her neck cracked comically as she did so. She hadn’t tilted her head that way in some time. ”A conundrum?” She half-jumped, somehow turning the motion into something slightly graceful as she glided through the water. ”Do you really think I can help?” She’d never helped somebody before, at least not somebody who thought she was worth anything.

Keahi;
Keahi did not doubt that the day would come that Yami would be his for certain, but he did know how long games like this could drag on. He tried to ignore the thrill that went through his body as she promised him that it would, he was almost glad he had put distance between the two for that moment. He took a lap of water to cool his thoughts.
He watched her follow and imagined a little imaginary line between the two- something he hoped that would grow and thicken to be unbreakable. Not just unbreakable… something that resisted being broken. It was one of the attributes of love that he drew in his favor; the stubborn and relentless actions that were born from attachment.
Yami’s head tilted and it crackled like a burning fire.
“Yes, you’ve already helped me actually. You were a nice distraction when I first came upon you… You still are.” He said with a characteristic smile and wink.
“But, we all have to face our problems some time or later.” He sighed a little, glancing at the mountain in the musty distance. Firey gaze turned back to Yami.
He guessed he could tell her whatever he wanted. Gauging by the fear she had of Nyx, she wouldn’t dare speaking of their encounter – let alone the things he told her. Even if she did spill, it was of no real importance, unless his brother some how found out. He could still censor out some information…
“I’ve been sent on a little task from Geist. I assume you know of the goddess? Well, I’ve got to impress her, and preferably quickly… before next summer.”

Yami;
She was a distraction to him. Yami felt like she could have smiled in that moment, but the minute she realized that it lost its natural and instinctual feel—so she didn’t. She merely held him within the line of her big eyes as he moved through the water with lazy confidence. Then his eyes turned towards the mountain. Yami knew where he was looking without even having to take her eyes from him. She tried not to look at the mountain. In her nightmares, Nyx took her to the foot of the mountain at dusk and took hold of the largest natural shadow in the valley. It was frightening to imagine. So she tried not to. When he turned back to look at her, his eyes were alight again. They had never been quenched of course, but something about that mountain caused them to burn anew. Yami felt both her heart and her stomach tighten as he met her eyes once more.
”Then you must do it,” Yami said the moment he was finished explaining himself. The great goddess...” Her voice took on an almost wistful tone (almost), and for just a second, she wasn’t there in the water anymore. ”I dream of her. To go, to visit. To seek a gift.” She stared into sky’s reflection in the water inches from her nose. ”My gift would be like nothing this valley had seen. I would grow powerful, beautiful, fierce... I could kill Nyx with the blink of my eye.” She hesitated as she remembered a key point. ”Oh but I could never do that. Death’s claws were too dull to hold her before—who’s to say it would not be the same again?” She shuddered, and her ears flattened against her head. ”Not that I would get to Geist anyway.” She shook her head. ”She watches the foot of the mountain. If my shadow ever strayed near she would... feel it. She would stop it.” Her voice had faded to a whisper, and suddenly it was as if she realized where she was.
Yami swallowed hard, eyes wide. How much had she said? She couldn’t even remember specifics now. What had he said that brought her to the topic? ”Your problem.” Her voice came out forced and a slightly frazzled—the most inflection it had yet held. ”—You—you don’t know how to impress her?” She couldn’t quite meet his eyes after such a large slip, but she didn’t run, and that was all to Keahi’s credit.

Keahi;
She spoke, and each time more she spoke, he caught glimpses of maybe who she had been before she had been enslaved. He really didn’t see the appeal of breaking down a personality into a robot. What was the point of having personality-less creature following you around like a shadow? What strength did that add to a pack? It seemed more of a burden, especially if they were not well fed or strong. It seemed contrary to what a strong pack was really made of. It almost made him curious about the pack; while he wasn’t exactly a…team player… he wondered what it was like to be among a dark pack with robotic and beaten creatures crawling in the shadows.
Yami wasn’t one of those creatures right now, she was speaking freely of her thoughts and… dreams. While there was little emotion in her voice, the words were passionate of how she imagined a potential future. Killing Nyx. His eyes widened a little, his smile knowing. Oh, this was just too… delicious. Annnnd then it all went downhill. Not really downhill, she still had the dream, but it was the logical and fearful part of Yami that entered the conversation. Nyx was indeed powerful then, if she would be able to sense Yami’s shadow nearing the mountain. IF this was ever to progress… he would need to distract Nyx long enough for Yami to get to Geist. That would definitely take some planning.
Her voice had gone soft and quiet, and he watched fear trickle into her features. She obviously was not used to speaking so openly.
“Perhaps, one day, we will work on your problem too. If you will allow me.” His voice had lowered a little, husky, warm. His smile was softer too, sympathetic.
“It’s not that I don’t know what will impress Geist. It’s going about it. Death… suffering… I’m not the petty-killing type. Revenge… or, something with purpose is more my style.”
He paused, glancing at the water at his reflection for a moment. His fur above his chest had semi dried, tufts of dry fur pulling away from the damp fur. In the blue water his reflection often reminded him of his cool toned brother.
“Geist has said that either my brother or I will get a power – not both. Whoever completes the task first will get their ability.” His jaw clenched in frustration, the image of his brother leaping at him flashing through his vivid thoughts.
“Would you kill your sibling, to win Geist’s game?” His curious gaze lifted to Yami, wondering if she would open up again as she had before.

Yami;
When he responded to her slip, he surprised her again—which really wasn’t very surprising, anymore. It seemed that he was an overflowing cache of undiscovered wonders. He did not fear Nyx, and nor did he get angry at Yami for spilling her heart. This, she could get used to. To live a life without care—no worry about what is said or thought. The idea was entirely captivating. A huskiness in his voice when he spoke next made Yami’s stomach feel suddenly hollow. He moved towards her just slightly—just a small broadening of his chest, a subtle regaining of his balance. But the movement made Yami feel almost safe, and that was a rarity indeed. Her weight tipped slightly to her toes and she inched forward slightly. ”Your voice is like honey,” She said, looking up at him as he all but promised to help her if she would have it. ”I want to listen to it forever.”
His focus then shifted back to his own problem, highlighting that he wasnt a murderer or evil just for fun. That was new, too. ”There would be no greater purpose to kill something than to impress Geist...—or to purify that which has rotted.” She blinked, not feeling comfortable enough to say the name again. Keahi’s eyes fell to the water, and Yami saw him stare deeply into his reflection. It didn’t look like it made him happy. When he spoke, she easily detected a tense strain that hadn’t been there before. She followed his gaze just as he mentioned his brother. When he asked if Yami would kill her own sibling to impress Geist, she paused, her tongue between her pristine teeth.
”I’ve never had a sibling. Or—“ She frowned. ”Never the bond that would come with such. My pack did not share details like that—the personal, the familiar. Pups were snatched the moment the air touched them.” She had never known her parents, but had considered more times than one that perhaps that was alright. Anybody that would do such a thing to their blood-kin would probably be monsters anyway. ”But—“ And now her ashy eyes flicked up to Keahi’s. ”—Yes. Without hesitation.” Maybe that was Nyx speaking through her, or maybe it was pure Yami—such lines were hard to differentiate anymore. But, as she moved forward through the water and slapped her paw in the reflection of what she could only guess was reminding Keahi of his brother, the barest ghost of a smile flashed across her lips.

Keahi;
He looked down at her as she had almost reached toward him, complimenting his voice, and admitting how she wanted to listen forever. There was no better way to make Keahi feel good than to compliment his outwardly appearance. Compliments were no surprise, even expected, and most definitely watered his already blooming ego. He growled appreciatively at her words, because not only was it a compliment of him, but it was the kind of compliment that made him feel like he was getting somewhere with Yami. Forever, whether she meant it literally or not, was exactly what he wanted with her, as long as remained attached to him.
To purify that which has rotted. Wasn’t it interesting how each had their own interpretation to that which had been rotted? For the good it was anything with evil in it, for the evil it was those purged with light, and for the wishy washy neutral wolves it was those who committed too much to one side or the other. Even within darkness there seemed to be different interpretations.
His mind shifted gears when she spoke about family, or rather, the lack of family. His stomach curled at the thought of stealing pups within a pack. Maybe… maybe if it was stealing with the intention of purifying… but a pack that functioned like Yami described made Keahi’s insides squirm.
Yami’s ashy dark gaze flicked up to him, a certain determination and darkness crossing them. Similar to the way she had been passionate about killing Nyx, but her passion wasn’t in her certainty, it was the way she had chosen to help Keahi. Soothe him. Her paw rose from the water and slapped at his reflection. His firey gaze looked down at the warped and rippling self-image. He loved himself; it was too bad that his brother and he shared so many characteristics. Perhaps that was the only reason why he loved…liked? Cared for? Suffered? …his brother.
Just as quickly his eyes sliced back to Yami, just in time to catch the quietest of smiles pass to and from her maw. A maw that was slender and petite perhaps could look elegant with some care. Sprinkle a little more confidence and – voila! Or at least, his very vivid imagination seemed convinced of the possibilities.
“Ah, then would you find help then? My brother and I are pretty evenly matched… unless maybe I caught him by surprise…” But then could he make the final killing blow ‘without hesitation’ like Yami said? He would also need to find his brother, it had been a while since he’d come across his scent. It would be nice if he had someone holding his brother down, maybe even egging him down. He even had this strange feeling that he'd want Yami to be there. Perhaps because it would be easier to keep on his charade while possibly killing his brother.... Killing his brother??? Was he out of his mind? How had it come to this? They hadn't even had a falling out! It was just the fact that he existed and could possibly take away his opportunity to get an ability and please Geist... He wanted it. He wanted it bad. “Know of any powers available for hire?” He asked in a joking tone, eyes alight with less irritation that he had had before. Yami was certainly good at cooling him off. Perhaps she would be more useful than just a game in itself.

Yami;
The growl that rose from his throat as she spoke of his voice, deep, guttural, sensual... made her feel more alive than she could remember ever feeling. Sparks were going off inside of her. A stomach that so often felt uneasy due to lack of food suddenly felt uneasy because it was filled with little winged creatures. Ideas and images and whispered dreams that she had never dreamt for herself were suddenly twisting and spinning and rolling in her brain. In that moment, in that half moment as he leaned in, and she leaned in, and his growl... she almost felt her lips pull back to reveal her teeth. She didn't know why, and indeed the discipline attributed to showing her teeth was severe—but it wasn't in anger that she almost snarled. It was another sort of feeling. She felt herself wanting to move forward and rake her teeth across Keahi's lips, to feel his ear between her bite. This was all quite a lot for a wolf still quite pup-like in her mind. But that was just it. She wasn't pup like, especially not in body. In some scenarios, sure. She didn't know the subtleties of conversation, bluntness was her way, childish fear plagued her... but on the flip side of that, she was far more mature than her years. Her vocabulary alone spoke volumes of that. And her thoughts, well, especially in that moment... there was nothing pup-like about them.
"Ah, then would you help me find him?"
Yami came back to the present all at once and had to quickly replay the pieces of his reactions that she had overlooked as she had buried herself in her thoughts for a moment. He had twitched every so slightly when she spoke of her pack. He had watched her slap her paw across the reflection. His eyes had drank in her expression just before he spoke. And his eyes, his eyes... did he want to kill his brother? Was he unsure? Was he looking to Yami to help him decide? All of this compiled to one thing in Yami's mind, and Keahi's next words only confirmed her guess. What he needed was help.
To make him happy—to please him—to fix his problem for him, Yami needed to help him. He was confiding in her, treating her as an equal. Asking for her help. She was worth something to Keahi. Her heart suddenly ached in her chest as she realized how much he could come to need her, in time. She was used to such things. Nyx used her, but there was no happiness in that for Yami. But for Keahi...? Yami replayed in her mind his reaction to her comment about his voice. He had liked that. As well, when she had called him handsome the same sort of expression had come to his face then, too. Ah, ah, ah... Yami could be what Keahi needed. She could be what he wanted.
But she was frightened. What of Nyx? What of the mark that tied her to Midnight Silence openly, for anybody to see if they should cross the wrong wolf? Her eyes found Keahi once more as he joked about a wolf with powers to help. Would he keep her safe? Could he banish her fear? The short answer was yes—he already had in that moment. She had spoken more to him in the past afternoon than she had to anybody in a long, long time. But could she do it...?
Then, Yami exhibited the most intense side of bravery she had in a very long time. She moved toward him, closing the distance, and pressed her cheek against the graceful turn of his neck. Her eyes closed and she inhaled once more the scent of him. She pressed against him harder, then pulled back, bringing her face a bare-inch from his own and meeting his eyes unabashedly. "We can do this thing," Her voice still didn't hold inflection, but she didn't know any different. "How many powered wolves are there?" Her eyes flicked down to the line of his teeth as she spoke, then back to his eyes. She could help him... "If killing him would truly bring joy to Geist, plenty of wolves would be willing..."

Keahi;
There was something of a physical yearning that ebbed from the ashen princess. Each reaction, no matter how minuet, filled his glass a little more. He had to be careful not to get too cocky. He knew very well what his effect was on others and every time it happened to him was just another reason to fortify his conclusion about himself. Sure, some females had prove stubborn, but being optimistic and not knowing when to quit also got himself into trouble…and in the end Keahi still supposed that they had liked the encounter anyways.
How many Midnight Silence wolves could say their slaves did what they wanted out of joy or love? None. Or he assumed there was none, assuming from the sickly darkness that emanated from the pack and rumors of it. While he was certainly playing Yami like many other wolves before - liking the idea of stealing her loyalty, he also just wanted her for himself. He almost wanted it as badly as a power. A slave wouldn’t be so bad, one that loved you and told you how wonderful you were… A slave that loved you and wanted you. But, would she be a slave then? She would be in his mind, bound by his enamoring personality and body.
Then she did something that surprised him. No, not that she moved in and wanted him, that wasn’t surprising. Everyone should want him. What surprised him was how quickly she had exuded desire, was this record timing? No, no – not if he counted that one incident seasons past. But, from this little female who was enslaved by Nyx and Fear itself, he saw the desperation for love she was and had been yearning. He savored the moment, tipping his head so he could breath in the embers of her fur. Oh, what she didn’t know is how dangerously she was playing with fire. His mouth opened slightly when she pushed harder, and he almost forgot his goals and plans. But, just as quickly his maw opened, it closed the moment the warmth of her touch left.
There was fire in her eyes. Arguably not as hot as his own, not in color anyways, but since her voice still sounded robotic it was where he pulled his conclusions of how she was feeling. He gulped casually, but his insides were squirming as he realized that she had sensed his uncertainty. (Not just needing muscle, but encouragement) Here she was trying to comfort him, tell him that they could do it, that together they would conquer. Who was this she-devil and where had she come from? He didn’t need anyone, but suddenly it was as if the tables had turned and she was convincing him that he needed her. Was she even doing it consciously, or was it the way she had been programmed as a slave, to please? He searched her eyes, watched the way she glanced down at his teeth then back up at him. Yes, she /would/ have connections to blood thirsty wolves as the slave to Nyx and slave to Midnight Silence.
“Alright.” He murmured. “It’s settled.” She had placed herself close, had made a move – now according to his wooing calculations; it was his turn. He reached forward (and down a little since she was a little shorter than he) with his muzzle, sliding it next to hers and tilting his head slightly toward her. Quickly, but not too quickly, he licked the side of her mouth – as wolves did to show affection. Now though, while he withdrew his head, he kept in the same close-quarters that she had placed them in.
“You’ll tell me how I can get in contact with some muscle hire for help, and I’ll take out my brother. Then…” He lowered his head level to hers, tucking it against his chest so not to touch her quite again. “We’ll find some other ways to have fun, conquer some of your own… predicaments.” Then he backed up just a step and lowered his head to the water and flicked it up to splash her chest, a teasing warm smile adorning his flame crowned face.

Yami;
And then his tongue was against the edge of her maw. Never, never, had Yami considered that she would ever find herself in this moment. A tiny pup the colour of a weakened fire, born to a pack laced with death and decay, necromancers, and night-dancers; to experience this. With a male such as Keahi. Never known to her parents, never known to her siblings—never having felt the warmth of being connected to somebody by blood. A small and frightened thing she had always been, one who held no promise with the teachings of those who spoke with the dead and worshiped the shadows of the night. And yet here she was. With a male, a strong, handsome, tall male, who was well-older than her, and so knowledgeable and worldly...
She didn't know how to react to such a thing. Never, never, had she felt another wolf's tongue against her—not by grooming or otherwise—and yet in this moment she knew, she knew, that this was something real wolves did. What lovers did. As he pressed against her, by instinct one paw lifted and pressed against the soft fur of his chest. She didn't turn her head towards the embrace, didn't think of it, but her claws buried through the fur to the warm skin underneath. And then he was gone—but not gone. His eyes were hers, once more. A flash was presented there for the barest of moments, but Yami no longer feared that she would upset him. No, she knew better now. She was Keahi's; or at least, would come to be soon. He wouldn't hurt her as Nyx did. He wouldn't frighten her.
"The ones who walk with Nyx," Yami blurted in her feelingless way, in response to Keahi's next question. The near-future would prove hard for her. If she named the wrong wolf, or Keahi didn't get the results he wanted, it would reflect on her... but she had to try. "Fenrir, Sigyn, Bane, Yukio." Her eyes sunk slightly, knowing full-well that Nyx could rid Keahi of his problem more easily than anybody else. It was remarkable what one could do, when one had the power to render their opponents blind. "Nyx." It was true, after all, and she had to say it. She couldn't lie to him. Then she began to list those wolves she knew were in Midnight Silence and that may be willing. The more answers she gave, the more likely it was to be right. "Also Lydia, Odin, Deimos, Midnight Oasis or even... Acribus." She had never met the Beta, but had heard of him more than once. She couldn't think of any other names though, so she met Keahi's eyes and hoped she had done alright...
Then, as he moved away, Yami moved forward a half-step as well, wanting to feel that contact between them again. But something made her stop just as he spoke again. She wasn't sure if it was proper—if she was allowed. So she paused, and dipped her own paw into the water. Trying her best at something she'd never done, she then flicked some water towards him. It was probably too much or too little for the proper amount of play, but she hoped desperately that he understood. She did want to play with him. "Other ways..." She echoed his words, her eyes large, innocent, ignorant. "What could you and I do to conquer my predicaments, Keahi?" Her voice dropped to a whisper, making the monotony slightly easier to ignore. Inwardly, she doubted that he could ever truly rid her of her problems... but outwardly, she could see the warm smile in his expression, hear the teasing lilt in his voice. Ah yes. Keahi was fishing. And Yami was happily taking the bait.

Keahi;
Again, she reacted to his physical touch, her claws on one paw raking against his chest. Hard enough to keep his attention, not quite hard enough to draw blood – but he almost wished she had. He wanted to overwhelm her, but she worked like a ticking clock instead of like the sun or moon that moved creamily through the sky. Keahi half wondered how the changes in her would surface, or if she would always be so blunt and careful. He watched her change from reacting to him to calculating, words coming instinctively to answer him, to please him. He was beginning to realize that Yami was programmed to answer upon command, to do as one said. It wasn’t a half bad habit, but it also took a lot of personality out of a wolf.
The ones who walk with Nyx – she did not say, ‘Midnight Silence’ wolves, she had separated the group in a different category. He had heard a rumor of this group. His head tilted slightly as he considered the names named, the darkness when she mentioned Nyx’s name, and even more names. He blinked down at her, more in awe at her obedience than confusion of which name to choose. He could just pick random, he didn’t really care who helped him…though, it probably shouldn’t be Nyx…though, maybe it would be good for Nyx to see him kill his brother and gain some of his trust…
As he mulled over some of those thoughts he noticed her gravitate slightly toward him, and he smiled. His smile became more mischievous as she splashed water toward him in return. Better, awkward, but better. He laughed a little and backed up a little more, “Well, ” he started to answer her question, “you don’t need to worry your pretty little head about that just now. Just know, that with me as a friend, we’ll untie some of those vines that have wound around your life. Just… remember you're in control, that’s what every slave owner wants you to forget.” Keahi grinned at his own hypocrisy. With another step back he felt the water getting deeper and cooler and he let himself sink into the water, disappearing for only a moment. Once his paws hit the bottom and his back legs were able to bend, he propelled himself the few inches back to the surface, exploding water in Yami’s direction. He shook the water from his face, laughing while his feet found ground closer to Yami and where he could stand without being submerged.
“So, of the names you listed… Which would you want to help you, if you had to perform the deed? I’m not asking who would be the best, but one that you would feel most comfortable approaching.” Especially since Yami would probably introduce him to whomever it was.
