With his back up against cold stone, Volka felt at home. The rock he reclined beside wasn’t quite right, but it was close enough to make him think of Mason. Volka missed his friend. The one that just sat and listened, the one that had always been there for him… Silent, steady Mason. Volka closed his eyes and imagined the rock at his back was actually Mason. Then he opened his eyes and the surroundings were all wrong. Instead of Redwoods towering above his head, they were distant. Rocks and dry brush speckled the landscape between him and the canopy miles away. Why had he come to the barrens, again? Maybe it’d been some strange thought that convinced him the she-wolves living here would be prettier. However, Volka had yet to run into any females to compare. Sighing, Volka pulled himself to his feet. The trip here had been a mistake. It would take a couple days to get back to the forests and Volka had no sense of satisfaction to show for it. @deadlydeva

Corinne;
She slept, she slept for a good two hours. She had been hanging around with her siblings not long ago and she needed a small rest. Corinne opened one eye and shifted her eye about, she didn't see her siblings, great, looks like they left her, again.
She then slowly raised her head up and blinked slowly, she groaned "Does she really have to take Delta with her? I mean, I know she loves leaving me but seriously?" Corinne said to herself as she sighed and stretched her legs. The female shifted her head from the left and to the right to see if any one was around, she wanted to go back to her family and just scold her little sister for leaving her for the tenth time today. Corinne walked slowly ahead and looked to the ground, watching to see if there were any tracks. She sniffed the earth and caught a scent, though it wasn't familiar. It was a scent of another wolf of course, Corinne raised a brow and wondered if she should approach the stranger, she always liked making new friends and besides she could always defend herself if she needed. Corinne smiled barely and followed the scent, moments later she was getting much closer and suddenly she had accidentally bumped into the stranger "Oh, I'm sorry I wasn't looking where I was-" she then finally looked up and saw the male's figure "going..."
She looked at the stranger in awe as she then pulls herself up and meet eye level with him. She gulped a little and smiled nervously.

The she-wolf came out of nowhere. There must’ve been some sort of dip in the plain, hiding her from view. Volka nearly tripped over her. He stumbled, clumsily, desperately struggling to keep his feet. He barely managed it. By the time he found his balance, he realized he was way too close to the female. Volka didn’t mind, but the she-wolf might. Before he had time to steps away, the she-wolf straightened to met his gaze. Their muzzle bumped, noses nearly touching. Volka leaned away, his cheeks fluffed in embarrassment as he slipped into a role that fit the situation. He stepped back and ducked his head in shame. ”Sorry! Sorry!” Volka rushed to apologize. He raised a paw to hide his face under it. He peeked at the female from beneath its shadow. She was smiling at him. Volka hesitantly removed the paw to awkwardly smile back. ”Uh… hi…” After another moment of hesitation, he introduced himself. ”My name’s Volka. You can tell my yourself if you like… but you don’t have to! You could… um… leave instead, I guess.” Volka stumbled over his words. This time he was going for a charmingly clumsy personality, perhaps a little scatterbrained.

Corinne;
She watched as the grey male quickly apologizes, she continued to smile nervously and say "Oh no, it is I that needs to apologize! I was looking down and wasn't watching where I was going." she nodded and she heard him say his name. Corinne swayed her tail "Volka? That's a nice name," she bowed her head a little introducing herself "My name is Corinne," she then lifts her head back up "but my friends like to call me Cora." Corinne said with a smile. The female took some time to examine the male's features and she sort of.. Liked the way he looked. He acted friendly and clumsy which made Corinne giggle.
She couldn't help but to place her magenta colored eyes on his icy blue eyes, it was an accident, she just couldn't help it. As she looked into his eyes she smiled softly and her tail swayed slowly almost like she enjoyed his presence. The female nods a little and speaks calmly and softly "Um, what brings you here? If you don't mind me asking." the female continued on her soft smile and she sits down on her haunches. Corinne didn't feel like the male was threatining at all, it was like she had let her gaurd down.

The female complimented his name, ”Uh, thanks! My mom gave it to me… sorry, that was stupid. Who else would’ve given it to me?!” Volka laughed awkwardly. Then she introduced herself, ”Corinne- er, Cora is a much nicer name… I mean… in comparison to mine. Not that I don’t think mine’s okay. It’s just… yours is better!” Volka sighed a couple words to himself, ”I’m awful at this…” The fake Volka wouldn’t be intending Cora to overhear it, but Volka hoped she did and suspected that the ‘this’ he was referencing was flirting, especially since this version of Volka would have trouble confessing his ‘feelings.’ Cora was reacting well to his personality. It made evident by her giggling and smiling. Her eyes met his. Volka quickly glanced away from the eye contact, but his eyes slowly returned to hers as if unable to stay away from their sparking magenta hue. ”What brings you here?” Volka’s cheeks fluffed up in a blush, ”Oh! I was looking for someone…” Real Volka had been looking for a gullible, beautiful she-wolf like Cora, but the facade Volka couldn’t say that. He’d come up with a different person to be searching for. His thoughts turned to his long-lost sister. Why not say he was searching for her? It wasn’t like he would ever actually find her... "My sister, actually..."

Corinne;
He seems nice. thought Corinne as she sat listening to the grey male. But something was wrong.. What was it? He seemed nervouse bug nonetheless he seemed dumb. Corinne shook her head roughly and giggled nervously as he said he was awful at this. Corinne could simply imagine Dawn mocking him and laughing. Cora flattened her ears when she heard him say he was looking for his sister "Oh, really? I'm actually looking for my sister, too." she said with a nervous smile to her face. She thought it was a good time to leave now, though she liked making friends, she was always warned to never be with a scatterbrained guy. It was rude but maybe life was easier that way "I'll go on ahead and look for my sister, if you'll excuse me." Corinne said calmly and politely as she turned and started to walk almost slowly as if she was waiting or expecting for him to say something else, Corinne merely wondered if the male was actually smart, that was a possibility and she hoped she wont regret possibly missing being with a smart, handsome wolf. She felt a cool breeze rush through her pelt as she then turned her neck to see the young wolf, Volka.

A hesitant smile crept across Cora’s face as she mentioned she was looking for her sister as well. Volka grinned, somewhat goofily back at her. Then her eyes flicked away, breaking their nervous eye contact, as she excused herself. Volka watched her, slightly dumbfounded, as she started to walk away. Things had seemed to be going so well! Cora had been reacting so well to his clumsy personality. There had to be more going on here. Maybe she had a mate? That’d be an interesting challenge! And even if Cora didn’t, Volka tucked aside the idea for later. It would be fun, seducing a female away from her family. Perhaps, it had something to do with her sister? Cora had broke things off as soon as she came up in the conversation. Whatever the case, Volka definitely wasn’t giving up. ”Wait!” he called as Cora looked back at him. He galloped up to her, ”Maybe we could search for our sister, t-together?” he suggested, glancing down at his paws, anxiously.

Corinne;
"Wait!" she heard him call out as he ran up to her "Maybe we could look for our sister, t-together?" Corinne's eyes widen slightly, look for Corinne's sister? The last time Cora checked Dawn loved it when no one found her. Corinne placed a paw on Volka's head "Knowing my sister, she hates being forced to meet someone new, and if I bring you along she will probably just get mad at me." Corinne smiled as she then placed her paw on the ground. Her magenta colored eyes sparked when she tilted her head a little "But... Maybe your sister is different."
The white marked female sat on her hind as she continued to smile at Volka, her tail flicked a few times "I bet you're a smart guy! Surely you can think where your sister might be!" Cora's tail started to sway faster, she was feeling so optimistic! Maybe if she helps Volka with help finding his sister, she wouldn't have to search for Dawn like an idiot. Corinne stood up "So, where do you think your sister might be?" She asked as she tilted her head. Oh this should be an exciting adventure! she thought.
"Besides, I'm sure My sister wouldn't worry if I'm gone for a little while."

At first, it seemed like Cora was just making her sister seem antisocial to avoid having to bring Volka along, using her sister as a way to get out of a conversation. Then she turned the subject to his sister. ”She is,” Volka smiled, ”I’m sure she wouldn’t mind meeting you at all!”Cora sat, searching for a place to start. Great, just great… Volka knew he wouldn’t be finding his sister any time soon, but he couldn’t let Cora know that. Hopefully, she’d fall for him as they were searching and become too preoccupied to worry about finding Ursa. Volka whipped together a story. ”Well, we were supposed to meet in a den not too far from here. W-we like to travel around, I guess you’d call us nomads, and we found it a couple days ago. We needed to food so we split up to hunt, but she didn’t come back to the den like we agreed. I suppose we could go back to the den, but I… I’m worried something happened to her.” Volka seemed to be growing more sure of himself to more he spoke to Cora, but his tone also grew worried as he shuffled his paws.

Corinne;
She tilted her head, could his sister be lost? Corinne loved it when she helped people out so if this was an emergency Corinne is there to lend a helping paw!
"Lucky for you, I like to travel too! Maybe if we wait at the den you guys are staying at she might turn out!! She said, swaying her tail as she got excited of the idea. "What do you say?" she said tilting her head ever so slightly. She hoped he would say yes, come on, she wanted a small adventure before she had to return to her family! Besides she was a young adult, she had permission to stay out if she wanted. And also if any one were to get in trouble it would be Dawn since she is the one that left Cora. Delta didn't do anything wrong technically, he was innocent. He just usually does what Dawn likes to do... For the most part. If it were up to Delta he would not have left her alone.
Corinne did seriously need a break from Dawn every once in awhile, as much as she loved her she could act like such a butt at times. Cora looked at Volka and smiled widely as she waited for his response.

Ah, now he’d probably have to find a den of some sort, won’t he? How was he going to disguise finding one? Volka was supposed to already know where the den was, but he had no such den, so he’d probably just end up leading Cora around for hours, searching. Unless… ”I… I already spent a fair amount of time waiting there,” Volka sounded defeated, ”I don’t know if I-I should go back and wait more when my sister could be out there needing my help…” Would those words make it more difficult for Cora to forget about finding Ursa? Probably, but after some time, he could play it off as if she was never coming back. Then he could use the ‘tragedy’ as a bonding experience. He could still make this work. ”I’ve been trying to retrace her scent trail from where we split up, though!” Volka continued, hopefully, ”Over here…” Volka galloped back to where he’d been when he and Cora had run into each other. He pressed his nose the ground and quickly scoured the nearby area. He fixed on a very faint scent trail. It could’ve been either a wolf or a rabbit, but it was too old to tell for sure. ”I can’t follow it anymore. She was heading that direction,” Volka gestured West, ”But she might’ve turned or something.”

Corinne;
Volka said he already waited awhile for his sister. Corinne frowned, almost worried for his sister. Cora tried to keep a smile though "I'm sure she's fine," she said after Volka said his sister might need help. The female looked at him as he galloped to the spot where they bumped into each other. She sighed a little when Volka said she might have turned another direction, this was going to be difficult. Corinne slowly trotted to the grey male, a small, nervous smile crept on her face "Well, this might take awhile so..." Corinne sat down, hoping he would as well "Do you want to... Talk?" she blinked twice as she looked at Volka.
She curled her tail around herself, and hoped he did wanted to talk.
At first, she wouldn't know what to talk about, would it be about his sister? Would it be about her sister? Would it be about just anything at all. Corinne looked down at her paws as she tried to think of something to say, but she had nothing, nothing to talk about, maybe they should've been looking for his sister right now. Maybe Corinne should have went back to her family, everything was just confusing to her. But now she couldn't go back (or at least wouldn't) because she had already tried to leave once, now it would just be really rude to try to leave again.
