Tovaana;
Her breath came out in measured puffs of mist, each engulfing her face and dispersing as she moved forward. Her golden flecked legs were covered by powdery snow that clung to her in clumps, the rest of her relatively free of snow, except for the parts of her that glistened where the snow had melted when it hit her – then froze again on the tips of her long winter coat. Each step felt heavy, almost as heavy as her thoughts and heart. Tovaana’s golden flecked eyes were wary as she walked, flickering at every sound and change in light.
Her throat felt dry and parched despite the moist frozen air. There had been days of storming, in which she had hid herself in a makeshift cave from a bank of snow. She hadn’t had food in many days, getting most of her water from melting snow in her mouth – which had not been totally satisfactory. She swallowed and winced at her scratchy throat.
Tovaana paused as she came to the end of the trees, a meadow, and in the middle of the meadow – a lake. A memory tugged at her numbed mind, but she was so engulfed in cold and exhaustion that she couldn’t quite bring life to the memory. Thirst drove her forward toward the lake, but her heart dropped even more as she realized why the lake hadn’t been gleaming in the cloudy light… Ice encased the entirety of the lake. The closer she got and inspected the lake; the ice was rather thick, especially at the shore. Her sad gaze traced the edges of the lake, looking for other signs of life – making sure she was alone.
The white wolf turned her bulls-eye marked face down at the lake and took a cautious step onto the lake. While deep snow covered the meadow, there was less snow on the lake. She took a snow clumped paw and tried to brush some of the snow aside to assess the ice a little more. The white wolf moved one cautious step at a time further out on the ice until she was half a dozen steps away from the shore. She brushed away snow and nearly lost her balance as a shadow moved under her paws.
Shadows. Her legs trembled; taking multiples steps backward and cowered there on the ice. Shadows. Her bones and body still ached from wounds healing, scars had formed on her chest and face where the…demon…had raked his paws across her. She closed her eyes, whimpering at the memory that seemed as vivid as the day it had happened.
Ooc// this will be the thread that she determines that she is a neutral wolf, instead of good.
