Zeus;
Pulling from his memory, Zeus recalled the last summer he had spent in the Wildflower Clearing... laying in the tall grass, resting his body as the sun spread warmth over him. He had met Koa then too. And they had talked, talked about the territory, and her pack... memory after memory flashed back in his head and Zeus lost his smile as they replayed the outcome. The plans that had never been set in stone, and now Koa had left, gone off to a new place.
A sharp yip had snapped Zeus out of his thoughts as Laden’s bark penetrated the warm summer air. They weren’t in the Wildflower Clearing, but it sure was summer again, and that was something to be happy about. Hemera, Laden, and him had all decided to explore further around the valley, so they had set out to journey from their recent den and find adventure elsewhere. The Amoux Creek was very near, for its sound could be heard through the trees. They were traveling the forest near Wildflower Clearing, just at the tip of the Hunting Plains where the forest caps it off. Once they found the river, they could follow it southwest and run into Kia Lake, and even further past that, they could eventually reach Wildwater Falls, a waterfall that came from the White Wolf Mountain. The very mountain that Sheba lived on. Whether she was there now or not, Zeus trusted that the goddess’ business was of great importance.
Oh how the thrill of traveling was singing in his bones as Zeus trotted past the trees and underbrush, a steep slope sank down to lower grounds that had less trees and more bushes scattered about. Traveling and exploring the valley put a certain excitement in Zeus’ step, and he longed to bring Laden to that very place of excitement and thrill. Hemera too, he knew this kind of adventure was good for her still grieving soul. She would learn to live with joy once again. He knew it. Zeus glanced back over his shoulder at his sister that lazily followed, and sent her a grin that said “come one, have some fun!”
Another bark penetrated the air, but it was Zeus’ this time, and he called out to his nephew, ”Laden, I’ll race you to the edge of the river, last one has to catch a fish!” And with that, the large gray male sprinted forward on his powerful legs, dodging the trees as he sped towards the finish line.
