Rex;
The area was new and different to the male, it seemed as if no animal lived here, this could be the perfect place for Rex. He looked around cautiously, he thought that there could be other wolves around but then again it looked like no one ever visits here. Rex grinned to himself, loving that the place was empty, empty, was how he liked it. He walked around the area for a few minutes and lifted his snout up to sniff the air. Rex breathed in heavily and a small snort he would make, he sat on his haunches and his eyes were half closed. Maybe he did want to meet a new wolf, maybe they could be friends, or at least some one to hang around with. Whatever the case he was alone for that moment and he enjoyed it, he breathed slowly and heavily, taking his time on... Whatever. The wind blew softly as the summer heat would start to kick in, Rex could feel the heat but then he didn't mind it. Still on his haunches Rex swayed his tail and licked his mouth only because he was partially hungry, the grey male looked up only to see bright sky and birds flying around. The male felt like he was being teased, to see many birds fly around and not one of them to be in his mouth? In his stomach? Rex licked his chops again and growled softly to himself as he watched the birds fly around him.

Invidia,
Nevertheless, there was a peculiar beauty to be found in the austere, deadlands that were redolent of the scents of curiosity and trepidation. Though there was little of interest to be seen in rocks, cracked ground and endless seas of shale and limestone. The only fault that could be foud in the land was simply how boring it appeared to be.
Living creatures did not necessarily make any location interesting- but color did and there was a distinctive lack of color here. As though the earth itself had sucked the vibrant hues out. It wasn't as though such things actually concerned the wanderer- rather, they gave her something to think about.
The scents that faded from curiosity, to tinged with fear, to nearly nothing at all, informed Invidia that few others dared to roam these lands, as though they feared such a place. Though it could certainly become dangerous if one was without water for a prolonged time here. She could not see why anyone was truly scared of the place. There was absolutely nothing here except cracked, hard-packed sandstone, dried grasses, and a black broken trees.
A sound in the distance caught her attention. She let her limbs carry her towards the sound. Unsure and wary, she stayed downwind within the treeline Her black orbs watching the grey creature, that was undoubtedly male, as he sat; stareing at the sky wistfully. The male growled, a low rumble that made her flight-or-fight kick in. Never one to back down from a fight of it came to it, She scoffed, rather loud and disdainfully "A pity, wolves can't fly". She

Ilana Valdís profile for reference! Ilana Valdís Summer burned, burned like the fiery reds of her shed coat, the hairs catching the light in an array of iridescence. The heat was pleasant; a welcome change after the frost of winter and lingering cold of spring. And though the woman found herself pining for the days of biting snow atop her nose and frigid winds on her back, she found the summer sun just as pleasing; it chased the ache from her bones and loosened her joints. Her maw gaped, tasting scents on the wind as she walked. The muscle of her shoulders rippled with each step, scars from her challenge - which she had won - faded by the time the seasons changed. It had been a season since winter cauterised the bleeding, a whole season that she had been allowed to recuperate. Ilana shifted her gait, her smooth, snakelike gait. It spoke of an inevitability - surely as the sun set in the west and the winds never ceased their breath, so too, was she. She was there, at the start, at the beginning; all it would take was to walk a little more and there she would be, waiting. Her approach was unavoidable. She was the oncoming storm. That, was what her motions implied. She burned like hellfire, coat blazing against the monotonous trees that now encompassed her horizon. The air grew stale - or perhaps, dead - dead of life, of trees that struggled to find air; of old, dying scents. There was little life here, save the eternal forest and then some, mainly unfamiliar scents of wolves who had once walked these paths and never returned. Oh, but was it satisfying to stroll in the quiet, the unmoving, and simply ponder life's meanings. For all her moral ambiguities, Ilana was a philosophical woman; it pleased her greatly to have the silence accompanying her like an old friend. ...Ah, but then came words on the wind, the ever-present wind, the wind that was by her side always. It tussled her fur playfully, as if Ilana and the wind were companions before time began. It was as if the winds followed her wherever she went - be that coincidence or fate, she did not know. But she had never had much use for fate... "A pity, wolves can't fly..." Hollow softness, faraway. Ilana could still leave, if she wanted. But the wind changed, pulling the scents of strangers towards her, and, well... She was an indulgent woman. She would sate her curiosities. The fire-touched female stepped into the clearing, fur tousled, wild. Intelligence gleamed in her white stare, piercing in its entirety. She knew there were wolves who found her gaze unnerving; even more so when set upon them, but it did not stop her from levelling it first at the grey male, and then the pitch female. Who knew if they were made of the same stuff as others? Ilana could be surprised, after all. She did not smile. She did not frown. She merely stood, appraising the pair. Their scents were fresh; they would have only recently arrived, like her. They did not appear to know each other - if not, the female might have greeted the male, though Ilana knew she might have missed an earlier part of the conversation if it ever did happen. Yet she was still willing to hedge her bet on all three of them being complete strangers, and, by the looks of it, none afraid to shy from confrontation. ...She could work with it.

Kaiko;The male had a wicked grin to his face, the area around him was...pleasant. For once he actually enjoyed something other than Kai Lake, this place is disfigured and no animals lived here really, he loved it. The deathly quietness was so pleasing, Kaiko should have been here sooner. The Barren Wastes looked like such a nice place to meet deadly wolves, this would be a nice place to start a pack, at least for Kaiko. He galloped around, then he slowed his pace to a trot after a minute. The male shifted his eyes to look around and enjoy the view, his ears flicked as he then fully stopped at his tracks, breathing in deeply at the scent of wolves nearby. There were different scents, like there was more than one wolf. Kai would laugh loudly, but instead he merely chuckled, almost crazily. He shook his head, wondering if he should even approach these wolves. Their scent, Kaiko wanted some blood in his mouth, but not yet. He should wait just a little longer. He licked his muzzle before slowly approaching the strangers, ears flatten and tail flicking up. Kaiko's fur ruffled up, he stood straight, making it as if he is larger than what he usually is. " A pity, wolves can't fly..." he heard one say. Kai chuckled again only to himself " Wolves may only fly when they finally meet death.." he said, not caring if he wasn't suppose to answer. Death, the one thing he adored. Kaiko only wishes to meet death, but he just can't there has got to be something that was keeping him alive. But Kai could only wonder.

Rex;
To his surprise, there where three wolves that suddenly popped up. I thought this place was suppose to make wolves want to stay away? he wondered. Rex then quickly got up, as if he was about to defend himself. His eyes locked onto the wolves, one scoffed loudly "A pity, wolves can't fly..." the pitch female said. Rex didn't know what to say to that, but then a red- eyed wolf spoke, saying something about death. Rex just tilted his head, still very unsure of what to say, he realized that a female, pelt which looks like flame- had not spoken. Maybe this was good, but Rex couldn't tell which was right and which was wrong. He lifted his head slightly, finally ready to answer "I don't know who you are, but this may be interesting." he said, his deep voice almost echoing "I'm Rex." sounding like he's growling. Rex continued to keep his eye on all three wolves, but for some reason he did not have a good feeling about the red-eyed one. Maybe it was just in his mind, but then the red-eyed wolf does look evil... Then again Rex couldn't say anything, he was evil also.

Invidia; A female arrived not long after. She strode with purpose a sort of grandiose entrance that hinted at oncoming storms. The female said nothing. Instead choosing to lock eyes, first with the grey male, then with herself. Invidia held the dark females gaze. The fire-brushed female's orbs were complete opposites of her own abysmal depths; shinning brightly with white light. Too soon was her own appraisal of the newcomer broken as another entered the scene. "Wolves may only fly when they finally meet death.." the male said with a hint of chuckle. She smiled with cold contempt, giving a short bark of dry laughter "Most drown in fire, boy"
. Her smiled turned malicious, giving the red-eyed male a wink; she purred "Death is the most painful of truths, it's life that is a beautiful lie." The grey male spoke, his posturing betrayed his fear. She remained as she was, not afraid of her current company. They were an interesting lot, the four strangers; two females and two males. "Invidia. And you are?" she met the eyes of the white-eyed female first, then the red-eyed male. It was the polite thing to do in the circumstances. Besides it was better to know the names of your victims, if it came to that. She'd hoped not as she was quite intrigued by the wolves, but either way it panned out, she'd be fine with it.

Ilana Valdís She met their gazes coolly, seemingly without rancour, but also without fear. The pitch woman, shadowed from the tips of her ears to her toes, caught Ilana's stare and locked it with her own. There was a certain edge to her, the woman decided, and found it pleasing. After all, when had another wolf so boldly made eye contact with her? Ever since her mother had passed, and she began to show her teeth... the memory eluded her wandering mind, but Ilana knew that in that moment she had transformed into some otherworldly creature of hedonistic, wild intent. ...But the curated silence was broken as fast as it had set upon them. Words, carried yet again on the wind, filtered into their clearing. They were high-strung, pitched insanity; if it hadn't been for the thickset wolf that accompanied them, Ilana might have believed that they were the fever-ramblings of a child. He was already large, and though his fur stood on end, it was too short to make much of a difference; instead it was the lumber of his gait and straightening of his spine that caused him to grow, if only slightly. How... interesting. The woman knew that it was a defensive mechanism, but there was no fear in the wolf's eyes. Perhaps an intimidation factor? Oh, but she was the smallest here in this place without a doubt, save perhaps the other female; if she would not be cowed, then what foolish hope did he have? But you never know with insanity. Her lips curled visibly when he spoke, distaste evident in her careful neutral mask. Does he think he is some sort of harbinger?Death was a necessity, as was life. They were a cycle, kept in check by each other. And yet here he spoke of death as a romantic, spinning sweet nothings into the air. Wolves can only fly, my ass. There was no beauty in death, no emotion except the clinical sort of acceptance that came with it. But Ilana kept her words to herself, instead turning her attention to the greying male with the vivid lime eyes. "I'm Rex."Ilana almost applauded. There was apprehension in his gaze, but well-hidden. That was good. It was always beneficial to hold a little fear in the heart, for fear led to caution, and caution led to life. She bore no shame in admitting that she liked life, and definitely liked living. After all, there were things to be done, places to be seen, wolves to meet - although she tarried on the last thought. And there were stars, scarce to be counted; for all her eldritch humor, there was a sort of whimsical longing in her, it seemed. "Death is the most painful of truths, it's life that is a beautiful lie." Pitch lips tugged upwards to reveal Ilana's onyx teeth and maw, glinting dully. They seemed to draw in all light to them, allowing none to escape. "But it is a necessary lie, nonetheless..." she cooed, words tapering off in a long drawl. Her voice was simultaneously hollow and full, rich and empty, as if carried across valleys by the untameable wind. Her face, masked in reds so deep they seemed black, only emphasised the almost-glow of her gaze. Unsettlingly calm, and difficult to look to, or away from. And yet, this raven woman - Invidia - had managed it. Quaint."Valdís," Ilana said then, the name slipping easily from her tongue and curling over her lips, expelled with nary a tremor in the tone. She knew very well what it meant, with all their talk of death. While she was no god, well, she might as well have been one, with all her name implied.

Kaiko;
"Most wolves drown in fire, boy" the pitch female said with dry laughter "Death is the most painful of truths, it's life that is a beautiful lie."
Kaiko grinned, he was the one who wished he drowned in fire, but he chuckled when she had said that life is a beautiful lie. But Kaiko almost stared blankly at he pitch female when she had winked at him and purred, this was no doubt a surprise to Kai, no one had ever winked at him before, this made Kaiko..confused, he did not know whether to appreciate the wink or not. His face did not look confused however, it just stayed blank. A moment later he had grinned again, "But it is a necessary lie nonetheless..." he heard the other female say. By then they had all said there names, it was Kaiko's turn now. The females names were easy to shorten, but when the grey male had introduced himself Kaiko's mind went haywire, his eye twitched, but he then spoke "Invi," he said grinning to the pitch female. "Val," he knew her name meant some type of god, but instead he decided to go with a name that meant 'strong'.
"Hmmm, X," he said to the grey male, it was the only thing he could think of to shorten his name. "Kai is the name." he chuckled again and he knew his name meant 'sea' but if he had said his full name his name would mean 'strong current in the sea'.
"What is life without death? You can't live until you die." all the hearing about lies, he just couldn't help but to say "You can't learn to tell the truth until you learn to lie.." Kai hid a grin as he looked at both females then looking at the male.

Rex;
Intriguing... this meeting did not go bad so far, Rex grinned, just the same as Kai. It seemed as if Rex calmed down a bit, but yet he still hadn't let his guard down. "Invidia, Valdis and Kai, pleasure to be acquainted with you. " They will all surely die in agony... this had crossed his mind for a nano second, but it would surely fade away. The male's tail was flicking quite fast, uncontrollable, he didn't even realize his tail had been moving at all. His grin never faded, it was still in place "If you don't mind, I would like to know what brings fellow wolves here?" though if none of them answered he would be fine, he trusted his instincts more than anything. Rex licked his chops, almost as if he was hungry, his tail finally stopped flicking. Rex nodded slowly "I can tell you what im doing here if you want." he said looking at both females, he had glanced at Kai, almost having a feeling he already knows him but of course he doesn't, he had just met the darn guy.
There was a wind, it felt harsh, the wind certainly brushed through Rex's pelt. Rex seemed to enjoy it, not once did his grin fade, he honestly couldn't tell if that was good or not.
